Morning everyone. I'll take a decaf hot tea.
Blownout Cylinder: where were those pictures taken?
Operated my modest 4x8 steel mill for three hours yesderday. I finally got around to using a switch list, which was a lot of fun. That goes to show that even the smallest layout can deliver hours of enjoyment.
I'll sit in the RC for a while, see who else shows up.

Today I get to do the fasting blood work for the vampires..yay..then I will go and find something nice to chomp on.....grrrrr

For those of you who´d like to watch some spectacular winter steam action, here is a video I just found:
Winter & Steam
The narration in Japanese is a little distracting, but the video contains some awesome footage, making it worthwhile to watch. Don´t forget - this is narrow gauge.
Good Morning,
still fairly early in the day, but my old ticker had some hiccups last night that would not let me sleep properly. Maybe it is just the weather - it is hot and humid. There are some thunderboomers heading our way and we expect it to cool off considerably.
Chloe, coffee and a regular American breakfast for me, please.
Jeff - I hope you are improving. To say the least, I am worried...
Stan - I am amazed at what speed you are turning out those paintings. I admire your talent!
Will drop by later in the day - I need some more rest.
Have a good one!
Good evening.
Chris ..... Well, THAT is THAT.
Jeff ... I hope you can walk soon and the pain can go away. Prayers for you.
Stan ... I like your nearly complete painting of the NYC J1. I'm glad you are in the diner. It's a treat seeing the paintings in progress. ... BTW, Burlington has a very nice looking 4-6-4. ...
Here is my NYC 4-6-4 .... It is my oldest HO model. I've owned it since my Dad brought it to me from Japan 55 years ago. It is Tenshodo as are the F9's which are almost as old. The Hudson has a long story, but I did rebuild it a few years ago.

Flo, I take some of the Potato Salad I read about and a Beer.
What Did I Do At Work Today You Ask! I fixed Shaun's Guitar, had nothing better to do anyway. I am out of books to read. It still needs it neck straighten but it now make sound. When it brought it in, it did nothing. Pots where dirty, switch and amp jack where all so nasty. Sprayed it down with contact cleaner and re solder a few points that looked bad.
Called Shaun on the speaker phone and asked "Do you know what this is?" Played a few cords and he said "No, what is it?". "It's your guitar" was the answer.
More Free Food Today! Steve our delivery driver called and asked if I want anything from Taco Bell before he got to my store. Told him I was broke, wife got my last $7.00. He went ahead and bought me two soft shell taco's! Pretty darn nice of him. I will have to find someway to repay him.
Are they trying to get me to quite? Was sent the proof of this weekend add. In bold letter's "GET A EXTRA $100.00 OFF, GOOD ONLY AT OUR FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS STORE". Like I said before, the Fairview store is only 6.5 miles from my store! Why don't they just take me behind my store and shoot me and get it over with!
Jeffery Am sorry to hear about your foot. Is it the sitting in the Van that cause the problem, or working the peddles?
Lee how much do you charge for the Railroad Sign? Be happy to grant you rail rights on the C& K Railroad main lines!

tcwright973 I saw something today that was new to me. My wife wanted to go to the Outlets in Grove City this morning for a little shopping, and while on I79 heading north out of Pittsburgh I began to overtake an odd looking truck. On getting closer, I discovered there was nothing odd about the truck at all. It was a flatbed hauling what looked to be an SW7 or SW9 body. It looked in great shape and had a fresh coat of paint. Royal blue body with white railings and grab irons. No lettering. It would be really ijnteresting to know where it was coming from and where it was headed. Naturally, my camera was sitting on the dining room table. I'll never learn.

Good evening Gents!
I had a chance to get the Hudson painting nearly finished, Central fans may wonder why I went with a J1 instead of the super hudson, but I wanted that late 1920's look with the Pullman green consist. Every other NYC painting I ever did featured the super hudson with 30's coaches. I needed to attempt something else. Anyway here's a look:
Hopefully I'll get a chance to run the layout tonight, The I1 decapod wants to stretch her legs!
Just a Burger, fries and a dew, Flo.
Good evening everyone!

Train Master I went to the spillway today and had some fun. That is until I met this one girl and introduced myself. The next thing I know I get decked by her mother! I did not know Mack trucks came in bikinis.

