Morning or Afternoon guys

Fixed my car's Odometer and tripomoter. It's a realtively easy and inexpensive fix. 30 bnucks and 30 minutes is all it took.

PC, Sorry to hear about your son's rough recovery, but at least he can rest comfortably.

Jeff, Maybe get some barbed wire for the nephew?

Robby, By Jove, it's great. Not too dirty, not too rusty, and no graffitti. Definately want it. Not likely you could PM me a total for that and a set of the powders?

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Sir Madog

Good Morning,

a drab day is breaking. Petra will be gone today and I will use my "free" time to double check some of the dimensions in my designated train room and maybe start drawing the benchwork in my little CAD system. There are still some issues with that, which I have not yet resolved.

Janie, coffee and French toast for me, please.

PC - continuing healing Angel for your son!

Ken, Morgan - I am awed by that plan. I never would be able to come up with something like it. I like the left part with the yard a lot, maybe the right bit could use a little bit of "untangling". Ha, I have learned a lesson - my thinking is to simple to design such a big layout. All I can come up with is somehow arranged along the walls, and maybe a peninsula in the middle - not enough to accommodate all your druthers, Ken. I am not creative enough ... Crying

CUL

Au contraire, simplicity can be the best kept secret. And for a lack of creativity, that's boilerwash (see what I did there, I made a train funny!)  too. I for one don't have the talent to do the scenery like you have on these plans. Sure, I know Paint well enough, butnot that well well enough. Besides, you'll note the first mistake I made was I forgot to check some aisleway clearences...

Truth be told, what I did was move the yard to an angle, tie it back into the old track at the top end, and go "Hmm, that corner looks like it'd fit the grain mill well enough..." and then start adjusting things so it isn't all in one place.

And by all means, untagle away! I can send you the RTS file if you'd like, and I'll be sure to include my curve template too.

 Evening AZ

At Lease I did not call it a Crap Hole! Laugh

Another trying day, so Flo Beer please.

Computer Front Found some of my old programs, buried with train stuff. Found two key programs, Go Back and Registry Repair Pro.Thank God for Go Back, now I can start deleting some stuff off this computer with out fear of deleting the wrong file. Far as the computer Registry? Found the following.

Invalid Paths 168

"      " Help Files 5

"      " Applications 7

"      " Shared DLL 5

Unused Software Entries 7

Auto Run Programs 36?

That will slow the sucker down some! On the old computer I only had 2 Auto Runs on start up, both where for security. Today I deleted all the files except the Mc Fee and could not open Window Media Player or get on line. So I used the Go Back and everything was fine again.

Blowout and Ray and others. Well at lease you got a chuckle.

JR For me it is easier to lay the track than draw it using a CAD program, but I am sort of getting the hang of it.

Vincent You have a PM, I got to the Post Offices Today.

PC Sorry I missed what was wrong with your son. Like many I sort of skimp through the posting here at the dinner. I glad to here he is resting comfortable.

Ulrich 1 Is your Mother OK? I read part of a post where someone was wishing her well.

2 Funny you brought piece's of the Berlin Wall, I happen to have a piece hanging 4 feet from me as I pick at the Keyboard Thingy.

3 Far as coming up dry on ideas for the layout, I can sure understand. I am starting to come up with some ideas. You know the sizes of the room right? Just draw some 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 circles in different parts of the room and see what comes to you. That is what I am starting to do.

Morgan Is there four main lines in the last idea? Now I have had a few Beer, but I could not follow all the action you had packed in there. Any idea to what the run's where? All so remember I am fat getting old. If I was 40, I could handle all the POP, POOP, Or CRAP HOLES or what ever you want to call them.

All so Morgan and Ulrich The A/C section and Breaker Box section is no longer off limits. All so the garage door does open, so we can go wider there. All so when I get my E Mail Account working on this computer, we can exchange files.

OK, here is what I came up with today. Have no idea what it will look like at here at the site with me not having my old Photo Suite working yet. Could not crop or change file sizes.

Great, now I can not post Pictures? Bang Head Did they change Photo Bucket or is it this computer?

Ken: Yes there was a big change in Photobucket and they're getting tons of complaints about it.

I haven't tried it yet today. About high time I did.

Finally got it to post but I had to hunt down a tag line that would work. The ones that appear under the thumbnail don't seem to work.

Umm, Oh no. Photo bucket changed? Mabe I out to try one out myself, and see if mine still works....

I hope y'all don't mind my test being here. Enjoy the photo of my Athern flatcar with scratch-built steel plate load.

EDIT: Well, mine worked first try, but I'm not liking the new layout of it. Oh well, I barely go on Photobucket anymore. Now that I know I still know how to use photobucket, I guess I'll take a cheeseburger for the road.

Evenin' folks!

Flo I'll have the hot roast beef sandwich with all the trimmings and an Iced Tea for dinner tonight.

Ken and Jeffrey....  Yep they "Improved it!"  Wow...  All the stuff they had on the right hand side of the page they moved over to the left side of the page and all the stuff they had on the left hand side of the page they moved over to Right side of the page!  WOW!  Then they gave you one more click to find all all your sub-albums with a pop up (in this case Poop up is proper) the blackens everything else out.  What an improvement!  Color me totally unimpressed. Grumpy

Why these places have to keep "improving" themselves I don't know.  There is nothing they added THAT I am even vaguely interested in.  I use photoshop for working with photos, and will continue to.  They have a very Bleeck photo editor in comparison.

