From Sat morning until Sunday morning there were 5 or 6 actual replies to a request. That's a little sad. Sat a week ago there were roughly 15 or 16, a drop of about 65%. A week ago requests were made for things like 'piles of stone', 'livestock', 'something with the letter X in it' and 'fallen flags', all great requests and things most guys would have on their layout, or at least a high probability.
Perhaps there were simply less members playing. Maybe it was something else?
The last request was Show me a Trailer on a flat car (piggy back)
which there should be 10,000 at least out there!

Time is up again.

simon1966 We are running out to time here, PC, what exactly is a "Wooden water car" I realize I don't actually know whar it is?

Here's an example of a wooden water car......
I do not have one, since a lot of the forum members model "earlier times" (steam), I thought for sure someone would have one

Simon, that is such a cool idea and it allows the kids to get involved with the hobby.
PC, great job on the open hoppers.

TOO FUNNY! almost like we're posting at the same time. Obviously there's a slight delay with the "refresh" button.
Uh-oh, now we are really stuck.... in a feedback loop.........back and forth deferring to each other
Show me a wooden water car.. and if it happens to be Canadian, even better!
WOW! 2 months and umpteen thousand posts and I get to play! The coal hoppers are my first attempt at weathering and using an airbrush.
Show me a wooden water car Dang! Simon posted as I was typing.....go with his request.
OK, I'm honored by the passing of the torch, back to the wooden water car
Not my personal first attempt, but the first attempts of two of my nieces and nephews. I have about a dozen cars on the layout that represent the first and only efforts of kids in the family. When they visit the layout for the first time, they get to pick out a Blue Box or some other simple kit from the stash and have fun assembling and weathering "their freight car" When ever they visit after that, they always want to run a train with "their car"!
Show me something Canadian
Even though I snuck in first I defer to the newbie! Much rather have new folks join in..
No switch stands? This one is well past the expiration time....
Show me your first attempt at weathering a rail car.
OK, here is the hand laid crossover from the project for the AP Civil Certificate Merit Award.
Show me a close up of a switch stand.
Times up on the n scale steamer.
Show me a crossover.
Well, I decided to post this not for its beauty, but for its lack of detail and improper dimensions. I used as a mock-up to test the looks of a scene I intended to model, but discarded the idea a little later.
