Good Morning!! Coffee and scrambled eggs, fried potatoes and salsa please, thanks.

Lee beat me to the punch with Rob. Laugh

Rob- I’ve been around my share of cattle in my life but I’ll admit, I don’t think I would have had the what the cats lost, (unless they are/were female) to do exactly what you did.

Jim- Glad to see you back. Real glad it wasn’t a health issue that kept you away. Sounds like you have a few things to keep you busy in the MMR department AND the lady department.

Jeff- Now you know you could get a monstrous infection in that foot. GET TO THE DOCTOR!!! I’m sorry to here your Mothers diagnosis. It’s a very hard disease for the family to deal with. Brenda’s Grandmother had it.

Barry- The family of the little girl is in my prayers. SIXTY FIVE by FORTY FIVE!!! Surprise My GOSH!! That’s not a basement. That’s a warehouse!

Garry- Good luck and you too are in my prayers. I also pray for your MI Sisters surgery to go well. At least you have two Sisters that are willing to help. I didn’t even have one. Willing that is. I do have a Sister.Grumpy

Ken- I recall the pictures early on when you had the green grass looking carpet stuff popular with the slot cars. You have come a long way and each project, like all of us, just kept getting better and better. I wish you would find out the sure for certain outcome of the house. But I know the wheels turn slow.

Speeeeaking of crooks- Brenda talked to another Attorney yesterday other than the States Attorniey's Office. No, she can't represent. See problem is, there are no Attorneys around that defend small claims. But this lady who does bankruptcy and some financial stuff, did ask Brenda to tell her what is going on and she could maybe give her advice and tell her what she needs to do. Brenda did and the Attorney did too. Very nice of her. First Question after Brenda explained what was going on; “You have all this in writing including your personal bank stuff?” “Yes.” The came her first statement; “ I don’t know why they are even taking you to court, they’ll lose. Now if it were a phone conversation he said she said thing, that would be different and I'd understand why they'd try.” She then went on to explain what she has to do and say in her statement to the Judge and what to send and not send, what to take, how to talk and how to address the Judge and the other Attorney. That was nice as we’ve never had to defend ourselves in court before. She said her case, if as was presented, is pretty cut and dried.

J.R.- I bet it feels good to finally have at least some bench work up. It’s a start!

It’s that time of year when the sinuses swell shut at night and break open in the morning thereby throwing me into sneezing fits and nose blowing marathons. Next step, the nasal secretions will begin flowing into my bronchial tubes and throat for lack of any other direction to take and I’ll begin coughing and hacking all night long until I get no sleep to speak of and after a week I’ll be sore in the chest, throat, and lungs. Stomach muscless will hurt, I'll be tired, cranky and just plain miserable. Still, as Ken said, I’m doing pretty darn good.

Oh! Chicken taco salad. That sounds pretty good. May have to look for one of those for lunch.

Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

Morning Folks, boy it feels good to be off today.

Flo, scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon and a glass of milk.

Work Front While I am pretty happy with the company, it is still a cluster *&^% when it come to organization. Cannot believe what the computer says when it comes to inventory, no follow up on special orders unless I do it. So I am now bring home paper work so I can follow up on my day off.

Drivers License expires on Feb 24th so I need to get that take care of. Again there a hint that it expires on the 24th. Todd, you live in IL so you should get the hint. Cake

Have to run Sue to the dentist today as well. Her appointment is 3:30 PM, just great. Much rather had it for around 10:00 AM.

 See you all later today.

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Sunny but cooler here in The Smokey Mountains today, wish I did not have so much to do around the house today, looks like a good day to go shoot some more train pic,s.

lets see, Monday the Wife said I could go and spend $35.00 on what I was lacking for the layout, so I was able to pick up enough 2"x2",s for all the legs and all the hardware (wing nuts, bolts and washers) to bolt everything together. Yesterday I cut all the legs and all the pieces for the frame work of the last two remaining modules, will wait until I get the plywood before I frame them out. I made a couple of concessions on the size of things and now have a foot print of 8' X 10' with an open center of 3 1/2' X 5 1/2', now I have to draw up some new track plans and see if I can get that double looping mainline that I want and still fit in 30" radius curves. I will also have to increase my grade some and hopefully it wont look to bad.

