Just got finished eating my bagel....Late....It'll probably ruin my lunch appetite.

I was hoping to kit bash the two Funaro Camerlengo HOn3 combine caboose kits I picked up at the great scale model train show into a longer version and a bobber with the leftovers, I was just reminded by a friend that we had agreed to go shooting this weekend.

Oh well....With that and the honey-do's.... No complex train stuff this weekend.  sigh...

Morning gang!!Cowboy

Another sunny 70 degree day on tap for us here! Gotta finish an engine (almost) then get on the road to find the last needed part, then cut the grass(didn't get done yesterday) then clean off the workbench then,, then,,Arrrrrgh! Surprise

Lost a lot of time yesterday. Took Tinkerbell to the Dr. yesterday for a check up. Because of previous problems they wanted a urine sample. She had none! So I left her there, went to my LHS waiting for a call from the vet,,,went to another LHS,,,still no call,,thought about driving home,,naaaah, Murphy says I'll get a call as soon as I drive home,,went to McDonalds for lunch,,,no call,, read the paper in McDonalds..no call. Finally I said the heck with it, went back to the vet and lo and behold, she had just given them a sample!!

Left at 9:30 a.m. got home at 2:55 Indifferent My day and my attitude were shot!

Ulrich Glad to hear things went as they did. Will keep praying for continued healing.

Barry,, evil plan???,,,,,,,um,, hey Vinny!!!!!Surprise

Good morning. It's 59° with 69% humidity. It'll be cloudy with a high of 78°.

No plans for today. I may work on the layout later but nothing will be done this morning. I just don't feel up to it. I didn't get much sleep last night so I'm rather tired.

Good Morning!!!

Coffee please and I’ll hit the donut bar. Thanks.

A 20 percent chance of showers after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62

Ulrich- I’m very glad things went well for you and your Brother. I hope it continues.

Should finish up the restaurant remodel this morning. Remodel…I hate to call it that because it gives the impression a lot is being done. But, the “Boss” calls it that.

Might try to get the old Cub going if time before w**k at 5. Pretty much decided to replace it…..maybe. Oughta get rid of it while it's worth at least something. Depends. I don't know. Probably....., not.

Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Good morning.

Galaxy: I'll be nice and cover it this time. However, may be a while before I cover again.

Work tonight. Will get a little bit more of some scholarship work done tomorrow. Don't expect to be home from work early tonight. Will be preping for the long haul.

Glad to hear your ceremonies worked out well for your necessary closure.

GLad to hear your brother and you may have patched things up.

It often takes a loss to get a gain.

Life is too short to let things stand in the way, and now I hope you two have a united front against mother to deal with that may make it easier on you.

It was 10 long years ago since my mother's passing, seems like only last year. I miss her, but have fond memories of her. She will live on as long as I do in my mind.

have a great day, now that  one less worry has been lifted from you.

Good Morning!

Flo, just coffee for me - I ate too much for dinner last night!

It was good to have a chance to say goodbye to Dad. It was not much of a ceremony - just my brother and his GF, Christian, Petra and I. We lit 86 small candles for each of Dad´s years and a big one for his last journey. We had time for our thoughts and tears, with no one disturbing us. Later on, we went to the church in my hometown, where we had a moment for our silent prayers, accompanied by soft organ music. Given the bad circumstances, there was a lot of simple beauty in our farewell.

My brother invited us for dinner and we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant. We were seated at a table a little separate from the rest, so we could talk freely. When the proprietors learned about our loss, they decorated our table with white lilies - the Chinese flower of mourning. What a kind gesture!

Whenever He decides to close a door, He opens another one. My brother and I were able to put all those issues to rest which had been dividing us in the past years. We are much more of a family than we have ever been before.

Blessings to all of you!

Galaxy, you may want to count how many posts are on a page, before posting your greeting. I don't recall how many fit on a page before it rolls over, but I think there is some magic number (other than yours, which has seemed to be coming up a wee bit toooo regularly lately). Oops (Not to stir things up.. but any word from YOH's other job interview?)

Jim- it has just been my luck to have that happen, that is all. Mayve the karma is coming back to me? I haven't had tsy in awhile, so...my turn.... i guess...

MOH went to the other job interview, and was told it takes 6 weeks before MOH will know an answer one way or the other...they do a thorough background check and investigate houshold members, neighbors, family members etc......like for gove't work!! Actually i think it IS a gove't agency that oversees the use fo the program.....so... we will wait til June then...!!!

MEANwhile, MOH FINALLY starts at the grocery store on Monday!!!!

Yee ha!

At least it is something!!!

Gidday All, just a banana milkshake, please.

JimRCGMO
Sorry about the mixup, JaBear - from the place(s) I looked up, they said something about ANZAC's first celebration of it happening a couple/few years after the actual battle. My bad. Oops Did I understand you correctly, that they will have a celebration at Gallipoli? I was thinking you were talking about your local area celebrations.

Nothing to be sorry about at all,Jim.  25 April was first recognised as Anzac Day in 1916, though the first "official" ceremony seems to have taken place in different years in the various Australian States and New Zealand. For many years Anzac Day waned in popularity and in fact became a day of anti war protest during the Vietnam era, continuing as a day of protest for anti nuclear and various radical groups. However since the late 80s there has been a vast resurgence in Word War 1 and its commerations especially by younger people and not only in local commemorations, but since then it almost has become a rite of passage for young Aussies and Kiwis on their Big Overseas Experience to be at Gallipoli on the 25th.   It is now got so big that the ballot system has to be introduced. I will be at the local ceremony down here in the "village".

