CNCharlie

Good Evening,

We are supposed to get rain tomorrow and believe me it will be welcome. Not as dry as down Paul's way but close I think. Amazing to think that we had one of the wettest springs on record.

Well flooding is something that all Winnipegers know only too well. If it weren't for our floodway  we would have been goners in 1997 and this year too. In 1997 they said there would have been 10' of water downtown and covering over half of the city which has a population of 600,000. The floodway is a man made river channel that goes completely around the city with a control gate that can be used to force the water flow into the floodway channel.  It was built in 1966 and to think that the Premier was criticized at the time for spending such a large amount of money a whole 250 million.  It would cost a couple of billion to do now.

Garry, so you like cinammon rolls or buns as we call them. Me too!!  Have you tried one toasted? Put it on a grill and then butter the toasted side. Can we say heaven?  Oh and a cup of Ray's dark roast to go with it.

Did a little work on the N scale layout. I'm slowly getting the risers and cork down.  I did get an Atlas RS11 in the mail today. It is in Duluth, Winnipeg and Pacific livery. The DW&P is a CN subsidary and has been for many years so it is in CN green and yellow. I like the looks of RS11s and am glad to finally get one.

Well time to head out to the land of Nod.

CN Charlie

Good morning.  I'll just have a cinnamon bun and coffee please Flo.  You did it when you mentioned cinnamon buns, Charlie.  I love toasted cinnamon buns.  When my wife was working evenings, I would pick her up after work and on Friday nights we would stop at the Sals on Pembina at Stafford and I would always have a toasted cinnamon bun.  Yum, yum, yum.  Our daughter manages the local watering hole/restaurant in Ridgevile and the cook there makes delicious cinnamon buns fresh every day.  They're so soft and gooey that you have to eat them with a fork.

Glad to hear that work is coming along on your layout.  I wish I could say the same for mine.  Haven't done anything to it for a very long time.  Too many other things to keep me busy.  All my modelling time at the moment is devoted to scratchbuilding a structure that I saw and want on the layout.  I've got the templates drawn now and am ready to start cutting the holes for the doors and windows.  It will take a while to finish it but I'm enjoying my first attempt at scratchbuilding.  One thing I really should do is run a train on a section of track with temporary feeders and send it to my buddy in B.C.  He claims that I enjoy building the layout too much and that I will be building it up to the day I die and will never have run any trains on it.  I gotta prove him wrong.  I have to admit that building and doing scenery is my favourite thing, though.

I see it's finally raining.  I hope we get a decent amount of rain.  We need it.  It's way too late for the farmers, but the ground is so dry it's shrinking back from the sidewalks and the curbs.  Yes, our floodway has been a godsend over the years.  The premier of the time, Duff Roblin, deserves all the praise and credit he can get for standing up to the criticism of the opposition and the people for spending all that money.  I remember the 1950 flood that prompted the building of the floodway and I've got photos of it.  Never again.

I just stepped outside to take a few deep breaths of the cool rainswept air.  Oh, that feels so good!

Good Morning All,

Just a regular to go please. Roped into seeing why my sisters' car won't start and helping change headlights on a Pontiac Wave (Chevy Aveo to me). Then off to my friends garage to inspect said Wave as sisters Toyota has over 250,000km on it and is weary so maybe Wave is good for her. The Pontoon belongs to a friend of hers who is moving back to Germany (Frankfurt) and needs to unload the car so....... It's always something.

Der - If you like the outdoors, Keji is not to be missed. The place was almost deserted Sunday after the season and all. Trail distances vary from 1.5km to multi day hiking/camping trails.

Ken - as already mentioned, the van won't run right if the voltage is below 12v and won't run at all if it's below 9v. A tub of injector cleaner is in order as well and fresh fuel will help. The Aerostars are generally pretty good vehicles. Hopefully you won't need to jump through as many hoops to reregister a salvage vehicle as we do in Connecticut. I still haven't gotten the 2000 Focus done.

Galaxy - I feel your pain and don't begrudge you the soapbox but also feel the press may have an axe to grind. Subway is definitely minimum wage territory but I know UPS is union though I don't know if the UPS stores are also. Still I wouldn't mind trying to scrape by on $6.2 mil gross. or the $600,000 net. I'd be much happier if there were a plan in place to build up employment. Here's your soapbox back.

      Cheers to all, J.R.