LEE: After seeing what Uncle Pete did to the 1:1 scale CNW fleet...I'm numb to paint-overs, "patches," etc. Plus, I would never raise a ruckus about what you do to your own locomotives. I do recall some guy from elsewhere in the forums...something-Atmo, I think, or Lord-something. Lord Atmo maybe?. He would about come unglued when he'd see a "patched" CNW loco. I think he took the Borg assimilation a little too personally...
JERRY: A pair of 9-volts sounds right. Hey, it's only been three years since I've had to w**k on those chairs... I always wondered if they w**ked "as advertised" with THAT for a power supply. Apparently, they don't.
GARRY: Thanks for the input. I kinda thought THAT was how THAT would w**k out (the "proper gray" paint). I think my generic, home-brew "hopper gray" will w**k just fine, after a little blending and modification. The guy built his to look like the large herald plates had been removed. The author states THAT after the BN creation/merger, people would actually steal these steel plates off of the hoppers. THAT would be an awfully neat trick, I think!
Have a good rest of the day folks!
Chris

Afternoon folks1
Flo just a tall glass of iced tea, unsweetened for me right now.
The Cub Scout Pack had a great time at the Museums today. I think the Adults enjoyed it as much as the boys. We had 3 Cub Scouts, 1 Boy Scout, and a young lady who is a Venturer.... Took a track car down the hill to the R&GV RR Museum from the NYMT (New York Museum of Transportation). I got home from THAT about 2 PM and checked in here to see what was going on. I also had to get to w*rk on the MLK Treasurers report I have to give tonight at the picnic. Got going on THAT and the thunderboomers showed up, so for an hour the computer was shut down while the sky fell on Geneva.... (Lots of wind and heavy rain with a good light show as well). After THAt passed, I finished the treasurers report. Kept coming up a few cents different from what the bank account says we have.... Finally found it... had 11¢ more interest in the CD THAT just reached Maturity..... Figured the 11¢ in all the places it needed to be and.... WHALLAH! The accounts come out right! Whew!
Ulrich, my Potato Salad is my Grandmother Cooley's recipe. Actually English or Irish, not German. Most people love it, and it is always popular when I make it. The secret... (shhhh...) is to use Miracle Whip Salad Dressing not Mayonnaise. My Grandmother used to make her own salad dressing (basically home made Miracle Whip) for it. Somewhere around here I have the recipe for THAT. Anyway the Potato Salad is all made and ready to go.
Barry sized Berries??? Hmmmm.
Catch you all later!

We'll get there sooner or later!
Afternoon all,
Well the moving did not go as well as expected. The Queen sized sleeper sofa will not go through the doorway where we wanted it so it is now sitting in the living room. It came from the loft when our house guests first showed up, but with the layout it won't go back there. It is now up to MOH to decide where it will end up. Did some general cleaning to the house and hung some pictures and framed items (PRR PL signals, PRR Whistle signals and some misc. things) in the train room...yes I will say that again...the train room.
My sons car broke down on the way to work today so it has been towed to a repair shop and when MOH gets off work I will meet her at my sons work so she can leave her car for him so we don't have to pick him up at midnight tonight, since we both work tomorrow.
Everybody have a good evening.

