Late evening Diners
Went out for lunch today with my Judy...... Judy says happy birthday Ken.
After blowing about 90 bucks at Dave & Busters playing games we went to PF Changs for lunch. Happy times. We had a guy named Pikachu for a waiter. He was great.
All the years I knew my friend Todd Short, he always told me to get the sea bass at PF Changs.
So I did today. It was more than great.
I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. It was the best lunch I've had in years. The texture of it was like lobster. Eating it was a day of gratisfaction to say the least
If you haven't had the sea bass at PF Changs, take it under advisement from Track Fidler that you really must
TF
The picture is after I busted it in half. The other half of it was being eaten by a T-Rex
Eveing None Brithday Folks!
Flo around for the dinner on my tab. Sorry folks no left over birthday cake, did not want one.
Over all a good day. Had brunch at a Mexican Resturant that my wife want to go to and I don't care for. Food was fair to I hated it, I rather had Taco Bell. Mexican Music was way to loud and my wife wanted to set by the kitchen? But I enjoyed being with my daughter, son in law and wife.
Shawn and Shayon bought me a printer. While I could use one, I did not miss having mine dead that much. My old printer will not feed paper any longer and the top happens to be my R.I.P. track. Just about bet there is a Kadee coupler down in there some where!
Far as older pets there is no easy way to let go of them. I don't care if they live to be 40 years, it will be to short.
Thanks for the wishes folks! Later Ken
I hate Rust
That was some fishy humor Mike!
I'm thinking of overfeeding them now..... maybe fatten them up a bit TF
Track fiddler We have fish now, a little easier to cope when one dies.
Tuff to filet, just gut and deep fry like smelt, tasty!
Mike.

Good Afternoon!
I went to see my friend Lothar this afternoon, just for a cup of coffee and a chat. He is difficult to get hold of right now, as he has started working on the new family home they recently bought for their retirement. It´s a 2 1/2 hrs. drive away, so once they will haved moved there, chances will be very minimal for us to meet again, as fate will take us most likely imn the opposite direction. He also helped me to install a coupler on one of the coaches of my little British train, which is now ready to steam along - if I had a place for it.
Henry - as we are still looking for a place to move to, I checked the link and looked at the offer. I am afraid it is not my style
No snow here I don´t think we will get any until Spring has officially sprung. Lots of early bloomers are sticking out their necks already. I love the sight of these little yellow and blue fellas.
Ken - I am glad to hear that Sue is back at home.
Happy times!

cudaken Sparkie The Rocket Dog. It is just about time toput him down. Last night he had a seizue and was laying on his back shaking and lost control of his bowels while he was in our bed. We will not hold that aginst him, getting old sucks. But it is still another sign. Next month we will have had him 5 years. We promised him this is his forever home and it is. Sparke is a Americn Eskimo and we got him from a Americn Eskimo Rescue at age 10. Need a battery back up for the computer! Power company turn off the power for a split second and computer crashed. It was a pain to get it to reboot right. Plus I was running the trains with decoder pro, they went nuts when the power came back on. Steven Are you still there? Later Ken

Ken. It is a hard thing to deal with having a pet getting older. They are an important member of the family and hard to let go. We went through this not many years ago with Nellie, our English Springer. We have fish now, a little easier to cope when one dies.
As far as your computer crash maybe a system restore would do the trick. Although I would not take advice from someone who has taken advice for computers and smartphones from young Stephen. Maybe wait for him to tell you what to do.

Ken! I'm glad your Sue is home and wish her a speedy recovery. I'm hopeful you two can work through some things, sure would make life easier on you both
I used some moderation with my Scotch last night after dinner. I feel good today and Judy has a Sunday off for a change.
Another snow Clipper hit Minnesota with high wind gusts, blowing and drifting snow. We're stocked up on Staples and snacks. I may just stay home and dust off a MR project of some kind, always something to do.
Have a great day all. TF
BigDaddywho doesn't need 2000 acres plus their own 15" gauge railroad?
It would only be $56,367 a month, 30 year mortgage. Of course taxes and insurance included.
Last week Chama, NM got 30" of snow and the webcams were knocked out.

Another gray and rainy day on the east coast. The weirdness continues. Spent over an hour looking for my Badger battery powered paint stirrer. This morning, it magically appeared right in the middle of my work bench, that I searched 3 times yesterday.

I think I'd rather have my own private railcar.
Ken,
Hope Sue has a fast recovery with the heart issues, and that it can be controlled with meds---and, Happy (I think) Birthday to you---notice how fast they move as you age---

SeeYou190I was working on my layout segment project in the garage tonight, and these two critters showed up looking for a new home.
I'd be glad to take the little felines in, Kevin. Can you put them on the Silver Meteor (Coach, not Pullman!) and send them to Cleveland?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEN
I hope everyone is having a swell weekend!