Ken; I loved the photo,s and yes I will be putting down foam, not much in the way of construction going on around here due to the economy, and this is also where they filmed "Deliverance" so it is not a good idea to just drive up some dirt road to a construction site. LOL.

Rob; Good luck with the fencing, you already know of my experience with bobwire, so I wont be offering any advice. Just be careful and dont over do it, your Wife needs you well so you you can finish up the scenery on that layout of hers.

Ulrich; Still praying for your Mom, and hope to hear some good news from you soon.

Ken; Same goes with your Mom, and for your health as well. My Wife is of Creek and Cherokee descent, we were adopted by the Kiowas and traveled the PowWow circuit for years, all my kids and the Wife dance and she sings with Billy Evans Horse drum. Aho.

Jim; I have been on the CPAP machine for going on two years now and will not sleep without it, You will notice how much better you feel after the first night. Before the CPAP we could not go out to the movies or spend an evening in front of the tv without me falling asleep in the first ten minutes, and I just feel so much better now that I am getting a good nights sleep.

Robby; Dont wait to long before finishing up with school, my wife just turned 45 and still has about a year and a half to go on her MFA.

Once again I have been on here longer than I had planned, but I wanted to get those messages out  to everyone. Today is going to be a clean up day in the studio and I saw a box of "Minight Black" sanded tile grout up there yesterday and I want to put together some forms and see how this would look for roads and asphalt parking lots, if it works I will post some photo,s tonight.

Already got it checked out. They did the exact same thing I did. Bound it up and told me ti use the boot as a brace. The metal rods in it will keep it from moving. On my mother's condition, they were wrong. Her problem was too much ammonia in the blood. They put her on meds for that and she cleared up.

Good Morning All!

Not much to report from the land of snow covered Buckeyes on this cold Wednesday morn other then my detail parts are in and I hope to go Saturday and pick 'em up..Modeling wise I plucked all the nose grabs from my OC GP7 and will replace them with metal grabs.I just didn't care for their looks.Thankfully none of them broke and fowled the holes. Its hard to believe but our train show is 7 weeks away already.

I shall have a cup and look over da forum.

Have a good'un!

Good morning. Nothing special going on today, at least nothing I'm aware of. I'll be in and out during the day. What? Do you think I have nothing else to keep me busy? I have to hold the bed down lest it fly off, watch the TV so it thinks it's needed, read the comic section of the local paper so I can continue my education and figure out what I'll have to eat today. That's a busy schedule. :D

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe I'll have a short stack of buttermilk pancakes (bring over the bottle of Maple Syrup) and a cup of dark roast coffee in a FGLK Mug.

Woke up this morning with a very sore right ankle....  I think a couple days ago I twisted it while taking out the trash to the edge of the driveway through the snow, and it is just now starting to talk back to me.  There is no swelling at all so i think what I did was just pull the tendon over across the joint....  I am flat footed so I know what happens when I do THAT....  Still hurts, but appears to be loosening up as I use it this morning.

Jeffrey, glad you got to the doctors!  Should give a little peace of mind if nothing else.  Also very pleased they found out what was going on with your Mom!  You both continue in my prayers.....

I'm planning on hobbling downstairs and do some starring at the projects I have started.......  How much I will accomplish?  Who knows!

Best get moving......

Good Afternoon...

I spent part of my afternoon listening to some house finches and white throated sparrows singing along with the cardinals...as I took an afternoon walk around the neighbourhood...Smile

Then I spent the rest of it frustrating myself on doing some colour studies on some styrene for some more roads    I'm thinking about using straight black styrene and just suggesting that they had just repaved...

