Gooood evening to all! SRP please AND an RBF. I am in an extremely good mood tonight despite the fact I had to go into work for a couple 3 hours to tend bar until my fiend could get there from a family dinner. Really, I didn't mind.

Why you ask? Welp, two reasons, one, since you asked Garry, the grandson is back to his normal self and home and doing great as if nothing ever happened. The second is.......

Brenda went to the annual all town garage sale over in Sherman, (ours is the 15th of this month) and while I was home napping on the couch trying to get some sleep I was denied last night due to my sinusitis (sp?) and swollen tonsels( again sp?) for some reason, she came home with THIS!!!!

All for 10 bucks United Statesian. Needless to say I was extremely pleased. Most of the WS ground foum and a ballast canister have not even been opened. The four large containers contain various amounts of ground foam, each containing at least 2 or more cianisters worth. the pile of black and tan things in front are rock molds. Most appear to be homemade, but who cares. She left the "pine trees" because she didn't think I needed them and she was correct though I wouldn't have complained. My world right. At any rate, this saves a trip to the LHS and a goodly amount of cash.

Well, I think I will retire to the easy chair and finish the movie, (I've been doing this on commercials)because it's Werewolf day on SiFi and I watch most Werewolf shows in case they show up in Williamsville so I'll be sure to kow what to do. I've got my concerns about a quiet couple on the other side of the park. Nice people but........ I just got this feeling.

Gonna turn in after the movie, hopefully get some sleep so I cn get up and cough my way through Church tomorrow.

Prayers for those in need.

EDIT- Looks like I have midnight snacks and breakfast so order up while you can. Also as luck would have it, my scenery mag showed in the mail today so boy do I have it set.

Looks like you should be making Dinner for Brenda for the next week.

At the very least!

TODD: Your wife...ROCKS!Thumbs Up Amazing what a little interest on their part, with a little orientation on our part can lead to 'eh? Also, very happy to hear the grandson is back to normal... sometimes, the little ones really bounce back well, sounds like one of those times!Big Smile

Good evening...RBF please 'n thank-you... Oh, the new girl? What was the name again? Huh...something new in here all the time.

An update on the window blinds situamacation: Loving Wife and I took a recon trip to Menard's (like Lowe's/Home Despot) to look...just "look." I found a white vinyl miniblind set for around $4. OK...we'll grab THAT and see about paint. Menard's only has RustOleum...with a way too dark blue. A trip to local Sherwin-Williams store leads to a rack of Krylon, complete with the "Fusion" stuff. Again, too dark. Paint store dude says they can whip-up a spray can of anything...at $6 per can, 6 can minimum. $36 for two windows... nope. Oh, and he's got a primer THAT will prime anything...only $16 for a pint!!! Shock A trip to Wally-World finds a rattle can spray bomb of a "close enough" blue (gloss) and Krylon clear flat.

The blinds install easily...almost too easily. Apparently the crazy gal we bought the house from had blinds up originally, the bracket holes lined up...perfectly. Good thing, the wood in this house is like concrete! I put the blinds up...and look at 'em, and look at 'em, and look at 'em some more. I have Loving Wife look at 'em... we decide after much time spent looking at 'em...to leave the blinds as-is... the white really doesn't stand-out much from the pale blue.

The spray bombs go back tomorrow...

Have a good night everybody,

Evening Janie, I'll have a Santa Fe mug of decaf for now. I am STUFFED! Y'know that Bait-Shop-Pizza that Garry talked about a while back? Well, he'd thought they just had hamburgers in their new place - NOT! So, for dinner (after all the train-viewing and drool-producing layouts, between Dan's, Gus's, and Garry's) we split a large pizza at the ol' "Bait Shop". But funny, I must've missed where the bait tank was - didn't see a sign of it (though they did have anchovies on the menu for pizza toppings. Couldn't talk Garry into any more exotic toppings...darn!)Smile,Wink, & Grin