Hello everybody...
Chris ... I saw THAT paragraph you wrote about THAT grain car lettered for THAT Burlington. I think they used the standard covered hopper gray. Glancing at my Burlington color guide book, it was a light shade. The older cars tended to be more faded or lighter in color. If it is too dark gray it will not look right. You might find a rattle can color at the hobby shop that is just right. Maybe, one of the military grays would look right. My model railroad is in the era when box cars were still used to haul grain. I do, however, have a Burlington Airslide hopper by Con Cor, and it's color looks right. .... As for the soap box, I think Germany is expected by other Europeans to carry their loads for them. Remarkably, too many US politicians think we should emulate Europeans. "nuf said.
Todd ... Thanks for the Barry-sized berries. They certainly are berry good.
Lee .... CNW green and yellow might look just right on your LSW layout. I looked at Factory Direct Train after reading your post. They did not include any Burlington SD's in their sale. Just as well. I don't need to be tempted.
Jeff ... I'm sorry your foot is so bad.
JR ... Glad your Ohio trip went well. Perhaps you can tell more if you have time.
Barry .... I like the old photo with trolley cars.
I completed my Stewart Phase IV F3 A-unit, and now have an ABA set of Phase IV F3's on the layout. There is another B unit to go with these on the workbench.
Meanwhile, my F9-AM, number 700D has a decoder with the light function no longer working, and I need to change decoders for it. 700D was the lead unit in my photo that appeared in Trackside Photos a few months ago.
All six of my SD7's and SD9's are doing well, and I'm pleased with the details I aded over recent weeks.
Happy Model Railroading.
Jerry: Nice to see you pop in!!
Well, Todd, my jr to sr prom mate introduced me to her father ...who turned out to be an ex-military officer up here...my luck held out and he and I got along really well...even though I had a rather noisy car at the time..at least he knew when she was coming home...
Good Morning All,
Mid Ohio went well though I didn't see Brakie in Mansfield when we went to Rockys' Pub..... Back for a few days before we leave for Quebec next Weds. Got a couple of hours in last night on the layout moving track bed just to see how it looked. Lots to unload and get after in the shop so back to it
Good to see Jerry in and I hope the rest of you are doing well. CUL, J.R.
Good Morning All...Its sunny and in the mid 70's here...I'll have a deit coke with lots of Ice please...Thank you...Sallie and I got out for about an hour for a nice power chair ride this morning..Looks like it might be another day of "arm chairing" on the I&S today...
Chris...My lift chai does have a battery back up but it has never worked..It takes 2 9 volts and just won't power chair..I hope the new chair will have a back up that works..I have been stuck in chair over 4 hours acouple of times...
You all have a good one...Jerry
Morning All,
Hope everyone is well. Although I am supposed to be at w**k today a co-worker is paying me back for a previous time trade so I am off work. Tomorrow in the morning I have a in service Protocol class for changes that go in effect 1 Jul.
My son and I need to move the furniture and misc. stuff into the guest bedroom today before he goes to work at 1430. I am also going to have him help me slide out the layout from the wall now that I have room so I can walk around it all the time.
I received the PRR dwarf signal from M.B. klein last night. It is a great size for HO and looks great. I have no idea why the manufacturer says it is O scale. So at some point after some OT I need to order 4 more.
Ulrich- Someone said that you will never know where a job will lead you. Back in 1996 MOH had just moved here after the sale of our previous house (out of state) and was doing part time jobs for a job service. They offered her a job at Rollins College (very high rated regional college) in business services. It didn't pay real well but we needed the money. Well they liked her, hired her full time as 2nd in charge for that division. Because of this my daughter received a top notch bachelors degree in primary education for free (would of cost $100K at this school) and MOH received a Masters in HR. The point is you just never know. I am not preaching to you and I really hope everything works out for you.
Jeff- I hope your ankle improves for you soon.
Well I will talk to all of you latter.
(walks in door and sets two heaping five gallon buckets down in the corner. One filled with Gooseberries, the other with Black Raspberries. ) Good Morning!! Help yourself! Another strange, yet good, thing about this place. Other than I still don't see how we fit all this stuff in this car, is you can bring in a five gallon bucket of cane berries and not have the bottom half crushed into juice by the top half. Look, (picks up bucket and slams on floor a couple times, digs around deep and pulls out a handfull of perfectly formed berries with no crushed ones.) see? Wierd. Bought this time next month I should have Blackberries unless Brenda gets greedy. She can get that way over Blackberries. Coffee and a cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato, and an order of onion rings please. Thanks . Sunny, with a high near 81. Peers to be gettin back to normal weatherwise. I hope so.

After the big rain of 2” in less than two hours, Mom’s house was dry. Sorta. Were the water came in the window wells lately would have had water running in like Niagra Falls. But was dry as a popcorn f**t, my drainage worked . However, at the opposite end of the basement there was water. The sump pump didn’t pump and over flowed. I will replace it tomorrow. If it isn’t one thing it’s another.
YGW- Don’t you just love inspectors? Kinda makes you want a law that if one inspector tells you one way he has to put it in writing and sign. So when another comes back and tells, or proves, another way, then they have to pay for any changes made due to the other inspectors call. Or which ever was wrong. Sure would take away from those inspectors that make hip shot calls based on what they think instead of know.
Today is grocery put away day at the Restaurant, mow the yard (mine and maybe part of Mom‘s. Depends.) and then w**k tonight, plus something else that just doesn‘t come to mind right at this moment. Doesn’t look like too much opportunity for Choo Choo’s.
Speaking of meeting the Dad, well someone did Flo! Anyway, when I went to pick up my High School Crush for Junior Prom at her house, her Dad met me at the door wearing his Karate outfit (ghee???) complete with Black Belt. (chuckle) I must have been ok, we made all the way through Senior Prom too. (leans back in booth ) I haven’t thought of her in years.
Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

Up late this morning and need to leave early this morning so not much time.
Train Front Got the LED installed in the F7 A and it is bright. Only thing I don't like is the light is not directional, light fans out a lot. Bought the LED from Radio Shack and two of them where only $1.99.
See you all later.
Jeff is not feeling well this morning so he has asked me to make his morning post for him. I do not have the site he gets his weather data from but I will do the best I can.
It is currently 75F and it is partly cloudy. The high will be 95 with a 5 mph south wind.
He got his u25b back together yesterday and it looks good. He emailed me a link to to a photo he wanted posted.
As for Jeff's condition. He is not in any bad trouble. His ankle looks like a softball and he cannot put put his weight on it much so it is hard for him to get around.
As for myself I will spending some time at the spillway today. Walking trails, doing some swimming, chasing girls.
