"Coffee paaa lease~ I truly need something."

I wish I knew what has struck me.  Was it a another trip to the hardware store?  One more expensive trip to the hobby store?   I had enough energy to do one of those a day.  Day 2,  today,  I have come back from the hobby store with 8 Peco's Insulufrogs.. or what ever they are called.  Just the thought of spending that amount of money 4 days until Christmas is enough to send me into a coma ..of.."I need to lay down for awhile" syndrome. Where's the remote control .. and my recliner?  I can only says its the season.  No no,  not the holiday season.  The Season.

The Season,  as in Yule-tide.  You know, Yule tide greetings.. don't you?  Tis the season!  Yes,  tomorrow is the Winter Solstice,  and I for one shall greet this with great euthusiasm.  Now getting back to the "I gotta lay down.. take a nap"  .. I think its more natural.  Hey, my body is saying.. 'time for hybernation'.  I come from a long line of German farmers.  Its only natural for me to celebrate what has been going on .. oh.. since 4th century.. Germanic Tribes gathering together to celebrate the Festival,  the Winter Solstice or Yule Tide.  They gathered together every year celebrating the miraculous return of Light after the longest night.   Its a rebirth, a new beginning, and the wonder of stepping from Darkness into the Light.  Sure I'm gonna build a fire,  why not?  Maybe a story or two~

Now as far as my layout is concerned.  I just came back with 8 Peco's for 137 bucks..OTD.  " I gotta take a nap" ... lol...  But now, I have the final pieces of wood that I have bought from the hardward store as well.. and glues.. so.. Here We Go~

Robby, Jeanne and I enjoyed your post of driving in the snow.  As I read it I could imagine you in the car, I could see the slow motion in effect with the sudden pain in the chest... and almost hear the "Oh shee.. oh shheee"  "Oh my God~" and a  "Jesus!"  I was awaiting each word as I read it.  On a personal note, I would never try to go to work in those conditions.. I think you should have a good phrase to use next time.  Like maybe ..

"I really would like to~ but Not this time."

"Boss .. check the weather channel"

"Well boss, don't be too hastily here,  there may be others to fire, I'm willing to come into to work tomorrow, when it clears up."

Jeff, I'm glad things are looking up.

Jim, I never got back to you,  Bachmann makes the curved rerailers.  I didn't buy them, yet, its not the highest priority on my list.  They have this plastic road bed to them under the tracks, and the salesman didn't know if they separated.  Maybe later.

Jim and Der John, I can't remember what has taken place here.. but if I remember correctly,  concerning the ground throws.. I really don't think I have the room for them.  Maybe in one of the other staging areas,  but I have only so much space,  its almost turnout to turnout.  Now you wouldn't happen to have the site,  I found it here once,  it had pics of the caboose ground throws and how to attach them.  I couldn't find it.  But I did look briefly.   I have the ground throws already, at least 4 packs if not more.  I did look for the post for a tad, couldn't find it, perhaps you know.. ?

Now I've got to get to work here.  If I go out and buy 8 streamline Peco's .. I better start laying them out to make the wife happy.  "Shaken the bush Boss!,  Shaken the Bush!"  nah.. j/k.

Keith.....I called the boss today to see if I have to come in early.  He did ask if I was ok, and not hurt.  I said I was fine, but the guys car isn't.  He didn't say much after that.  I might talk more to him tomorrow, and tell him.......If I can't make it, I can't make it.    Plus my wife was pretty upset when I called and told her I was in a wreck.  I should tell him that and see what he says.

Sawyer....... Steelers 21 - Packers 14.  Its a pretty good game.  Grant is shut down thou.  Ben has been sacked about twice now, and Rogers has been on his back a lot.

Hey ya'll!! Just some pepperoni pizza for me.

Work went well today. I busted the Saint's fans chops about losing to the Cowboys, right after he was talking smack. I bet him $20 that the Saint would loose before the regular season was over, he still owes me.  I'm watching the Packers/Steelers game, of course I'm pulling for the Packers.

Garry, I haven't though about going into the railroad field with drafting. There are a lot of Aerospace and military companies around here looking for that. But then again, I kind of want to get away from the south.

Sawyer, If I remember right, Rugby is kind of inbetween football and soccer. Haven't actually played it though.

Hello everybody ...

Looks like the diner is a bit quiet. Why? Possibly, some Diners have not completed their Christmas shopping, and now they are doing it. .... Nah ... Not the chow hounds... right?

Vincent .... I hope the jobs outlook brightens when you are through with school, and you can find what is best for you.

I'm glad to see a few are here.  I'll just sit in the corner booth and relax ....

I had a little mrr time this afternoon. I have owned some FT units made by Stewart for a long time. It is an ABBA set. They are unpainted, and it will be quite while before I'm done with them. Too many non-model-railroad activities.

Garry, I hope so too, especially since I only need 4 classes for my associates. As for christmas shopping, I just give everyone in my immediate family a $10.

I might do some MRRing tonight, probably will do a bunch tomorrow after my jury selection. I'll probably cut some of the wood off of the salvaged table to make a stand for my test track. That way I can use it as a run-around on my table layout. Then I may give gleaming a try, and do some weathering.

Hi Flo, how about a refill on my RBF, please? Thanks, you're a peach!