Long drive in the rain to Kentucky today (most of the rain started a bit before I crossed the Ohio River, it seemed), but it slacked off enough when I was getting out of the vehicle and into each of the guys' homes. Dan's wife does most all of his scenery and structures, Yeah!! I think she said (though I don't know if she got the bargains that Todd's Brenda did for him - Wow!!!). Gus had the most amazingly detailed layout, and could explain the history on pretty much every loco (and some cars, too) he was running (or had in reserve). The guy's got a fantastic memory - if I were into the Illinois Central, I'd be mining Gus for all the ideas I needed for my layout. And Garry's layout looks even more impressive in real life than those outstanding photos he posted. I'll put up some pics from all three layouts tomorrow after church - for now, I'll be heading for bed to sleep off my half of that pizza (which was preceded by a tasty buffet at the Barkley Lake (State Park Resort) Lodge). The lodge itself is really cool - think a cross between Frank Lloyd Wright style buildings and a rustic log hunting lodge. Tall ceilings most everywhere you went, a neat porch facing the lake, and a lot of guest rooms (with covered walkways to the dining area of the lodge). Oh yeah, and they have a pool, too.

Well, as I said, I'm off to dreamland (maybe I'll dream of finding me a girlfriend who has the finely-honed bargain-hunting skills of Todd's wife...). Zzz More tomorrow, including pics.

Blessings and prayers,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

P.S. Jeff - I don't blame you one bit; if that were my nephew, I wouldn't let him even close to any vehicle I had. Shock

Thanks guys, that's what we needed. He departed peacefully at 10 Saturday Morning. With, just  more than slightly less than nothing, thanks to this wonderful economy, but we'll get by. I'm prompted to post a quote from his facebook page, dunno if it's his or from someone else:

We hold these truth's to be self evident, that all men are created equal. However, after the instant of conception, it all pretty much comes down to your net worth.

Regarding the sitting upright: yes, it would have been better, except he has't the muscle tone to hold himself up, and his back was hrting to be on it, so we had to keep him propped on a side.

On a side note, we also lose the layout space, and he and I never got to go very far with the layout anyway. I do have the buildings though.

Off to bed. Sorry I missed ya Garry, though with all they've done to I-70, you couln'ta seen me anyway. The joys of the Stimulus money, lots of roadwork in a single area, making it darned impossible to get ANYWHERE. could we build track instead pwease?

 Good Morning Everyone,

It has been a frosty night, but now the sun´s out and it will turn into a nice day. Janie, I´ll be going for a light breakfast today, just a mug o´ coffee and a breakfast bagel, please.

Morgan - my Angel to your family for the loss you have to suffer.

SteamTrainFan - that Hornby Terrier is a "terrierable" loco, with bad running characteristics. If you want to have a small streamer, go for Bachmann´s GWR Pannier Tank loco.Bachmann (UK) locos in general seem to get better reviews than Hornby´s - their level of detail and quality is supposed to be higher than their Spectrum line in the US.

No plans for the day, but no dabbling around with my layout plan, either.

Have a good day!

Coffee please Hot coffee. My head feels like I need to deflate it. I have sinusitis in the spring and fall, but gentlemen, I do believe I may be have a spring cold. First time I've been sick in I don't know how many years.

I will not let the horrible effects of this rare disease keep me from taking my treasures from the kitchen table, ( a job that without question, no matter how thoughtful she may be, must be accomplished tood sweet) to the train room. The thing now is where to put it. I do not want to start another pile. But I do plan on working on the layout today.

Oh well all that w**k will be accompliished after a hot chest and head congestion relieving shower and Church. Then I must pick some Rhubarb as Brenda also has some strawberries in the fridge she wants to use and what better way than with a SRP!!! My thoughts exactly.

36 rock molds. Many are homemade with not much depth to them. This actually may work for the better. They can be bent without too much distortion and I will probably use WS Lightweight Hydrocal to per Ray's review being stronger and able to work with longer.

