Good Morning!

What a night! We had a terrific thunderstorm in the wee hours of the day, accompanied by a torrential ra*nfall! The enormous hullabaloo woke me up at 4am and I am up since a big yawn!

Galaxy - keeping my fingers crossed for your  house hunt!

In today´s video, we accompany the former Royal Wurttemberg State Railway class Tssd narrow gauge 0-4-4-0 Mallet on its first run after extensive restoration. This loco is the signature engine on my favorite TV program "Railroad Romance".

Enjoy & have a good weekend!

Good morning ..

Ulrich ! ...... Happy anniversary to you and Petra! .... I hope your stroke recovery is doing well too.

Galaxy .... Best of luck house hunting. Hang in there, and the right one for you and Mrs. Galaxy will come along.

Ken .... Looks like root cutting is a big job.

Nice seeing everybody here. Are any of you fining time to work on trains?

I took time to work on track last evening. I'll return to Cincinnati in next day or two to get my Main Squeeze. Would like to stop for lunch or dinner in LaGrange, KY to watch more CSX trains, but that probably will not happen.

Happy Model Railroading

I really need to exercise my English more often!

Galaxy - it was great talking to you. Petra and I keep our fingers crossed for the house hunt. Speaking of that, we may have to move soon - my neighborhood makes me ill. We have neighbors who think they own the world - they are so noisy my BP goes sky rocketing!

I wish I could find us a small home at a place which is quiet and peaceful, yet offers all what we need to survive a day or two. Unfortunately, there are too many $$$ involved in that game Sigh

Edit: PM answer sent, Galaxy!

I haven't been doing anything with railroading lately. But I did get my 4 gondola, 2 hopper pre-order yesterday and also went to Michaels to buy 2 Woodland Scenics N Scale trees.

It´s all a question of the budget. Mine is very limited, leaving hardly any choice. I guess I have to stick around and grin & bear the situation.

Heading for the hay now. It´s still calm outside, just a gentle drizzle. I hope it last until I am vast asleep!

Have a good night, everyone!

Evenin' folks!

Janie, just a decaf please...

I had a great day!  The Division had a picnic (the second of two) to say thanks to those who worked the Convention last May.  In the process we saw 4 great layouts, had an operations event at one of them (if you have ever seen the NCE Ads, it was at the layout that is shown in their ads...), and a fine picnic with all kinds of great food.  On the way back home I stopped in the Despatch Junction train shop in East Rochester as he is now back open after the horrible fire that destroyed his shop in the old Despatch Station last year.  Got myself a trio of Accurail cars to assemble.

Ulrich, A most happy anniversary to both you and Petra.  Mai haben Sie viele, viele mehr !

I got a call earlier and was asked to usher at church tomorrow morning....  So....  I will be needing to get up early again.  That means it would be good for me to get to bed a few minutes earlier I think!

Prayers for all in need!

Good Morning!

Folks, thanks for all your best wishes! Gosh, I can hardly believe it - 31 years of being tied up in wedlock. That´s twice a life sentence in Germany Laugh

The big storm passed us by, so it was a calm night. South of us, it did a considerable amount of damage.

In today´s video, I´ll take you to the Karlsruhe region. We will do some weekend railfanning on the scenic Murgtal line, where a group of steam enthusiast run steam trains on weekends during the summer months.

Enjoy!

Good Afternoon!

We are back from our trip to the Restaurant (mind you, we have dinner here at noon). Instead of going to our trusted favorite Chinese restaurant, we decided to give this new Greek restaurant in town a try. The old one (also on our list of favorite places) changed ownership and is not open on Sundays.

To cut things short - we should have gone to the Chinese place! The food was not bad, but not good either. It lacked the extra bit of care we were used to from the old place. I am a good eater, but I was not able to clean my plate. A little less but better quality would have made this visit a memorable one - Sigh I don´t think we will go there again.

Remember "Man from U.N.C.L.E."from 1965? One of the episodes involves a Marklin (factory made) layout to make the man talk - see for yourself:

Gooooood Morning!!!

Coffee and the Sunday Breakfast Buffet please. Thanks you.

Happy Anniversary Ulrich and Petra!!

Another week of the usual, so nothing new to reportHuh?. Gotta run up to the restaurant and work on the dough mixer (commercial floor mixer) today so it doesn’t break. That shouldn’t take but a few minutes. Hopefully the rain stops and doesn’t start up again. I’d like to cook some country ribs on the grill this afternoon for supper. Got a recipe I'd like to tryChef. I’ll have to check the weather….

Well, well, well. All this actual experience with the post anchors has made me rethink my positionConfused. I have been thinking about a fence for years, but due to the location of the utility lines along the back, has made me very leery about digging holes. And since the fence would be a 4 footer….hmmmmHmm. Those anchors would solve a lot of problems.

I think I’ll just sit here and wait for Ray so I can argue with him about something I know nothing about but he does. He seems to like that (sarcasm). Speaking of Ray again, here all this time I thought we were both drinking this Marakesh(sp?) blend coffee, but when I looked at mine it turned out to be Sumatran. Hm. Morning all,

Flo coffee and toast if you please.

My wife and I are back from our trip to Gettysburg. Good to be home. Never fails though, you travel and come home to a laundry list of chores...*sigh*. Its been rather hot the last few days with that ever present haze hanging around the hills and valleys. I guess summer has finally arrived in mid-July!

Well I hope all are well and in good spirits.

Happy Modeling!

Hi Todd!  Thanks my friend.  I kinda like the RR Lanterns myself.

Actual Crosby, Stills, and Nash song is spelled "Marrakesh".  The coffee I get from the Natural Foods place downtown (bulk beans) is spelled "Marakesh".  Probably due to copyright issues....  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7XIL67QSME  Have no idea where the beans originally came from.  I don't argue BTW, and I'm never wrong!  Thought I was wrong once, but it turned out I was mistaken...  One of my usual lines out at the museum is, "feel free to ask questions about our equipment, or trains in general.  I have been told I am a wealth of little known and completely useless information..."

Just got home from church where I was one of the Ushers this morning.  The roof didn't cave in or anything, although I did have to do some explaining as to why I was there and not out at the R&GV RR Museum today....

Currently 79°F outside and about 105% humidity....  (71% but feels like more)  Supposed to have thunderboomers this afternoon.  I think I will occupy myself getting more STUFF put away out in the living room.

Have a great day, everyone!

I slept most of yesterday away. I can't decide if it was from catching up on sleep, or whether it was from clening out part of the shed out back the day before... It was a help to have my father helping, so now a big pile in front until Tuesday...It is moslty MY junk, combined with our junk...the garbage man willhave a field day on Tuesday.

SO NOW< due to the shed cleaning my back and legs are paying for it. Lots of unremittant pain. ANd my right knee, the good one, is also a pain, but better since I slept most of yesterday....

so that is my tale of woe...

I see Ulrich and Petra went Greek on us! Hope their finances are in better order than the country's!
