Jarrell's Show me Something: May 2019
Posted by G Paine on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 10:20 AM

Welcome to the May, 2019

"Show Me Something"

Thread

Dedicated to the originator, Jarrell

This is a place where forum members can post their photos featuring a view of a "requested" scene or object.

If you show the item requested you can then make a request of your own, or choose to stay with the current request.

 Welcome Everyone!

After 24 hours, the same rules apply, or you can post a new photo of your choosing and make a new request. Your photos should be of models only, not a "real-life" scene. It's all about having fun! Let's see those photos!

The last request by Allan (BRVRR):

How about a maroon loco?

MEC and B&M had a lot of maroon locos

IN the 1950s MEC started converting to green, show me any green loco

Thanks for showing the Erie E8 and PA next to that other railroad's loco, Ed. Laugh Looking good! Thumbs Up I also see a DL&W passenger car in the background. Do you model the Lackawanna as well?

Do you model the Lackawanna as well?

Just little slices of it here and there.

 DLnW_tower by Edmund, on Flickr

I remember seeing some of these concrete towers when I was hanging around the Delaware Water Gap area back in the '70s.

Most of my Erie sights were in the Cleveland area.

Here's some old film I shot back then:

Back to the regular "Show Me" thread... a flatcar with load.

Cheers, Ed

U-25B locomotives produced smoke due to turbo lag, and it got sucked back into the air intakes. The soot was quite visible on light colored locos like MEC 404

Uhhh, MEC 404 is a U18B, not a U25B...

I’m sure it’s just a mistake...

Anyway back to the request at hand:

Maybe not the right kind of signal.

After watching the Hitchcock movie 'North by Northwest' in HD the other night (my big Sony tube finally bit the dust after 19 years of service) please show me some 20th Century Limited equipment, bonus for 'Red Caps' or "Red Carpet'.   Thanks and regards,  Peter

I would've thought Nick and Nora Charles, who probably wouldn't have ridden this short Grand Valley train, in local service on Erie Northshore tracks...

Another passenger train with an older car in the rear if you please.

Nice-looking pipe loads on those flats, George.

This is probably not the type of car you had in mind, but the white line on the door and the storage tubes for chains, visible under the car's floor, indicate that this car is equipped with racks for loading automobiles....

They are a Jaeger kit. Enough material to make two 40' flat loads. Maybe discontinued, I do not see it listed in Walthers

Thanks for the info, George.

I made pipe loads for a couple of gondolas, using the refills from ballpoint pens...

...and three flatcar loads of bigger pipe, using the barrels of the pens...

...although I still need to add some wedges to the blocking, as the pipes aren't banded.

Now, back to our regularly-scheduled programme, which is looking for some form of autorack.
