Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a bowl of Organic Flax Seed Granola cereal and a pot of dark roast coffee this morning...  Thank you Ma'am!

Took Blackie for his Vet appt. first thing this morning.  When I got up he was sitting on the little rug where his food is usually kept.  The food had to be hidden last night so he could have a "fasting" blood sugar done.  His blood sugar was 182 this morning and the Vet said she was very pleased with considering what it was when he was there before...  She didn't say exactly but mentioned above 250.  She thinks this regimen will work for him for a while at least.  I will be making an appt. to take Manét over for a baseline blood work soon.  Since he is  a litter mate of Blackie he is also at risk.

Today will be search the house for the lost invoice with information I need the financial statement tomorrow....  Grrrrrr....  Hope I can find a bit of time to do some hobby stuff as well.

Jeffrey, I guess your layout is in the same condition mine is at the moment!

Have a great day!

Good morning. It's 61°F with 100% humidity. The high will be a wet 72°F.

I'm still waiting for the last Atlas FP7 I ordered. The delivery estimate was between the 19th and 27th and that time is rapidly running out. There's no tracking number indicated so I can't tell where it is at this time. Maybe it'll come in today. If it doesn't no great loss. I only paid $20 for it.

The possibility of any outdoor work today is pretty much nixed by the weather. The weather guesser says 80% (or more)chance of severe thunderstorms. It ought to be interesting.

Layout work is on the agenda today. If I don't get it cleaned up a junk dealer will probably move in and take up squatters rights! There's locos, cars, cameras, tools, bits and pieces of projects and assorted junk all over.

Good Morning!!!

Dzousong!! Nay ho mah. Nogh wiu yau leung dzek dan, min b…Hmm… Oh. Hi Flo. I thought I heard Garry say we had a Chinese waitress here now. Oh no, I’m glad you’re here. I can here you comin.

Coffee and a couple scrambled eggs on toast with sausage gravy over it please. Thank You.

HEY!! Looks like I slept about an hour longer than Rob did. Probably take a nap this afternoon.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 41.  Got up to 43 yesterday, by the temp thing on the truck. Guess they were right prior to yesterday after all.

Jeff- As for the no sugar in Stag beer, ya know I have to be honest I never researched it. All I know is, three people I know who are diabetic and drink beer, mildly of course, say their Doctors, all three different, say Stag beer is ok because it doesn’t have any sugar. Now like I said when they say it’s OK, you take that into perspective. Most Doctors don’t like using any kind of alcohol and OK in the same sentence. Many people don’t seem to hear the word “A” as in “A” beer. Anyway, that’s what I based my statement on. Apparently there is at least something different about Stag because these peole are multi generational and all have different doctors. Not counting the all too accurate (sarcasm) “they’ve said that for years”. Called it diet beer. I better check the internet. You can't lie on the internet....bonjour!

Ken-  Happy B-Day Did you get a watch?Whistling I can see where the misunderstanding was. It was two women trying to be…..well, women. You should have known when they said don’t by anything but to drink, that had nothing to do at all with the food and they will never see how you came to that conclusion. Never. Even if they say they do....they're just saying it because thet're tired of arguing with a moron. I hate to break it to you, but yes, we're morons. Besides, wasn’t it nice to have the honor of paying for your own Birthday dinner? I always think so. And I also like how on that “special day” (which to me is just another day) I also get to buy several OTHER peoples dinner as well. I will be blessed with that honor on the 18th of next month myself. No wait, I have to w**k that night so….probably the following Saturday or Sunday whenever Brenda can get the most stomachs…Indifferent...I mean peop…Grumpy...no I mean stomachs together. Of course it is possible they celebrate without meHmm, just use my card. But that's not probable. ConfusedPossible, just not probable.

My favorite year was about 10 years ago when she had like six of her family there at Applebees’s after they loaded me in a van with them all and “secretly” took to the gambling boat. Ah yes.... after dinner she said…”oh no! We got it!” Most expensive Birthday I ever paid for. Funny thing was, the evening was her surprise gift to me and I don’t gamble. Maybe a $1 lotto ticket every month or two. But hey, she had a good time and after all, it was my birthdayYes.

Have some Cake

Good Morning!

Today´s the big day! In a little more than an hour´s time, we will take my Mom to the nursing home. Of course, she has messed up all the things we packed up for her last night, but I did expect that to happen, so we came ahead of departure time. Petra is busy repacking Mom´s gear ...

Yesterday, a tire on my Dad´s car blew up. Took me to hours in rain and snow to get that fixed. That car is no good, though low on mileage, it shows a lot of signs of neglect. It will have to go soon.

Ken - a belated Happy B-Day and a big Cake for you!

Have a good one!

Evenin' folks!

Janie, may I have a Brownie with chocolate syrup on top and a cup of decaf please?  TYhank you Ma'am, that was quick!

