Mowing season has started. Grumpy Blackie the Mower is humming right along.

Well, most of the snow *is* gone now, and at the moment it *is* 70 grees outside, but not all of the icebergs have melted yet. Maybe this week I can get some fertilizer/weed control down.

Evening guys

Got most of the BN and RI DW boxcars stuck together. Still waiting on paint to dry on the touch-up parts (I also spray the backside of the ladders).

In other train news, I may have found a bunch of various P2K Gp shells for cheap. Like 5 bucks a shell, minus any details, glazing, fans, etc. But the kicker is he has undec GP20 high-hood shells. These have the extra step that I've been modeling (using a custom-made bracket and cannon steps; it's a pain) and have solid pilots. I could use one for my GP5, and most (if not all) the BN GPs had these type of sills.

Ken, I detest soldering too. But I don't think the GP30 ever came without an 8-pin plug. 4 out of my 5  have them (the other one being DCC/sound), and it turns out a DH163L0 or D165L0 works with the factory bulbs. I switched 2 to LEDs. The other 2 I run in the middle of a consist (so no lights on).

Chris, I have 4 of those boxes, 1 each RF&P, BAR, EL, and WP. Western Pacific also had some and I think Canadian National had them. I didn't know about the DW cushion underframe being a direct fit. Strangely enough the underframe on the LL cars has lots of the same cushion parts, minus the extension. I think I may be able to cobble up an extended coupler box for them.

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

I'm wondering on whether or not I want the P-51's cockpit open or closed. it'd make a great diorama, either way.

I didn't do much today. Put a few things away. Pulled the rear number boards on the Pathmark GP40 and cleaned the silver paint off them. They came painted over from the factory. Now they look much better. I like seeing them light up when I run the loco in reverse. They don't have numbers but they didn't have any in the first place so no loss.

Time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Howdy everyone !  I've been "stickin' my head" in the door for along time now, so I thought a Saturday night would be a good time to come on in, and say hello.

A light beer in a frosted mug would be good, my dear, if you have one, if not, I'll take a long neck of whatever is cold.  Don't worry, I discovered this place is within walking distance.....so.. hows everyone tonight?  ... You can check out my profile, and read all about me,  which seems to be the "hot topic" in another thread I've been watching.  You can check out my links below, which you have to copy and paste, as I haven't figured out yet as how to make them "click-able" (is that a word ? )    I bet Jeff could show me how, if he's in here yet tonight, I know it's getting late.

So I'll just settle in, and join the conversation!

Evening, Janie, sorry for not saying something when you came on-shift. I was distracted with trying to figure what trim colors to use for my Merchants' Row buildings. Could I have a hot fudge sundae and a  Rio Grande  mug of decaf, please? Thank you. Smile

Mr. B., that discount sound really good! (Except for their not having the NESL wood) You made a pretty hefty haul, sounds like. BowYeah Enjoy all the scratchbuilding adventures (or do you already have some structures/ships in mind to be building?). And I was going to ask you if your 'story' was like somebody told me when I was in the Navy (about the difference between a fairy tale - "Once upon a time..." - and a sea story - "This ain't no ****..."

V8Dennis, there should be a setting in Firefox (under privacy, I think) where you can set the history to clear when Firefox quits. I suspect your error message at startup was something on the order of telling you that it couldn't restore the tabs from your previous session. You can usually safely ignore that message, and click to close that tab, then  open a new tab or window. Some of your difficulties may be that you have not a lot of RAM (memory, vs. storage, which would be your system's hard drive space...), and multiple windows can slow down Firefox in that case.

Couple of questions for you that will help get things running a bit more smoothly:  1) How much memory does your 'puter have (MB or GB)? and 2) Which version of Firefox do you have? Though I'm not a Windows guru, we have enough in here who should be able to give you more specific help from there (for example, Jeffrey, CajunChef Ryan, or CDN Dennis). You could go to the Firefox website (www.mozilla.org) and look up what version of Firefox they recommend for XP (and/or your system hardware/limitations)

Packer, maybe your #2 date was either up for a challenge (possibly with an angry streak?) or kinda interested in you (or maybe even a bit of both)? And where'd you find these gals, if I may ask? Smile, Wink & Grin Good luck, anyway.

Rob, on your pasture grass - were you wanting the grass for your critters, or was that kinda like those of us Diners who have yards to mow, and you really would prefer it not to be growing as quckly? (Hopefully, the former is the case...).