Opps, I see the SoapBox heading toward me....

Later!

Hey guys.

Urlich- I've picked up on some German, but not much. Spanish is a pain in the hind end for me. It may be helpful, but I could make a few cracks about language that Vinnie will probably kill me for. Angel

Oh, and the worrying about the cones reading pielegro, question, why don't we have it in Deep south for those of us (Myself included) that have a southern drawl? Maybe something along the lines of "Don't come over here y'all"? Blindfold

That all depends on where you study. I was in Germany at the time. Knew some French and absolutely hated Spanish. Italian wasn't too bad.

Geisundteit. ( My standard response for anyone who babbles incoheerently in a perfectly recognized language.)

Okay, so something somewhere has been improved. Does this mean I should worry about posting Ken's new plan?

Ken: I'm going to try to post up the upper and lower layouts separately. That will also show what places could easily be opened up, or not so. Also, the convergence crossover I checked will need longer approaches for grade, by a lot, or we can just kill that altogether and see if we can't connect the two layers someplace else. The two connecting tracks aren't a part of your circuits, but I think they'd look nice while you are running the trains up to the other lines.

How good are you with building dutch doors, that layout can be built on and open up, but still be solid? I hate liftouts too.

Gentlemen, and ladies (especially if we get Sue in here again), I need to put two of my classmates on the prayer list. Both just lost their grandfathers today, not that far apart from each other either timewise. I don't know details of the passings, just that they'll need the kind of spiritual support we have here in spades.

Good rainy evening: I'll have the Lemon smoked mackerel with mushy peas and whole wheat bread please, and a large JR Regular.

Jeff:

Woke up about 11 pm  to the sound of heavy rain pounding on the roof. That's a good sound to hear. It's been so dry here that I think some of the local Indians might have resorted to doing rain dances.
...We have the  department of Highways grader crew to do that , works like a charm!    Great words of encouragement for  TSF, or so Google Translate tells me! Laugh and TSF, that translator is Fast!

Garry:

Have you heard from Fergie or Luc? If you do contact them, let them know we miss them.
Haven't heard from either  in ages. I lost Luc's email in the great hard drive wipe last summer, and Fergie doesn't  reply to his.Huh?

Paul: Good to see you back in again!Thumbs Up

RobbyP:

Barry......I've done some N-scale and I take Paypal.  If you have any questions, just PM me.
...Noted! Good to know.  So if cars were sent to you, you'd do the dirty?Smile, Wink & Grin

Todd:

Odd about Keith though. He was a very frequent poster. Then poof! Gone. I sure hope nothing happened.
...I sent him a follow-up on a PM we had going - nothing, nada, ....Alien it's  not like him.

....How do you eat an elephant Ulrich?  What I'm getting at is that your layout ideas are plenty creative, and could be applied to each "bight" of Ken and Morgan's plan.  (Much the same way Morgan analyzed the placing of those access areas, and what PC intends for restarting his present layout.) My 2 Cents  Those turnouts will ease the strain, yes? €62.66 saved - not bad!
Jeff - I forgot to mention it, on German e-Bay you now and then find slices of the Berlin wall up for sale.
...for some not-too-clear reason there are three of those standing grimly  in a mini-park on Truro's main street.  I wonder what they fetch on eBay...Mischief

JR:

and that was making the old Rapido couplers unhook as they gave and took slack so we fixed that with a dab of silicone over the couplers (not a problem when you don't need to switch stuff out.
...Thanks, might help a passenger consist I have that is flaky that way. (My VIA set by ConCor (IIRC))

Lee:

Ray, I will be sharing some 49 to 55 mph winds with you today.....
We're getting that glob of weather today and tomorrow. See http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y51/der5997/stormpulseNov17.jpg  Hope your layout tour is really enjoyable. Must be great to have such a wealth of talent close by.

PC: good to see you on the drip again - just like old times!   Trusting your boy is recovering well now.Angel

Ken:

Did they change Photo Bucket or is it this computer?
...I think the changed it, yet again!( Reading on, I see that is indeed the case)  Not for the better by the look of things when I went to upload that cloud map thing just this evening.  I'm with Dr. Sheldon Cooper of Big Bang Theory..."They say change is good, but it isn't!"  The only improvement I can see after taking Ray's tour is that you can now hit View All without having to scroll down to the end of the first page. For this relief, much thanks!

Galaxy:

Ok, no foul language on this forum!
..Oh Cluck!

Once more time for bed with no mmr accomplished - unless you count the arrival in today's mail of a sill unit for my Atlas GP7 (9?)  Atlas backordered these years ago (I've been waiting perhaps 4 years.  Finally found a supplier on the Bay (sooo much stuff) and it only took about 13 attempts to get him to answer his email.  So now I can get the couplers back on that loco, and get it onto the layout again. Yeah

Goodnight all, and God Bless. Prayers for all in need of Healing, Comfort, Prosperity and Peace.Angel
