 Evening Dinners

 Flo, Beer Pleases.

Really did not feel like going to work today, called in and told them I be a hour or so late. Got to work at 2:15, I was scheduled to be there at 1:00. Dillon (other sales person) could tell I was not my self and asked why I even came in? While I was stand in the rain trying to write a vin number of a truck on soaking wet paper I said to me self, "I am done" and went home.

Don't know if I a really sick, or just sick of the job. Either way I have 8 days off coming to me and think I am going to use a few.

Galaxy. Great to hear some good news here at the dinner! Cake to your other half.

Evening All,

Made pork steak, Au Gratin Potatoes and peas for supper. Of course it was topped off with a coffee.

Cleaned my truck today and put new wipers on it. I found some adhesive globules on my truck that I can't get off without removing paint. I have no idea where it came fromGrumpy.

Seamonster- Happy Anniversary.

Galaxy- Happy Birthday to YOH and congrats on her new job.

Hope everyone has a good night and prayers for those in need.

Seamonster
We celebrated our 48th. anniversary yesterday.

Congratulations Seamonster!! Forty Eight years is a long time to be married. My wife and I celebrated our 42 anniversary yesterday so we are about 6 years behind you folks. I don't know about you but it seems like yesterday that we embarked on our journey together.

As for your comments regarding your hostess, ours too wore a very short, very tight skirt and my wife to referred to it as indecently short. Funny thing is, I remember my wife wearing skirts that short way back when too Laugh. I reminded her of that because it was way too funny not to.

Cheers

Evening guys

Interview today went ok. I have the option of taking or not taking the job. Basically I'd be in charge of doing the flower displays at the comissary for a week or two in june or july. I'd be making 8% comission, so average about $160 a week. I'm not liking the prospect, but the one of the managers there started out doing that and he's now making $18 an hour with full benefits. I'd have to work night shift at my current job if I were to do that. I don't mind the prospect of a future promotion, but flowers and comission?

Trainwise I've just been going through my stuff and looking for things to sell at the open house. I'm up to most of the stuff from the packages from jeff and ken, a few foobie athearn BB covered hoppers (before I cut them up into  other hoppers, like Chris), a weathered DVS box, MRL caboose, a athearn roatary plow (it's my BN green one, I should have the brown BN one), and a couple of other cars. PM me for a list after sunday afternoon.

Seamonster and Dennis, Congrats on your 48th and 42nd anniversarys (respectively).

Ulrich, Sorry to hear about your father.

Curt, nice loco

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Dinner in town went quite well. I had a chimichanga with rice and a salad. The thunderstorms busted loose while we were there and had settled down to a moderate but steady rain by the time we left there. It's still raining now and I can hear more thunder in the distance.

It's time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Howdy ...

The rain has just arrived here. So far, not too stormy.

Happy Anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Seamonster and to Mr. and Mrs. Cdn Dennis!

Curt and Ken .... Nice layout photos! Keep on posting them!

Jeff ... I like the diner interior!

I completed an unusual project on my worktable today. My Walthers Northern Pacific SlumberCoach was lettered incorrectly in the factory. It said Northern Pacific on one side and Missouri Pacific on the other side. I have never had anything like that before now. I changed it today so it has NP on both sides.

Speaking of NP, where is Sue?

There are some other MIA's also.

Shelley and I will be taking a Southeastern starting Sunday for a week. it will include family gatherings and birthday celebrations as we drive from here in KY through TN, Al, GA, SC, and NC. I had intended to visit model railroaders along the way, but we are driving too many miles in just one week to do so.

Looks like I have top honers, chow hounds. Enjoy!

Good Morning!

Zoe, strong coffee in an IV bag, please!

There are rough times ahead of us. We need to make the funeral arrangements, but there is no way I can talk to my Mom about it. She just yelled at me and tried to beat me again. I had to go away. Words cannot describe how sad I am.

Have a good one.

Whistling

Hi Gang,

Just stopped in for a H.C. before bed.  Zoe, a couple of raisin & chocolate chip cookies with that as well, Please.

My Wife and her Sister left for a trip this afternoon. They will be gone a week, so it will sure be quiet around here with just me and the dogs.  They have gone to do some genealogy research about 300 miles northwest from here.  She had been planning on taking shorts and sun tops.... Ha Ha  not this year, in fact it snowed a little bit more over the last couple of hours. SOOOOooo,, the winter coat went instead.

Got a little done on some tunnel liners at a difficult spot where three tracks come together. The outside one is going under the high level at the west end and up a hidden incline to meet the highline at the top coming out of the mountain before the snow shed. It is at the bottom or west end where the difficulty is as there isn't sufficient space just to give that incline track it's own portal.  I have to do it further ahead, just after a turnout and I think it will look rather strange as I have to tunnel them all and there wouldn't have been a reason to in real life. It will certainly hide what happens to the train going up the ramp, but really there isn't enough hill there to need a tunnel.  I have delayed and delayed while trying to sort this one out, this is the best I could come up with.  So I'm moving ahead now and if it real looks bad I'll rip it out and try something else.  Thats the beauty of Model railroading .... doesn't cost much to do over,  most all is recycled.

Seamonster and Dennis, Congrats on your 48th and 42nd anniversarys, and belated ones that I know I have missed.  I think CN Charlie and his good wife had one not to long ago, And then I believe that Tom and his Wife were out celebrating a day or two ago.  We will have our 40th this coming November.

Garry,  have a great road trip and drive like the others on the road are crazy.  In some cases they are.

We'll be on our way to Missouri in May, (Springfield)  (MSU)  for my youngest Son's Convocation where he will pick up his Masters. We will spend about a week in Branson with them and after that Wifey and I will go to Memphis for a few days. Never have stopped there to look around only for an airport stopover.  All in all we will be gone from here about three weeks.

