Bob I've done that on my foam. In fact I did it just last weekend.
Lowest elevation on the SLOW would be near Hopewell Yard. The stream running under the yard lead and mainline would be leading to even lower elevation, but it isn't modeled......

I would say 61 feet is pretty wide for a HO train layout.
It is all so 80 feet long with over a real mile of track. Do a keyword search for K-10 model trains to see the rest of the layout.
