A boxcar...

Wayne

Show me a boxed car, please (and no, that's not a spelling error).

It hs been almost a day, and this is as close as I can get. An Athearn BB tank car with its box that I found at a train show. Note the original price: $2.35!! I paid more than that at the show

SHow me some more tank cars

Another GERN tank car...

I wouldn't have thought that a "boxed car" would have been difficult, but perhaps my expectations were skewed a bit...

OK, tank car, here's one from a couple years ago, I bashed an Athearn 65' tank from the 60's into a something a little more modern looking, giving it the looks of a Procor LP or anhyrous amonia tank car

I like tank cars, more please!

I used the same Athearn car to build this version, based on sketches I did of the prototype (I didn't have a camera with me at the time).

More tank cars, please - have a couple dozen more to share.

My instinct was that Wayne was looking for a crated automobile which was a common method of shipping before the specialized Automobile box cars and auto racks.

Ed, that is what I was thinking also. I have a Funaro & Camerlengo kit for automobile crates, but it is not assembled yet.

I wasn't even aware that they crated autos, but have seen them single level and two-level, and also on-end, in boxcars, and, of course, multiple levels in autoracks, and on-end in the Vert-A-Pac cars.

All I wanted to be shown was a piece of rolling stock in its box, (a variation on "box car") and George's response was close enough.

The passenger car truck under the car is not part of it. The picture just happened to look that way.

Show me more modern tank cars please.

I'm beginning to realize that Windows 10 and sound decoders have a lot in common. There are so many things you have to change in order to get them to work the way you want.

OK... CAROLINA MIDLAND hopper car with a load of gravel.

Kevin, that good-looking hopper is overloaded:   gravel is much denser than coal and that load should fill, at most, only half the car...