I'll be posting some tomorrow when I get these things done...you'll see what I mean...

 Just a quick stop.

Got a couple of pictures taken outside today.  I will get one posted on the WPF.

Here's a video from a buddy of mine.  He lives about 20ft from the "sand patch".  Its a line that goes from Pittsburgh to Baltimore.   I've seen a good bit of neat stuff from his porch.

Sigh I've resigned myself to the fact I am destined to haul Mom's stuff from place to place for the rest of my life. Hauled 2 truckloads from her garage to, of all places, my basementGrumpy. The stuff Brenda wants to put in the all town garage sale this spring. We have donated maost all that isn't just dumpster bound stuuf to the Village Foundation and they will sell it and use the money for some of their projects for the community. In the meantime, it sits in our basement. And yes, I will be moving it at least two more timesGrumpy Grumpy. Thank goodness there are two doors to the trainroom. There is still several loads to go.

Jeff- I'm very very happy the docs were wrong about alzhiemers (sp?), and they figured the problem and got it taken care of. I can tell you are relieved. You made a funnyYes. Now tell that "Indian" she needs to get better, out of that Nursing Home and back in front of the stove where she belongs! (if THAT don't get her fired up....nothing will. Preeetty darn sure I covered everything to make her fighting madWhistling Smile, Wink & Grin

Ken- Drivers license renewal tomorrow? Hmmmmmm..Confused....., Coupons for Taco Bell?

Welp, Brenda'll be home within an hour from bowling so I best get back to scratching the dogs tummy. Spoiled fat thing.

Another slice of pumpkin pie, please.

***Todd, been there, done that. Try not to let the stress shave too many years off your life.

Well, got a couple Atlas roller bearing trucks with Accumate couplers, only to discover the wheels touch the bottom of most of my vintage freight cars. Glad I didn't order a 10-pack. Not sure which type to try next. I would sure like to convert my rolling stock from Rapidos to some kind of nice knuckle couplers. Needs to be easy, trucks w/ couplers which are ready to swap out with vintage stuff. Have looked at the online charts and am still confused.

Good Morning Folks,

Janie, coffee and a breakfast bagel, please.

My Mom shows signs of improvement. The fever is down, but she is still very, very weak. The docs told me yesterday that she needs to gain some strength before the can take the dead kidney out. The surgery is now scheduled for the week after next. She may be able to come home for a few days before the surgery is performed.

Jeff - I am glad to hear that your mom does not suffer from Alzheimer´s isease. It is really a nasty thing. Hope your mom and you will be alright soon.

The job front currently only shows bad news. The bank has turned down our credit request, because were are too old and  broke. I won´t chime in on the rants about banks, but I do understand why there is not a very favorable mentioning of bankers in the Holy Book. My dreams of leaving Germany are coming back ...

Hope y´all have a good one!

Good Morning!! Bacon, eggs over easy and fried potatoes please. Coffee too thank you.

Today: Rain likely after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 42. Northeast wind between 9 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Tonight: Rain and snow, becoming all snow after 9pm. Low around 29. Northeast wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible. Guess I’ll be using the sn*wblower yet again. Shouldn’t last long though.

Ulrich- I’m pleased to here there is improvement in your Mothers condition. Prayers continue.

Robby- Yes. I know “the look” all too well.

Not much going on today other than w**k tonight. Maybe I’ll hit the old layout for a bit, that would be nice. Of course I could go to Mom’s and haul another load….,(gulp) home. Depends on the rain situation. (open truck bed). Or, if I do decide to go to Mom’s, I will be real close to Castle TrainsConfused…..But I don’t think I need anything right now.

Morning from the Happy B-Day Boy. Made it 55 years so far.

Flo, just a bowl of frosted flakes and a glass of O J please.

Jeffery Glad to hear your Mon is doing better. Getting ready to box up your stuff and will get it mailed today.

