Like this one, but it shows my bad ballast work.

This one looks pretty good as well.

At the time my wife was FHP, she has since transferred to another state agency.  Anywho she really got a kick out of this scene.

This is off my old layout. I should of had the lights off on the AC6000. That layout is gone now so it cannot be redone.

Just created my new favorite scene on the layout. It features a refurbished bachmann station kit. It's been handpainted as well:

I like to set up model scenes with steam engines and add a little Adobe Photoshop smoke.

Looks good Ken, now onto the outdoor grass area.  I bet you can make that look just as nice.  You should do a diner scene with a car show going on, you could have your cuda there winning he nights prize!

Great job to everyone.  This is great to spur ideas in us all, keep em coming!!

wow! some great shots on here. CSXRoadslug I love your street scene!

My estuary on the new layout, done with two-part resin. All the rocks  were hammered to size, then glued and painted.

Mike

Nice shot. Looks like the person and dogs are real and photoshopped in.

Mike,

It really is amazing how realistic it looks.  Your backdrop has a lot to do with that; please tell me about it.

Great work!

Phil the backdrop is pretty basic  - just a temporary thing. I'll open a new thread about it if you like, rather than hijacking this one.

0-6-0 that night scene is beautiful!

I have always like this scene since it reminds of the early Chessie days..In this case it appears to be located on the B&O.

Actually, this is the DM yard diesel house area on the Bucyrus club's layout.

Thanks guys for the very kind comments about my photo. Pouring and levelling the water was nerve-wracking but I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I had planned to give it one more coat but I didn't want to push my luck.

Mike

 G'day Mike,

I'll add my 2c worth. Fantastic realism. No need to go any further with the water...or anything else for that matter!

Next time I'm up north I'd love to pay a visit. Sensational outcome. Is it on a module or fixed part of a layout?

Cheers,

Roscoe

Wonderful images, and thanks for resurrecting this kind of thread.  I contribute a couple of pics that I like for some reason or other - oddly enough they are very simple in composition.  Cheers.

Thanks Ken.  I painted it myself with cheap acrylics. They don't adhere too well, and I've had to do it several times in the past couple of years. The paint would still have been tacky when I took that photo. It doesn't look good up close!

Mike (LH) - I echo everyone else's sentiments on your photo.  That's the most realistic-looking Preiser figure I ever seen - I can even make out the separate colors of his sneakers!  Did you hand-paint it yourself, or did it come that way from the factory?

[BTW - thanx for the kind words about my 2nd photo!]

This one stopped me mid-scroll.  There are so many things that are "right" about this scene I don't know where to begin.  Bravo!

I don't have anything to share yet but hopefully soon.  I must say that all of this creativitly is quite inspirational.  I think I will work on the layout a bit this evening if time allows.

 Thanks for sharing to everyone.

one of my favorites(not that i have a layout to have pics on).  I have others but they are all on the same shelf.  I really gotta finish the roundhouse and turntable so that I can start my yard and shop scene and start the layout.

Okay, a recent image of a PRR 2-10-4 J1 on Seneca Trestle.

Same place as my earlier post, but different view and engine.

And, while I'm here posting, another image that I like, viewed slightly further back and from the left of the Challenger image, is a NYC Niagara 4-8-4 charging up the same hill.

-Crandell

P.S.- Mike you should be very pleased and proud of your image..I would be!  Tongue Approve  Love the way you painted the rip rap.  Excellent.
