Evening All,
W**k was OK. Mondays are usually not real busy, but today was even slower because of the s**w, wind, rain, and everything else we had untill about 3:00 PM. Then the sun came out and dried things up. It was still windy though, I made some angel hair pasta and vegetables with a garlic and parmesian sauce for dinner.
Finally got some w**k done on the layout.
Ptayers to all in need.

Man, I am wiped out! It's been a busy day. My fridge conked out this morning so I had to get a new one. It's a Haier frost-free refrigerator/freezer. Finally got it in place and operating around 6pm. I put my food from the old one in my nieces fridge while this new one gets cold. I had put everything up in the freezer of the old one so it could at least stay cool. It was still cooling a little. I'm gonna let the new one run for at least twelve hours before I put anything in it. I may be crazy but I ain't stupid. The price on it was good. $359. As usual lately my father paid for it. I don't know what he's expecting in return. He helped my nephew get it into the trailer. That was a sight to see. There's not much room in here at the best of times and with the two of them in here it was pretty tight until they pushed it into position. I'm guessing the power outage yesterday zapped the old one. There was a rapid series of spikes just before the power died. Fridge compressors don't like that. It fried one of my surge protectors too.Well enough about that. I got the front couplers on four of my FP7's changed out earlier. The primer gray, Rock Island, BN and ex-PRR each have a Kadee 147 in the pilot and they're spot on according to the height gauge. I have two more in the display rack that need to be done, both UP (one is ex-UP). Well that's all for now.Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Evenin' folks!
Janie, I could use a nice hot cup of decaf right now... Thank you Ma'am.
I am going to have a few muscles I have forgot about talking to me tomorrow I bet... I moved all the rest of the wood pile sitting in the driveway since last fall to the back porch. Should have been done last November, but I once again put it off and just moved wood as it was needed for the stove all Winter. Good news is I will have a couple face cords to start the season with next Fall like I did this last Fall. Means I went through just under 6 face cords this past Winter. I may fire up the stove a few more times if it gets cold enough at night, but won't be using a whole lot more wood probably.
Temperature got up to 62°F this afternoon. Was warm enough to w*rk outside without a jacket on since I was trying to work up a sweat anyway. Sun came out off and on much of the day. Enough to give me a 19.92 Kwh yield today.
Ordered some model railroading items today as well. Decided to give the Proto 87 Joint Bars (Details West calls them Railbars and has had them back ordered for about a year now) a try. They are made of Nickel Silver and can be either glued in place or soldered in place.
Today appears to be the start of Baseball for the little folks around here. There was about 40 SUV's, Pickemup Trucks, Vans, and 4x4s roaring down the street at the end of practice as the Helicopter Mom's all have to get the little urchins to the next scheduled activities in their little lives and then home so they can make up excuses why they didn't get the homework done for class. What amazes me is that they think they are getting wherever faster by driving 50 or 60 by my house from the ball park 500' down the road so they can all stop and wait in line at the intersection 500' down the road... Of course they only have to slow down a little at the stop sign to turn which ever way they need to go if no one is brazen enough to be driving down the main drag the street T's on at the time... Too bad some of the folks riding their skateboards down the street that T's onto the street with the race cars weren't out there at the same time... could have been an interesting scene with 5 or 6 skateboarders barreling into the path of the SUVs with both doing well over the 30 mph speed limit on these streets.... Anybody know the local # for 911?
Have a good night, and prayers for all in need!

Good evening. Apparently I had a hot spot blister on my right hand because after gym, I noticed a flap of skin (like a small cut kind of flap) on my right hand. Figured it was from the yard work. Prayers for those who need them.
Evening guys
I'm pretty bummed out right now. I have been trying to get a hold of one of my best friends for a while. She isn't showing up on Facebook, she won't answer texts or emails, and when I call it goes right to voicemail. I'm really worried and wondering what's going on. This isn't like her, and we've been talking for almost 4 years. IDK what I should do, my father is saying leave her be and she'll start talking to me again when she feels like it. I'm hoping she didn't go back to her crazy ex or something didn't happen to her... She was one of the few people I felt I could trust.
Adding to the above, another one of my friends is ignoring me. We were supposed to hang out Tuesday, but she went with some one else. Then came friday, and she never called or texted to have me pick her up (but she claims she did). Then I tried to get a hold of her all weekend. Nothing. But as per usual, come monday she's bugging me for a ride. When I ask why she's been ducking me, she took 10 minutes to say she lost her phone. Not likely, as her facebook shows she was using it... I'm thinking I should stop talking to this one (much less anyone now).
In other news I've been making some progress on trains. I've put together the KCS box, and got it weighted. Those old McKean ACF boxes are pretty nice. I'm working on getting a Con-cor 60' box and a 100-ton hopper together. The floor on the Con-cor 60' box was messed up, so I patched it together, and made modifications to the coupler pockets because part of it was busted off. I have almost no vertical slop in the kadees on it now.
I also got my other BLI NW2 today. Kinda wish they were SW7s, but these will work.
Alexander, I believe that's an RSD15, and it's on K10 Model Train's layout.

