Strong coffee in a SUNNY & SOUTHERN mug, please.
***Ulrich, I sure like that loco you have. Bet it is a super smooth runner. What kind of cars will you be looking to add to it down the road? Sorry about your other news.
My Berkshire is a piece of junk! Looks great, doesn't run and costs too much to have repaired. (How's that, Garry? And it's all true.)
More bushhogging ahead for this evening. Weeds are out of control now in the pastures and at this point the goats aren't even making any visible progress.
Have a good day y'all.
Rob
Garry - excellent idea! Unfortunately, most of our bills are on automatic debiting, so that won´t help much to improve our bank account.
We just had a power outage - right in the midst of my favorite TV program - dang!
Alison is not improving at all. The oxygen level in her blood is going down to a degree, where the doctors fear for brain damage. I am glad she is not noticing this anymore.
A sad time!
Good afternoon, Diners.
Lee ... sorry to hear about your surgery. Hope you recover quickly.
Galaxy ... Happy late b'day to your OH.
Ulrich ... The desktop layout looks nice. It may possibly serve a purpose. If you can get a side dump gondola, you can transport papers on the desk. In particular, place the unpaid bills in the side dump car, and run them to the edge of the desk where they can be dumped into the trash can..... On a more serious matter, prayers continue for Allison.
Has anyone seen Duke in the diner? Say something about berkshires to rile him up.
Cheers

Ray - I watched the video again. It is said that rail transport would have been to costly, as they would need to have a separate set of trucks. The wheel flanges differ very much - Europe uses smaller flanges than North America. In our little world it is just the other way around.
I remember they had some type of auxiliary trucks built, when they shipped the first batch of ALP 46´s back in 2006. No idea, why they did not use them this time.
Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have a bowl of hot oatmeal w/brown sugar and a cup of dark roast coffee to start the day. I'll be in the back by the stove getting warm.
Dark, gloomy, damp, and cool here in the Finger Lakes this morning. Currently 38°F with a high today around 45°. May be a good day to stay down cellar...... Unfortunately much of what I want to do next is waiting on the arrival of supplies.
Ulrich, nice work on the modules! Good to see you running trains. In the video, it was mentioned why the locos bound for the US couldn't be moved by rail. Forgot what they said. Very sad to hear about your friend.. I am glad her family has been able to gather to be with her at this time. My prayers for all of you!
A belated Happy Birthday to all the Moms and Other Halves around here who have been celebrating!

Good Afternoon Folks,
Zoe, make that a mug of coffee and a slice of that apple& cinnamon pie, please.
I managed to finish laying track on all corner modules and have now the thrilling experience of letting my steamer circle the loop. A good start back into the hobby.
Here are some pics:
I am surprised that all fits together nicely

Morning All,
Feeling just slightly better today. Thank Goodness no GI issues. At w**k today. I am doing a time trade so it was come in or hose over the other person.
Ken- Do you run N-scale? The M1 looks like my BLI. I believe they produced the M1 in the "a" version in N scale and the "b" version in HO scale.
Galaxy - Hope your wife had a great birthday.
Ulrich- I am sure your friend really appreciates you helping her even if she hasn't said anything. Nobody should be alone at the end.
Everyone have a great day.

Good morning. It's 73° and mostly cloudy. The high will be 88° and partly cloudy with south winds 10 to 20 mph.Yesterday was a busy day. First thing was to get my doctor appointment out of the way then go to the pharmacy to get refills on eight of my prescriptions. Next was to go with my father to get my mother moved from the hospital back to the nursing home. That was finally accomplished about 2 pm. Then we came back home and got some light work done around my parents home. At 4:45 we left to pick my mother up from the nursing home to take her to the Mexican restaurant downtown for her birthday dinner. The family made a good showing. The only members not there were my younger sister (lives in Pennsylvania) and my oldest niece and her son (live in Colorado) but they phoned in their happy birthday comments. The highlight came when the restaurant manager popped a sombrero onto my mothers head and a good part of the staff sang happy birthday in Spanish and English. Afterward we took her back to the nursing home. By the time I got back home it was almost 8:15 and I was almost ready to just fall apart where I was standing.

