As per Jarrell's request:

Guys I'm changing the time limit rule from a 2 hour wait to ONE hour as of now.  Please try to keep requests to things most modelers are likely to have on their layout in some form.

WOW! I was beginning to have withdrawal symptoms! Confused

Here is my solution for saving on ballast material around this switch. Couple of wooden sticks that I colored with a brown Sharpie. It bled when I sprayed the water / alcohol mix on the ballast, but it worked for the intended purpose.

Show me an older model Chevy truck.

Guys I'm changing the time limit rule from a 2 hour wait to ONE hour as of now.  Please try to keep requests to things most modelers are likely to have on their layout in some form.

Nope, that is a Ford, but I'll take it. Is that a Vega in the middle of the line up?

It appears as if autumn has passed, but you won't get any winter views from me.  Here's a Walthers grain elevator which I recently moved from its original location.  During the move, it was modified slightly:

Here's the original location:

...and its new home:

Show me something on your layout that you've change from what it was originally, preferably with before and after photos.

 Said:  Show me a project

That's quite a broad request.  Here's an older one, my scratchbuilt 1/48 scale model of the depot at Silver Plume, CO.

Anyone else with a model you built from a prototype?

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Not scratchbuilt, but this is a model of the Kentucky Mine in Sierra City, CA.  The kit is from Grandt Line and is--yup--a model of the Kentucky Mine in Sierra City, CA.   I put mine in the middle of town, the actual mine is about 4 miles up the highway from town.

Selective compression, LOL!

show me your latest 'little' steamer acquisition.

Now somebody can show me an elevated structure.

Here is an elevated structure:

This is the latest Craftsman structure that I completed, the Camp Store.

When building it, I decided to "kitbash" it a little. I exchanged the kit provided door for a set of double doors, for all the crates and such. I also completely scratchbuilt the loading dock and ramp on the other side from stripwood. It was originally supposed to be flat on the ground, but I decided to move it up to the level of the boxcars. I built the pylons too tall, moved it next to a boxcar on that track, and slowly clipped them down until I it was level with the doors. I then glued down a flat styrene base, sceniced it, and glued the structure in place. Heres another photo:

And yes, I did fix the back leg.

Now, show me something that involves bookshelves, like a bookshelf staging yard, a mini diorama, or a collection of your favorite train books.

Thanks a lot!

(Oh, and as to the current conflict of answers, why dont we combine the two with something a younger person has scratchbuilt Laugh )

My latest acquisition, a Proto 2000 SW8. I'm in the process of replacing the plastic handrails on the hood with metal.

I'll post a photo when the job is completed.

Show me a downtown street scene.
