Evenin' everyone!
I'll have what Jim is having... Looks and smells great! Danke.
Ken, so very sorry to hear about Tiff! I know it was hard for you, but I figured it sounded like her time was at hand. She is no longer in pain and struggling........ She was a very lucky dog to have people like you folks to care for her and enjoy all she had to give! Manet sends his condolences to you folks...... He is very sad...
Blackie isn't sure as he doesn't like dogs, so he did what any self repecting cat would do and stuck out his tongue........
I have spent all day running here and there, cleaning house, and finding more THAT needs to be done! I will be very glad when this weekend is over even though I know it will be fun. Oh I just finshed baking 6 dozen Toll House cookies. While the oven is hot, I'm going to bake some butterscotch cookies while I'm at it. Have some!
Later!

Thanks all for the condolence on Tiff. She was a PP, Perfect Pup. In some respects she was gone a few days ago. While she was still a live, her eyes where life less, could hardly stand and seemed like she was in a daze.
When I carried her, she seemed life less, just limp in my arms. She hated being carried and would normally fight a little. I knew it was time when I took her out in the yard to potty. I sat her down and she laid in her yard, I went inside and watch through the window. (She would not potty if I watched) She stood up after a few minutes and just look back and forth like she did not know where she was.
She did get one good last dinner, Sue bought her a Chinese Chicken Dinner that Tiff loved and she ate well.
Took her to the Vet, and her heart mummer was worst than last week. Asked the Vet if it was time, she said it was. I will give Sue credit, she stayed to the very end. I stayed till Tiff was asleep but let before the final injection.
Tiffy will be cremated and her ashes will be put in a Build A Bear dog (we did the same with her Sister Sonya the first Irish Wolfhound) and she will sleep besides us.
Few more pictures.

Flo, around on me and a toast to Tiffany, a perfect pup. My life was enriched by knowing her!

Ken, I feel really bad for you and sue, i am sorry for your loss. the story and pictures really choked me up.
Ray, The cookies look great! The oven looks way to clean?? I had a different image in my mind when you say you have a lot of cleaning to do.
good night friends! Thayne
Ken, so sorry to hear of your loss but I know that Tiff couldn't have had more caring 'parents'. While their lives may be short you never forget them and how much they gave to you.

Evening ladies and gents.
I found out yesterday that I was going to be attending Father Tony's funeral today. Since he attended most of the lacrosse games and was close to the team, the school sent the entire team. It was very nice, as was the lunch afterwards back at the school.
Congrats, Bama! Good to hear THAT you'll be having another future modeler.
Ulrich, sorry to hear you were in the hospital again, but glad to hear THAT you're home and well.
LION!
Thanks Ray! Scouting is a great program, and I'm so glad that I decided to stay in it all of these years.
Sam, seeing THAT there's no Robby here and I'm the only one that mentioned Transit, I'm going to assume THAT you were talking to me. No railroad job here, still working on the senior year of high school. I plan to go into the railroad industry though, but not work for he railroad (at least not in T&E or operations). Next year, I'm off to college (not sure where yet; just sent in the first applications this week) to study mechanical engineering. I would like to get a job designing railcars and locomotives (like at Bombardier, EMD, etc.).
Thanks, Curt! I posted a photo of my project a few pages back, but I would be more than happy to share it again. This is what I built:
OzJim, actually I misspoke. It was just A LOT of rain, but nothing as bad as the photos you posted!
Ken, sorry to hear about Tiff. However, it sounds like she just couldn't take it anymore, and lived a great life.
Ray, those butterscotch cookies look amazing! I had one at Father Tony's lunch today and it was great, so I could definitely go for another! Thanks!
Tomorrow's FRIDAY, so THAT means a few good things:1. The weekend starts!2. SENIORS get to order out! There'll be a chicken francaise at the cafeteria door tomorrow at 12:25 with my name on it! 3. THE WEEKEND STARTS!!!!!
Well (once again high due to rain), it's getting late.
Catch ya later!

Afternoon all, quiet friday at w*rk.
I managed to get into to town to watch 20 F/A 18F Super Hornets fly over the city around two hours ago. It was put on for the last 4 jets arriving in the squadron, yes we only have 24 of them. It was a great thing to watch/hear though, I will upload some images later. They flew in a nice arrow formation.
Will pop back later.

