This may be rather Bulbous of me, but my question is... If you are traveling in your Loco (model or full scale) at the speed of light and turn on your head light--- can you see it??

read the screen.

Two additional questions

Is the bulb a: Right hand Screw, Left hand Screw or bayonet?

And are the people who are replacing it right or left handed?

you forgot the 37 people to respond to the lightbulb listing just to tell you how funny it was or what you forgot.

and the 6 people who respond in a some-what off topic way because they read one of many replys and wanted to respond to a certain reply and not the original topic.

It's all fun though... [:)]

I am totally offended by the non-inclusion of Philips bulbs!! It certainly shows the bias of everyone towards the "big 2"!!! I will never, ever post here again and I will e-mail Bergie to get this thread deleted ASAP!! But right now, I'm going to hold my breathe until everyone agrees with me!![:o)][:D][(-D][(-D][(-D][:P][:)][}:)][:D]

Now that was just as funny as the original post (and too true)! [8D]

It just keeps gettin' better...

And isn't that the theme song on Philips commercials?[:0][:p]

Well a crocus bulb is a light bulb. A Bearded Iris bulb is a heavy bulb.

I hope this clears up the confusion.

When I connect a wire from my power pack to one bulb and then run a wire from that bulb to another bulb and then run a wire from the second bulb back to the other terminal on the power pack, everything works ok for awhile but then they will both go out. If I take out both bulbs and check them, I find that one of the bulbs is burned out but the other one is ok. How come they both go out? If I change to DCC, will it help?

Regards,

 John

When I wire one light bulb (the correct spelling, BTW) to a switch it works fine. When I wire two light bulbs in parallel to the same switch, neither seems to be as bright as before. Can anyone offer any help?

My imported brass locos are extremely upset because my recently purchased BLI locos come with factory installed light-bulbs. Just yesterday my PFM L-131 2-8-8-2 rear-ended my BLI ATSF 4-8-4 in a fit of rage. Who do I see about instigating a lawsuit?

5 argue about UP claiming rights to lightbulb manufacturers and how this will affect the lightbulb price
6 to start a UP lightbulb manufacturer boikot
3 to say how stupid it is to think about boikoting the UP lightbulb manufacturers
2 to explain why UP has the right to charge for UP lightbulbs
1 to explain this has nothing to do with lightbulbs
1 to say "hi, I'm new to the forum"
1 to say he has a UP lightbulb and it works well

Yes, all of this is very true....and there would be at least some posters who would:

- deplore the archaic crudeness of the light bulbs on John Allen's G & D;
- take issue with a light bulb wearing a sombrero on a Furlow layout;
-advise us all that Horizon light bulbs are now probably Chinese;
-suggest that the filament diameter in an Atlas light bulb does NOT scale out at 1/87 of actual size.... and is therefore just a toy.[:p][:0]

That would depend on what era the light bulb is from... [:p]

Then there would be the question of whether the replacement is prototypically correct...[:D]

And what weathering method would be used on the new lightbulb? [:o)]

Let's see

My evaluation team (2) has advised me that I have 8 burned out bulbs, This has been confirmed by the Quality Assurance group comprising of 4 + supervisor. An order for procurement must now bee generated and seent out to tender. This will be carried out by the logistics/procurement Dept comprising of 10. Once rec'd by shipping/recieving comprising of 5 individuals+ 2 Supervisors it will have to be forwarded through logistics,verified, Through the QA group then returned to Logistics and Procurement in order for them to arrange for a private contractor to carry out the acual work due in part that cost over runs have resulted in downsizing of certain work groups, namely the electricians.

However before a contractor can carry out said work he/she will have to be vetted by the HR dept comprising of 20 and evaluated/verified by the OSH advisors (3).

This period of darkness will last for about 2 months.

I believe this makes 54, but to be sure I'll have to hire an independent consultanting firm

Lets make it a even 60!

Have a good one

Fergie

Does anyone have a plan of a circuit diagram that'll fix it so the light bulb won't burn out again?