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
chochowillieShould I send the sn*w and the - temps too?
Nah... The sun would do nicely with the temperature today. Currently holding at 59°F here in the Finger Lakes. Sun has been out for much of the day.
I did some outdoor stuff this afternoon. Cleaned out all the remains of last years growth in the asparagus/herb garden. Chives are the only thing poking through the ground so far. I also moved a couple loads of firewood around to the back porch so I can get the driveway cleaned up. I'll be back at that task in a bit. Just taking a break. A couple of the neighbors are out raking their lawns and cleaning up around too. Couple almost across the street called me over to chat for a bit. They are not happy with the next door neighbor who has had company park on the edge of their lawn making a muddy rut there. The offending neighbor has already told them he will fill it in and fix it, but the lady wants to put a RR tie there to keep people from parking on the lawn.
I made a comment about having to be careful not to trip over the electric cord to my car.... They looked puzzled. I told them yeah, so I can charge the battery. They hadn't noticed it is a plug in Prius... They both had a whole bunch of questions about it. I told them the millage I get on average, and their jaws just dropped. They also didn't realize that part of their electric is coming from excess power from my roof. They thought that was super great! They are nice folks. I am lucky to live in a very friendly neighborhood, and I try to stay on the good side of all the neighbors.
OK, back to w*rk!
jeffrey-wimberlyI got my Kadee couplers today.
Yaaaaaah, more toy stuff.
As for me, I'm just taking a small break in the action after chasing the vacumne all over the house. Finally caught it in the spare bedroom where we keep it. Isn't that just the way.
Think I'll go wire some push buttons for the turnout motors and maybe make some more rocks and maybe even get some material ready for my tunnel walls.... Yah, right maybe I'll get two of those things done..

howmus(yep, Dennis, send all that sun over here in the East please!) with a high in the low 60's this afternoon.
Should I send the sn*w and the - temps too?
I got my Kadee couplers today. Two packs of 147's and three packs of 119's. Now I can put the right type of coupler on the front of my FP7's. A 148 center shank is too low. The 147 has an under-set shank so the coupler head is higher.
I hope everybody feels much better soon.
I just got back from the local errrrrrr... yeah we'll go with that... Home depot with lumber. so begins the seattle/portland sub. I suppose I'll go make a thread, and I have the experiment to also do(total cost of the layout).

Currently 52°F under mostly cloudy skies (yep, Dennis, send all that sun over here in the East please!) with a high in the low 60's this afternoon.
I have been busy answering a long list of emails this morning, and trying to get some Scout business, MLK Business, and some NMRA Division business done! So far much of it is still in limbo...
Galaxy, good for you. Businesses should be made aware when an employee does those kind of things. If this is common for the guy, he certainly should be replaced...
Ulrich, do get some rest. I know that you know your Mom can't really help what she is doing. Can the home disconnect her phone for a few days? My prayers continue for you and yours, my friend!
Catch you all later!
Good morning Diners, seems like everyone is into spring mode except for those of us in the Great White North. For our further pleasure, we had 24 hours of sn*w yesterday and the night before followed by a beautiful sunny day today. Howmus would be delighted with the power he could generate here today. Only problem is that it a baulmy -18 C. Yuck.
Tried to buy some plaster of paris yesterday at HD and all they had was 1 L cartons. No big bags, no 5 lb pails nothing. So today I'll load up a 2/3 of a bag of fiberglass insulation that't taking up a bunch of room in my shop, take it to Habitat Restore and then go next door to Consolidated Gypsum and buy what I need in the quantities I want. They are way to heck on the far side of the city but it will kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak.
Still feeling sort of yucky. Don't know if its the flu or what but it doesn't seem to be going away any too soon.
Jeffrey it seems the lawn mowing didn't do your sinus's any good. Aren't allergies the pits.
When the poplar trees start to blossom their seed pods, we get a ton of fluff floating around up here. Stuff makes my eyes just about swell shut.
Not much on the RR front going on. Just been running a rock casting production line so that I'll have em when I need em sort of thing. Wish I had a few more molds.... hmmmm should check at a hobby shop that carries some WS stuff. Maybe, just maybe I will get lucky.
Warm thoughts to all.

