What can be more wintery than Christmas?

Seriously, show me something more wintery than Christmas...

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Jarrell, reason I did it is the way he said it. "Seriously, show me something more wintery than Christmas...". What is more wintry than Christmas? Now, if he had asked for another wintry scene would have kept my Keyboard Shut. Whistling

I will go stand in the Round House Corner now. Sigh

It's been awhile sense I've been on here, when I got my Broadway Limited AC6000 I ran into a little problem with the clearance on my turntable.  The front end of the forward truck would clip the edge of the plate covering the gears, I so did some work and added a 1/4 of an inch clearance.  So my my AC6000 can be turned with no problem.

Ken....  Nope!  Videos were specifically banned to answer a request from the beginning.

Since some people can't resist showing their prototype photos (you know who you are Wink ), here's an idea for a thread.  However, I am entirely too irresponsible to do it so I'm throwing it out in the wind:

Your model(s) and the prototype you modeled it on.  Could be a single model , a yard, or an entire city.

After all of the little side trips, we're still looking for a Santa Fe FP45, although the original request was made by BRVRR after posting a non-qualifying photo.  That one's time is up, but Bruce has re-requested the FP45.  Anybody?

Yawn.... good Labor Day morning.  Still morning here in CDT and finished the immediate chores my wife added to the ones I knew of in advance, so I can get backon "Show Me."

Sorry I shut down the board last night with an unmeetable request..  I thought "show yourself showing off your layout to a guest" would be an easier one than most.  I guess when anyone is having guests, he is too busy hosting, serving refreshments, keeping trains running, watching for trespassing fingers etc to take his own picture with the visitors.

Next time maybe I'll try to be a little easier, like asking for a one-of-a-kind car from an obscure railroad in a minority scale with a reporting mark that is a prime number in the Fibbonici series.

Time's up on the SP Caboose

So let's go back to what I think was the legitimate current request, since the fp45 came in long after the next request was posted.  Also I think Dan the Man, on the previous page manged to get his posting into the wrong thread?

Edit added later.  My mistake, sorry about that., it appears that the FP45 was the legit posting.  However the SP caboose was expired so it does not materially impact the thread.  Apologies for upsetting anyone.

This is my first post on the Show Me Something thread.  Here is a Buckeye crossbuck.  A style of crossbuck to my knowledge only found in Ohio (installed new from 1993-2003).

This is a basic railroad crossing.  Now show me a railroad crossing with working lights flashing.  Not just the signals, but the signals activated.  Good Luck!

Cody Opsitnik

Yeah.  I'm a teenager.  I'm a Model Railroader.  Your point?  I guess I'd rather have fun with friendly people that want me to succeed as apposed to my drug experimenting, smoking, premarital love making peers that want me to slouch down to their level!  I'm proud to say I'm keeping the hobby alive for years to come!

Thank You for dealing with me.  I realize I may ask some common sense questions to you guys, but I don't have the experience that a lot of you do.  I try to do some research first before asking questions, but sometimes it's easier to just ask the experts!!  Star

I refer you to doctorwayne who at 12:05 pm today re-requested the fp45. I posted well within the 2 hour limit, not illegitimate as you describe.
I am sorry you were offended.

A Kenworth...

Even I am confused as to what request to honor at this point.. So...

Without going back and researching the last few pages I believe doctorwayne was bumping up a request made by someone else earlier, that's all.  It's easy to get time confused when people from several time zones are requesting/answering.

As always the real 'trick' to this is to keep requests as simple as possible.  Smile

and it seems to be the hardest part for all of us to do.  It is very helpful, if someone makes a comment post within the thread to be sure and copy/paste the request at the end.

I was not confused - just using the time from my email - this forum uses a 3hr+ my time zone. This makes it 3:05 forum time it was posted; my response was at 4:32 forum time.  I presumed "bumping up"  was legitimate since nothing was happening. I am amazed a SP caboose is considered not simple enough. My pictures have never been so ill-received, I'm afraid I will have to leave you folks to disparage each other.

To those who are taking "Show Me Something" far to serious. Please don't.

So times get messed up. So what if pictures get posted out of turn some times. It is for fun. It will have absolutely no bearing on the rest of our life's. Just enjoy it for the light hearted fun it is.

Zeno ...

I'm a bit sad to read your post. You said your photo was 'ill-recieved". Actually, you posted a nice picture of the FP45, and it looks like you have a good layout, too. I do have an SP caboose as you requested. However, I like seeing work from other people too, and so I did not post my SP caboose hoping to see another one.

Evidently there is a little misunderstanding and confusion going on, today.  I don't think you hurt anybody's feelings, and I hope your feelings are not hurt.

This thread rarely has acknowledgments of other peoples pictures because it moves quickly.  Jarrell started the first "Show Me" thread, and he has been kind enough to watch over it, and keep it moving and on topic.

Have a nice day, Zeno

Sorry Zeno, my mistake.  I did not catch the bump.   I am sorry if you consider your pictures "ill received", since nobody, myself included, has said anything the least but disparaging about your photo content or subject matter.  I was simply trying to keep it moving and encourage some new folks to post their photos.  Even that did not work as Cudaken miss understood my request.Big Smile  Anyway, we are now back to my original intent with Chads request.