Thumbed through my scenery magazine I recieved last night. Actually, I was surprised at the articles I hadn't seen. Usually these types of magazines are a repeat of articles you have already if you keep the interested ones. Of course I haven't been a long time subscriber so maybe...., but there were quite a few that were either before my time or I just don't remember. It did confirm my suspitions on the plaster cloth, and went in to a bit more detail than the instructions.

Welp starting to cough too frequently to get anything done, so I best hit the shower to hopefully clean out the breathing mechanisms for a little while. I'm saving the Kleenex's, so if anyone has a modeling use for the stuff that comes out of my head, let me know. I'll have plenty. OK, I think that coughing fit cost me half a tonsil soooo.....

Have a Great Day!!!

Good morning all,

Heading out to Erie county this morning for the train show….

Jeff, I’m with you 100% if the kids don’t earn it they will never be careful with it (the car).  I have two of the old Farberware percolator coffee pots and break them out for special occasions.

Morgan, little slow here on the posts, sorry to hear of your father…

Rob, I bought a magnifier hood with light at a flea market for about $6 and it works great.

Todd, what a great haul!

Good morning guys.

First to those who have/are having someone pass...the prayer candle is lit with special prayers for the departed, and for those who need special thoughts and prayers.

Sawyer looks like you got some good things in the works there....now if only we could see them....just joking, lol.

Rob...that magnifier looks like a good one and the price seems very reasonble. I have also always been satisfied when I have ordered from amazon.com. The only thing I don't really like is that one cannot really touch, smell, taste, and handle the product before it comes...but I still have been al satisfied.

Todd you got an excellent haul for 10 smackeroos! you should send Brenda out shopping more often!!

WEll i took my two pain killers and the muscle relaxer so now I go off to bed for awhile....Zzz

Have a great day.

Mornin' everyone,

Zoe I'm just grabbing a quick cup of dark roast coffee to wake me up for church.  Don't want to start snoring in the middle of the sermon.......  Besides sermons at my church are almost always great and inspiring.  We have to set up the "Social Hall" for the Talent Show this evening right after the service.

Morgan, my condolences to you and your family and my prayers will be with all of you as you wind down this portion of life.  May you each find strength to deal with all the emotions and events to come.

I will pop back in when I get home.

Later!

 Good Afternoon,

though it is a nice day, it is somewhat dull and boring. Went out for a moment to do a little train watching - not a big deal, as our flat is less than 100 yards away from a main line. 6 trains in 15 minutes - not bad for a Sunday.

Zoe, I´ll just have a big mug of coffee, please.

I have declared my layout plans to be final - I will go for the version with the big train hall. That will be an eye catcher and somehow a "natural" end of the layout. Talked to my friend about constructing the benchwork - guess I will have to wait a little longer for him to find the time to do it with me. That will give me the time to work out  a "schedule" for the train operation on that layout. It may appear a little odd to have a schedule for the train moves, but I read about it in a book and it will certainly add a little suspense to it.

A web search has led to a number of pictures and textures, which I can use to make the back drop.  You can download them for free - another boost to my shoestring budget. Take a look at all those textures here. Come to think of it, once I get started on it, I maybe should write a feature for MR "A Layout on a Budget" Big Smile

Morgan - the words you quoted "We hold these truth's to be self evident, that all men are created equal. However, after the instant of conception, it all pretty much comes down to your net worth" really made me think about my net worth - nothing? Any other comment, than just "Oh, what a world we live in!" would probably blow the framework of this forum, but what´s the worth of a society which reduces people to his/hers net worth? End of rant...

 A la prochaine, mes amis!

