Green, on legs and looks like a flying saucer landed in the clearing. Just now decided to do an internet search and discovered it’s a Futuro house.
Today I have a house warming/birthday party to go to at 1 and then…..no idea where the walls will go so I’m not gonna pour a foundation.

yes , the front end damage has been fixed !! Still have to paint the smokebox, add decals and weathering, but I'm waiting for the sound decoder to come in for it 1st. The speaker is already in the tender.
The other "thing" in the picture is the product of my warped brain with too much time on my hands. The mount for the can motor is the bottom half of a Pittman motor from a Penn Line loco. The plan is to install it in another Penn Line loco to replace it's Pittman. 2 screws and done! Maybe it will work, maybe not, but its gonna be fun!!

Well today I received one of the parts I needed for my mothers old Apple IIe. The drive controller card. I tested the card and it works like new. It's now installed. This particular machine is one of the early IIe's and had to be shaken down due to the problems that were inherent of those early offerings. Apple had all those corrected for the 1983 line. This one has had the original Revision A logic board replaced with a revision B board so it would be compatible with the expansion cards offered later. These wouldn't work on the original Revision A boards. These boards shouldn't be confused with the enhanced '"-A"' boards offered in later years. Those were in functionality Revision B boards. The only thing different besides the enhancements was the letter. One thing that made the early IIe's recognizable at a glance was the keyboard. White letters on tan keys as opposed to the black letters on tan keys that started in 1984. However that doesn't mean every IIe with black and tan keys was an '84 or later model. Lots of older IIe's got the newer keyboard when the keyboard had to be replaced as happened with my IIe.

I'm exhausted! Long day out at the museum with a large crowd today. Now that is a good thing as we depend on the ridership to pay a lot of bills around the place. But being busy, along with the cold weather has wiped me out tonight. The high at 1:00Pm today was 54°F and by closing it was back below 50°. One of our younger officers got the stoves fired up in the cabeese, but the one in mine (The old Erie Caboose) was either flooded or the control wasn't working right as it quickly got way too hot, so we shut it down after a couple of runs. That means I got to work most of the day in a cold caboose. All told a good day and a fun day.
Tomorrow I will be finishing up the w*rk on the booklet for the reunion. The ladies will be arriving at 11AM to help assemble them and get them ready to mail. We may go out for lunch after we are done to celebrate. Them I can turn my attention to other items on the waiting list.
Jeffrey, the photos of the old Apple IIe insides make me almost wish I had kept my old Apple IIc I had years ago. Almost but not quite...

Nothing much planned for the day, other than revamping my CV and searching for job openings - my favorite pastime! Never thought I´d have to do that again. Well, it is like it is - why not add a few couple of hundred of unsuccessful applications to those1,000 plus I turned in the last 4 years...

I found very few of anything else inside. Even the videos seem to shy away from the kitchen, dining and bedroom. The thing would be an awesome bachelor pad!
Suppose to get cold tonight they say so I best get the water out of the pressure washer pump today or buy a new one in the spring. No I didn’t get the house washed off either. Hey, next spring I’m gonna get the outside of this place spruced up…..ya. Next year. That’s what I’ve said for the last what, 5 years. You’d think I was a Cub fan.

Good morning. It's 53° with 97% humidity. The high will be 78° and it will feel like 81°. There's a small chance of rain today. with a Yesterday was a bad day for Mickey's cousins living in the kitchen cabinet. Two of them got caught in traps. One was on a glue trap and was very much alive when I discovered it trying to drag the trap away (and it was doing a pretty good job of it too considering it had only one foot to work with). A rap on the head with a small household hammer put it out of it's misery. I wrapped it up trap and all in a paper towel and asked my nieces husband next door to dispose of it as it's quite difficult for me to get outside without help. The second one got snared by a snap trap and was very much life challenged when I discovered it this morning. I wrapped it in a paper towel and as no one is home next door I put it in a plastic bucket and set it outside the front door. I checked the glue box traps and there was nothing of interest in them. So far their only customers have been a brown recluse spider (good riddance!) and a very unfortunate largish grass hopper.Well today I hope to get some more programming done on Native Fury. I'm sure there are bugs to be worked out. I usually work bugs out of the blocks as I go along but sometimes they creep into the code that ties the blocks together. I just hate to be playing a game and suddenly get a 'GOSUB WITHOUT RETURN' or a GOTO with no address to go to or something like that.

