Okey dokey, it's too late I'm hitting the sack, goodnight all!

If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough!
BATMAN A much better rainbow song.
A much better rainbow song.
Brent,
Have you ever heard The Carpenters version of The Railbow Connection? It is beautiful.
Karen Carpenter had the most wonderful voice. I would llisten to her sing alything. I even like her version of Jambalaya.
Living the dream.
Steven, I will be the first to buy your song off of I-Tunes. We train guys gotta stick together.
If you have seen this planet, you will love this planet.
Night all!
Good Morning!
It got a little cooler last night, so I caught some more sleep than in the previous nights. Good!
Steven - a career in the music industry depends on 50% talent and 50% luck. Those, who make it r, are bonded slaves to their publishing labels. Long gone are the days, when a bunch of kids got together, made their own thing, got discovered and became rich and famous. You don´t get discovered these days, you have to invest a lot of time and effort in self-advertising your art, only to find out that there are thousands and thousands just like you. Should you be lucky enough to draw the attention of some key people in the industry, then goodbye to your own style, your own personality and your own way of life. Every aspect of your life and your art will be managed to ensure the maximum of return of the label´s investment. How do I know this? I was once the CFO of a classic music label. If you were my kid, we´d have a man to man talk about your idea!
I remember the last time I was in New York. I had arrived late on a Sunday afternoon and was too tired to use the free time for anything other than a drink at the hotel bar, before hitting the hay. I got to talk to the cute blond lady bartender who told me that she was actually a singer and a dancer, but had to make a living by being a bartender. Well, I told her that I could neither sing nor dance, but was a heck of an accountant and therefore could afford to be on the other side of the bar. She was a good sport and laughed about my remark.
Brent - just to add to your collection of unusual steam powered vehicles:

(My Model Railroad, My Rules)
These are the opinions of an under 35 , from the east end of, and modeling, the same section of the Wheeling and Lake Erie railway. As well as a freelanced road (Austinville and Dynamite City railroad).

Maybe. My daughter says everything she sings sounds depressing. I'm going to get her a Karen Carpenter Greatest Hits album for next xmas just to annoy her.
Eveing Diners
Flo, get the gang and I a Ed a Crown Royal and Rick and Steven a RBF.
VA Front what a pain in the caboose it was today! Every where I drove the was road constrution. All so turned out to be a pretty much wasted trip to a point. I was told to bring my CPAP Machine so I luged that with me. They did not even look at it! I did get a new mask, hose and fliter so it was not a complete wasted trip. But, all they did was show photos of them and said pick one? So I spent a hour in traffic for that?
Steven Go for your dream and don't let other people tell you, you can't make! Heck if Rod Stweart make a living singing you stand a chances. Guess in his case he was so bad, it made him good?
Whats with all this Rainbow stuff? Yes I like Some Where Over The Rainbow and I have my own version I cannot post. Then you folks bring in Kermitt The Frog? This is a train dinner right?
How about some Train Train?
Trains are running fine and I am beat so later.

Hello diners,
Got my senior pictures done, I am quite photogenic if I do say so myself.
It started raining at the last shot so I got soaked, if the pictures don't come out we'll have to get them retaken.
Well, I am happily back at the beach again for a long relaxing weekend with my wife.
There is a terrible Red Tide and Green Algae outbreak on the West Coast, so we drove across the state to Deerfield Beach on the Atlantic Coast.
We are staying in a corner suite on the 5th floor. This is sweet. We have an ocean front view from one side, and a pool view from the other.
It is time for some serious relaxing!
This is the view from our balcony.

Sharks or no sharks, I am not going into the ocean this weekend. There is no stinky algae over here, but the water is filled with seaweed, yuck.
That's OK. I am on the balcony drinking a Landshark, and listening to the surf.
Not a bad Thursday!