Prime rib for My Other Half's Birthday last night was delicious as we usually expect at Christie's Grill! A "Christie's Cut" lasts 2 or 3 meals for us. MOH says thanks for the B-day greetings!
The agent is setting up some appointments to look at some houses. WE think we know which one we want, Q is whether they are willing to come down to our price point.
Not much else but a lazy day today. Recover from a full meal {with leftovers} and a heavy super quadruple chocolate fudge cake!!!
I willhave "prime rib and eggs" for breakfast! HHHMMMM!

After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.
Ulrich, sorry to hear Allison’s condition has not improved.
Rob, if it doesn’t stop raining long enough for me to cut my grass I may need to borrow that bush hog!
Happy Birthday to Mrs. Galaxy
Jim we shall see, I got a call from Microcenter, and they said they were having trouble processing my CC. I told them “They” had a problem since it’s their store card. If they can’t fix their issues soon I’ll just go to Wal-Mart, I see they are selling lens now.
I had surgery done to my upper left jaw yesterday morning. They provided me with some really good drugs to help with the pain and swelling, needless to say my sleep cycle is all messed up. They also installed a cast around the affected teeth to support the gums, which was something new to me. I have to wear this silly putty cast thing that dried hard for 2 weeks.
I volunteered to build a 4x8 layout for the neighbor’s grandson. We are going to meet Wednesday to look over the buildings he has and pick out one of John Armstrong’s layouts to build.

Good Morning Gang,
the forum would not allow me enter during the night. I was up at about 2 am our time and wanted to join in the chat, but after 10 minutes of seeing the message "waiting for server to respond", I just gave up. Now, with only 31 members being on line, it is smooth and slick, just like it should be.
It´ll be a sunny and warm day here in northern Germany. The air is heated up by the temper of all those folks waiting for their train to commute to work. Well, they will have to wait for quite some time, as the engineers are on strike, demanding equal pay. I am not going to comment on this, but I can understand that the salary one receives has nothing to do with the decal pasted on the loco´s side.
Still no favorable news on Alison´s development. Her life is being sustained by a battery of different machines, and from what her boyfriend told us last night, the docs will decide today, whether to "pull the plug" , should not there be a sign of improvement. Her Mom has arrived late yesterday evening, so her brother and her Mom will be with her on that journey. Petra and I feel very sad and helpless.
I laid track on two of the 4 corner modules. I used glue and nails to secure them. I will try to finish the last 2 corner modules today, so my oval of track is complete. This is about as far as I can go now. I have ordered some N scale ballast and as soon as it has arrived, I will paint the track and ballast it properly. I don´t like the plastic look and hope that it will improve quite a bit after weathering and ballasting.
Ray - I watched the video - this form of transport is most unusual. Normally, they have a set of trucks put under the loco, which then get pulled by a road switcher type Diesel loco to Hamburg. Takes a lot less time and effort. Some time back, I have seen the first batch of ALP46 locos being brought to Hamburg this way.
Flo, just a coffee for me, please.
Have a good one!
Hello Ladies and Germ's.
Flo, been a rough day, Beer please.
Todd Don't worry I know my spelling sucks. I have posted this before but on the a Mopar site there was a running gag about one of the guys selling "Cuda Ken Decoder Rings"!
Curt Thank you on the complement on the tress and the PRR engine. Actually it is a BLI M1a, but only way I know that is because that what the box says it is. Was my favorite engine till I got the Y6 b. All so has been a pain in the caboose. It cracked the tower gear with in 2 days of getting it. BLI sent me the gear for free (did not want to wait 6 weeks) and it was the first steam engine I took apart. Well that was just the beginning of the problems. I can now field strip like my M-16 when I was in the Army.
Spring Projects Starting to plan some needed repairs around the house. First one will be building a new gate for the backyard and start fixing the fence. I will all so see if I can get the in ground pool filter motor to run. It has not been ran for 5 to 6 years, this year I hope to get the pool open. If I can get the filter on line then I may go for it. But, boy it is going to be a mess and Stink To High Heaven! 5 years of rotten leaves being pumped into the back yard!
See you all Tuesday.

