Was WAY too many. Trying to wean myself off and go back to building a layout - Thank you Atlas for assistance there! Spend three hours or so each night on yahoogroups and a couple private email lists, too.[:O]

Noah, I've been home the past seven months recovering from a couple of major surgories, so have had a lot of idle time to spend here. Never gave much thought to the amont of time until you made this post. Must admit I spend tooooooooo- much time here but, the fine people we have here has made it addictive and is hard not to leave or hard not to click the putor on when I get up in the morning to check in. Is there a Model Railroad Forum Asylum out there to get help ???[(-D][(-D][(-D][:O]

on the average 1 hour and mostly from 5 pm on just before dinner and I call it my happy hour. Sometimes when I also connect to the Atlas forum or some other forum here in Europe (yes we have 'em too) things may get out of hand or should I say out of time.

Hi again Noah, I usually put on average 2 hrs. a day. Alot more in the winter months. Lately I have not been on here all that much due to long days at work & the usual yard & home up keep. Once the basement is back in shape I'm going all out on my layout & take a weeks vacation to get her up & running so then I'll spend about 20min. or so just to check up on this site. PS; Unless I need advise for my layout.

I spend about 45min to an hour on train forums, about 1-2 on car forums (I moderate). On days when my health isn't all that good, I spend a little more.

If you define it as the Trains forum, only about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. If you want to include about 5 or 6 different sites, it's closer to an hour and a half (the other sites don't have that much traffic).

Lately though, with all the UP bashing and what will Horizon do next, I don't spend nearly as much time as I used to.

I have to limit myself to 15-20 minutes a day on this forum. I need to spend more time on model railroading.

I come and go several times a day, so overall I guess I must spend about 2 hours every day, more or less (leaning on the "more" side).

philnrunt, I think I'm going to put it back together so I can run trains for now, but I might draw up plans for a new layout anyway, and change it over the next summer, who knows (well, I should-but-I don't so....)

Noah- at work, the 'puter is on line 24-7, so when I get there , I check the forum ASAP, then minimize it, checking back throughout the night, trying to dig deeper into the back pages.
It always surprises me just how much dead time there is on a quiet 8 hour shift. Before forum (BF) I would draw trackplans or read, but now it's more fun to see what all of you are thinking.
When I get home I usually snooze a few hours until it gets too bright, then I'll check again to see what was added. And for the past week or two, the rain has been coming down so there is even more downtime to sit here and veg.
Speaking of neverending rain, how's your layout rebuild coming? Are you going to make big changes or restore the status quo? I like the ARK idea, keep us up on it.

I spend about 2 hours a day on average, but it can be alot more, never much less, unless I've got to go someplace.
