Arnold, the town drunk ran over Pete's garbage can. When Pete hollored at him, Arnold threw the can on the roof, and yelled, how's that for your *** garbage can? The story is inspired by, but not a model of real events from my home town.
How about a gold mine?
ARTHILL How about a gold mine?

Where art thou, Wolfgang?
Well, it's not a model, but it certain explains where my gold goes:
Show me bridge track.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

It's been about 4 or 5 hours at least since the Gold Mine request and it looks to be a thread killer. So here we go
Show me a River
Jarrell:
Been off the thread for a while--didn't realize we needed a gold mine. Here's Sierra City with the Kentucky Mine in the center.
Now show me a river.
Tom

An express reefer transporting Alaskan king crabs. DJ.
Show me some birds.
Where´s the crab?
Don´t tell me it´s out for lunch!
Great picture though -
No one modeling ARR in this forum?
This could be Alaska,--- but it's not. You made me think, I don't have an Alaska scene and I spent three months there. Something to add someday
For birds, here are my pheasants. The loggers have rigged a shooting platform on the logging car and are having a shoot at the Hill farm, right from the track. Illegal, but they didn't seem to care. Also a pic of the birds flying. They are hard to keep in focus.
Show me a tall building
Crows ..... My scarecrow fails. I kitbashed it from a half of a Q-tip.
Show us a heavyweight observation car.
Edit: Tall building is the request.
GREAT PHOTOS everybody.
Jarrell ... SUPER THREAD !

Hey, in 1959, this was considered tall. Show me something your (scale) engineer hates to see in front of him.

It's hard to tell in this photo, but this is where the team track will be on my layout. If it doesn't yet qualify as a team track, feel free to skip me.
Show me something electric.

Show me a church.
A church.
Show us a heavyweight observation car, please.
I probably shouldn't post twice on the same page, but I will anyway!
Show me a brewery.
Darn. I missed the church, but here it is any way. I already showed you my brewery, but here is the loading dock.
We still need another brewery.
Ok one brewery coming up!
The old brewery on the pikemasters layout not too long before D day (Demolition day). where the brewery was now sits an engine facility.
ok, lets see some desert action.
Transition Era Santa Fe/C&S on the Joint Line.
My favorite parts of the desert. The Superstition mountains with a lot of compressions and then the cactus around the area.
Show me skid row.

I was going to ask for hoodoos a couple of days ago, and here they are!! I decided they were too rare. The only person I know that modeled them was the O Scale guy (don't remember his name) who often put dinosaurs with his trains; have not seen him around in a long time...
Oh well, back to skid row
George In Midcoast Maine, 'bout halfway up the Rockland branch
ARTHILL Show me skid row.
How about an abandoned gas station [left] in a very economically distressed neighborhood - can't get any more "skid row" that that, ya think?
Show me something mining-related.

Okay, how about one of my "Cousin Jack" miners pushing a dump-car along the elevated tailing track at the Champion Mine in South Yuba Canyon?

"Standing Falls" is located in the village of "Valley Heights" on my layout.