Broadway, while Ctrl-R (Command-R on a Mac) will work (and is preferred by us keyboard jockies), if you try F5 on a Mac, it controls the backlighting on my MBPro's keyboard..) Wink Besides, since many Windows users are used to using three fingers (for BSOD), only using two fingers shouldn't be a problem, right? Mischief Oh, one other caution for your soldering iron directions - "don't drop it on your furry belly, or it will singe your fur!"  (Hmm, he wrote "...always hot and waiting for me..." - sounds like a thriller intro for an old black & white horror movie!)

BN Gary, you know that the prototype SR-71's had/have more of a flat black (earlier stealth principles) appearance, right? But if you like the glossy finish, have at it!

Chris, it sounds like your new co-w**ker guy may not be much competition for the sports stuff (THAT editor may send him to the gallery openings, local high school plays, etc...). You're sure that your CFO didn't get in and mess with the gal's references?Whistling At least they're only (for now) hiring one person, so that shouldn't cut into your number of assignments very much. Right?

Welcome to the Diner, Mike B. (mbinsewi)! Sounds like you have an advantage on modeling your RR, with it being close by your area. What scale are you modeling in (and I'm guessing you might have it set in recent times - or am I off on that)? Fill us in a bit.

I think I found some previous Diner introductions and such that were posted earlier to familiarize yourself a bit with things here:

The usual 'schedule' for our virtual servers is Zoe - breakfast shift and weekdays, Chloe - dinner and night shift on weekdays, and on the weekend it could be Janie or Flo or (what's the newer gal's name, Diners?) (But all of that is subject to change if the twins - Zoe and Chloe - need to cover for one of the other servers. The Diner's cook can fix most anything you can describe (depending on how game you are to eat it if it's a new dish...). There's several booths, including one on the corner window, with a good view of the tracks for trainfanning, plus several tables and the usual counter. In the back there's a pool table and (might need some dusting off) a simple RR layout table, if you don't have company to talk with (like in the wee hours of the morning). In the winter time, you can warm yourself by the woodstove (it's toward the back).

Oh, one other thing - if you post the first post for a page (called the Top Of Page or TOP), you get to pay for the virtual food and beverage bill for that page. Zoe and Chloe will keep a tab for you, but don't get too late in paying, 'cause you don't want to have to talk with their cousin Vinnie (if you know what I mean...).

And just because a Diner patron is not moving, it doesn't mean that he or she has deceased on the premises. Some have been know to doze off for a few days (uh, Duke?...Zzz) after working hard at their day jobs. Oh, and in deference to some Diners who are allergic to the 'w' word (AKA 'w*rk'), we try to avoid using that word as much as possilbe.

If you're new to the Diner, it never hurts to fill the other Diners in on what kind of MRR'ing you are into - like scale, modeling freelance or a particular prototype, kind of layout you are designing or building, etc. We're a nosy friendly bunch, and it's fine to share how your day (MRR'ing stuff or other) has been, and we don't push religion or prayer, but if you want 'em, there are several of us who'll put in some for your needs.

Do keep in mind that this is a family establishment, including some of our fine teenage MR'ers, so watch your language, or Vinnie and Chloe will have the bar soap out for ya. If someone gets talking hot or heavy about kind of rant, there is a SoapBox in the corner that automatically will start creeping out and you'll find it underfoot.

That may cover most of the bigger stuff for you, hopefully. Feel free to ask any questions that you have, and somebody will fill you in - whether it's about MRR'ing topics, or other topics.

As for my MRR'ing today, I got part of the trim started on my Merchants' Row building this afternoon/evening; here's one of the walls:

On the section next to the right-end, I'm thinking some shade of blue for the 'ground floor' (below the greystone 2nd floor) and the molding at the top of that section. I think the store/bottom section on the right end will be white or antique white. Still have the trim in around the windows to do also.

Then while I was letting that dry, I started putting together the "Billy's Place" kit (another Main St. Heritage), which I may use for a small store of some kind (bakery, maybe?). I found that its size/shape is a bit like the DPM City Jail that I built a few months ago:

(The longer back stone wall is just set in place for these photos). Will need more cleanup on the 'brick' walls and the doors & windows, as well as coloring & weathering on the stone walls, of course.

Prayers will continue for those in need of healing, comfort, a good night's sleep, or other needs. (Wonder how CB&Q Garry's trip to the Southeast US is going?...)

