Yo, knuckleheads, don't forget to mention SCALE in your posts.

Folks,

I'm on a rant here, and I KNOW some of you are on the same wavelength. Because Kalmbach, in their infintie lack of wisdom, has seen fit to toss everybody from Z to G into the same roundhouse, a lot of time is wasted looking at posts that DON'T RELATE to what a person may be doing.

So, when you're talking about a locomotive or rolling stock or anything else that has a SPECIFIC scale, be kind enough to MENTION THE BLASTED SCALE. Don't go all girly and assume that everybody else can read your mind.

RANT OFF.

Y'all may now return to your regularily scheduled trains.

Let's see now..... On the grand "scale" of things I didn't consider this an issue until now. Now that this issue has been brought to our attention it may just tip the "scales" with regards to the posts we do. In fact it may "scale" back some of the responses we see.

I may have to "scale" the walls over this one.

Well that's 4 mentioned, who's next?

This is gonna put someone over the richter "scale"

Regards
Fergie
Sorry I couldn't resist BTW I model in HO "scale"

my scale is between 170 and 180. Unless I get the biggie size. Then it breaks 185.

As one of the knuckleheads, you've got a good point. I'm usually forgetting to state what scale I model in, assuming that everyone knows it's HO. I think a lot of us are so wrapped up in our hobby that we just ASSUME everyone else on the forum knows what scale we model in. Not true. So, good point.

Not to mention the scale in the boilers of your steamers!

Well, I see someone needs some "scale" anger management classes... As for my "scale" depends on which one I'm using. The one's at work can go up to about 25,000 #'s, depending on which one I'm on. But then again, I have no need for a "scale" as I am not not above 160 #, nor am I below 150 #. I do not have any steamers, so no boilers here.
OH... BTW, Bikerdad... Since you started this topic, why did you not tell us what "scale" you do? As for me???? HO ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought Knucklehead refered to an old type of Harley motor, either that or one of the 3 stooges...?

I once had scales, but Doc gave me an ointment and it went away....

G for me...[:D]

Thats the first thing comes to mind when go to a train shows and stores. Now wheres my scale? If your into small scales, could be a long walkaround and maybe you would find none at all. I have rode miles to find that out. I would be lost if I didn`t have the internet.

I think it's almost safe to say, that unless specificly stated to the contrary, the default scale here is HO. I however do not qualify, as I am in 3 rail O, but all of the regulars know that. Hang around here long enough, and it is possible to tell the players without a scorecard.[swg] Knuckleheads???[sigh][:O][;)][:P]

Knucklehead?[:0]
No. As someone who models on G, O, HO (primarily) and N, I resent being called a knucklehead! A trainhead I might be, but to me, a knucklehead is more closely related to a Stooge!

I may be one of the Knucklheads. But some posts are helpful to all scales. Some posts you can know it's not your scale by the Subject ie. A topic on 18' radius curves is dealing with HO or N. Another thing is to look at the person profile. A lot of us haave key info on what we model in there.

I don't want the Board split up by scale. If I only read the posts for my scale, I would miss out on a lot of good information, but I do agree that the posters should state their scale when it is appropriate.

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Ditto on Dschmitt!

There's been plenty of good info specifically asked for one scale but turns out to be beneficial in "multiple scales".

Keep it like it is! And yes, everyone it is a good idea to include scale when posting.

Try Dr. Angus's new diet its great! [dinner]

Yup! I've been guilty of ***-u-me ing that everyone knows what scale I am talking about, but many scales do have common ground. I need to think first if my post is unique to my scale which is HO

Well my foreground is BIG Scale at eye level unless i'm backed away from the table about 10 feet, then it's Small Scale, then the background is Small Scale, unless I'm up on the table, looking at it up close, then it's BIG Scale., then there's always the scales in the middle bath room and they always read BIG, and sometimes when my Hemroid is bothering me, it always feels like it's BIG SCALE[(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D]

welcome aboard Bikerdad. [:)]

idea - maybe the forum column to the left of the msgs could add an entry (under name, location, # of posts...) to include a scale indication ??? that way we'd all know what we are talking about, less memory required, and I wouldn't be the knucklehead [^][^][^] that you'd expect (I resemble that remark, HOHOHO)[:o)]
