Very nice Bear.
Well I got bad news yesterday. I got layed off. Shouldn't be out of work long, so not worried yet!
Despite that, an order I placed from Trainworld arrived today. I guess now, I'm officially a CSX modeller.

James,
Here's to a layoff only long enough to relax and catch up on those important modeling projects!
At least here in WPF, no matter how hard we work, we always get a three-day weekend.
I found a good deal on a dump truck for the CCCP Quarry at Dove Creek. It's an Ertl John Deere #35249 and appears to be pretty darn close to HO scale, all for less than $5 at the local farm store.
I kept at installing LEDs, since I have some visitors to wow at an op session Saturday. First a pic looking in on the dispatcher's desk at the Durango station. There's work at the freighthouse in the hours before dawn. After a day of travel and fun, it's up early again. Here's a pic of the Silverton REA agent loading a "hot" piece of freight on his truck for delivery. Our nocturnal railfan caught this pic of a rare early morning westbound to Red Mountain. In Red Mountain, we caught the train turning on the wye. It may be morning someplace, but it's time to hit the sack here.

Here is this weeks progress on some projects I am working on.
Here I have masked the frame stripe and painted the locomotive in its basic black color, and have stripped off the masking tape, this U25B is now ready for the New Haven decals.
Here is a 100T Greenville 12 Panel Hopper, where I cut out three panels and glued the car back together along with the frame modifications in order to replicate some P&E hopper car rebuilds of the 1960's.
Thanks for looking,
Rick J

Rule 3: Illuminating discussion of prototype history, equipment and operating practices is always welcome, but in the event of visitor-perceived anacronisms, detail descrepancies or operating errors, consult RULE 1!
Great work everyone.

As always great modeling. I had to adjust the train station on my layout because I moved the track away from the station during a ongoing track widening and reverse loop project.
A good start to WPF guys. Keep the photos and I ideas coming.
Here is one from the BRVRR:
I started to add a few supplier signs to the sides of my grain elevator. Wouldn't you know I would run out of the latex wallpaper cement I like to use.
Keep up the good work guys. You always make this the best thread of the week.
Remember its your railroad

Mike: I'm following your lighting work with interest,as I intend to do get to that eventually...I've got some area lights already installed, but no power to them yet.
Finished up my dwarf route indicators on the east end of the yard.
Have a great weekend.

An impossibly clean Pennsy J1 takes the siding....reluctantly.
Tom & Curt, that depot does get around, doesn't it?

Curt ... Thanks for commenting.
Tom .... I'll have a Burlington 4-8-2 ready to haul the Panoramic Limited east of Denver!. Great photo!
Everybody.... Nice work this weekend!
Nice work everyone.I kind of finished redoing my 2-6-0. After seeing the picture it looks like I need to a little detailing and dull the tender wheels.I stripped #145 down, cleaned the armature ring in the motor. It seems to run better now, before it would jump start and surge, some what as it ran along. The paint is supposed to be flat black but it sure looks shiny enough for an old steamer. The tender frame was broke in two pieces and the cab corner posts were gone when I got it. It sure needed some TLC.
Anyway, my contribution for the week end. I enjoy all the great pictures.

Before and the black is after in the pics.
I've been working on the Walthers Railroad Shop the last few weeks, and finally finished it!
I installed the crane, interior lights, and the interior details also.

Happy Friday everyone! Once again some exceptional photos! Grampy, great B&W scene. It could pass for the real thing! Garry and Curt, always great stuff! Nice night shots Mike! Robby, I like the Port St Joe weathering job. You have that down to a science! Bear, nice cars! Tom and Mike, nice pics! Crandell, nice J1! Michael, that shop is great!
Ok, as you guys know, I have pretty much spoiled myself and the boys with locomotives, and It's really hard to have a favorite. Well, when BLI decided to run a USRA light Pacific, I was only slightly excited about it, I've purchased a lot of pacifics over the years with poor results {that doesn't include Pennsy K4's]. Even my brass locos don't measure up to most other locos on the layout. On Thursday my first BLI pacific arrived, and to my amazement, it runs absolutely perfect! Finally after some 30 years I have the B&O passenger train I always wanted to model. Here are a couple of photos:
I probably should have vacumed the cobwebs out of the bridgework! Yes, that's a scratchbuilt HO stepbox. It was a nightmare to make!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Just finished rebuilding this Rivarossi Cab Forward. Bought it not running and with some damaged and missing parts. Sweet running now.

Cool looking picture. I really like the yellow effect of the headlight shining on the track. It looks like evening.

A while ago I got a plan for a booster box that someone made for use at Free-mo set-ups. The idea was to put a booster in a tool box that had all the connections that were required on the outside. I took this idea and modified it slightly to house my command station. Since I move every few years I figure having something like this to store my digitrax system would be great.

It's late and it's not finished, but I'll polish it some more later. Be glad to take questions.
You guys are putting out some great stuff as always. Here's some of the new scenes on the club layout.
