Thanks, Jeff.  I just used Firefox instead of the yahoo server.  Nothing was working in the post message box, so when I clicked on the post message button.  It responded by saying that I needed to post a message.

When I changed from msn to yahoo on my email lots of things did not follow.

Thanks again,

Sue

No problem. I was about to send you a PM about it but I see you figured it out.

Jeff ... IS there a way to contact Sue to explain IE8 or whatever? Thanks to your explanation, I can use the Dell with XP and the MR site, but I still get error messages. The iMac is fine with te forum.

IE gives me error messages too, and only on this forum. I only use it if Firefox is down and that use won't be often as I now have Opera as a fallback.

Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood afternoon, bucket of Coke please n' thank-ya.

GARRY: A bit late, but congratulations on the third year of your second life!

SUE: Good to see you in here again *tips the hat*

Well (cool, refreshing, happy toads floating lazily in it), I think I've just about seen it all. After watching with much interest and admiration these past few years, the incredible N-sane scale efforts of DER JOHN... I think even he has been topped! I'm looking through the current issue of MR, and I find a guy doing gender re-assignment surgery...on N-SANE SCALE BOVINE!!! From "Bossy" to "Boss!" "Miss" to "Mr!!!"

THAT is udderly incredible...

Have a good day!

Sue: It looks like you're having problems with a compatibility issue. If you're using IE look to the right of your address bar. You should see an icon that looks like a torn piece of paper/ Click it and that should take care of the problem.

Howdy, Sue .. Where have you been? Did you see the NP trailer partly in view in my WPF? Is the layout progressing?

Grandkids are here from Cincinnati.  Hoaving fun.

Cheers, everybody.

Morning all, checking in from w**k as our home laptop has lost its ability to charge itself.  The power cord works perfectly fine, however; the port on the laptop is ka-poof.  Oh well, shipping it back to Toshiba to get the issue fixed, computer is under warranty.  \

MRR Front: have YET to get to the SD40-2, as I have YET to get the yard cut, then again, I've been at w**k all weekend, so I might not get to do that until my "weekend" Monday and Tuesday...  OH well, I'll get it fixed all up and go from there.

Things have been going well, still having a full life with the family and the dog.  I've been thinking about how to get all that I want out of my layout, which won't be too hard, although it'll be intresting keeping the perspective correct as the layout turns back and forth on itself (planning on at least a twin deck if not triple deck layout).

Jeff: Check, your PM's, and excellent haul sir, I like it!

Well, guess I'll jump off here and get back to what they pay me to do....

Mornin' people!

Zoe, I'll have the #2 special, over easy eggs, bacon, home fries, and a double order of the sour dough toast to go along with my dark roast coffee in a R&GV RR mug.  Thank you Ma'am!  BTW where did the lttle guys come from....  Curt brought them with him this morning.  All seven?  They sure like to whistle don't they!

I too see THAT Sue posted over in the WPF thread....  Hope she finds time to come over hear for a cup of coffee.  A Ladies presence always keeps everything polite in places like this you know!!! Big Smile

Speaking of lovely ladies....  Caught these two playing with the trains yesterday!  My sister the Reverend and the graduate student from the Ivory Coast, Awa.

It is always great to have my sister come for a visit and was even more fun to meet and talk with someone from another culture and land.  She is tri-lingual speaking her native French, one of the local African Dialects. and excellent English.  A sweet young lady and a devout Muslim.  I think she had a very good time.  My sister said she was wonderfully accepted into the mix of things at her reunion banquet last night.

Today I can get back to building the last of the furniture pieces for the new office area.

Catch you all later!

Good morning. It's 79° and mostly cloudy. The high will be 98° (feel like 111°), cloudy and there's a 30% chance of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon.

Locomotive maintenance continues. Today I'll be checking out the two Atlas locos (FP7, Trainmaster). The Trainmaster is quite new and is DCC Ready. It has an 8-pin socket with a dummy plug at the moment. It just needs the dummy plug pulled and a decoder plugged in. My examination will be to see if it needs anything else. The Atlas FP7 looks to be in very good condition despite it's age. I'll be checking it over thoroughly. I intend to convert it to DCC.

The second project today will be to get the ten Pennsylvania passenger cars packed up. Looks like they'll be going to a new home in Kentucky along with the Olympia 2-6-0.

I'll be packing up the RDC's as well. They'll be going to Florida.

 Morning Folks!

 Flo, coffee please.

Over cast today, 66 outside with a high today of 82. That I can live with.

Slept in the bedroom last night. As some of you know, I snore and for the last year I have been sleeping on the family room couch. Last night I sleep in our bed, and man it felt so good! Zzz This morning I was under the delusion that I did not snore last night because the wife did not keep waking me up all night! Whistling

Well, it was a delusion. Wife just got up and she is exhausted, my snoring keep her up most of the night. Guess it is back to the family room tonight. I cannot do it to her 2 nights in a row.