I see Jerry passed our way today, I sure hope Sallie is doing better, I don't think he mentioned anything about her today.

Curt, your layout has really come along.  I wish I made the kind of progress that you do.

Ken, seeing that you got that cheque from "BOS",  I doubt very much that they will try to foreclose again as long as you stay up to date on your end.  If that new loco that you are having trouble with was mine it wouldn't be long before it was back at K-10 (That's the dealer I believe)

Enough of this rambling for now.  Think I'll grab a quick shower and get horizontal for a while.

Prayers and Blessings to all in need across the USA.  It certainly hasn't been a very good week, or year for that matter.

Thanks Bill, that is a good looking cup of coffee, but, I thought I ordered a H.C. tonight.

Ulrich, my heart is with you.  Stay strong Buddy.

Good morning. It's 41° with a wind chill of 36°. Humidity is 83%. Wind NNW 15mph gusting to 28mph. The high will be 65°.

Sunny today but cooler. I'm going to see if I can get some of the mess on the layout cleaned up before I get interrupted for some reason or other. Four of the FP7's are getting a good run this morning. L&A 626, RI 405, L&A 1514B and L&A 1523C. Quite a mix of motors there. Whatever brand Roco used in the 70's, Mashima, Athearn and PPW.

A 20 percent chance of showers after 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47. Only got 1.7 inches rain yesterday. I was glad.  And no storms, for which I was gladder.

Well, still haven’t started the generator. Nor the mower  either.  That HAS to be done this weekend or I kid you not the dog will get lostIndifferent. Miss ONE opportunity to mow and look what happens….Sigh Should have known.

Anyway, since it didn’t appear to be stormy or at least threateningly so, I decided to go up to the restaurant and start framing in the new view block/ waitress station. Since it was raining I had no place to cut the sheeting so today I will go finish said project…Bang Head.just jinxed it by saying “finish”Bang Head…..should have just said “continue w**king”Sigh. Oh well, with any luck I will be getting to that bathroom ceiling in the apartment above as well. We’ll seeHuh?.

 Morning Folks

 Flo, Diet Dew Pleases

Called off from work today, I feel so tired.

All I do I toss and turn at night. Sleeping on the couch was not bad for the first few years, now it is getting unbearable. I am desperate so I am heading to Wally World here in a few minutes to buy 2 full sizes foam mattress pads. Each one is 48" wide, the couch is 24", so I should be be able to fold them in half. That will give around 4" of padding.

Boy I wished I did not snore! Darn Wolfhound gets to sleep on my side of the $5,000.00 King Mattress! Bang Head

Jeffery Question the king of fixing junk! If you hear what I think is a worm gear bearing sound only when the engine goes forward, do you think it would be the front or rear truck? Hope to get the noise out of the NIB SD 7 today.

John Boy One one of the main reason I don't want to take the Rio Grand SD 9 back to K-10 is there are no more to be had! It was pure luck he still had a Rio Grand SD 9 that matches my SD 7. Besides, I am sure it can be fixed, as soon as I take the darn thing apart that is! Whistling

 See you all this afternoon.

Run the loco without the shell on it. Hold the end of a three or four foot piece of water hose to your ear and hold the other end near the loco. First at the front truck then the rear truck. You'll know which one it is instantly. I used to use that trick to locate loose rocker arms on car engines among other things. It works for finding squeals and squeaks in model trains too.

It has not been a good day today. I am physically and mentally exhausted. I cannot tell you what is right now happening, because the scenario is really Kafkaesque. Only that much - my brother and I will not be able to attend the funeral. We are excluded from everything. We will meet, though, and say our own farewell to Dad.

Ken- ask your Doctor about  sleep clinic as you may have sleep apnea as well as snoring. It can cause snoring. Then you could get a CPAP {Continuous Positive Air Pressure} Machine that will STOP your snoring and may allow you better sleep!

I went and found out I stop breathing for as long as 93 seconds {cna't hold my breath that long in life} and for as many times as 32 times an hour! That means I average only about sleep less than every other minute!!!

It made a lot of difference for me, although I cannot say you Will sleep 8 hours straight, but She'd HAVE TO let you back in bed if the snoring stopped!

Well

'One tooth missing later, its a long ordeal. I have good bone structure there wasn't much left of  the tooth and it took 52 minutes of work to pull!

For what it's worth I know several shipmates who were diagnosed with sleep apnea and now use the "Darth Vader" positive air supply. Their lives are much better. No more snoring and they aren't dragging their bodies behind them!

Good afternoon.

Man. Three events in a matter of days. A bombing in Boston, explosion at a plant in Texas, and a dam break on the Il. River. Wow are we unlucky right now............prayers for those that need them. Angel

Anyway, some good news on my end. Really good news. Got called down to the office at school today, with 9 other kids, all of them were ones that wouldn't get into trouble (ususally anyway). Turns out, we are in the Top 10 of our 139 kid class! Was really happy to hear that.

 Afternoon Dinners

 Flo, Beers Pleases

Galaxy and Fergie I am sure I have sleep apnea! I was tested one time when I had insurances and the bed was rock hard. I was in stage 4 sleep for a total of 10 minutes according to the sleep clinic.

But, from selling Mattress (I real sold health from better sleep) I know a lot for a layperson about sleep. I dream a lot, so I mainly stay in stage 2 sleep. Every time I toss at night, I wake up. Plus my wife says I stop breathing at night, that is a sure sign!

Now that I am under VA Health Care, if it is not rotting and falling off, they don't want to fix it! I have asked my Primary PA for a sleep study, fell on mute ears. So I just hope the new matters pads offer some relief.

Rio Grand SD 7 and 9 Front. I was able to tell the noise was coming from the rear truck.

Be back in a second or 2
