So was anyone from Kalmbach there? And was there any news that we might find interesting?

I hope it was better than the iHobby in Chicago a few weeks ago. That was a waste of time and gas!

Yep. All of the MR editors, as well as those from Classic Toy Trains and Garden Railways, took shifts working the Kalmbach booth. Cody Grivno and Eric Stelpflug worked the show floor seeking out the latest new products, while David Popp shot video. Our first report will be the New Products listing, which will be posted on ModelRailroader.com Thursday afternoon.

Trainfest was the usual great mix of operating layouts, manufacturers, historical societies, clinics and displays, and vendors.  It is not a swap meet and essentially no used stuff  is sold there.

Several Trains.com forum members have a tradition of an annual photo and meeting at the Kalmbach booth. Two Kalmbach staffers, including MR Editor Neil Besougloff, were kind enough to join us.  here is Keith Schmidt's posting:

Well Trainfest 2011 is in the books.  Lots of people and Lots of trains and model trains.  Here is the Forum Photo Version 2011.  Thanks to all those gathered it is nice to put a face with a name or avatar.  Thanks to the people from Kalmbach for allowing us to invade their space for a couple of minutes.