Short day at work 11:00 to 5:00, Old Kenny needs $4,000.00 today! Wish me luck!

Good Morning,

Curt the DDS visit was just a scraping and sharpening trip.  I have to go one more time this year back to the Periodontitis for a cleaning and inspection of the surgery I had earlier this year.

Curt & Tom the layouts look good.

Worked on the coal mine area yesterday; scratch built a back building to increase the capacity of the coal loader.  Everything works ok, but might need to get one of those old vibrating motors to help the coal move towards the hole or install a draw stick with a paddle.

Me and 2 guys from the train club are heading to Columbus this morning for the HO-Scale garage sale.

Good Evening or Morning depending on your time zone,

Ken that electrical bill does seem rather high. Your rates must be astronomical. We have had it hot here the last month and with the central A/C running a lot I have never had a bill over $120. My wife puts on the gas fire place in the basement to watch TV in the evening as it is cold down there in the summer and then sets the A/C at 68 for night so naturally it runs most of the night. We have all incadescent lights too. Why is our basement cold in summer? Well it is due to the A/C and as cold air does fall it goes right down the basement staircase. It was 64F in my workshop the other day.

Had a fun night tonight. We went out to the horse racing track with friends for dinner and to play the ponies. We only bet $2 each per race and actually made about $20. I'm not much of a gambler.

Gosh I hope this posts. I have tried and given up on several occasions.

Getting late so I"ll say goodnight.

Evening Gang: It rained here yesterday afternoon, last night , and this morning until about 10:30 am. We got alittle over 1 3/4 inches of nice soaking rain. The pond got was up 2 to 3 inches. Also the temps were in the 80s all day. The bad news is that the humidty is50% +. I was able to work out in the shop and finished repairing a pair of trucks for the 7 1/2 inch gauge. I also got a good start on the roof for the Kubota tractor. That will be nice to keep the sun of my punkin head.

Gosh it's late so I'd better head for bed.

Good Night All

Rob .. Glad you can post. It's been a while.

Ken ... Our power bill was high too. Hot summer outside.

I bet Paul has a high power bill for his house in hot Texas.

DId I see Sue posting in WPF? Hope she can stop in the diner.

Has anyone communicated with Vincent? If so, please tell him his posts in the diner are missed.

Thanks to those who remarked about my August 13th celebration. Actually, the event was in 2008 or 3 years ago. Anyhow, I'm thankful to have the extra years of life.

Family from Cincinnati arrived okay, and our boat ride was perfect.

If this posts, then I have Jeffrey to thank for it.

And while I'm here, a decaf coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please.

Last week my wife and I stopped at the only remaining hobby store which still carries MRRing stuff where she picked up a (HO) WS pack that included a little fork lift. The feed store on her layout needed some way to load hay bales onto a flatbed truck.

Hope everyone is doing well these days. Cheers! Cowboy Rob

Evening everyone.  Just got back from Saturday evening Mass, went out into the garage to fiddle around and everyhthing's gone WHACKO in the  yard--AGAIN!    Took a long, good look at it, and found out that the lead track angles in kind of strange and throws the turnouts into the engine terminal all goofy.  Wonderful Bang Head!    This means re-angling the lead track and re-doing the terminal leads, which means un-soldering everything--WHEW!

As Scarlett O'Hara said, "I'll worry about it, TOMORROW!"   I WILL GET THIS RIGHT (he said, gritting his teeth).

Oh, Curt--that 'wet' look is from a spray can of earth-colored latex paint I bought at Ace Hardware.  It goes on as a kinda/sorta semi-gloss finish, and when the light hits it right, it looks 'muddy'.  It will be covered up with ground cover (assuming I get the yard leads all straightened out, LOL!), I just used it so I didn't have to look at all of that pink Corning foam.   But I just might leave it uncovered on a couple of spots to indicate a recent October rain storm, come to think of it.

So, I'll do some planning tonight while I'm beating the pants off of Chad on our on-line Diamond Mine game.  That boy and his 350,000 one-time points--I do that WARMING UP, LOL!  Prepare to Die, Chadley, my boy!!Devil

Best to all, prayers to those in need.

Ken:  What is making the electricity bill so high there? That is quite ridiculous!!  http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_eek2.gif

Well, my wife lives here and does not work. She leaves lights on in ever room she leaves (yes I installed CPF ) and thinks if she the sets the thermostatic to 68, it will make the AC blow colder. It is like having a 6 year old in charge of the house 10 hours a day.

I lover her, but shes not just right when it comes to somethings. Like money, paying bills and spending. Honest to God, one time I told here "Sue, there is no money in the checking account". She told me "yes there is, I have checks in my checkbook"!