Mornin' Everyone!

Zoe, I see you have fresh baked cinnamon rolls again this morning, so I'll have a couple of them to go along with my dark roast coffee this morning.  I'll stay away from the guys standing on the soapbox this morning and just chill out....

(sits back, puts feet up on chair)  A few years back when I finally had a bit more $$$ coming in than I absolutely needed to pay my bills, I used the entire extra to get out of dept.  Having finally accomplished THAT, I will now pay cash for all purchases if possible!  I had a great uncle who lived THAT way for most of his life, and he was known as a person who was both frugal and had the best of most everything.  (He used to write a check for his new car every 2 years....) I figure If I can't pay the bills there are only 3 viable long term options.  Getting a loan can only help in the very short run.  I either have to 1) cut expenses, 2) increase income, or 3) do a combination of both............  I like the #3 best.  Makes sense to me.  Hmmmm.  I also know from a Bible study I took years ago, that in the ancient times, every time there was a huge disparity between the Rich and the Poor and the largest portion of the people were the very poor, watch out!  Hard times will follow......

What Flo?  No, no, just casual talk.... No soap box needed here......

I will be trying to get all the stuff done today I didn't get done yesterday plus a few more items.....  Do hope i can spend some time in the train room!

Hope you all have a great day!

Jeffery, Master Of Mismatching. Have you ever fitted a BB F-7 shell to a PK 1000 F-3 chassis? I am wanting to fit a A unit shell to a PK 1000 chassis. I am guessing in anyone here at the site has done it, it will have been you.

It's a tight fit but it can be done. I've done it with both A and B shells new and old. Right now I have a Proto 1000 chassis wearing a 60's era Athearn Hi-F F7B shell.

It's a damp and cool day here in Pittsburgh, and it's expected to remain that way through the end of the week. We have been busy the last couple of days, and the shedule through the end of October is filling up fast. The wife and I got our flu shots at the Doctors last week, so that is one fall activity out of the way.

Sunday we went railfanning at my favorite spot on Norfolk Southern's main line. We usually stop at a fast food place an get an order to go. Kind of an express picnic while we sit and watch trains. Caught 7 trains in about 2 hours. Also got to look over a Dash-9 and an SD60 that were tied down on a siding in the industrial park.

You don't appreciate how huge these things are until you can get up close. I don't know why I didn't think to get my wife to stand next to the Dash-9 to show how small a person is relative to these monsters.

Monday was our running around day. First to the good old ATM, then breakfast at our local restaurant, then weekly grocery shopping, the pharmacy, the library and finally the Mall. Then out to dinner. The restaurant we had dinner at had some kind of a promotion a couple of weeks ago where people cold drop off their favorite receipes. My niece did, and was asked to return and cook hers. It was then put on the menu for a week, and if it was popular, would be put on the menu permanently. It was for "gnucchi with a tomato cream sauce". I must say it was delicious. I hope it makes it as she is an excellent cook. I've always been a meat and potatos person, but she has me eating things I never would before.

The wife wants to go to the casino on Thursday, and then we will be going to Harrisburg for one of our great nephew's 5th birthday party this coming weekend. If Sunday is a nice day, we might take a detour on the way home to railfan a little at Horseshoe Curve, Cresson and Cassandra.

Hope everybody has a great day. Tom

Strong coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please.

***Tom, neat pic of that beast.

I wish the number of financially successful people was on the rise and that Govt power and control was in the decline. That would be a step in the right direction towards creating jobs. Redistribution of wealth through Govt is a really bad idea, not to mention extremely wasteful.Mischief

Emptied the shopvac to start cleaning up the train room floor. Will tackle that task this evening. Today, we're going to set a few more fence posts.

Hope y'all have a great day.

My wife couldn't find the "good stuff" for horse wound treatment. For now, I'll use what she did get and hope it helps.

Cheers! Cowboy Rob

Hello? What happened to the lunch crowd?

Flo, wake up! Can I have a beer please?

Hum, wonder what all the other people are doing lately? Hope they are working on there layouts.

Mini Van Front Today I set the charger on a 2 amp deep cycle charge and did my running. Checked at a Title Company and I can get a title. Yes I can, BUT a body shop with a re builders licenses has to get the title. That tile is $95.00 not counting any fees a shop might want, then my title and plates will be another $245.00. Figures my Daytona plates are do this month.