Ulrich First glad you mother is doing better as well. Sorry you had to wait so long to find out the job is not going to become a reality for you.

Sue SSI Sue got a letter from SSI yesterday and was not good news. For some reason they have cut her check from $253.00 a month to $103.50 a month. That is going to badly hurt my budget plans. Think it might have something to do with my unemployment January, will have to call and find out what the deal is.

Good Morning,

I’ve been trying to post this for 3 hours now, system wouldn’t let me log in to post.

Ken, Happy Birthday!

Jeff, glad to hear they have a plan to get your mom back on her feet.  I hope you and your mom get better real soon.

Larry, you say train show?  Detail please…

Garry that is good news about the MI sister.  Hopefully you can get things down south worked out soon.

Ken sometimes I have that problem but feel better if I go outside for some fresh air.  I think its from the house closed up all winter.  I’ll be happy when I can open windows again.

Rob if they “just touch” the bottom you can buy washers to give a little space in there, normally they are used to adjust coupler height.

I’m off tomorrow for a medical appointment, I may have to admit I’m not 24 anylonger…

I need to break out the Jordon spreader and the flanger…

SNOWFALL AMOUNTS BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON MAY BE IN THE 4 TO 8 INCH
RANGE ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. THESE TOTALS WILL BE IMPACTED BY
THE AMOUNT OF ICE THAT WILL ACCUMULATE
.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have the Eggs Benedict the morning and cup of dark roast coffee to tide me over to lunch time.

So.....  who's the nut in the Burger King Birthday Hat jumping up and down and dancing around????   Huh?  Ken.....?  Opps THAT is him isn't it.  Never seen him this happy before.  What's the occasion?

Ulrich and Jeffrey, so glad your Moms are improving!

Todd, I still have a room full of Junque from my parents house.  Some of the items are Anti Q's from several generations back that could make me rich (according to my Mom - might bring a couple bucks at most at auction).  I know and feel your pain!  This Summer I am going to clean house and gain back some space.  Items will either go to auction or to the landfill.....

We are under a "Winter Storm Watch" here in the Finger Lakes Region.  Could get messy with deteriorating conditions starting tonight and 6 to 10 inches of heavy white stuff and some high winds on Friday......

Tonight I have a Blue and Gold Banquet to attend for the Pack.  Just found out that a Venture Crew is being started at a different church here but with some of the same players as the Pack I am Commissioner for.  I volunteered last night to come on board as their Commissioner as well.  District Commissioner and the District Executive were grinning from ear to ear about it!

Back when I was a Camp commissioner for our Scout Camp, I always carried my Sierra Cup on my belt when I did morning rounds to the campsites.  When asked why, I would always state that the sharing of coffee was an honored tradition of the commissioner when talking with the Scoutmaster and allowed the Commissioner to easily assess how the Troop was doing.  There were several skits done about me as a Commissioner at campfires over the years all involving much belly padding and the coffee cup.  So...  last night our District Commissioner was giving a long speech about Commissioner Service.  At one point he said, "and what one word best describes the Commissioner?"  And paused just long enough for me to yell out, "Coffee!"  The older Scouters in the room completely lost it......  Stopped the speech for a minute or so........  Every once in a while I get a word in.....!!!

Well, I best get moving.  The day awaits!

Good Afternoon Gang,

Happy B-Day Ken! I have asked Petra to make a birthday Cake for you, which you will get as soon as I am home! I am still at my parents´  place, taking care of my dad. Not an easy task. Those of you having to deal with the elderly know what I mean Whistling

My mom will leave the hospital beginning of next week, just to get a few days of rest at home, before she has to report back for the surgery. Looks like I will have to take care for both gthe next few weeks. As my job will not materialize, I have the time do to that.  Keeps me out of trouble and bad thoughts about my future.

Warning: One of these days  will just knock on someone´s door - I hate being in Germany.