Blessings and prayers,

Jim in Cape G. (where the wells are about full, and the frogs are looking for higher ground...)

I know Jim, I couldn't resist using the glossy. It looks nice, yeah I know they were dull. I always liked trains but I soon discovered an exotic taste for military aircraft.

Jake I have two choices "Old Crow" from the 357th FG and 363rd FS, or "The Millie G" 55th FG, 343rd FS. I might take a bit of creative license and do "Lou IV" which has a yellow nose D-Day striping and green/aluminum camo.

Thanks Jim.  I model in HO scale,  my grandson's layout is in the same room, a 4' x 8',  which is MTH "O" scale, so when he spends time with us, which is all of his summer school vacation, we get a chance to work on his trains.  Winter time is when I work on my trains.  My time period is the present, give or take a few years, as I'm a former WC stock holder, and a lot of my rolling stock reflects that. My railroad is like  a "bridge" operation, and named the "Great Lakes Central", not to be confused with an existing prototype operation in Michigan with the same name.  I've used the name since about 1982, which is before the current Michigan business began operation.   My layout is a small "L" shaped "dog bone" style, with a yard and industry  access via the yard and a "frontage" spur.  My mainline is about 50' of continuous run, and the rest of the trackage, including yard, transloading area, and industry spur, is about another 50' total.  I run freight and commuter trains, along with a few excursion / tourist "specials".  My layout is powered by a  DCC Digitrax Super Empire Builder, and for my DC favorites, not yet converted, I use an MRC 2400.  The two are separated using Atlas control switches, and when I'm using DC, the DCC is not even pluged in, and visa-verse.  No way do I try and run both, at the same time.. and no way can one power supply "bleed" into the other.

OK, now I know who Vinnie is, and trust me....I pay at time of service....no tabs..

Gidday Gary, What scale?? Great job, the rivet counters will be screaming "blue murder"but you've said it all.  I read somewhere, and there's no guarantee that my memory is correct, that over the Ready Room door at Kadena Air Base in Japan there was a sign, "Yea though I fly through the Valley of the Shadow of Death. Well

HALLO Mike!

Daisy..a Beer for Mike, please...yes, out it on my tab...

I guess 'bout time you said hello instead of hiding behind the door? Dun't worry {ala Ricky Ricardo}, you aren't the only peeper here.

Someone is bound to ask me the rules again for the newbies,, so I will beat them to the punch:

~ here in this thread ONLY , you can talk about things UNrailroad Related, like how your day went....what your puppy did that was SOOO cute...or how the kids/grandkids are doing...etc.

~ No profane language INCLUDING the squiggles to simulate it {##&*&*^}. There ARE children who read these forums and our hosts like to keep it clean! And, as my mother used to Say " you Can find a better way to express yourself".

~ NO politics or religion talk allowed..These are HOT topics{flame war topics} the .onlyest thing allowed is  the PRAYERS for those in need...I am "keeper of the flame" for the prayer candles. Since MOH {My Other Half} also has ministerial duties, I actually DO light and say prayers over the prayyer candles. {A while ago I thought I had too many going for folks here..SO Now I only light one general, one for the guys here and maybe one special one if someone lost a loved one here}. {SOMe DO mention CHURCH here as they do work there...so they relate part of  their working day...but NOT a religious discusion, please}}

~ No other FLAME WAR Topics - If you are a member of the forum enough, you know such threads happen, NOT HERE. {There is the "no biography" thread going now for those who don't know what  flame war is}

~Posting Pics...you MAY post pics, even UN railroad pics, BUT limit them to 1 or 2 per posting..OUR HOSTS ASK THIS,... they mumble about bandwidth or something....

~ The diner gets closed on the last day and  reopend  as a new thread  on the first- so look for the new thread the night of the last day or the morning of the 1st. {again bandwidth or something}....it gets "moved" "elsewhere" across the USA or the globe...maybe "coming to a town near you"?!?!

~ if you get top of the page posting you have to "buy" all the other members who post on that page's breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack...A "virtual" Credit card" will suffice, OR you can pay "cash"! Don't forget the TIP for Flo, Daisy and the rest of our wait staff!!! It's just a tradition here....{NOTE; so no one gets confused: NO MONEY CHANGES HANDS HERE IT IS "VIRTUAL"}

~ There are NO CALORIES, diets or the like here...eat WHatever you like, and as much as you like....again..its "virtual".

That should about cover it ..they are fairly simple rules....