Good thing all the girls have grown up and moved away, or we would have had two new family members.

Living the dream.
Evening diners,
Yes Ken, I am still here, just been busy, really busy...
I've fallen pretty far behind on everything here in the diner, so happy birthday to everybody, condolences to anyone who needs it, and prayers to those in need.
Next weekend I'm pulling the trans out of my truck and putting a JY one in.
Well that's all I've got.
I'll be around.
Steve
If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough!
Garry , yes it was quite fowl.
Happy Early Birthday to Ken.
I bet I am the first one this on this day - the time difference working in my favor!
Edit: Gosh, over 1,000 posts in less than a year - I must be a rather talkative chap!
A Word to the Wise. I had to wxxk today, a bigger day than I like to work on a Saturday. In light of that fact, I only had some beers and a very good dinner last night and turned in early.
Now I have Sunday and Monday off. I am sporting the Good Scotch tonight If I post anything goofy or a little crazy later, Now you know
PS. Fowl humor Thanks Garry

..... I like your answer better MLC. I guess I always look for the scientific explanation for everything.
Oh well, now we have both
Afternoon Diners.
Not having a good day, nothing really bad just nothing good.
Sue is home and back to her old self, hum. So she is driving me a little nuts!
moelarrycurly4 TF do you know why when geese fly that one side of the "V" is longer than the other?

Early Evening Diners
Continued prayers for those who need them here. Good Karma always has a way of coming around
Geese..... It is always been my understanding they fly in a V formation during migration not only because it's a long trip but it helps the weaker and tired birds. Although the V looks the same from the ground the birds are flying at different heights. The bird behind the bird in front of it has a broken vortex following in a draft so to speak. That Vortex streamlines further back in line. The weakest birds are in back. That's probably why there's a longer line on one side of the V.
Canadian geese care about each other and they do take turns giving one another a break. The ones that have a rest for a while fly to the front of the V so the previous geese bucking the headwind can have a break for a while. The further back in line, the better the vortex tunnel. The weak and tired geese are flying in back.
Canadian geese are very loyal to each other. They mate for life just like Timberwolves. It is a no-brainer many people of this world could take lessons from nature and Wildlife. One of my favorite movies is an old movie, it is called "Fly Away Home" It is a movie about Canadian geese and kind of a tearjerker.
Good morning, everybody ...
Wethaer Guessers expect rain storms this afternoon and evening. We dont need more rain becasue we have had excessive amounts in recent weeks. I'm glad it is not snow, however.
Timmy .... Snow in the Sonoran Desert ! ... I guess it is good for us we did not make a trip to see our daughter in southern AZ so far this year.
Ulrich ... Thanks for the EL video.
Ed ... Thanks for the Berkshire video.
Ricky ... Good to hear the job is going well.
Cheers.
It started out OK, I thought you were joking, than, all of the sudden! Geeesh!
Like some of the "how-to" videos that seem to have the first 2 minutes of photos flashing before you, promoting the author, with loud obnoxious music. Really?
I usually click away, as fast as I can.
NKP 757 back in Bellevue, Ohio. Plenty of help on hand at arrival.
Turn the volume down for the intro head-banging "music" at the beginning :30 second mark. Maybe I'm getting too old for this kind of tasteful score?
Enjoy the show after that. I don't know what kind of decoder they have in the 6183 but the prime mover sounds awful. Maybe the speakers are being overdriven?
Tinplate ToddlerDave - stay safe!
Sage advice Ulrich! The pantry is stocked (and so is the liquor cabinet). We have to feed the birds this morning before the storm comes but that is about as far outside of the house as I'm going to venture!
To quote you Ulrich,
Cheers!!
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
The way the rails lifted, so that's how they did that! Great little film.
Good Morning, Crew! More coffee for me, thanks, and I'll pick up the tab coffee for and donuts for everyone else.
Ken, here's hoping for Sue's speedy recovery from the last mini-stroke.
Henry, I'm glad to hear that you know the cause of the bleeding and are working with your doctor on this.
Today we have the landlord's electrician coming to change out the 40+ year old breaker box that's long been out-of-code. We live in a side-by-side, one-story duplex and our neighbor's box was upgraded the other day. The previous owners did nothing as far as upgrades are concerned, and I'm happy to see the new owner taking a pro-active approach to his properties.
I wanted to get started on repair/maintenance to a Bethlehem Car Works DL&W baggage car, but have to wait as I've ordered more detail parts from eBay. It seems that anything from Cal-Scale carries a higher price, or in my case, a higher shipping cost that is nothing more than a cover for a higher parts price. There are, however, some things that Cal-Scale made that no one else makes now and the passenger car air and steam line parts that I ordered are an important detail for the baggage car. I also have parts to order from Kato, too, but that will have to wait until next week. Have a great Saturday, Guys!