I'm listening to 'Car Talk' on NPR as I'm putting this post together. Never did get a chance to do any modeling yesterday. I had to get the laundry done then take care of some errands including a trip to the pharmacy. I looked at the oil change date on the car last night. It's a bit behind and I can't afford to get the oil changed this month. The oil is still very clean so a filter change is in order. I'll be able to get the oil changed next month. The car is 16 years old, has over 300,000 miles on it, still starts on the first crank every time and still runs relatively well. Seems it's in better shape than I am so I'm not complaining much. Tomorrow is food stamp day so I'll be going to Wal-Mart to do the second half of my grocery shopping. I buy the first $60 worth when my monthly check comes in and the food stamps cover the remaining $60 worth. It doesn't help much that the prices keep going up higher every month. One good thing though. My electric for last month was $72. That's what it should be for this time of year. The previous two months bills were insane. Both were for over $120 each. My power bill had NEVER been that high during the last ten years even if the heater had been left on high or the AC set on max. The main problem we've had here lately is that the power company for this area is in the process of changing to new ownership. The power we've been getting the last few months is being supplied by another electric company and they apparently saw a neat way to make some extra money. They charged our power DOUBLE for for the power. Naturally that gets passed on to the customers. This came up in the news recently and the company in question is going to be under investigation for price gouging, which is illegal in this state. Quite a few gas stations did it back in 2005 after Rita came through and gas prices shot up to around $10 a gallon in places. All those stations got hit with big fines and some had to close because of it. I'm hoping that the aforementioned power company gets hit with some big fines for their outright highway robbery from people who have no choice but to pay if they want power.

Good Morbning All,

A nice warm spring day here, sunny with just a light breeze.

Morgan - My prayers for you and your family. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Jeff - I can't agree more with you that your nephew will never learn responsibility without having to pay for the consequences of his actions. Having the family enable his irresponsibility will only make things get worse.

Delivered our old 40' gooseneck enclosed trailer to the museum this morning. Spent time yesterday making sure the running gear was ok and the brakes, brake lights and turn signals all worked. The 10 mile run into Danbury went without a hitch except for mangling the corner of the pickup bed in the yard (underside of the gooseneck caught it on uneven ground leading to its parking spot). we could have sold the trailer as it still had a lot of life left though it was getting road worn but feel better taking a deduction and donating it as the museum always needs more storage. Left the racking and winches in it (we used to carry 5 cars in it) so the upper level can be plated over or removed as they see fit.

Back in the shop and with luck will be closer to catching up w..k by the end of the day. CUL, J.R.

Ahh - T.O.P. again. It's nearly noon so lunch is on me. Cards on file ladies !

I thinks it's happening everywhere. Here, New York State Electric and Gas {NYSEG} was recently sold to a Spain Company who promised not to raise rates and set aside $3 Million to offest any immediate "necessary increases". They just recently forced our local call center employees to take a 50% pay cut or loose their jobs, while they still posted very good profits {they chose the pay cut to at least  save their jobs}. WE can pick our own electric supplier BUT have to still pay NYSEG for delivery cuz it's their power lines the elec comes through and their gas lines as well. Now NYSEG wants increases of $75/month JUST for delivery of the elec and natural gas, whether you use any elec or gas at all, or regardless who your supplier is. It, like anything else, is a "racket" for sure- but "iffen youse wants yer power, youse will pay!!"

 Afternoon folks!

Janie just a RBF to tide me over to the Ziti dinner at the Talent Show tonight.

I will be taking a wireless microphone unit over for their use, and will then do whatever is needed in the background to make the event a success.  This is a yearly event put on by the Deacons for fellowship, and to raise money for the Pastors Discretionary Fund.

I managed to get some photos from the NMRA Meet yesterday up at my Photobucket account.  Here is a couple of shots from Red Whitman's awesome Aspen and Western Layout (On30):

You may notice the influence of another fine modeler.........

If you want to see other photos of the meet (About half were taken by me, the other half were taken from a members cell phone...) you can see them here:  LSD NFR NMRA Spring Meet.

Best get moving!  Hope all of you have a fine day.

Later!

Ah---but then we here in Ontariariaio get to pay 10% more on our rates and pay a Harmonized Sales Tax on top of the debt recovery tax and the several fees and surtaxes and stuff. This at a time when we see a bloated bureaucracy at Hydro One getting over $100,000 a year from our back pockets---Banged Head

Good Afternoon Diners,

Morgan, sad to hear your news about your Dad. It is a tough time but I'm sure you will have a lot of good memories too and later they will be more important than you can imagine now. Speaking as one who lost his Dad 18 years ago.