I spent the day getting a few odds and ends done.  I redid the USB Stick with the tunes on it for the PIP.  I did some reading up and figuring out of some things and now can get ti play a playlist of tunes without having to select each song to get it to play.  I started w*rk on the financial report for the MLK Meeting next Tuesday.  Was doing well until I realized I have misplaced an invoice for the programs for the MLK Service in January....  Guess I will be frantically cleaning house until I find it!  I also got a bit more done on the scenery in the train room:

I gave Blackie his med tonight a half hour early and the boys had their dinner right after that.  Blackie has a Vet appointment tomorrow morning for a blood test (fasting draw) to see how the diabetes is doing.  I am hoping and praying that the medication he is on is doing the trick for him.  If not it will mean taking his blood sample here at home and him getting insulin injections...  I think the pills are a lot less stressful for both of us....  Speaking of blood draws.  I have to do mine in a few minutes.  If it is under 110 I will have a small snack before I go to bed after my nightly meds.

The wood stove decided to really fire up here tonight and the house is now at 77°F...  A bit hotter than I find comfortable, but the gas heater will not get much use overnight.  Even with the cloudyness today the Solar panels kicked out 6.85 Kwhs of power putting it on track to beat last November's total output.  March should be a new high I think if we get a string of sunny days.

So Ken had Chines food for supper???  Is that a new chain over where he lives, never heard about them before....  Huh?  Oh!  Chinese Food....  OK, now I get it...  I thought it was some kind of burger thing place....  More like good Chinese take out stuff.  We have a place in Geneva that is fantastic!

Ken, hope things improve for you at w*rk and a few other things as well...  And lay off the rice...  Loaded with carbs you know.  I go hog wild when we eat at the local Chinese Buffet and don't even want to think about my sugar for the next 24 hours... LOL  last time i ate there my evening test came back  something like 170 I think...

Time to close up shop and head to bed I guess.  Prayers for all in need, for for those who think they don't need them as well...

Garry,  our condolences to your friends on the loss of their Daughter, Not ever having to be able to bring her home is another tragedy, but I'm sure that the Lord has done the right thing for her under the circumstances.   Love the Heartland City pix.

Johnboy out...........................and about

JohnBoy ..... Thanks for commenting. While sad, it may be for the best. The little baby girl would have been severely handicapped due to damage caused by the big brain tumor. She was already totally blind. Glad you liked the pix. My friend has my Scenicruiser for me and will mail it when I'm ready. Next 2 weeks will be very busy for me.

Tom ... It's nice you can watch trains close to you. In my youth, I could see trains from my bedroom window.

Ken ... I hope it was a good b'day.  If you were having Chinese food, you should have invited Todd, the DIner's lover of Chinese food. ....or perhaps, he just likes the waitress in the Chinese restaurant.

Todd .... oops!. You didn't hear me talking about you behind your back did you? .... Hey. Would you like to have a great recipe for Chinese food?  ,,,,, Meow. .... oh never mind.

Barry ... How's everything going with the heart doctors? Praying for you.

JohnBoy asked about Sue and Larry. Where are they? Or Sue at least. Send out teh search party.

Terry ... You posted another great picture.

We had another good day railfanning. Caught 8 trains in 2 hours. Norfolk Southern must have been moving a lot of power around today as one mixed freight had 7 engines. Then another mixed freight had 3 engines and 7 cars. And finally 7 engines running light and consisted of 2 Dash 9's, an SD70M-2, an ES40DC, an SD60I, and a GP-38. One mixed freight had a nice "scale test car" in the middle. I'm really fortunate in living so close to the main line.

And to top off a nice day we had a tasty Delmonico roast, baked potato, and whole kernel corn for dinner. Naturally, it was accompanied with a bottle of Riesling.

My friend and neighbor was discharged from the hospital and is back in a nursing/rehabilitation center. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to come for his 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday. But his family all visited in the evening.

Tomorrow is our usual day for breakfast at a restaurant, then grocery shopping. But the wife rattled off a huge list of other errands she wants to do. So it looks like not only will it be a long day, but I'll  have to buy her lunch as well. Going to be lucky if I'm home by 3 o'clock.

Hope everybody has a good week. Stay safe & happy.

Hi, everbody! 33f and mostly cloudy.

Well, kind of a "bombshell" at Church this morning. The Assistant Pastor resigned effective 7/13. Been there 7 years and feels the Big Guy calling him in another direction. I think he'll lean towards mission work. He just got back leading a youth trip to build houses in Guatamala. He'll be missed.

The 500 was so-so, I'm on a race board and lost 3 out of 5 drivers in the first wreck. Then  the last 2 when the Toyotas blew up. Oh, well. there's 35 races left!

Thanks for the comments, Garry and Johnboy! Makes a guy smile .Embarrassed

Happy B-day, KEN!!!!!

Yhat's all for now!

Prayers for those that need'm.