Went back to Bobs and the van did take a charge, so maybe the battery is good. Checked the oil, it needs to be changed and was 1.5 quarts low. Added a quart of oil, and added some fuel stabilizer to the gas which is full! Fired it up and ran it for about 20 minutes. Well it still runs like death, but oil pressure is good, engine is quite. It would idle after it warmed up, but very badly. Put it in reverse and transmission (auto) mad a zing sound but moved. In forward it hesitated then moved. Could not get it out of the back lot because a 55 Belair was in the way so I parked it.

Could just be low in transmission fluid, but it was late and I was done messing with it for the day. Going back Wednesday for round 2.

 Dropping by later.

Evenin' folks!

Flo, I'll have the Pulled Pork sandwich, Baked Potato, and a trip to the salad bar.  Oh and a glass of Earle Estates Finger Lakes Pear Mead....  Thank you Ma'am!

Mead?  Why THAT is Honey Wine.  The drink of Beowolf!  Wonderful STUFF....  (To quote Barry)

Speaking of Barry....  Sounds like you got to deal with a lot of STUFF today.  Guess we should give you an honorary degree in STUFFOLOGY, huh?  Always liked using the word STUFF ever since the technology teacher across the hall from me came over and showed my one of the students paper from a test he gave THAT day....  The question was to define "Technology".  The girl put down, "....Things we use to make STUFF!"  The next day the techer put a new sign for his class up over his doorway, it read, STUFFOLOGY!

Today he would have been fired for embarrassing the poor sweet little thing. Whistling  One Technology teacher did get into major trouble after putting up a sign in his room reading, "Clean up after yourself!  Your Mother doesn't work here!"

I too got some STUFF done today....  Still have time to get some more STUFF done as well.

Ken, I do hope you aren't paying much for the car....  By the time you get it on the road it may have been cheaper to fix up the old "Back or rude ah"......

Later!

Ken had a new Daytona not a bacaruda. a barracuda or an old Daytona for that matter woulda been  worth saving a new Daytona, not so much. It's really difficult to get a usable car when you're in difficult circumstances (after all you drove a beetle the German deathtrap all those years ago when you couldn't afford anything else). No worries mate, I drove one too - a 55 with no starter motor all my college years (fortunately Igot thrown out of college early and was soon into a Volvo which was all around a better car until I could afford a Ford. Was that alll one sentence? Any who how in this modern world we live in one must have wheels, no? In any event the application of sweat equity can make a difference for those of us with limited means - witness Jeffs majestic Dodge van.

After getting sisters car running this afternoon we went off to  the Keji adjunct or seaside  preserve where we took another hike and saw besides seals and birds, a snake and a bunny rabbit. This is worth mentioning because we saw nothing at the main Keji except some mosquitos and a couple of dragonflies.

Cutting this short as I amusing CFO's mini keyboard and it keeps going places that I don't want it too and sooner or later it will dump this whole post. CUL, J.R.

Evening, all

Well, got another rumored "confirmation" that Home Depot won't open again. At least not in THAT floodplain location. That will give the two Lowes a boost and a few other smaller Home Centers a boost too. I think Home Depot got a snow job done on them anyway when they built there. Everything there before flooded, though it is next to a dike. They tore down the damaged buildings that were there, saying they didn't fit their plans.

Another row of shops in JC won't open again either. One new plaza was just built. Again, it is a known flood zone and I think they got a snow job. Gander Mt. Sporting goods store had just opened in 2006, when they got flooded out and thought about not opening again. Snowed into believing it was only a "500 year flood", they re-opened. They won't again,. at least not in that location.

After the problems Petco had about the manager refusing to let willing employees take animals home that would have saved them from drowning, and the CEO blaming the JC govt and the JC govt blaming and possibly leviing charges against them and PETA showing up to protest teh store, they would be far better off NOT opening again!!

I missed the FEMA totals tonight on the news. Suffice it to say as more people and businesses apply, it will rise from the $13 million of yesterday.

Govenor Cuomo siad he will apply for other Fed funds as "NY is not a state that typically floods a lot", "so there are other funds NY may be eligable for". True enough, bu the one-two punch of Irene and Lee is what did it.

