Good Morning1
From the looks of it, it´ll be going to be a pleasant day! At least speking in terms of the weather - who knows what my drill sergeant is up to today?
She keeps on telling me I am her best patient, making good progress. I don´t know about being her best patient (I bet she tells that to just anybody), but there is progress. I can now climb the stairs without help, going down the stairs does not yet work on my own.
My friend was over at my place and we tried to link up my email account. To cut a long story of fruitless attempts short, the linbk is made, but I still cannot get into my mailbox
Today´s video is about a little engine that was ...
The Saxonian class IK 0-6-0 750mm narrow gauge loco was the first loco to be in service on the various narrow gauge lines in the Kingdom of Saxony. From 1881 to 1892, 39 of this minute locos were built. They soon proved to be too weak for the rapidly growing demand. The last one was scrapped in 1929.
Beginning in 2006, a fund raiser for building a replica was started and in 2009, the loco entered service. Total cost to build the loco was about $ 1.2 mio.
Enjoy & have a great day!
Evening Dinners
Flo, Beer Please.
Should be in a great mood!
1 While I am confused about the current pricing and spiff program, I did get full spiffs on my sales. For me, it is a nice paycheck!
2 Wife called me at work. Seems Bank Of Stupid sent me a check for $540.00 that I did not know was coming.
While the apx $700.00 helps, I still just have so many things I need. Need 2 sets of tires, we are driving on Will Pop's. Plus I need to pay some taxes and fix the Air Ride on one of the old Town Cars.
YGW Yes I have been onthe other sides of the fence. I will send you the depress photos in a few days. Yes, I have been worried for some time about what you said and I knew it was happing. What I need is a friend with a Bull Dozer. I had one, but he past away.
Galaxy I do not feel bad about calling Dave a Drunk! Far as I know no one made him to take his first drink just like my self. No one made me drink my first . It is a disease of his own making. If or when I get the Big C from smoking, well you may be sad I have it, but it will be my own fault. That is I how I feel about Drunk Dave at this point. Does not help I had to clean up after him for 2 years either.

Sir Madog RideOnRoad Ulrich: You need to some spend time in Arizona, especially in May and June when the humidity is often in the single digits. Even now, during our "humid" season, it is only 37%. Right now it is over 90% here. Everything´s just sticky - yuck! Galaxy - I have not been able to reload my email program since my computer crashed the other day. It´ll be fixed this evening by a friend, who is coming by to help me get that up and running again.

It is 48% here in the house, which is less than outside right now,but still higher than we'd like inside, and that is with the A/C going, and a dehumidifier running at night...
Ulrich, I wondered about your email as you usually reply even if negative to what I say...!!!

Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, just need a refill of my Seneca Lake Blend Dark Roast coffee. Thanks!
Looking at the weather site earlier I saw a line of nasty looking thunderbooming stuff going across NYS.... I decided I better head out the door and see how much more I could get weeded before I got drenched. I came back in when it started sprinkling, just in time. Pouring out there at the moment. I think most of the thunderboomey things are going just to the South of Geneva at the moment.
The weeds have been growing great in the raised beds. I need to get them pulled and hit the garden plants with a side dressing of urea to get them greened up and growing like they should. Should be able to do more this afternoon after the storms leave the area....
My Mackie nearfield monitors arrived last evening. I got them out and hooked up to the TV. Checked them out by watching a DVD of W. C. Fields in "The Bank Dick". The car chase at the end is a pure riot! So.... At this point I can say the whole thing works and can now just shut it off for when company comes and needs to see idiot stuff....
Now all I am waiting for is the rest of the furniture to be delivered.
Hope that those suffering from the heat wave find a cool spot to relax!

JaBear - PLEASE bottle some of that cool air and ship it here. We are in the 90/100 temp.
up831 - Sorry missed teh question. The cabinets are made by "Merrilat" a local manufacture in Va.
Galaxy - land ? what land I can stand between the houses and almost touch both !! For the life of me I do not know how they live like that !
Jim - Did your boat get damaged this weekend ?
Richard - plunk - plunk - plunk ... just in case you missed the banging on the piano
Ken - One other concern I have about teh fence failing is the reason it may be failing. Is teh dirt sliding down the hill? If so you may have bigger problems than the fence slipping down hill. If you are loosing dirt mass on the pool side then you are loosing structural support of the pool. Which can lead to wall cracking on the pool. Have you looked on the other side of the fence ?

Sir Madog Good Morning! I wasn´t feeling too well yesterday, so I spent most of the day propped up on the sofa. It´s rather humid these days, which is giving me problems. I should move to a location with a dry climate, but that´s not to be found in my country.
Good Morning!