Evening guys

I decided to work on the step risers for P2K geeps that I designed. Someone on another forum sent me a photocopy of the BN's diagrams for the GP7/9/18/20 and SD7/9s step wells. I tried cutting out the risers and supergluing cannon steps to them. It works, kind of. The problem is I can't get the risers to be held straight up and down, and when going for the 2nd or 3rd step the glue bonds tend to break. Maybe I should wait longer before gluing the next step? I'm thinking it might be better to glue the risers to the shell (after cutting out the old steps, sanding so it's smooth then adding some material) since I put a locator tap on the risers, then attach the steps. But I'll have to either modify the frame (except on the p2K Gps with athearn coupler mounts or shave material from the back of the risers...

Ken, Happy Birthday. Hope you'll chime in on the dilema with one of the F3 chassis

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Hi Guys,

Wasn't the best 500, in between the commercials every 5 minutes. Haven't done anything on the layout in the last week or so. It was great to see spring training baseball though yesterday and with the race today have put me in a spring mood even though its still snowy and cold ( and will be for at least a month ). I picked up a couple baseball fantasy magazines and a statistic book ( Bill James 2013 to be exact ) to flip through and played a coupe baseball video games. Now I'm really wanting baseball, lol.

I started that new job last Monday but got a phone call on Friday from that auto parts manufacturer wondering If I was still interested but when I tired to call him back when I got home at 4:00 he was gone for the day. So maybe I might be going there soon.

Well Im going to go browse over some baseball books and then go watch some TV.

 Yep it is my Birthday

And it sucked! My wife wanted me to get Chines Food for dinner! She then left with my daughter to spend the day with her. While they where away my daughter called and told me "Don't buy anything today unless it is something to drink". I was thinking Cool, don't have to buy the Chines Food, she is getting it! Big Smile (could not afford it anyway).

They got home and no Chines Food? Whistling Seems my wife told my daughter I was going to go buy a watch! Which I was not going to do because I cannot afford one, but I took it has she was buying dinner! So my wife was *** I did not buy the Chines Food I could not afford anyway! So I just now shelled out $22.00 for the Chines Food so my wife would stop complaining!

Vince's PM me what you would like me to do.

Goats finally worked there way back up behind the house, only to find their escape route into my front yard had been since fenced off. HA! Didn't want them to follow the entire fence line and leave my property completely, so gave them a couple quick reminder pops with the 45 (into the bank, not at them). They high tailed it back into the pasture. That should buy another week.

Good afternoon everyone! Got some aluminum paint on my P-38J, and went to see grandma later in the morning. The paint is still not dry, but should be soon. I already have most of the military colors that I need, so I only had to get a minimal amount.

Whistling

Hey Ken, It can't be Super Bowl, that's over for the year.  The work situation will improve one way or the other.  Be patient my friend.

If it just happens to be your B-day, have a great one and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy......

Doing a little catch up on the news here.  A lot happens quickly if you miss a day or two.

Hi Ya All, Boy, the Diners full this afternoon.  Chloe, I'll have the Nickel Plate Special and a double RBF. when you get a chance.

Just back a while ago from Church and not much on the agenda for today.  I'm on a three day week-end off.

Yesterday was my plumbing repair day. changed out a cartridge in the sink in the main bathroom. Then changed out the drain assembly in the Jacuzzi tub because it had lost it's chrome finish. Did make a few more rock molds after that.

Garry,  our condolences to your friends on the loss of their Daughter, Not ever having to be able to bring her home is another tragedy, but I'm sure that the Lord has done the right thing for her under the circumstances.   Love the Heartland City pix.

Ulrich, Keep your chin up, you have done all the right things and have put yourselves out immensely compared to your Brother. It is always those who do the least who YAP the most, and really should have no say.  They sure can cause problems though. Glad you have Petra for support.

Galaxy, Our best wishes to your "Better Half" on the Job search.

Rob,  Sorry to hear about one of your "KIDS"  (P-goat)  Very glad to hear the "New Hand" is performing well.

Curt,  Sounds like a great trip..... Do you need someone to help carry your bags.  I could be talked into that.

Terry,  Those pictures of that Wisconsin Layout of yours are superb.  Our best wishes to your Son.

Tipton Bill,   I really thought that pix of the Beuna Vista PA. Station was wonderful, what a great structure.

Jerry,  Our best wishes and prayers for Sallie,  really hope you can get her home soon.

Now in regard to the Diner's Location for next month, it seems to me that we were in that PA. area less than six months ago.  How about going down to Georgia around Rob's place, I understand there is a couple of good Railfanning spots down there. (If not) then lets go to the Salt Lake area, the western end of the Rio Grande.  Just my thoughts........................

By the way, where is SUE,  she and Larry haven't checked in for a while.  Hope all is well out there.

Paul, how is the layout move coming along??   If you run out of laundry to do, you are welcome to come and help us with ours or maybe Galaxy would welcome you as well.

Well, the Wife wants to go for a little drive, so I guess we had better have some together time. So will catch Ya all on the flip side.

Johnboy out...........................and about

from Saskatchewan, in the Great White North..

We have met the enemy,  and he is us............ (Pogo)