Have a great day...

{whew NOT top again}

Lunchtime in sunny Germany!

Flo, steak sandwich and a mug off coffee, please!

I spent the morning finishing the drawing of that HOn30 layout. While the On30 version is certainly more appealing, the Ho version requires only a third of the material and thus only a third of the cost. I had more or less already shelved that plan, when I ran across the Minitrains website. They have a cute 0-4-0 tank loco of Austrian prototype, which would make a nice loco for that island railway.

Ain´t she sweet? Supposedly a good runner, too!

The plan is now finished. I have to admit I cheated a little by scaling down the view from the On30 layout.

Each "box" measures only about 10" by 18" - quite handy, should I move to Berlin in September...

Have a good one, folks!

Good morning. It's 65° with 100% humidity and a small chance of rain. The high will be 80°.

The plan for today if you can call it that is to clean up the layout some. When I can see where things are without having to hunt for them will be good enough. Other than that I'll watch some movies and maybe catch up on my sleep a bit.

Good Morning!!!

Coffee and the Sunday breakfast buffet please. Thanks.

A chance of drizzle before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 65.

Hey, where’s the Pabst? Oh, Mr B bought last night and it’s put away. No I don’t want one, waaaaaay too early. Just noticed it was gone that’s all.

Jim- I drink the pineapple juice first, then a couple swigs of coffee to clear the palate, a couple bites of rice, then the beef dish. Normally I wouldn’t have had the pineapple juice, but it was breakfast and….., I like pineapple juice.Wink

V8 Dennis- My computer does the same thing if left on for a few days even with IE closed. I don’t leave it open, I use the favorites thing. My old XP did the same thing but not as bad and took much longer to start slowing down. Like a couple three weeks. This one, IE10, will do it in about 3 or 4 days to the point every time I open or close the browser window or tab the screen goes blank for a couple seconds then comes on again. XP never did that. Very annoying. I also have Chrome installed and it does the same thing. Actually, in the past I’ve also tried Firefox and as I use the internet, I notice neither being any better or worse than IE. But that’s me and what I do on the internet. So  I just shut down and restart and all is well for a few days.

Mr B-  LaughI heard the same joke except instead of the railroad to Hawaii, it was world peace.Laugh

Lion said- Eh? THAT would take TWO fingers. Why not just press [F5]. ROAR”     Hmm   Exercise.  (chuckle)

Mike- Welcome

Well, don’t know what today will bring. No Chinese food as we had that yesterday. Nope, didn’t get Suki so Brenda was fine. She did wave hi from her area but didn't walk up to say anything, not much of a smile so I figured she was in a bit of a snit anyway. Saw her pointing and saying something to the other waitress and it wasn't happy stuff. I told Brenda looks like she could use a backrub, and when my fortune cookie said to be cordial,I figured .....hey, why not. Brenda didn't see it that way. Ahhhh to be orneryMischief. We got Jenny I don’t speak English so Brenda was ok with that and she actually kinda likes her now. She has learned to answer only what she asks and they get along fine. Brenda did mention she was talking up a storm, she actually said more than "Thank you real much" as she collected the bill and the plates. She said to Brenda “enjoy your day and see you later.” Whoa! She must have been really Chatty Cathy moodLaugh.

Rained yesterday also so I didn’t get the yard mowedGrumpy. I will todayWhistling. Probably try to start the tractor again. I make this sound like it is so difficult to start when actually I have not really tried anything other than turn the key and let it crank for a bit. Hm…Hmm..maybe I shut the gas off last year…Confused. Just kidding. It’s just been getting harder and harder to start over the last couple years and blows out blue when it fires, puffing some blue when it runs and hits a load, puffs when you load it with the mower (only at first ) then when you throttle up she’ll give a good chuff of blue. And, you have to fiddle with it throughout the year to keep it running good. Didn’t used to have to do that but hey, like I said it’s what, 35? 36? And never had a wrench put on it. Well, othern a tune up and the tweeking here in the last couple years. Might get a new one today, might decide to fiddle with the old Cub Cadet…..might not do either.

Buddy said last night his wife decided she wanted some cabinets in the new waitress station up to the retaurant so...jobs not done after all.

Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Morning All,

Currently 45 with an expected high of 85. Should be a real nice day outside, but I am sure we will have lots of people in the store anyway, which I do not understand.

