Here's an oldie, formerly a CPR unit, and before that, in Santa Fe Warbonnet paint, and originally an undecorated unit from Globe, part of an A-B-B-A set....

Three of the units were dummies, while the one shown had a single Lindsey truck-mounted motor - not great pullers, but pretty fast.  Stick out tongue

Wayne

Show me another cab-unit, please, but not one from EMD.

Really, the DELAWARE AND HUDSON never ran in Delaware? Did it make it to the Hudson? I had no idea.

According to a map in my Historical Guide book D&H seems to be centered at Binghamton, NY with branches going North through Albany to Montreal, West to Niagara Falls, South through Scranton, PA to Washington, DC with side branches to Newark and Philadelphia

They started as just another PA coal hauler, their name came from their origanal plan to expand south and east to Delaware and the Hudson river. They did get to the Hudson River, but they realized they could be a bigger presense in upstate NY, because at the time we just had some little, unconnected railroads. They soon became "our" railroad. Later, they aquired track to other places like DC and trackage rights during the creation of Conrail.  Vendors at train shows try to sell me NYC locomotives, they either need to do their history, or are just trying to rip me off. Just because I am not an adult doesn't mean I am dumb about railroad history. And don't get me started about Guilford...

Sorry, i've been ranting.Zip it! Back to SMS.

Pretty sure D&H referred to the Delaware and Hudson rivers both of which it crossed.

No kidding?!?! I knew there was a connection. I have one of those and I thought "hmm, that looks awfully familiar. Wonder if his is a Bachmann too". Guess I was right with my hunch. If you can make yours look nice, I guess I can too. I'll have to give it a shot...

Now, on to the regularly scheduled program...

Show us something with the word "new" in the name.

I'm beginning to realize that Windows 10 and sound decoders have a lot in common. There are so many things you have to change in order to get them to work the way you want.

Quick question:what brand is that 4-8-4?

.

That is an old, broken, non-operational, box-stock Bachmann Santa Fe 4-8-4.

.

I bought it for about $10.00 in an antique store, and painted it up for my STRATTON AND GILLETTE to use as a prop.
