Jarrell:

Been off the thread for a while--didn't realize we needed a gold mine.  Here's Sierra City with the Kentucky Mine in the center.

Now show me a river.

It's been about 4 or 5 hours at least since the Gold Mine request and it looks to be a thread killer.  So here we go

Arnold, the town drunk ran over Pete's garbage can. When Pete hollored at him, Arnold threw the can on the roof, and yelled, how's that for your *** garbage can? The story is inspired by, but not a model of real events from my home town.

Where art thou, Wolfgang?

A very small fire station indeed.  This is an ancient Plasticville model.  The back of the layout here runs into a 45-degree roofline, so I cut the side walls to match the angle and tucked the building under the angled ceiling line.

Show me some garbage cans.

Done

Show me your firestation.

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Show me something really expensive!Devil

A PFM United Shay from the first run. When my Wife got me this for Christmas back then it was the most expensive present we had ever given. We had no money, and my layout was just a dream, but she saved enough from piano teaching to get me the 3 truck Shay. Needless to say it is still my favorite train posession.

Well, since we are apologizing, and not that I think one is needed, I have to admit to not seeing Chad's earlier post with all the 'possibilities'.  I just saw pylings and thought it looked odd, then realized it was probably meant to be pilings, but thought I should....oh, whatever.....  As long as we are all on the same tressle, the pylings will get driven.

I mean pilings.....

Ooops,....I meant trestle.

"Pyle Driver"  ...Ah, wait, look, -just What IS THAT? a guy, with a wheeled pallet, with a dirt pile on it, Oh! -a Pile Driver! (I should learn syntax someday!) Haa ha haaa hah...  Once a Sci-Fi modeling buddy made "Toad Armor" when he heard the catagories of a model contest over the phone.. It was awesome!
Actually, I do like Red Power a lot, & I wish some company like Wiking would get a contract to make proper Case/IH/Steiger 535 Quad Trak's, I'd go crazy with those! Also, a few big Versatile's would be cool too.. In HO (1/87) scale, there are not that many off the shelf options.. I hope that my modified 'Wide Front' M shows my liking of IH power, -you can't buy that version in stores..     Sorry for the loss of focus lock, -Geez!

With all kidding, stupidness, & hyprocrisis aside, Show Us a PYLE Driver...

Jarrel .. .Again thanks for the thread, and thanks for looking out for it, too.

George: Your 1950's scene is fantastic, but I suspect there are very few MOW pile drivers are out there.

Now show me a flat car with a tractor load.  Props to those who get the colors "right", green and yellow...

Real tractors like fire engines are red, at least they were when I was a kid and still are in most childrens books. The John Deere thing falls in with the mid-life/old guy crisis. You MUST have a John Deere, a Corvette (or other muscle car), and a Harley to be a successful older feller today! Laugh

I have none of the three!

Ok guys, the rule is (just gotta have a rule or two!) the photography

1-has to be of yours or your clubs layout/equipment/structures, bridges etc. etc.  Posting photos of proto types is a no no.

2- Don't get too specific in your requests.  I wouldn't ask you for Southern GP-30 #2607 emerging from a tunnel portal.  It slows down the thread a bit too much.   Big Smile

3- Try to hold down comments on a photo as much as possible.  If a long conversation starts up going 4 or 5 posts we tend to forget what the last person requested.  This is probably the toughest one to do because we see so many things that we either want to comment on or request more information about.  I know I do and I've had to sit on my hands to keep from doing it!   A comment here and there certainly isn't going to hurt anything.  It's just the back and forth for a while that gets distracting.

Thanks!

Jarrell

There are a thousand things that can be requested that many modelers will probably have on their layouts and the idea is to be fairly generic so that the most people can jump in.

Thanks!

It's going great so far, I'm getting to see lots of scenes from your work I haven't seen before.