As a guy who used to go to church with said, I am well pleased with my children, not proud, but well pleased.
So let me clarify, I am well pleased with the appearance of the photos.
Nice Retreat Kevin, good for you, It looks like fun. Put on your sunscreen and don't forget the old Batman series, get yourself some of that shark repellent.
This is one of the jobs I did a few days ago. There are things I do anymore that I can't stand but there are some things that I really love to do and still find fun. FIne trim and custom carpentry is what I like.
This is a custom built-in bookshelf, a TV will sit on the left. I gave her a little arch above the window. Ladies really like arches she was tickled pink

Must be different interpretations in different bible versions. Version I looked at says nothing about kids. Maybe the following would be more to the point:

It's not a translation issue, I understand that you meant I should be careful to be prideful and boastful about myself.
Kind of a brain twister. I don't get it. How can you be well pleased with your children but not proud of them.
Things that make you go hummm.
I am pleased and proud of my children. Even though my one of the three is not much of an achiever. She does beautiful work decorating the cakes at night... I am pleased and proud of her as well.
I'll be doing some videos of me singing in the next few weeks, they'll be all covers for right now, I'm going to start working on playing an instrument and perhaps writing some music.
Ulrich, I understand your point of view, and let me say this, I don't care about being rich, known by all Americans and a top 40 artist, that's not me, I would say I'm considered a "Indie" artist in the the subgenre "big band/pop" I think top 40 is overrated, if I make a decent living doing music so-be-it.
Brent, thanks! I'm a far way from that right now, but someday hopefully that will happen!
I get the point on not being "THAT" guy, you know the one that goes on and on to everyone that will listen (and the ones that don't too) about his kids and how wonderful they are and how much they've accomplished, but I think it's perfectly fine and healthy to tell your kids your proud of them.
Like I said that guy says that, doesn't mean I agree with him.... perse.
Steven I got a little advice for you my grandfather once said to me.
If you're going to try something out don't go in half hearted. Give it your all. Aim high shoot high. Have high expectations for you're self in whatever you do, otherwise why bother.
You will know dabbling with music if you have talent or not within a year after giving it your best shot.

More sage advice...... .... Decide what path you will follow, and stay on it .
Which reminds me.... We decided the Diner will be in Alaska this month.... I would think that would be the primary focus of our convesations... How many posts so far are on that topic ?

Yep good call Garry
Yes Alaska I've always wanted to go there. For the most part I'm in the diner I guess I'm here.
From what I've heard Alaska is light all the time some parts of the year and dark all the time some other parts of the year. I don't know if I could hang with that.
I've been looking at some of the Alaska locomotives and cars on eBay. I have been contemplating whether I want to add them to my fleet. I do believe they will fit in my Great Northern Northern Pacific region I am modeling.
Here's another one.
I don't know if it's true but I was speaking to someone visiting in the cities that was from Alaska. He said it is illegal to lock your car in some towns in Alaska because polar bears straying in through town is common. You may need to jump into a parked car to gain quick safety from being eaten by one.
I don't have a hard time believing this. Polar bears are hungry and are a stocking type of bear.

I come here for the trains!
Here's a railroad job you don't see often in the "lower 48".
Willie Washington sure is having fun
Cheers, Ed
Track Fiddler..... Thanks .
I was in Alaska about 25 years ago. Most of my photos were lost long ago. The few remaining are not very good. ... I did ride in the locomotive cab of the passenger train from Anchorage to Fairbanks and in the cab returning on a freight train.
Here is the daily passenger train from Fairbanks arriving in Anchorage.
Edit ..... Ed.... Thanks for sharing the video link ... I'll look at it.
We are back to talking trains again! Good!
I dug around in the depth of the WWW and found an interesting video on the rail history of Alaska. It´s a bit lengthy, but if you find a spare 1 1/2 hrs. it´s worth watching it!
Right now, our weather feels more like a place in the Carribean than way up north. Hamburg is just 0°46´ south of Prince Rupert in northern British Columbia - not yet polar bear country, but close! I must have polar bear blood in me, as I can handle cold better than heat.
Track fiddlerPolar bears are hungry
... and anything moving is considered food to them! They are scary animals, but still so cute!
I have reserved reservations for an Alaskan fall Cruise. It has been one of those I'm going to do it someday things.
My Grandfather did two trips before he died. The fall Alaskan Cruise when the whales were surfacing. The Hawaiian trip when the surfers were surfing... (that was a funny). I will do the Alaskan cruise when feasible.
The further you travel north the more beautiful it gets....Yes Alaska
Thanks Ulrich... I enjoyed that video. Polar bears sure do look cute and nice in a peaceful environment.
It is hard to believe that the skin of an adult polar bear is actually black and that the outer hair is translucent instead of white!
Edit:
Here is today´s weather forecast for the coming days:
The temperature readings are a little on the conservative side - you can add up to 5 degrees (Celsius) in direct sunlight.
Morning diners,