Good Morning Diners!
After a spell of not so nice, but typical Autumn weather, we will be enjoying "golden" days while traveling through the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) in Saxonia.
Today will take us down the river Elbe on a paddle wheeler.
... until we come to Pillnitz Palace - a jewel among King August´s palaces.
In the afternoon, we will go to Radebeul, a small town just a little north of Dresden and take a ride to Radeberg.

Good Morning...
It is a rather chilly damp morning here...temperature is at 44F and we are heading for 50F in the rain/drizzle today....
Have a few things to get done today..namely 2 doctor appointments. One to see cardiologist, the other to see about what biopsy said...
Next will be an appointment with the foot doc about mine feet..so far they seem to be still there...so far...
Train time..otherwise known as choo choo time will be somewhat curtailed by a bunch of refresher/training courses this fellow has to give over the weekend ......then on Monday..a bunch more things to do ..maybe next week?
Flo, I'll have a coffee for now please..I'll be at the RC for a bit.

Good Morning All,
48F but dry this morning. Just about done with one gearbox and waiting on parts for the second. Of course another batch of crack testing this morning as well. I'll have a blueberry bagel toasted with cream cheese and a regular to go please Zoe.
Ken - Sorry to hear about Tiff. I guess it was time, but we are never really ready when it comes. You'll always have the memories and as others have said, at least her suffering is over. It's only since I married Eileen that we've had dogs and the two we've had to put down are still fresh in my memory. All they ask for is love and attention and they give back so much more.
Galaxy - I guess it's better that businesses build in the areas that flood instead of homes but you really have to wonder just how smart these folks are that made the decision. Is the state at least moving forward with the plan to dredge the streams and channels or will that be put on hold while they do environmental impact studies endlessly?
Need to get back into the shop and continue my adventures with gearboxes. We also have a BMW 328 in (1939 vintage) to fix the starter/ring gear. Catch y'all later, J.R.
Galaxy, you guys got beat up in the last 12 months that’s for sure. I’m not going to have a choice but to dig a swale from the back yard to the front yard to drain out my swamp this weekend. If I hadn’t put the plug in the basement drain I imagine I would have a foot of water in my basement by this morning. That’s not too far from Ithaca, NY I just did a work up on two projects. One on the south end of the lake and one on the north end.
Ken, sorry to hear about Tiff, it’s always hard to say goodbye. Try to look back at the good years you two had and be proud of the life style you provided her…
Jim, I think they have all the animals under control here except the 16 unaccounted for timber wolves. They had to shoot a Bengal tiger after they hit it with 4 tranquilizers it killed two deputies horses and they needed to do something before someone got killed. The big concern is about the timber wolves, there is enough deer to keep them going for a long time.

Good Morning!! Just coffee please. Thanks. High today is 59° F. Ken- I’m so sorry to hear about Tiffany. You did the right thing for her. After all the pleasure she gave you over those many years, it was only fare for you to let her go before she suffered. My prayers for you and Sue. Well, yesterday the other shoe fell. The bank wants to close on Mom’s house on the 31st. Got a call yesterday from the realtor and there is a problem with the title search. No, there is nothing owed and they can’t find where anyone can lay claim to the property. Problem is, they can find no title search or abstract has been done on that property at all to prove it. Ever. They see where it was farm ground prior to 1972, and they see where Mom and Dad owned it in 1976. They cannot find any reference to any owners between nor any abstracts. Nothing. Now, I thought allll that stuff had to be filed at the Courthouse when property changed hands. I though the banks kept those records too. They’ve had this for two weeks and are just now saying something. They say it can be done because they see where Mom and Dad bought the house on just their two signatures 35 years ago and the sellers were just two signatures with the same last names (husband and wife) AND they see were there was a mortgage so the banks would not have loaned if there was a problem then, and if nothing came up in 35 years..., but still…really? They are saying that, even though the house was sold 4 times in as many years (original builder lost the house in year one, second lasted two years until kids graduated, third less than a year due to divorce. Guess the new house didn’t fix things.) they can find NOTHING! about any one but us. But can't find the Title search paperwork. If We go down to the courthouse and get a copy of the Title insurance or Abstract , then I’m asking for a discount. Thing that gets me is, in my moving process, I FOUND the contract and all the paperwork from the sale of the house. No I did not throw it away, and no I'm not sure the Abstract is with it but they kept everything else. Where it is in the incredible amount of stuff….who knows. THAT is my plans for today, try to find the one thing that is stopping the sale. If I do find this thing, I want an even bigger discount. Still getting misty eyed about Tiff. Haven’t felt this way since we lost Pippa….I best go. I really love doggies. I’m sorry Ken. Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