Rob, in addition to a shed for Bubbles, do you plan to do any of the other characters of Trailer Park Boys? If you could find a model of a mid '70s Chrysler, you could cut off the roof and doors or you could set up a BBQ for Randy.

I set up an old door in the furnace/workroom and put up my circle of unitrack with one siding to test out those N scale locos I've been collecting. The Model Power steam run very well but are noisy. The Bman consol and mountain run well too but I'm disappointed with my Walthers 0-8-0. It was the most expensive loco I have purchased and I find that it is jerky and low speed performance is poor. On a sitthat does reviews it was said it runs like a Swiss watch but I would rate it as a bad Chinese knock-off.  Perhaps I just got a poor one but I will try to break it in and see if it improves. I am tempted to send it back to Walthers but we'll see.

Sounds like our weather here was about the same as Ulrich's in April but that has changed now as we have had 4 days of cloudy, rain and cool weather with a couple more to come. It is 46F right now and that will be the high today. We do need the moisture though so I'm not complaining.

Think I'll go downstairs and run trains for a while.

See you soon,

CN Charlie

Strongest coffee you've got in a STORMY SOUTHERN mug, please.

***Jeffrey, I WISH our power bill was $120. We only got it down to $160 this last cycle by not running any AC/heat and hanging all the laundrey outside. I don't understand how it could still be as high as it is. Other than the dishwasher, clothes washer and my sound system/TV, and a few lights, there is nothing else running?!?!? If I won the Lottery, I would get off the grid just to spite the power company.

***Ray, that looks like a really neat layout. I'll head over to see the rest of the meet pics shortly.

Picked this up on the-bay as per wife's request. It is 1/97 scale, so hopefully will not look to out of place on her layout. Perhaps placement could help with this. For those of you familiar with the show Breaking Bad, she is calling it, "Walt's Rolling Lab" and it will be surrounded by cops and the CSI team.Laugh

Storms heading our way this evening. If it rain too much through tomorrow, I expect the loggers will once again be set back. Sure has taken a lot longer to sell our trees than we anticipated. Can't wait to have it all cleared so it can be turned into pasture land for our critters.

Haven't made it down into the train room to work on that pond. Just to worn out these days. See the new Doc this week, which is none to soon.

Cheers! Cowboy Rob

Where oh where has the last 4 hours gone? I know, working on the railroad!Big SmileThumbs Up I have fininshed the little trestle and placed it. It turned out pretty good though I'm not happy with the weathering of the rails. I've ballasted a ways into the tunnel and later will make a rock face for the inside that can be seen before I make the hillside it goes into. I also am reworking the bottom of the rockface that hopefully will be blended in with the mid and upper section. Before I color it I need to make my drain pipe exit. Still figuring how I want to do that. I don't think I want to just get a piece of pipe. I'm leaning more towards a natural drin such as a small mini cave thing. Not sure I'm really keen on plaster cloth. It's rather difficult for me to spread the plaster without displacing the cloth. Practice I guess.

Anyway, I need to change from my church clothes and into something more suitable for mixing a batch of plaster to cover the plater cloth with and oh, who knows what else. Went down after church just to see what I could do and said "I'll just glue these together first then change my clothes" 4 hours later.......  'tis a good day so far. Well except for the coughing fits.

Did I mention some rhubarb has been picked and is being made into something I think she called Strawberry Rhubarb Crunch?

I'd better take a nap til the next coughing fit which should be about 25- 30 minutes from now if all goes according to schedule. Then back to the railroad.