Just ran the vacuum in the dining room office to remove the cat hair and remains of hairballs on the carpet before the ladies arrive to finish up the booklets today.
I may actually get some time to do a bit of stuff down in the train room this evening. Time will tell. was having a backache all night. Almost felt like a kidney stone, but not nearly as bad. It went away after I got uip this morning and got moving around. I have a painful right thumb as well.... Must have strained it yesterday climbing around on the caboose all day. Guess I'm getting old. I tell visitors to the museum that all our equipment we have there are antiques just like the volunteers!

Currently it is 37 with an expected high of 70 under mostly sunny skies.
Had a great time with my daughters and sil on Sat. we made and ate some great food. Then went to a local farm and walked around the corn maze the make every year. A different one each year. That was a lot of fun also. Came back to the house and had Gellato to finish off the days eats.
Bad thing about 1:30 AM I felt a pain just below my chest, upper gastric area, and I could feel my BP pumping real hard, and my heart was racing. Took BP reading and it was 220/120 with a HR of 106. All very high for me. Kept checking it every 15 minutes and about 2:15 decided to call 911. EMT's showed up took BP and was still quite high so I went for a ride to the ER. By the time we got there it had started to normalize. Took a chest xray and EKG, those seemed to be fine, so they released me around 9:00 AM Had one of my daughters drive me home and stayed with me for awhile. BP seemed to start to stabilize. Called Cardiologist and have an appointment tomorrow morning to check things out. Feel OK, but better to know for sure. I was and still reluctant to get medical help, always thinking, "what if it is nothing." My late wife would then say "What could be better." Those words rung in my ear as I called 911.

We made it back from our trip to Utah, where among other things, we visited the Union Station in Ogden. They had an interesting train museum and a number of locomotives and cars parked outside. We were able to go into a Smoothside Railroad Post Office and a hospital car that was used during WWII to take the injured soldiers to an army hospital in Brigham City, Utah. They also had a retired gas-turbine locomotive parked outside. The sign said it was strong enough to pull a fully loaded train, seven miles long. I guess the noise was a bit of a problem.

Computer seems to be working OK now, so maybe I can visit more often.
PFC Son is back stateside at Ft. Bliss, at least for the foreseeable future. He was promoted to Specialist, so a few more bucks for him.
Grand kids are growing like weeds, all is good on that front.
Had a very BUSY spring and summer for work, starting to slow up a bit now. That's ok, I can use the time off to work on the trains!

Working on part two of Native Fury again. I've changed a few things. #1 when a direction is entered, IE S, the game responds with SOUTH, pauses for one second then executes the command. #2 In the middle of the circle that the homes in part two are clustered around is a large garden. Originally I had it labeled as Mr. Cable's garden and would advise the character to stay out of it. That just didn't feel right. So I changed it to Mr. Addam's garden. Seems like a good place to avoid. #3 in the kitchen of the metal house the character sees a large metal lunchbox on the kitchen counter. On the side is the label 'P. Addams'. Ring any bells? Gives me some ideas about what to put in the secret room. At present I'm starting work on the double-wide trailer next door (west) to the metal house. The plate beside the door reads 'M. Munster'. I'm planning on the character to see a large family portrait hanging on the wall as he enters. I'm gonna have some fun with this one!

Lot of folks drive in the passing lane about 5mph under and will NOT move over , when you finally work your way up guess what they are driving a Prius - no kidding. Go figure . 112 MPH amazing ! Hope your aches and pains get better.