In order to keep my position as Master and Supreme Ruler of the House, I don't argue with my wife.
I'm a small town boy. A product of two people from even smaller towns. I don’t talk on topic….. I just talk.
The wife is getting into the routine at the nursing home. The food is hit or miss, in that one meal is really good, and the next, not so much. Her evaluations for therapy have been done, and yesterday I was able to spend the afternoon with her in both occupational therapy and physical therapy. In occupational therapy she worked on strengthening her hands, arms and shoulders. Next we moved to a different floor for physical therapy where she worked on strengthening her legs with weights, getting out of the wheelchair by herself and sitting back down, and taking small steps on bars and a walker. She did well and was trying very hard. I could tell by the grimace on her face it wasn't easy. But considering she can't put any weight at all on the left leg, has arthritis in both hands and has little eyesight, she is determined to get past all of this.
I'm doing better at home with doing the washing, ironing, and housekeeping that I apparently took for granted for many years. Cooking, well that's a different story. Some things taste kind of weird. I could host a TV game show called "Guess the Entree". Nobody would win though.
As far as the loss of pets, it can surely hurt as much as losing any other family member. The hardest was a little mongrel I had as a kid. I was married when I had to have her put down 21 years later. Even my Dad, who didn't like dogs, cried on the way home from the Vet.
It's another cold, breezy and raint day here in Pittsburgh, so I guess I will get some chores done this morning, and then head out to see the wife after lunch. Everybody have a great day.

Good morning, Diners. Chloe, I will have a quick coffee before I head to town. I hope to swim before I go back down to set a couple more routes. Tonight I have a reception for my former boss and the new dentist taking over in the practice. And then after that is the local MR meeting. The topic tonight is DCC. Maybe we will get some new ideas.
Ken, Tiffany was a beautiful pup. Pearl sends her condolences.
Johnboy, I will try to get photos later this weekend. I am a busy lady.
Today is our anniversary. We have a funny thing. We have forgotten a few times. The goal is to be the one to remember first.
Later, Sue
Anything is possible if you do not know what you are talking about.
Morning All,
Doing my laundry right now and watching the CSI recording. I think I am going to work on a small modeling project today. I will post a picture later.
Ulrich- No offense, as someone that served 21 years in the military I whole heartedly agree with the sentiment. Remember it was a different time.
Ken- I am so sorry for the loss of Tiffany. I really believe that when you love an animal it makes a person more human. I hope you understand what I mean.
Sue- Congrats on your anniversary. How many years is it?
Everyone take care.

Good morning. It's 44° and sunny. The high will be 79° and it will remain sunny.I had to turn the heater on for a short time to take the chill off. Somebody has done knocked that barbed wire fence between here and the north pole down. Today I'll be checking some of the newer cars I haven't weighed yet. Who knows how light they may be. Other than that I don't see much happening here today.