Morning All,
Currently it is 39 with wind, rain, and s**w. Supposed to clear up by mid afternoon, but who knows.
Have a mid-day shift today, so I need to get going soon.
Did some w**k on the layout yesterday like I planned, and took some pictures. If I get ambitious when I get home tonight I will post a few here.
Prayers to all in need.
Good morning. It's 66° with 94% humidity. It will be cloudy with a high of 80°.I'll probably clean up part of the layout today but will relax the rest of the day. My sinuses are still making themselves well known.
Good Afternoon!
I am not having a good day today. The old ticker is acting up, each time my Mom calls - "only" 12 calls today! She apparently is trying her best to provide an untimely end to my life. Though I am not answering her calls, my BP jumps up and I have a pain in my chest each time she rings us up. I´d switch off my phone, but I have to keep it open for the hospital and the nursing home to reach us.
Galaxy - that´s the right decision. If they prefer to sell phoney warranties than cars, there must be something wrong with the car as well.
Out again - wish you a good one!
Good Morning!!!
Sweet tea and fried chicken, mashed potatoes with white gravy, green beans and….um….a piece of banana cream pie please. Thanks.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. Looks to be about the same through Thursday.
Galaxy- I would have balked as well. No second hand warranty or no car. Simple. If you don't want it...you don't want it and it shouldn't really matter to him other than that maybe alleged satisfied return customer if the thing were to break and if the warranty didn't make you want to rip the eyes out of anyone connected to it once you tried to use it. There is a reason they push that so hard, but I’ve never had a salesmen push one that hard on anything. Sounds fishy to me and I’d keep looking especially since the car didn’t sing out to you.
Personally, if it isn’t by the manufacturer….I don’t get it. Heard too many horror stories about some, none of which I can remember names. Well, maybe Sears. Mom always carried one on the freezer and the refrigerator and they bought them in ’74 and’72 respectively. They’ve been real good about door seals and the ice maker once. Even though it was hard water that took it out. But like Mom said, never added up to how much she’s paid out in the warranty cost. Besides, usually if it makes it out of the manufacturers’ original warranty, it’s in for the long haul, or I want a different one anyway. Let’s face it. How long can you get your washer and dryer, or refrigerator or whatnot fixed before you kinda want another? Oh I know, about the time you’ve paid for another in extended warranty and or deductables if any. My response to those who begin to kinda push is..."would you rather have $50(or whatever it is) a year from me and get reimbursed for repairs....or would you rather sell me a new refrigerator?" They usually opt for sell me a new whatever it is.
V8- That falling in the shower thing can be very dangerous. Glad you’re ok and hope you feel better and not worse today.
Heard from Brenda, she was very happy about the ACM awards show and was at the after party. She will be leaving Las Vegas 10 am their time Tuesday. Last full day of Bachelorhood. Guess it was ok. Not like I remembered it though. Oh well. At least the dog will remove herself from her post at the front door waiting for Mommy to come home.
Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Work Front Boy the door swung my way this weekend! While we where slow and I mean slow I made a extra $90.00 today! Just an RBF tonight Flo please, they seem to help me sleep!
Took it easy today, the arms are still sore from the bush pulling escapade of yesterday.
Galaxy, sounds like a wise decision there. Extended warranties are a gamble at best, and dealing with a fly by night company or one with an already bad rap is a bad idea! Hope YOH gets a job, and you can come to Maryland next weekend. The Timonium show is always a good one. I would be there Saturday, but the South Mountain Division of the NMRA is holding a Mini-Con Saturday, and Paul Dolkos will be there to give a talk on his article last year in MR of printing out and detailing building fronts. CSX_Road_slug is riding shotgun with me Saturday. I'll probably do the show on Sunday.

Today was the longest day I've spent in the Sports Car (excavator) clearing brush and stumping so far this year. Interesting how some weeks/months I feel near deaths door, then a day or two come along when I am able to get some real work done. May pay for it tomorrow though.
Good night all.

Didn't get much sleep last night due to sinus trouble. Maybe I'll have better luck tonight. Been busy with a few things outside today and I'm tired. So I will be calling it a night a bit early. See y'all tomorrow. And yes, this loco is still not patched.