Sad to drive through areas where there is devastation, naturally. We passed on driving home Old Vestal Road as it would be too heartbreaking to see that. Thursday we will drive through Owego on the way out to friends in the country for dinner. Owego Town was almost totally flooded, even if by just inches on the first floors in some areas, it filled basements and all. Poor old Victorian Mansions inthe Historical District that have stood for 150 years +/- that got flooded.

Well, Went to pulmonologist and had my CPAP machine pressure increased. Pretty soon, like our furnace, I will be able to fly away with it,.....

SOothing the "burns" the dermatologist did yesterday with teh liquid Nitrogen to freeze off things on my head that sem to keep popping new ones  out every year. Better than skin cancer again though. These things are basically harmless, but should be frozen off for safety's sake.

Well, will see you all tomorrow!

Sleep well, I hope I finally do!

Talk at you later!

You referring to 'The Beast' as my niece calls it? You don't realize how big it is until you're standing next to it. It's a good testament to what some blood and sweat can do to turn a non-drivable rusted hulk into something that runs well and looks descent. It took a few months but I got it into running condition again. It has a new three speed automatic tranny but the engine is the original 318 V8 that came in the van. Even after thirty-one years it doesn't burn oil and doesn't leak oil. The hardest part to find was a good starter. I was able to get a NEW (not rebuilt) high torque starter from Nippondenso, a memeber of the Toyota group. The starter set me back $150. The only other part I had trouble with was the steering column which was totally shot. An internet search turned up a perfect match in Waco Texas. It cost $120 including shipping.

The first three photos are of what it looked like when I got it.

The following photos were taken after it was repainted.

People and animals get out of the way when I hit the horn. That's the rectangular thing with the blue circle in the middle. It's 185 db's of eardrum shattering noise.

Ah.......  Yes.......... (nods head)....  Ah, Yes, I got cornfoosed for a bit there.  Yep it was a ah.....  Let me see, it's a place down in Flowidah...  Oh yeah, Daytona.  Used to think the old Bacarudas were quite the thing back in High School.  I was usually driving my Dad's 1956 Dodge half ton pickemup truck most of the time....  Used to drive it the 3.5 miles from the farm and stop at the first gas station in town to fill up the oil....  Truth!  Sorry Ken!  I remembered you liked the Barracuda that's all and it got misplaced in my old brain.  BTW, JR, I kept on driving Bugs for a good many years because I like them, not because I couldn't have gotten a different car.  I especially liked the 1971 Super Beetle I had.  Had an extractor exhaust on it and and used to do wheelies with it in the parking lot at Chemung School.  One little kid out there named Brett Bodine thought it was the coolest thing going back then.....Smile, Wink & GrinLaugh  I also used to love getting behind the wheel of one of my neighbors Porsche 911 T back in those days...... A 55 eh?  My second one was a 56.  It had 237,000 miles on it when it died on the first day of Spring in 1969....  I kept telling people it had to get me through the winter.  It did.  I paid $275 for it, put about 35,000 miles on it and then sold it for $75 to a guy who made it into a dune buggy!  Pretty cheap transportation I think.

Finally did spend some time with the layout tonight.  Found all kinds of little things THAT need to be corrected before I open the layout for the Fall Meet in a month....  Little things like out of gauge track, some wiring THAT never got finished (to a frog), and a few other things.  I did buy a new kitchen sink and faucet today and check all the tires on the truck, trailer, and log splitter and fill them to where they should be with air.  Also cut up the rest of the old desk I took out of the office area a few weeks ago.  It is all neatly stored in the mini dumpster to wait for pick up in a couple weeks.

Hope all of you had a great day!

Green Tea with Mint, please.

Did y'all see the German train crash after hitting a car? Here's the article and pics: http://news.yahoo.com/photos/german-train-hits-car-derails-1316540458-slideshow/#crsl=%252Fphotos%252Fgerman-train-hits-car-derails-1316540458-slideshow%252Fwreckage-car-sits-besude-rail-track-front-derailed-photo-135931643.html

Never made it back down to the train room to start clean up. To tuckered out after doing a little work on the fence.

Evening all.  Just stopping in to catch up on things and have a RBF before bed.  Had to w**k today and it wasn't all that bad, I kinda enjoyed things, tomorrow is another w**k day for me, as it is truck day.

Ken: Glad to hear that the Aerostar is coming around.  It might take a bit to get it to run better if it has sat up for a while.