I've found you'all again.More time to spend on this and RR. Started paint the cliffs and ran out of paint!!! Nothing open till mon, so I,ll do some log buncks. MORGAN.. Sorry to hear about dad ,will put him on Mass scheduale for the week. Just remember all the good times....JEFF My elec. is always 172.00 a month ,and my gas is always 82.00 a month the only other two is Water and fone; 30.00 and 200.00.... Weather here is normal for April 50'to 60's rain sometimes and cloudy like now.....MRR lots of rocks and cliffs ,scrub trees, some little spots of green near the salt water, top of cliffs are covered with trees and stumps ( these are hand made by me from self hardening clay) trees are made from ceder shakes that I split (red) than taper by putting them in small lathe, drilling holes and inserting a form of caspia that I get from a local flower shoppe, they charge me 20.00$ for a good handful;I soak them in glycerine 80% and 20% 70% alcohol for the stems, for a week;pull them out and hang them upside down for about 14 days or untill the tops are soft. Sounds funny but when the tops are "soft" they are really full of stuff and will last a long time; mine have lasted almost 5yrs (from old MRR) ...Kids are here downstairs so its time for LUNCH.....acd...Fair Winds and Follow Seas.

Ya'll lost me in the move, again

Yesterday I changed oil on my car. What would normally take me about a half hour took almost 1.5 because of the prvious owner being a knucklehead and oil filter being in a very difficult to reach spot. The filter was in a hard to reach spot, on the side of engine, directly below lower intake manifold (read: hot), above the crossmember, with the distributor right next to it. On top of that it was also too tight (I had to Mcgyver). The oil drain plug was way too tight, so tight in fact I had to use an impact wrench to get it off. Then I had to run to Autozone for a new one, during rush hour with the crazies running around... I have made more progress, as far as sanding goes, but I still have to pick up some trim pieces and get that big dent out of the quarter panel below the trim belt (I've been slide hammering it for a while and have only gotten it out about halfway).

I also dealt with my first bout of potential road rage on the return trip. As I was pulling out into the merge/turn (the middle one) lane I had my blinkers going and started accelerating to get into an opening. Then some bimbo in a Scion Tc (Jeff, could she be related to your nephew? lol, just kidding) cuts into the gap I was shooting for just as I was beginning to make the merge without using signals. I had to pull off and turn the other way to avoid a side-swipe (I was driving my mother's '03 Expedition EB) and she blows the horn at me. I highly doubt she was making a pass as she didn't pass anyone till about 1.5 miles later (I tucked in 5 cars behind her). I catch up as she's stopping for a light. As I am about to pull in the lane next to her (no one in it)  she cuts right in front again (and also with no signals again) and I have to hit the brakes hard to avoid a collision. Getting cut off twice by the same person in the span of 3 miles didn't really sit well with me, so I inch the Expedition foward a little bit until the bug deflector hides her license plate, then inch it foward again when the other light turns yellow this time having the deflector hide her spoiler. She took off the moment that light turned green. I managed to pull up along side and give her the stink eye before passing her. However I wasn't quite though yet. At the end of town she comes flying out of nowhere, and actually decides to signal and not cut it close. Normally I would have let her by, but I decided a little pay-back was in order. I cut across and cut her off, so she went the other way, but I went across and cut her off again, but with the truck taking up both lanes. After a few seconds, I decided that was enough retribution and let her on her way. Probably not the smartest idea to pull that, but I think she learned a lesson because she started driving like a sane person after that.

Morgan, Sorry to hear about your father.

Jeff, I'd have to agree with what JR said about your nephew.

Todd, Your wife did a good job there. Dinner is definately in order.

I had some fun today with a friend of mine. We are doing a run to get groceries---we come up to a red light and we stop. Car behind us blows the horn at us and then runs right by us into the side of a truck going on a green light. We get to stop and pull over as we witnessed this fine driver doing this stunt. The cops come along and end up hauling the guy off to the copshop---reason? Driving under suspension, DUI, and a whole host of bench warrants---

Meanwhile we who only wanted to pick up a few random grocery items got to spend the afternoon doing other things besides what we intended--Grumpy

Hello ...

Our lake level has really gone up in the past 24 hours. It was quite high yesterday, but now it is approaching the highest I have seen it. The lake is man-made by damming the Cumberland River, and we are down stream from Nashville that had all sorts of flooding from the storms.