Good Evening
Well i see the "Night Crawler" was here again.....it only took me abut 3 minutes to load the page and another 2 minutes to get the reply thing to come up...
Anyhow, it was a fascinating day up here..we ended up getting another 3" of the white stuff before it stopped..most, but not all, of it is gone now
Galaxy's OH!!!
Well, Chloe, I'll have a coffee for now..I'll be at the corner booth for a bit...
G- Good luck on the house shopping and give a big to the OH.
Ken- Just making sure you know I am no way, no how making fun of the spelling issue. No sir not me. That would be like the pot calling the kettle black. And grammer errors.... if I correct anyone on grammar errors, they have th ok to just reach over the table and slap me. I wouldn't know a grammar error from a graham cracker. Normally I just ignore spelling errors or assume the spell check is like mine, if the program thinks it's the word you intended, it corrects it and moves on without a squiggly line and no squiggly lines mean everything is peachy. So when it picks a wrong word, some times it takes a fresh eye to pick it out. Even if proof read. But sometimes, you have to admit....... That one just really struck me as funny. Somehow I didn't think you were describing how you sat in a lawn chair facing the breeze that afternoon sipping your .
All I got done today was lay a piece of siding and now I am about to go back down and lay another. Maybe do a bit of wo*k in the tourist trap town soon to be named.....?

Flo, I'll have a BBQ Chicken Special tonight with a cup of decaf to go along with it.
The treasurer of mu NMRA Division sent this along to me. It seems NJ Transit is getting some new locos. Dual powered and can be run on diesel and overhead electric power. Very cool Video about how the first one was moved from the factory to hamburg for shipment to America... Very cool Video! Even if you don't like modern locos, the "Lorry" used to move this 87 tonne locomotive is so large that the total wieght is around 200 tons....
been a good day sharing train stuff and printing the Division Newsletter for the few that do not have email. had to run to Canandaigua to turn on the outside water for my sister... Turns out the guy doing some landscaping showed up a week early and did everything today. My sister wasn't sure whether to be elated, or ticked off as she is flying to South Carolina tomorrow morning... Titanic Airlines I think.... Guess who gets to drive to her house and feed the cats for the next week......???
OK, I'm heading down to the layout to finish a few odds and ends.
Coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please.
Got some diesel fuel for the tractor today, so I can hack away this evening some more with the bushhog.
Healing thoughts to those in need.
Cheers! Rob
Going to go look at some houses this week. Will meet with our buyer's agent and go look at a few we like that are about our price range, or some over our price range that might just be willing to come down fi they need to get off the market. It's a buyers market, but low inventory. I see one house we were considering went under contract. That's ok as it was not really in a place we were considering and it had been on the mkt for awhile. It may be a buyers mkt but makes you wonder what was wrong withthe house if didn't sell sooner than later. We are not looking to get into bidding wars. If a deal falls through and we want the house, then we will gladly step in to "redeem" it though.
Of course we WILL be keeping an eye out for 2 perfect MRRing spaces...one for my HO and one for MOH's N scale.
Ah well, will let you know what happens.
Going out for PRIME RIB tonight for My Other Half's Birthday! CAn't wait. WE usually go out aobut 4:30 so we are in well after lunch crowd and before dinner crowd really takes off. We love Christie's Grill for prime rib. Beats Texas Steak House any day and is far less noisy that TSH anyday. Oh, Darn, that means I have to get dressed up! Its a bit cool for wearing comfy Hawaiian shirts, though. oh well it will be worth it.
well, TTYALLL8R
Flo, a BLT, with actual bacon, and iced tea please :)
I just ordered what I hope will be a pair of decent running shoes, Onitsuka Tiger 81s thanks to having a coupon and some extra money from selling an old Limited Editions Southern Railway dorm-baggage car kit. As the weather is getting warmer, I'd like to be outside and get my body in better shape.
My passenger cars came in and I am looking forward to my next round of ordering when I get proper sides and paint for them! My dream is to have everything ready to paint by the time summer rolls around so I can work outside.
I love Ken's scenes, and I'll never argue with a fine lady like the Pennsylvania M1b (love the one at Strasburg) and Jeff's baggage car is not to be missed.
Curt, hope you speedily recover from that cold, I hate colds.
Curt Webb Jeff- That is a great worn out looking baggage car. Do you have any specific plans for it?
Jeff- That is a great worn out looking baggage car. Do you have any specific plans for it?
Hi all,
Home sick today with start of bad cold. Spent most of yesterday in bed. Typical cold, sore throat, runny nose, and tired. Had a slight fever yesterday but not today so far. Nothing new to report on the modeling scene.
Ken- Those are great looking trees and who can't appreciate a Pennsy M1b in the scene?
Ulrich- That is a great start for your modules.
Well everyone take care. I think I am going to lay down for a nap.
Morning folks.
Flo, Diet Dew to go.
Todd Guess spell check cannot fix intake.
Gary Glad you like the pictures. If I am still in the house in the next 3 months I plan on start building the frame for the coming layout. So far I have saved up just a little under $600.00 for the project.
Missing spelling again, Cuda Ken
Good Morning!! Coffee please. Nothing to eat thank you. I’m gonna run up to the neeew Subway uptown here in a bit and see if the breakfast sandwich of the month is worth anything. So far…I’m not overly impressed with Subway. But, I never have been. The only thing I think they’ve done well, other than make a fortune by serving bread and lettuce (anyone can lose weight by eating lettuce), is stop cutting the bread into that silly wedge lid type thing they had going on years ago. Garry- Oh yah, Ryan does live in Raleigh doesn’t he. Why was I thinking South C? Maybe sawyer cornfused me as he lives in S.C. No matter, I did see where Robby posted a pic in WPF Saturday early afternoon. Jim- Thanks. Checked it out and decided hm…it’s ended. Seriously though thanks. It was ended by the time I got to it, but with shipping and all they went for about $30. I probably would have only gone total of $20 on the pair anyway if at all. See? To me, E-bay equals either can’t find elsewhere…or cheap. Today is my last day off for oh, gosh, what seems like to be an entire day. My next day off isn’t until Wednesday. Today, I think I’ll lay the siding for the future train station in Marshallton. See how that works. It’ll at least give me a place to pull a train out of the way anyway. See what else I can get into.

