Show me your best weathered loco.
Here is my newest.
This little SW was too cheap to pass up. It is actually a SW800 I believe, but miss numbered. Lots to do with it before it is really road ready. It is shown on it DC maiden run.
Sorry. Too slow i guess.

Since the time has expired on the request, here's my offering: it's neither new nor an engine, but it is SOO Line and an almost new car for my late '30s layout.
Show me a private owner car (one with an "X" as the last letter in the reporting marks) that's not a beer reefer.
No SOO engines.
Show me a project, never mind.

I think that Pan Am is past its "best by" date, but here's something that's about as close as I can get to an airline connection:
Secord Air Services "ace" (spelling seems to vary ) Barney Secord flying his Stearman under the Maitland River Bridge:
Show me something DM&IR (like maybe a Yellowstone).
Whoa, it is quick tonite!
Motley here is your pic...
Doc, I hope this is close enough, I only know it as the wheel arrangement, but a unique model!
Please, show me another non-land going (should say: traversing) rail marque..
MotleyThat would be Pan Am Railways.
That's the one! For those not familiar, this is the true back story:
The owner of Guiford Rail Systems (formally, Guilford Transportation Industries, the one that bought B&M and MEC, among others) also likes airplanes. Some time ago he bought the rights to Pan American Airlines. Some years later he started a short haul airline using that name running out of Portsmouth NH. That business did not last very long, so last year he renamed Guilford to Pan American Railways and stated painting locomotives and rolling stock blue with the familar Pan Am globe logohttp://www.guilfordrail.com/
George, that is an excellent back story! I got this car because I was mentored by a superior retired engineer & precision modeler. He was a former engineer for Pan Am! So, as my picture shpows an untouched car, I plan to do something special to dedicate him, as modeling has enriched my life, & has given me endless enjoyment!!!!
Thanks!
CB&Q Heartland, a Big Congrats for the shot in MR, well deserved!!

We'll get there sooner or later!
Here is a detail Shot of my shelf display. It shows; Foxhole, Ferns, Mushrooms, a bedded down Doe, a Red Squirrel & a Pileated Woodpecker hole in the dead tree trunk. Lots of little treasures hidden in there. The Fox hole was accidental, just a void in the construction, & the rest were more intentional. The long exposure made it a little blurry, like how 'I see' things when I am in a moving car.....
Show Me Something, Unique Equipment to your railroad!
Something unique in all of Flyerdom, my camera car kitbashed from a work caboose. The camera shoots through the window in the forward door. The toolbox contains the battery.
Let's see something else in "S". Scale or tinplate. I know you're out there, S-scalers!
I have figured out what is wrong with my brain! On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!
Stebby,
That is an awesome contribution, I have been on the lookout for a good 'HD' microcamera myself. I have seen some excellent rail videos, & some not that good. Although my cam car will not be scale like yours, you win the "SPY" award in my book!! Thanks for sharing & inspiring!!
Back to Show Me Something 'S Scale or Tinplate' Please!
Show me a cheap Rolling Stock that you made track and roll great! I sure learned a lot from working on the cheap Tyco cars.
Ken ... I think your idea for a topic is a good one. There could be an entire thread just for re-built cheapie rolling stock (locomotives, too).
Here's a group of Tyco rebuilt cars. All have Kadees. Trucks are either replaced or re-wheeled. Weights are added if needed. Hoppers were "dime a dozen" CB&Q cars. Two were made a darker red by spraying boxcar red over them, and the lettering now looks realistically faded. Decks were replaced on flat cars with Evergreen scribed plastic. The GN flat car was repainted and decals were applied. The tank car was made from a salvaged junker. It was painted and weathered to look like a Burlington company services car for diesel fuel.
Please show more rebuilt rolling stock made from inexpensive Tyco or other cheapies.
For some reason I got hooked on the Old Dutch Hoppers? I drove the prices up on E Bay to about double the prices.
I cut the coupler box off the trucks, used PK2000 33inch wheels. Used the truck reamer tool to get then rolling freely. Used Kadee couplers and boxes. Attached the pockets with super glue to the floor of the car. You have to cut the two small ears off the coupler box so they don't hit the wheels and make the car derail. Found if you snip a Kadee washer on one side you could slip them around the Tyco trucks mounting point. Added some weights and they where ready to roll.
Get some funny looks when I break out 30+ of them at K-10.
Show me something else you made work better.
I tuned this turnout to stop shorts at the frog.
Show me a circus or carnival scene.

Well Hamilton, the time has long run out on your request. So..............
This week a new 40' Roundhouse Pickel Car was added to the roster.
It is not used as a pickle car but for hauling vinegar.
National Fruit Products makes all kinds of apple products under the White House Brand. Perhaps you have seen them in stores. The main plant is right here where I live but I didn't chose to model it.
Now show me an industry in your home town that you did model.