Again, it was very enjoyable having JimCG here. both Dan and Gus called later to say they also like having JimCG vist.

Morgan ... Keep in touch with your friends here. We care about you and know grief can get tough. I forget; do you have brothers and sisters?

JimCG ... I solved the gremlin that stopped my GN passenger train. It was not a short, but a dead spot. I had recently moved stuff under the layout and pulled apart some soldered wires that should have been up in the benchwork. Runs well now. Dang that Murphy!

Todd ... That's a great haul of scenery stuff! I have to wonder why it was at a garage sale so cheap.

Ray .. thanks for posting pix of the On30 layout!

(burp) Excuse me. Italian Sweet Sausage on the grill. Fried potatoes and Bushs Grillin' Beans. The Bourbon and Brown Sugar ones. Not too fond of that particular recipe. Actually the sausage was off the grill when we ate it. Haven't trried the Strawberry Rhubarb Crunch thing yet. Taking a break.

Vincent- Did she deserve it? Yes. Should you have done what you did? No. I've wanted to do that many times, but when you are hunting someone down your mind is focused too much on that one driver and not the rest. You'd be surprised at what you didn't see. Besides, if your luck is anything like mine.... you'd be the one the cop would catch and "she did this first" to get her in trouble too, hasn't worked since I passed the age of 8. Lecture over. Oh do I know well the people who feel that the drainplug and the oil filter must be as tight as a lugnut.

Evening all. Yes, Janie, I AM making an appearance!

No need to worry guys, I'm (mostly, more on that a little later) fine. In addition to having no time, my computer decided to take a trip down the crapper AGAIN, so I haven't had a computer for a while.

Other than THAT, things have been pretty good around here.

Having a good time at lax, even though we're still losing. We lost the first round of counties yesterday, so we're out, but we still have 5ish regular games left.
I couldn't play in the county game (and of course, I was SUPPOSED to start, so much for THAT). Cause I got cross checked in the chest during Friday's game. The trainer said the ribs are bruised, but probably not fractured, so THAT's good, although it still hurts a hell of a lot. I think I'll be good for Tuesday's game, and we'll see how it goes from there.

Also went to see my school's spring musical (Kiss Me Kate) last night. It was excellent. I have a lot of friends who were in it, and they were great. Congrats to them.

Not going to practce tomorrow cause we're making our Confirmation. Fortunately, THAT'll be one less thing I'll have to do.

Prayers for all in need (and for those who don't need them as well, because everyone really does).

Well, I can't stay forever, so I'm gonna hafta go. Dunno when I'll be back in, so I'll catch ya guys later.

Todd ... That's a great haul of scenery stuff! I have to wonder why it was at a garage sale so cheap.

The story I got was this kid, who Brenda said looked to be 17 or 18, s dad has a layout in the basement. Supposedly a good sized one (I wish I'd gone with her) and said he could have this extra stuff to sell at the garage sale. He must be done and doesn't know anyone who also has a railroad nor does he belong to a club or I would think he would give or sell for pennies on the dollar to them. I'm guessing surely they would have tried to sell some of that stuff for more earlier on as Brenda showed up just about an hour before the sale was to end. She started out by just asking him how much he wanted for the whole lot and he said $10 She knows the stuff is expensive to buy and didn't have the heart to haggle any on such a cheap price. She knows to ask HO and did ask about cars and such, he said the layout was HO but he said no they were in the basement and his dad didn't want to get rid of any. Sometimes I wonder what his dad said when he told him he got 10 dollars for it all.Angry

well, had some more fun with the camera. tried to help the lighting, but with a desk lamp and another lamp you can only do so much; I really need some better lighting equipment!
Dern, NO ONE is downtown today!

DANG living by the ANRR is good! Here we got an excellent shot of U23B #6330

Another shot of the 6330:

A rather artsy shot:

looking down the long hood:

Finally, we saw an extra pulled by GP9 #3. the old 3 rarely leaves the yard, so this was a treat!