Ken - I have to give you credit.. You have the best spellcheck around. Mine always picks the dull words when it decides what I want to spell. Yours is at least good for a chuckle sometimes…”genital breeze” ROFLMAO!!! First thing in the morning too! LOVE IT!!
Time to get going. My sides hurt.
Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!
Right now we are looking at some cloudy skies with a few wisps of blue sky showing through..supposed to get some more s**wflurries though later on as we are only going to get to 35F for a high today...
Had a fun night last night...we ended up having our room double booked for some committee meeting so we had to take our seminar thingee and put it into someone else's room..and they went off looking for a room themselves
So, after that 'incident'......along comes someone else who needed the room...did we move? No. We said ...go to the ------------------ ------------ who mucked up the reservations and get them to give you a room!! We must have persuaded them pretty well...or was because of something else...?
So, today is hopefully not going to be as fraught with running around as all that..as I still have to do another couple of seminars yet...
Flo, I'll have a coffee and a breakfast bagel please...I'll be at the RC for a bit..
Good Day Folks!
Cup of coffee please.
Morning all, {early}
Didn't sleep well last night.
got a headache starting with the massive changes in weather thins weekend/week. More like a normal spring for us. Last year April 1 we had the a/c running and kept it running at least part of the day. but this year teh furnace at nihgt and no a/c yet, though sometimes it gets up to 75* in here. I sweat at anything over 70, so I just suffer.
Hope the headache doesn't turn out to be another migraine.
Got some {most} of my chores done yesterday. only another wash load and vaccuuming to do.
But I tell you between being on my feet for 2.5 hours on Sat at the antiques/train show and chores yesterday my back was screaming insults at me and making me very uncomfortable, I have come to the conclusion that the Center for PAin Relief {CPR} actually DOES do some good. They may not be able to relieve 100% of the pain, but now far and away from the injections, I can tell the injections solved at least half the pain problems!!! SO maybe I beg to go back and get teh injections of the radio frequency thingy done,. But I have to wait till I see the neurosurgeon again to tell me again he can;t do surgery on me YET as I am not "bad enough". THen I can see the Dr at the CPR.
WEll, I think I go back to bed, been up since 5 am. and was up at 1-2:30 too. so I deserve more rest.
Today is My Other HAlf's BIRTHDAY!!! SO I don;t have to cook tonight we are having Prime rib at Christie's Grill tonihgt!! MMM!
Oh, and have a GREAT day y'all!