Rob: Hope that my test procedure helped you with figuring out what's happening with your Chevy truck...of course you could always just whack the starter with a hammer and see if she cranks....if it does, its the starter, if it doesn't, well....there you go!

Welp, nothing else is happening around here, got some laundry to put up, might have to drive to Pensacola tomorrow afternoon to check up on my wife's cousin's car (she's in school down there), and it won't run well, so I'm guessing its tune-up time.  Think I'm going to head to bed.

Good Morning!! Ooo! The diner looks all fancy shmansy this morning. What’s the occasion?

Coffee and a cheese flip danish kinda thing Thanks.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 74.

Up with the chickens today. Been up bout 2 hours now. Got off w**k last night and went straight to bed. I guess a bit too early. Still miserable from head stuff, but I have been through my E-mail and determined there is nothing on E-bay I absolutely needed.

Ken- Last time I checked, about ten years ago or so, in the state of Illinoyz a salvage title con not be turned into a regular title. Once it’s salvaged they say it is always salvage regardless of what you do. Don’t know if it’s changed or not, but considering, I doubt it. Well, scratch that, I see where you have been given the info I was not. Possibly because I more than likely asked can “I” get this since “I…” As opposed to “how” can I..yada yada yada. Personally, and this is me mind you, I would smile at Bob, tell him you “appreciate the offer and it is a good deal, but I’m afraid it just may turn in to more than I can deal with right now.” My opinion, if you have to fight this much to get it running… Maybe this isn’t the one for you. Of course, J.R. Has a very valid point too.

Notice how I can offer advice and you still don’t know how I stand on something. Do you suppose that’s why my wife just looks at me and frowns?

Galaxy- AngryYou have GOT to be kidding me. I guess I missed the first time you mentioned about the manager refusing to let the employees save the animals. I would be, well I AM, LIVID!!! That is the most….most….I don’t know what word to use that you can print. THAT manager would be fired, and put up for the community to do as they see fit. I have NEVER heard of something like that. Especially from a place that DEALS in animals. PETCO has got to be just reeling after that publicity got out. Oh I would hate to be that person on sooo many levels.

I can’t help but notice how appropriate Rob’s signature lines are right now. Even in hard times, I think I’d rather have hard times here than anywhere else I’ve been. The legislatures just need to get their heads out of their biological exhaust ports and do what is good for the country and not what is good for them.

Today is bill pay daySigh. The Pony Express just dropped off every one of them I think, so I’ll use what’s left of my money for that. Good thing I have not had much time for MRRing or… I don’t know where that was leading. I’m a bit separated from myself. See, Pseudoephedrine(sp?) is the only thing that works for me. Well “works” isn’t exactly accurate, let’s say.., “works” the best. Problem is there is a side effect and that is it makes things noticeably slower to register with me. Especially if I have to make a conscious thought. Such as recalling a story, or event, reading and comprehending, and, of course, listening and comprehending. Not that I can’t, but it is noticeable to others that something is amiss.

Today also is the day I get the rest of my hair cut. If you recall, a couple weeks ago I cut 4 inches off the golden locks. Last week I shaved, and tonight at 6 I will have the rest professionally removed. Well, not all of it, but a normal haircut. And at Ray’s suggestion, I shall get all of my hairs cut while I’m there. Cost is the same. After I shaved, this girl I know, who is about twenty 6 or seven, I forget, said I looked much younger with my beard shaved. So I asked her out on a date and, she acceptedBig Smile. I thought “cool, this is alright. I should have shaved a long time ago.” She is very pretty, (actually, I’d say that she is still very "cute" would be more accurate) So I was pretty much having a good day until Brenda said no. She always says no. I don’t know why I bother. Maybe after I get my haircut.

Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

Good Morning All,

Saturday I spent the day with Champion Windows.  The windows in the back of the house are literally rotted so bad I could pull them out by hand.  The technical measurer and lead test guys will be out tomorrow night.  Sunday I dug a 5’ wide hole 8’ deep to let the plumber inspect my drain connections on the side of the 1978 new addition and replaced an elbow and a tee plus improve the slope of the drain along the house for the gutters.  It was a 12 hour project to clean up the mess, landscape and replace the downspouts.  Monday I went shopping and bought drainage crock, grate, and ½ yard of #57 crushed lime stone.  Then we cut a hole in the driveway.  Tuesday we dug out about a yard of soaking wet brown clay, poured cement, installed the drain crock, and back filled.  Now I need the building inspector to come out and check out my handy work so I can pour the rest of the concrete.  Everything hurts this morning, but I saved about $1000.00 doing the project myself.  I still have about 2 yards of clay in the back yard I need to haul to the landscaping dump.