Paul- Glad to know that it was only a "scare", not something serious, as of now...I had an imense chest pain once that turned out to be a "gas bubble" in the upper GI tract. I called 911 for help and MOH thought for sure I was having a heart attack. SOme nasty slimy stuff to drink, about like snot,{really} helped it pass. it knocked vitals out of whack a bit too. Now once in awhile i have that same problem but less intense, and wait for it to pass via massing.
Jeffrey- I tried those noline bifocals. I could only see things in the very top thin 1 MM and the very bottom thin 1MM, and nothing in between made an visual acuity at all. I traded them in for a regulaar pair of lined bifocals, my old standard. THAT I can deal with. MOH claims to get sick with the old standard lined bifocals and has to have the expensive lenses...cost about $500/pair!
Well dinner of chuck roast, smashed potato, green beans is over now.
Junque mail lots of it came today. I once donated to the VFW and Paralized Vets and now get a ton of mail wiht addy lables and mini 3-sheet note pads in the mail form aobjut anyh agency that wants donations. They obviously sold my name and USPS addy to these parasitic agencies. Feed the Hungry? I AM the hungry! Help the Disabled {NON vets} I AM the disabled! AARP wnats donatins to help the needy in their programs too! Guess what? I AM the needy of their programs! I probably qualify for these agency's handouts, and they want me to donate? Catholic Charities {local} sent me a card and wanted me to donate for their TG campaign, Well, Guess what I am doing tomorrow? Signing up for it!!!! I DO donate when I can, or when I feel "flush" and donate a few dollars where I can. but I can qualify for most of their programs...sned them a $1 and they will send you freebies all year long!
Well off to beddy soon, maybe a load of laundry first...funny I had all the laundry DONE except what we were wear ing as of Thursday. 3 days later we have a full hamper and at least 2 if not 3 loads...besides the bedding and towels loads. Amazing how we accumulate so much for 2 peoples!

LOL! But you see we lose gas mileage driving 112mph! I had only owned the PiP about 2 weeks when I drove it to Rochester, NY to the RIT Train Show. Sunday Morning I got off 390 North at Hylan Drive and stopped at the stop light. A big old van got stopped at the light going on the road I was turning onto. I got through the light and seeing the light ahead turning yellow, I just kept my speed to about 20mph (30mph zone) The Van floored it and roared around me, then slammed on his brakes for the red light. I pulled over into the other lane and hit the stop light just after it turned green. As I got through the intersection the Van roared past me so he could again slam on his brakes and stop at the next light! He was really in a hurry. This happened at every light (about 10 of them) all the way out to RIT. He kept trying to go faster every time. I think he got up to 70 a couple times before slamming on his brakes so he could stop for the light which I then just kept right on going through as it turned green. At a couple of them I gave him the peace sign as I glided past him... He was nice and gave me half of it back. We were both going to the same train show. He finally got a couple hundred yards ahead of me as there is no light for the last bit before turning into RIT. He took the first driveway in where he... Yep! He got to slam on his brakes to wait for all the cars coming the other way. I drove down to the next driveway and timed it so I could keep going across traffic into the college without stopping... He had just pulled into the unloading area and was opening the doors to his van as I got out of the PiP. Of course he got burn a lot more gas than I did I think. Years ago what you mentioned used to be all the snowbirds driving their Cadidlyacks to Fowiduh for the winter, passing each other doing 50mph on the expressway...... "Slow down! Your driving like a maniac!" I think AARP got that ad pulled within a week after it came out... I generally drive with traffic, but like to take routes where I will not have to put up with too many idiots doing stupid things out there. This time of year, during the rut, intelligent folks do drive considerably slower so they can avoid creating venison grease spots on the road....
We got all the booklets assembled and put into the envelopes. Just got an email that they will go out in tomorrow's mail. Now I have to put together the MLK Financial statement for tomorrow's meeting... I need a secretary!