Had a closing shift Friday, then an opening shift yesterday, which makes me really tired. Too bad too, because in yesterdays mail my Walthers order showed up. Four Digitrax UP-5 Panels, and a bottle each of PolyScale Depot Buff, and Depot Green. These are the colors I use for the railrods buildings, and I am going to paint the engine house. Was just too beat last night. I have an all day shift today, 10:00 to 6:00, so will probably be too tired to do any layout w**k after I get home.

Welcome Mike

  Prayers to all in need.

French Roast coffee in a STORMY SOUTHERN mug, please.

***Ulrich, that is a cute little loco indeed.

Been having lots of rain and some nice thunderstorms since last night. The farm is now a soggy mud fest.

Healing thoughts for those in need.

Cheers! Cowboy Rob

Garry: I have aP-51D myself, with the option to paint it as "Miss Kentucky State", a 332nd Mustang flown by Capt. Roscoe Brown, one of the few pilots to shoot down a German Me 262 jet. Will work on it when my P-38 is for the most part done and the Me 109 is completely done. Good morning. Will wrap up a few loose ends today. Nothing more.

Looks like little loco Ulrich, I wish that DB steam and train cars weren't so expensive here. I want a 2-10-0 and some cars.

Nice, yeah I want to get some ground crew figures and a small board to make a diorama. I was thinking of doing the "Blue Nosed -expletive- of Bodney" but the Lou VII looks far more interesting and makes heavy use of paints I have.

While rummaging through storage box we had never opened since we moved into this flat 4 years ago, I found a number of resin kits, which I had bought 10 years ago at a train show, for a layout project which never came into being.

Those are semi-flat background structures, made by a Dutch company. With the exception of the corner pub and tall building in the center, I have all the kits I need for the background!

The Dutch architecture is pretty close to the one in northwestern Germany - it takes only little to "germanize" them.

What a lucky find!

Afternoon guys

Been working on my trains. Got quite a bit done, but hit a few snags and am taking a break (before I get angry).

Kato CB&Q SD40 875 (should be C&S): turns out I could just file the nose for a spot for the nose light. So I did that, drilled the hole for the rear mounted brake wheel and am painting the brake wheel stand and wheel. Also I plated over the factory ratchet break as the C&S ones had the brake wheel. I have quite a bit of paint to touch-up on the nose area. Once I figure out which fixture to mount in the nose. (Garry, what type of light fixture was used in the nose of the C&S SD40s? Mars, Pyle, etc.)

Athearn RTR ATSF SD40-2 5119 (was Ken's): I got a DH163 installed and fixed the rear cup for the driveshaft (pressed it together and heated it up. I hit a snag when the bulb for the beacon died. IDK how it died, I attached one of the wires for it to the tab for the factory headlights, (whichever one would be the blue wire) and soldered the other wire to the green wire. I did this in my RS3 and it works fine. It worked fine for a bit in the SD40-2, but then I went to turn after some testing and then it went real bright and died. I'll check voltage for that later. As usual, the bulb broke when trying to extract it. I drilled it out, then stuck a new bulb in. Worked, but now I had some light leaks for it. So I went to paint it, and then the bulb came out. Pushed it back in, and too my horror, it took some paint with it. So I soaked it in alcohol for an hour and some of it came off. I just can't scrub the inside.

Athearn RTR BN SD40-2 8097: I manged to get a beacon on in the right spot, and light it with a bulb. Everything was going great until I went to paint the bottom of the beacon black (so light didn't shine from the bottom). Apparently the hole was a little too big and the black paint got into the housing. Same story as the ATSF unit.

I  may have some pipe cleaners for my airbrush left over I could try. Does anyone have any ideas to get the black paint out of the inside of the beacons?

Gary, You could say the SR71 is wet. I could check the one a couple of miles away when it rains (Air Force Armament Museum) but it's a unique SR71, the only one with an extended tail. If you do make a diplay of it on the ground, don't forget the oil/fuel all over the ground. The SR71 leaked like a sieve on the ground; but when it was at it's speed and altitude, the heat caused it's body panels to expand and it didn't leak.

Jim, The one that's still talking to me I met a few days ago. She actually approached me and told me I was "you're like, really hot. Wanna come over sometime?" I thought she was kinda cute, so I said "why not?'. The other one I met last year when I was walking my dogs. She liked playing with them, and I invited her over a few times. We don't talk much anymore. I still have 2 numbers from girls at work I haven't tried hanging out with yet.