Ulrich: I commiserate with you. I am asthmatic, and my lungs have been damaged, so i cannot process heavily moisturized air! I had a surgery on my stomach/esophagus to stop gastroesophageal reflux from draining stomach acids into my lungs both at night {even though I slept on a bank of pillows} and during the day. And then about 5 years ago, I had a REAL bad case of pneumonia, you may remember I was hospitalized for 3 weeks with THAT. That scarred the lung tissue too.
SO moist air and I don't get along. I have 3 inhalers and a nebulizer machine to help out. Oh, yeah I USED to smke but quite that noise {before the pneumonia] a decade ago, knowing it was not helping my situation.
Now Only MOH smokes, who is supposed to quit, but I ain't seeing it happening! Only smokes outside so I don't have to deal wiht it.... I didn't know until I quit how bad it actually does affect others around you, {the smoker}.
So now, I am firmly anti-smoking.
If I can't breathe well on a good day, why damage further with smoking?
I believe unless something else happens to me, I will probably die via lung/breathing issues.
It also won't help my {light} cardiac issues.
Neither my pulmonologist nor my cardiologist would be happy if i started smoking again.
it will be humid with rain later on today here. It seems to be the mantra of the weatherman here! SOme rain passing through.
PS ULrich: i sent you a regular email last week did you get it? you didnt' respond?
Good Morning Diners,
Flo, I'll have my usual enormous cup of coffee with abundant amounts of cream, please.
We're back in the daily grind. Yesterday started off fine, I forgot my badge for work. You get accustomed to having the things around your neck and then have a break and you forget it was ever there. Well, not today. It's right where it belongs.
Reading the review of the Kato GP-35. For models, it is a nice sized loco. Small enough for tight radius curves and doesn't look out of place on a 10 car train. Funny how that works between compressed model space and prototype space. Anyway, I guess my point is that I always liked the Santa Fe blue and yellow bookend scheme, which was the reviewed model. Clean simple and yes, attractive. I think that's why the UP scheme was so successful.
i hope everyone is OK and safe.
Jim (with a nod to Mies Van Der Rohe)
Cheers, the Bear.

Today's word:
Well,
It will soone be 2:30, so I'd best say my Morning greeting.
SO:
GM, MEN!
Tuesday, july 21 ALREADY {the summer is flying by and we waited SOOOOOO LOOOONG for the bitter cold LOOOOOONG winter to be over!}.
After Labor day, all bets aree off about the wamer temps, even though the END of summer is notuntil the 22 of Sept, the day after or week after labor day it drops by 10 or 20 degrees here and stays there, only to get colder...only possible savings grace is that labor day is very late this year {the 7th}. That's why I HATE when My B-day rolls around at about the fall equinox. It means ccold weahter is HERE, and the t-shirt day sof summer are definitely OVER. Long sleeve shirts are needed for sure the day after or week after labor day.
later
Flo, please and keep them coming.
Work Front Yeb, seems I been screwed but not sure by who? More than likely Drunk Dave. Seems 3 months ago there where meno's and new prices tag's for the Memory Foam Mattress I make 85% of my spiffs from. Drunk Dave was still the acting manager then and he was good at not sharing meno's or putting out price tags. Heck, half the time they went back to the warehouse in our store box. (No computers, prices tags come in what we call are store box)
C&N Charile and YGW. If I use the OZ-Post I will but the Kit for using a jack hammer and rent a jack hammer.
Scanned a few old photos of the backyard from when I bought it 23 years ago.
As you can see in this photo, the fence had a problem. But stupid old me never really looked at the mess from the other side of the fence.
The small Irish Wolfhound is Soyna, my first Wolfound. Th adult Wolfhound is Nora, we meet her owner at the Vet's and invited them over for a BBQ. Soyna was about 4 months old and still very small.

Good Evening Diners,
Brunhilda, I'll have a cup of Earl Grey tea with honey and cream, please.
YGW: I liked the home tour. Thank you for sharing. I also liked a lot of aspects of the designs, too.
Depending on your source, I'm guessing he cabinetry is semi-custom. White makes it a little hard to guess the mfr.
Anyway, enjoyed the pics and video.
i hope everyone is ok and safe.
Good afternoon, It is a beautiful day here in the North with puffy white clouds, blue sky and sun and a temperature of a high of 68 degrees. Just doesn't get much better. After two really good rains this weekend, the fire smoke has disappeared. Hope it stays that way.
The last time I had to be towed home on the lake was about 40 years ago when I ran an 85 HP outboard into a submerged boulder wiping out the lower unit on the outboard. Yesterday, lower than normal lake level and a narrows with shallow water claimed the plastic center hub on the 75 HP Merc I was using resulting in an other tow job. With the advent of cell phone service it is easier to call for a tow than it was 40 years ago when you had to wait for another fishermen to come by to ask for assistence. In spite of this set back, I did managed to treat some people to good fishing the last couple of days.
Did managed to do a little work on a C&O box car kit this past week. Found that I probably do need a no. 2 thread tap to attach the trucks. Will probably wait until I return to Ohio to do the treading job.
Richard, how often do you have your piano tuned? Agree it is a little boring listening to a tuner work.
Hope everyone has a good summer week this week.
Jim
YGW:
You already know you got an answer back form me.
Thanks for the pics. nice homes..I DO wish they had a bit more land aroudn them though...
I am going to hang out here in the back corner for an hour or two. The piano tuner is at the house. The result is worth the experience, but it does get old hearing the same note(s) over, and over, and...
Johnboy - "YGW., would like to see some of those homes you are describing"
Johnboy your email kicked back. I also sent you a PM. Please take a look.
Thanks
Lion - Nice photo
Howmus - the Howmus RR is banished to the cellar !! How do you keep the RR from rusting ?
Mr. B - so what are you saying you are just "stoned" ? I know what you mean. Some areas here you dig down several inches and trhem "boiinnnng" the digging bar vibrates in your hands. We dont grom potatos we grow ROCKS !
Up, Galaxy, Johnboy - Sent you a link from my site.
Ken - Loved the photo - where is that and what year ?
Zoe, I could use a refill on the coffee, please...
Another hot day here in the Finger Lakes. Currently 78°F outside with a high this afternoon of 87°F. Only good thing is the humidity will be less than 50% and the sun is out. Should be a good day for the solar panels!
I see the sweet corn stand has been set out at the strip mall around the corner from me. May just have to get a couple ears for supper tonight. Radishes and lettuce are ready out in the garden (I planted late this year). So tonight i will eat well!
Still moving stuff back into the living room. Most are items that will be in and on the Hutches and Entertainment Center. Might even venture down cellar to see if the model railroad is still there...
Have a great day!
