Trainfest was the usual great mix of operating layouts, manufacturers, historical societies, clinics and displays, and vendors. It is not a swap meet and essentially no used stuff is sold there.
Several Trains.com forum members have a tradition of an annual photo and meeting at the Kalmbach booth. Two Kalmbach staffers, including MR Editor Neil Besougloff, were kind enough to join us. here is Keith Schmidt's posting:

Yep. All of the MR editors, as well as those from Classic Toy Trains and Garden Railways, took shifts working the Kalmbach booth. Cody Grivno and Eric Stelpflug worked the show floor seeking out the latest new products, while David Popp shot video. Our first report will be the New Products listing, which will be posted on ModelRailroader.com Thursday afternoon.

So was anyone from Kalmbach there? And was there any news that we might find interesting?
I hope it was better than the iHobby in Chicago a few weeks ago. That was a waste of time and gas!