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Yeah Vince, I've seen two of them out here. One in seattle and one in Mcmanville(spelling error). they were pretty dull, I think aircraft look better with a bit of glossiness like a car.

Afternoon, Janie - I'll have a hot fudge sundae (yep, again - never can have too much of these, well, maybe five or ten a day might be a bit over, but...) and a Santa Fe mug of coffee, please. Thank you, ma'am!

Mike B. (mbsewi), you have some nice photos of your layout, and all the more impressive after I saw the early pics of where you started. Great photography of your layout, as well. Bow I was figuring the layout was two or three times the size that it actually is, from the areas you have further along. Thumbs Up Oh, good idea to not get behind with Vinnie on any tabs; so long as you pay by the next day (or Monday, if it's a weekend), he won't (ahem...) "talk to ya...", but paying it off that day is even better. Whistling

Gary, the key thing (as JaBear pretty much covered it) is: do you enjoy whatever form of modeling (planes, trains, cars, whatever) you're tinkerin' around with. Thumbs Up I don't know what scale your Blackbird is, but I had one (guess I might've bought it in the 1970's, but not for sure), and I think it was maybe in the last five years or so that I got it out of the box it had been in and decided that it deserved a rest - was pretty worn, and I think was missing some parts, too). I don't even recall whether I used flat or glossy paint, either. Wink

And JaBear, I think I'd read that SR-71 slogan somewhere back up the road. Thumbs Up The crazy thing with those Blackbirds was, by the time the other country realized one was overflying their area (and could scramble any interceptors/rockets and such), it was already gone and a couple of countries past their borders!Laugh (Much faster and hard to detect than the U-2, which relied on its high cruising altitude to not get shot down, and in the long run, the missiles were developed that could reach that high)

V8 Dennis, I'm surprised that the sandbox didn't get stuck under your feet there. Smile, Wink & Grin But I won't get it back out by spilling any of my thoughts about California governmental officials...(but you might be able to guess...)Whistling

Galaxy, glad to see you mentioned the monthly relocation of the Diner (I forgot to mention that), and about the most delightful part of the Diner food (no calories or cholesterol or any of that yucky stuff!). And on the monthly moving thing, especially since that'll be coming up soon (like this next week!). And congrats on missing TOP again! Thumbs UpYeah

Ulrich - MiniTrains makes On30? I was only thinking they had iNvisible (and HorriblyOversized) scale stuff. Shucks, ya larn something new pert near ev'ry day in the Diner... (And that IS a cute li'l 0-4-0, alrighty!) Hey, finding those kits probably had you feeling like it was almost Christmas, eh?

Barry, your op session went until 4:30 a.m.?? Wow You & your friends there must've had to call in the wrecking crane from the other end of the division! Smile, Wink & Grin (So I gather that getting up this morning was a bit delayed?

Todd, do you think your tractor-mower will make it through this mowing season/summer? It does sound from what you said like it may not hold up much longer. OopsBlack Eye

NV Paul, sounds like they are about w**king you to death there - they do have other people they can put on the schedule, right? The old trade-off of "more hours = more MRR $$" vs. "More hours at w**k = less time to actually put time in using whatever you can now afford to get for the layout"...Sigh

Rob - if you had pigs, I'm sure they would be Big Smile with your weather lately. Does your sports car do well in the mud? Smile, Wink & Grin

Vincent - sounds about like you had your fill of fixin' your locos today. So, you're using the "cute dog" gimmick to get your dates, eh? Smile, Wink & Grin Hey, whatever finds you the right kind of gal...

I haven't been doing much MRR stuff today. Tried gluing the last two wall parts on Billy's Place (see my post last night for pics), but I need a custom clamp or such, I think, for that to line up and stay put.  Mostly piddlin' around with the internet - checking about possibly getting a used iPhone on deBay (but the prices on there are ridiculous, considering that I could buy a new iPhone 4S for $99 plus the monthly plan).

Just feelin' kinda lazy at the moment - may play a game on my iPad until supper time. I also want to run some stuff by my daughter's & SIL's, including a thumb drive with photos from grandson #1's 5th birthday party. But I'd better call first, and make sure they're at home.

Hope everyone has some fun/enjoyable stuff in their afternoon.

Blessings and prayers,

Jim in Cape G.

Nothing special. David made a remark concerning my photos of late and Vinnie let him know that he wasn't at all happy. Fortunately he didn't wrap one of his crowbars around the poor boy.