Morning Folks!
Flo, Lemonade Please.
Thanks again for all the condolences. While the grieving is far from being done I am glad ordeal is. I hate forcing the pills down her and seeing her in such a state. Like I said, Tiff was all ready gone for awhile.
My last day of Freedom. Well I think? Have not heard from Dave again about which store I go to Saturday? When I am working for him, I sure hope is follow up is better than it has been!
Tom Glad to her your wife is working to get back on her feet. It will help make the stay a little shorter. Far as the food, just be glad some of the meals are good!
Todd Funny how things go sometimes. Good luck on the paper chase! Guess the last game made you feel a little better. Did not help my mood any!
Ulrich Great to see you back on the tour, this has been the best dinner tour hands down! Getting any Railroading done? Looking forward to some more pictures!
Train Front Installing the little 1.5 MM bulbs can be a pain in the caboose! Replaced the bulbs in my SD40-2 yesterday. Hope to get it button up and on the rails here shortly. Might even get my SD 50 going, my new motor should be at K-10 today.
Lot of running to do today and the never ending honey do list.
See you later
Good Afternoon,
as we are enjoying our train ride to Radebeul, I am already making plans for tomorrow. I think it´d be nice to throw in one more bonus tour. We´ll go to the town of Oybin - that´s as far southeast as you can go in Germany, a place surrounded by Poland and the Czech Republic.
It is a picturesque little town, but the best is the way we will travel there:
Ken - I have assembled the engine house kit, which is now waiting for the decals. I have also finished the plan for the depot module. My layout is changing all the time Now I still need to build a temple module and a town module, but that´ll have to wait until I put up the shelves for my layout. There ain´t any space left on my desk
Have a good time!
Ken: My condolences on your loss of Tiff. You did the best thing for her. I can understand how hard it is on you and how you must be feeling. I've been there. Three times. Our cat is 15 1/2 years old so it won't be long before it will be four times. It doesn't get any easier and we've never forgotten any of our previous pets.

Alternating clouds and sunshine here in the Finger Lakes this morning. Already hit the high of 50°F........
Already done a day's w*rk and only have about 4 more day's work to get done before evening. Running the washer at the moment while I was picking up and putting away items scattered all over the layout. Need to do some last minute printing for tomorrow and much more.
Catch you all later!
With all these pics I had to wait a minute for the page to load. Satellite internet is not as fast as the peeps at Hughes Net would have you believe. While it is blazing speed compared to dial-up it gets left in the dust by even the slowest broadband cable connection. I know this because Jeff has cable internet with just 1.2 mb download speed and he smokes me.
I know I have been away for a long while. I have been so busy with school that I have not had time to do anything else but eat and sleep. Today was a half day for me and no homework this weekend. I finally have some time to relax! Thank God this is my last year of high school!
Ken: Sorry to hear about Tiff. I hope my beagle, Max lives that long.

Afternoon All , Just stopped in for a late lunch. Flo I'll have a double cheeseburger with fries and a side of coleslaw. Hope every thing is going as well as too be expected . I'm trying to determine the easy way to repaint the Walthers Hiawatha tail car (Observation car ) to match my B&O passenger trains. I know that the B&O did not have that style of car, But I liked the look of it SO why not ( Rule # 1 - It's my Railroad, Rule #2- I make the rules , Rule#3 See Rule's #1) . I think i'll keep the roof the same black & gray along with the silver stripe around the back with new lettering. my problem is that I'm afraid of taking the car apart in fear of breaking the tabs that hold the roof and sides on. Would it be better to get some liquid masking for the windows and use masking tape for the rest of the areas. I managed to get the roof off earlier but one of the tabs started to break but was able to be glued back. Thanks for any suggestions on this.

Sue & Larry .... Congratulations on your ? anniversary.
Ken ... Sorry about your loss. Tiff was a beautiful dog.
JimCG ... The reason why my drive to MI was uneventful is because Shelley was already in MI. I was by myself.
PA Tom ... I hope your wife's recovery from a severly broken leg goes very well.

Afternoon folks!
Just taking a break for a few minutes. I'll have a RBF to tide me over to dinner time.
The bathroom is clean! At least as clean as it has been in the last 15 years or so. Chased off a bunch of spiders (the harmless cellar spider types) THAT had set up shop down under the toilet...... been a while since I cleaned under there.... Yuch! Mppoed the floor and washed down the walls (tiles), etc. Got the living room into livable shape. Even cleaned the aquarium! Still has 2 old, old fish in it, same it it did a year ago. I am about at the halfway point of what absolutely has to be done. I'm hoping the layout will run well without a lot of tweeking things. I have put away all the construction and scenery supplies, tools, and other such things. just need to vacuum and check out all the trains that will be used tomorrow.
Best be back at it....
Afternoon all....Its sunny and a warmer 55 here...even made a trip to store on my power chair...I'll have a double RBF please...Thank you...did some more work on Lost crick branch then did alittle pickup trying to keep things from getting to deep...been watching those"hording" shows on TV...
