Show me something - September 2011 edition
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 11:55 PM

Welcome to this month´s "Show me something" thread!

The last question was:

"Show me some white water  rafters"

Looking forward to seeing tons of great pictures!

Well, it's been over four hours since the original request for "white water rafters".   As you can see, an aerial search of the area found no sign of the hapless adventurers:

One of the first of the breed!

Show me something obscure that you have been waiting over a month to post but no one has asked for it yet.

I'll bite.  Here's some of my earliest work, a 4x6 N scale layout circa 1977 or so.

Show me your earliest work...

Here's the Strumpet Brewery in Moose Bay, from the track side:

This is a background building, barely an inch thick, but it's on the aisle so I did the interior as a "sliced-off" building for people to see from the back of the layout.  There's a subway station right below it.

Show me a caboose with marker lights.

Jarrell,

Thanks for initiating " Show me something".

It's success speaks for itself !!

I've only been on the forum for over four years but this is the first time I've seen a thread locked because it was so popular. You may have the record of being the only poster to have done so.

CONGRATULATIONS and thanks.

Train crew's back alley cut-through to Lumberjack Cookhouse.

Another of my crazy "show me's."  There's an old ditty-

"Railroad Crossing, Look out for the cars!

Can you spell that. Without any R's?"

Show me something on your layout you can spell without any R's.

That's what I got from it. Real forest, large scale model train. I just looked at the forest type debris to see the difference.

Cool that you thought it was real.  That is probably the best compliment I could get, thanks.

Yes, as others mentioned, it's our large scale layout (outdoor).  1:22.5 scale trains with 1:1 scale trees Wink