Der John, I’m use to Short Tons, Long Tons, and Gross Tons, grains are what get in my shoes when I walk on sand, LOL.

Good morning, Chloe.  Did I hear someone say cinnamon rolls? That sounds great with my coffee.

Rob,  You are making me feel guilty.  We have some posts that are starting to lean.  They have needed to be replaced for a couple of years.  When you don't have any critters it makes you slack off.  I am waiting for the rain to start so I am not working in concrete.  It will be a different excuse tomorrow.Laugh

Later,  Sue

Good morning. It's 66° and partly sunny. Still real bright despite the clouds. The high will be 88° and it will be cloudy with some sun.

Nothing special going on today. I may start work on a B&O bay window caboose but it's not what you think. The rear half will be rebuilt into an open-air redneck paradise with a fridge, grill and chairs. I'll also be creating new shortcuts to my favorite Windows applications and programs. The old ones were destroyed when I had to reinstall Windows a few days ago.

 Morning All!

 Flo, Diet Dew Please.

JR Boy I wish the Daytona that died was a 69 and not a 91! Hum, with a bad motor, slipping trans, no wipers, no headlights, and rust holes it would only be worth say $40,000.00. Whistling

If I had not got into trains (could get the Daytona in the Garage) and had a good income I would fix it. For a boring car it was still a good looking car.

Todd IL has two kind of titles these days for salvage. 1 is a salvage title, the other one is a junk title. Junk title you can not do a thing with but make beer cans out of the car or truck.

Cost of Aerostar. Well it is getting up there, $450.00 for the van, $95.00 for re-builders title then $125.00 for my title and $120.00 for plates. So I am at $790.00 and the van still run's like caboose.  Right now, I still need to see if the transmission is good. Then see if I can get Bob on the cheap figure why it runs badly.  If it is a $100 to $200.00 fix, it might be worth it. I would then have $1,000.00 into it, you cannot buy much in the way of a used car these days for a $1,000.00.

Jeffery Smile, Wink & Grin I just realized you paint your Beast to look like your Diesels! Whistling Here I thought you never got around to painting the rest of it White!

Galaxy. Idiot Petco Manger should be made to clean up all the dead animals by them self! Now, I can understand why there are rules about the employees not taking animals home! But I don't think the rule was made so if the store gets flooded, you leave the animals to drown!

Well that is it for now.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a blueberry muffin w/ lots of real butter and a cup of dark roast coffee in my R&GV RR mug.  Thank you Ma'am.

My day started with a phone call from the allergist office....  They can't refill my bottles of serum for my shots until they do a complete allergy sensitivity recheck....  Of course it will be 3 weeks before they can fit me in for the tests. Grumpy  First I knew i had to get it done right now...  So for the next 3 weeks of the allergy season i get to snuff, sneeze, and blow my nose a lot.

Ken, if you can get it back into good running shape for a total of $1000, go for it!  Mighty cheap transportation I'd say.  How much can you get for the Daytona for scrap or is THAT part of the deal?  BTW, how are prospects on the job front?

Galaxy, I would think the Petco manager down there will be facing cruelty to animals charges!  Remind me not to shop there.  (Actually I have never shopped there anyway......)  First time I have ever agreed with PETA. Whistling

I think I will be spending some time on the layout today....  Have to do the laundry so THAT puts me down cellar anyway.  Smile, Wink & Grin

Catch you all later!

Coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please.

***Sue, wish I could use that excuse (actually, I have a few times), but even without the critters I would still want this particular fence up to keep potential rifraf out.

***Bama, I still have not found the tester, so I guess the hammer is the only thing to try at the present time.

Have a good day all.

Yes, Jeff. it's the gear tower in a Hobbytown locomotive. I still have several Hobbytowns out of several I have owned. It can be fun tinkering with them. They offered alternative gear ratios, and some engines could crawl smoothly at very low speeds.

You nailed that quick. The one I have still runs great. It's GP7 shell still looks good. I have a new GP9m shell coming. I hope it fits. If not I'll have to get a GP9m chassis to go with the shell.