Well I got the M. Munster residence programmed and a high old time I had of it too. It seems as a standard double wide trailer until the character gets inside. There's some of the funny parts of the Munster home in there. the kitchen is one. Grandpas bedroom is another and the sleeping quarters of one Edward Wolfgang Munster. But it's when the character searches the master bedroom that the character breaks the land speed record getting out of there. Seems there was this little thing with Herman sitting up in bed 'Excuse me young man, we'd like to have you for dinner.'. Somehow I think I would've left too! It wasn't a hard bit to program. Just thirteen blocks. But some blocks have up to ten lines of code and some variable lines of code. If a variable is set one way a certain set of lines are displayed and if the variable is set another way another set of lines is displayed. Some funny things are found too. A Vandergriff generator connected to a hair dryer (That'll curl your hair!). A large bucket of electric eels connected to a washing machine? Grandpas been at it again!
As I said earlier, I got the M. Munster residence programmed in. Next will be a three room cottage nearby. The cottage, porch, front and back yards and lake and road frontage will consume eleven blocks of program space and will likely take half a day to type it all in. No CADs or scanners for that old Apple computer. Scanners were the new toy on the block back when the //e was on the market (01/83 to 11/93) and there was little or no support for such a device on the //e's logic board. I don't think it was ever made available for the //gs either.Not much else went on today. My nurse came this afternoon and checked my foot out and said it's doing well.Time for me to call it a night. Well, whaddaya know? It´s a beautiful day outside! Went for a little walk this morning, which led me into "town" to get a few supplies I need to start w*rk on those background buildings. Not much, just two bottles of acrylic paint, white glue, two small bottles of AC - the gel type - and a set of new blades for my hobby knife. I am now set to start, but I need to wait for the plywood and the DAS clay to arrive.
Not much planned for the rest of the day, other than waiting for lunch. Petra´s in the kitchen preparing something smelling awfully nice.
YGW - the net of social security is knitted much tighter in Germany than in the US. The monthly "contribution" we get allows for a rather basic life, without any bells and whistles. Over 30 years I have contributed heavily into that fund, so I don´t have a bad feeling about it, But still, I´d prefer to have a proper job, so I could take out Petra for dinner, buy her an occasional bouquet of flowers and, foremost, go on a vacation with her...

Galaxy- I have been saying about our laundry here lately pretty much what you said. Only what I say is how can SHE generate that much laundry. As an example, I kid you not, I had all the laundry done Saturday morning except for just a few items. Like a couple dish towels and a bath towel I forgot. You know how that is. Kinda like after you drain the dish water you find that one glass. Anyway, this morning I find a pile of clothes and the hamper is full. It is at least two loads worth of clothing. Three days and among them are 4 sweatshirts and a hoody. Three days.
Just thinking. Maybe I do drive an economy truck. I mean with as much fuel as it burns and as much money as I spend on fuel it has to be good for the economy.

So far I have only a cottage planned but I may program in the house next door as well since it was here in the time period I'm using. While I'm using the basic description of homes that were then the room layout, their location in the community and their directional orientation differ. Some locations were here then, others weren't and some have never been. I'm using my own creative license.On the mouse front, none of the traps were tripped and there was nothing stuck in the glue traps.
Jeff - Its not the lines that bother me. Its the symbolism that bothers me. It means I am getting old and need bifocals , no disrespect meant to you or any one. Its just one of those things like your first grey hair...
Howmus - LOL ! Half a peace sign , that is funny. Venison grease ? That is the first time I have heard that ! That is pretty funny too. My trouble is not the light to light driving it is the highway driving. In variably there is someone in the passing lane driving slower than the posted speed and they just will not be considerate and move over for the rest of the 30 cars behind them. At any rate we all eventually get there.

Ulrich - Not knocking you on the job. Sorry if it came across that way. I just don't know how you do it. Years ago I was rear ended by of all things a very large flat bed tow truck. I was not allowed to drive for 30 days while recovering. I finally went and begged the doctor to let me go back to w**k ( I think MOH gave him a few dollars to persuade him too , to get me out of "her" house ) I was climbing the walls ! Driving MOH and kids crazy. Just about went nuts ! I cannot imagine 4 years !!! Oh Geez.

Well, this year I was busy w*rking on my political career, which was fairly short-lived. The past years were occupied by being a moderator in this forum, making plans of layouts I´ll never build and being a PITA for Petra, my wife of 30 years now.