(Hey, that's some heavy-duty steamers there!)

Funny you should say that ,Jim. Last club meeting a new member was commenting on how big an NZGR K class locomotive was ( the photo was taken some time in the early 40s standing beside a "J" class, the approaching loco is a "K"}.

He wondered if a "Big Boy" was much bigger???  We said "YES" !!!! and quoted a few figures, but I decided to do a visual comparison, and surprised myself!!!

The MP15AC was added for perspective as a model HO Atlas was the new members first purchase.

Here's a link to New Zealand locomotive classes for anyone who maybe interested.........

My Grandfather joined a cavalry regiment in 1914 but as the result of a training accident was invalided out of the British Army in 1916. He was a" fire watcher " in Birmingham England during WWll. My Dad was in the British Army during the Korean War but did not serve abroad. I look at the casualty lists of the First World War and wonder if it hadn't been for my Grandfathers accident, would there have been, a Bear ??? Both my Grandfathers sisters lost their "beaus" in the conflict.

Whistling

G'd evening gang,

Vinnie, sure glad to see you put the rush on those "Pie Throwers" from the East, they seem to be a rowdy bunch.   Teehee.

Chloe, I'll have my regular HC. and cookies before bed, thanks.

I'm working three in a row right now, finished two and one to go tomorrow.  Took a few minutes this evening  and did a tune up on a FT3A that was growling quite a bit and now is as quiet as my Atlas locos.  Must have done something right.  Then I changed out some couplers on a Bachmann (NP) SD40-2 and glued the handrails in a few spots that had worked loose.  That was the extent of it tonight.

Ulrich,  good Buddy,  glad your day was as good as it could be and that your Brother was there with you. I think that was very important for now and in the future. Something you did together. I am sorry about your Mother's situation, but all that you could do was done and she still has her free agency. It is sad that some of the thought processes don't seem to be on track but we have no control over those.  Glad you felt better in the evening and hope you can start to be kind to yourself. Rest well.

Ray,Have a great Canadian Week-end. Hope all goes well and you have a wonderful time.

I like the work a lot of you have been showing, I have to get the camera and puter working together and get some of my pix posted.

Having a hard time keeping my eyes open, so you know the direction that I'm going.

Prayers and blessings to all.

Evenin' folks!

Janie, just a refill on the decaf please...

Day turned out to be mostly sunny and a high in the 50's so it was actually a fairly nice spring day in these parts.

Went over to the troop meeting tonight and sat in on some of the Scouts doing requirements for Communications Merit Badge.

Have most everything packed and ready to go for the trip this weekend...  I will probably stop in for morning coffee and then won't be in here until Sunday evening.  i could take the laptop with me, but I doubt I will find time to even turn it on.

Hope you all have a pleasant night!  Prayers for everyone.

 Evening Folks

 Flo, Beer Pleases.

Well I am off Friday and Saturday! Big Smile I had Sunday off as well, but due to a Foot Ulcer Clinic appointment Tuesday I had to give up the 3 day weekend. Sigh It was all most risking to have the Toe cut off for a 3 day weekend!

Not sure how Friday will go. I have to go get fitted for new Diabetic Shoes, my current pair is worn out and causing ankle pain from my good foot. Seem my left ankle has bone spurs and causes me to step just a little odd and I ware the heel out at a angle. That starts causing pain in the ankle. Last time I was there, it took around 3 hours, hope this time it goes quicker.

Next I have to pay for the Darn Lawnmower Repairs and have it delivered! Repair bill with pick up and delivery is $150.00! Bang Head Darn thing is only around 1 1/2 years old and cost $350.00. My old Central Hardware mower was 20 years old when it died, and was never repaired! New mower needed a new carb.

Saturday will be mainly about trains! Big Smile I hope! Whistling

See you all later, I am beat.

Didn't get any cleaning up done on the layout. In fact I made more of a mess working on the GP40 and GP38.

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

You swapped the frames?

Hey! We got a WINNER! You get an extra piece of pie! It's a Bachmann GP40 shell on a Bachmann GP38 frame. While the frames are very similar there are minute differences. But you have to be really sharp to catch them. It's pretty hard to describe. You have to see them side by side for it to be apparent. The other loco is a Bachmann GP38 shell on an Atlas GP40 frame. It just looks better there than the GP40 shell did. The GP40 shell went onto the GP38 frame with no modification. And it's a tight fit too.

Ulrich, I'm happy that you had so much time to be together with your father.  My own Dad passed away at an early age from what was likely a smoking-induced cancer, when I was only 23.  I regret to say that I never really got to know him as one man to another.  After he passed on, my Mom was never the same, either, so in some ways I lost both parents at the same time.  Count the days you did have with them as a blessing.

On the other hand, my wife's parents are still going strong, living independently in a second-story walk-up condo, right on the beach in Florida.  She's 92, and he's 96.  I think their stubborn independence has kept them not only alive, but thriving and still mentally young.

Yes, I'm happy to say that no actual trains were harmed during the production of that nightmare.

Hello.

Jeff, is the body shell sitting a little high on the frame? The truck-body distance doesn't seem right to me (maybe I'm just that used to Alcos Surprise).

Allergies are obviously kicking in. Headache hasn't cleared up yet, and my eyes are itchy. Also feeling a little congested.

Jeffrey, Is it the too-small windshield on the Bachmann GP40?

Oh no. This is much harder to spot. You might have to strap on a couple of microscopes. It has to do with the shells relationship to the frame.