Blazzin
Now as far as my layout is concerned.  I just came back with 8 Peco's for 137 bucks

Keith, Keith, my good man... FIRST, #1 rule for buying Peco turnouts - unless you consider it your personal job to stimulate the economy of your LHS (and whoever the LHS owner patronizes with his/her money), WAIT! Watch the Walthers sale flyers each month (you should subscribe, on their website, if you aren't already receiving those). When the Peco Insulfrog turnouts show up as on-sale (yep, check the regular vs. sale prices, sometimes the tricky elves in Milwaukee put stuff in the flyer that is NOT on sale (but you can tell by the lack of another price than what they want to sell the item to you for...). As I was saying, ONCE the Insulfrog turnouts you want are in the flyer and on-sale, take the flyer with you to the LHS and ask them for (whatever quantity of) RH and/or LH turnouts you want, at the on-sale price (NOTE: that last part is very important for your pocketbook). The Pecos are not cheap (hey, they're imported! Wink), so save where you can (maybe even check online, aka not-so LHSes, and order from one of the better known and bigger ones like Internet Hobbies, M.B. Klein, or others that the Diners here have dealt with. Your wallet definitely will thank you!

Garry, aren't you having family at your place for Christmas this year? How're the preparations going for that? And how is your shopping coming along, by the way?

Vincent, it might be a while before your Saints fan pays you. Depends on how long it takes him to get out of his depression over the loss(es)...Smile,Wink, & Grin

About time for me to head home. Stay warm and as healthy as possible, and I'll try to check back with you in the morning, depending on how busy things are (or aren't) at w**k.

Blessings and prayers,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

I got a nap!!!!! I got a nap!!!!! I GOT IN A NAP!!!!! YeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaww!!!

Hot Chocolate please and some Snickerdoodle cookies. Oh about 6 thank you.

Did some visiting after church. Went and seen Mom at the rehab place. (Nursing Home ya know) She's doing much much better thank you for the prayers. Then ate at the local Asian booofay, I love the first conversation we always have. "Heellooo. Two? Boose or table?" "Could we get a Booth instead?" " Boose?" " A Booth" "Boose? Yes, this way" (leads to booth motions with hand) "Boose OK?" "Oh, well, I s'pose this'll be fine. Looks close enough to booth for me" "Could I get a Pepsi?" "No Pes-see. Coke OK?" "Yeah that'll be fine. Don't know I'd like Pes-see." I don't mean it badly and I don't mean to be mean, They're very nice there, but I always get a kick out of that little exchange. I can't help it. Brenda on the other hand I do believe is a bit tired of it. Anyway, came home and ......Zzz. I found out, it had s**wed.

Flip- Someone once told me, and I can't remember who, but they said something that took me a while to get. You‘ll never really laugh, until you‘ve laughed at yourself.

DerJohn- Oysters? Yup Todd's like Oysters. Only if they are cooked though. Can't take 'em raw. A good Oyster Stew sounds good about now.

Sawyer- (saying in a scrunched up nose whiney voice while shaking head side to side) "I don't own one of them Optivisor magnifying things. I can see just fine." You just wait. You just wait young man, your time is coming.Smile,Wink, & Grin

Robby- I have two thoughts. One is, tell the guy about your wife and I doubt if he cares she's upset. Thought two makes me feel bad about thought one. He's basically a good guy, just under a lot of pressure being so busy this time of year. Talking to you, he gathered you were OK and well, the timing wasn't the greatest, but he needed to know if he was going to need someone else or be short handed. And as far as wanting you to come in in the first place, well you'd think he'd know you by now to know you aren‘t the type, but I'm sure you've seen plenty of folks who don't need much of an excuse not to come in to work. They can really stretch the situation.

And on the memory stuff. I am young enough now to still have an excellent memory, but some things still evade me and disappear into the distant travels of an Irishman and a wonderful little fellow by the name of Hank. Hank found out one day that he..... Uh,...um... What was I saying? Hmm. I guess it wasn't all that important. I suppose I'll make some coffee and visit the train room while the cabbage soup heats.

GOOD Evening!

*Looks at the resident Green Bay fans, grins*

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Steelers WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, yeah, it was by the hair of their.....chiney chin chins...BUT they pulled it off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*does Snoopy dance, realizes back still hurts from yesterday's firefighting*

OW....Chloe? Flo? Janie? Whomever/whichever...could you look please, and see if there is STILL an air-pack on my back...sure feels like it is. No? Hmmmmm. OK, welp, I'll take a couple of the BARRY greaseburgers please 'n thank-you...

SAWYER: TODD beat me to it young grasshopper...just wait. Just wait young'un, someday THAT N-sane scale will seem microscopic. I'm only 40, but some of the little stuff in HO is enough to make me about go cross-eyed.

JIM: Yup, the tree comment was meant as a compliment. IF I had a scanner handy, I'd tack up a pic of what I had then. The shell survived just fine...as did the paint! Confused I don't get it. I soaked one side, it came off fine, as almost always, using brake fluid. The other side, has been soaking for a week, in fresh brake fluid...and while "thinner," the paint is still more or less there, and not coming off with the usual toothbrush scrubbing. Maybe it's just been too cold up here in my office/RR w**k room for it to do it's thing... The paint is close to a very light primer gray, so I may just hit the other side and call it good as a base for my ever changing "weathered IC orange." Then, I'll have three IC orange hoppers sitting waiting for decals. Eventually, they will get IC markings, and be patched for the Chicago Central. A block of grain cars to sit in the future CC yard. Also, three "foobies" converted to something more..."right looking."

ROBBY P: I would just ask the boss what possible good you would do the company if you were laying in the snow-filled ditch hurt or worse... I had to drill THAT into my thick-skulled nimrod of a boss when I was at the home healthcare place. Telling her about Loving Wife's worries only made her look like one of those cat clocks: the ones with the big eyes THAT move left, right, left, right and the big mouth of teeth... her usual expression when she didn't have a clue what to do. In other words, her standard mode of operation!

I finally convinced her THAT if it was safe for me to travel, I would make my best effort to report for work. But, when the IDOT is screaming "travel not advised," and/or the highway is otherwise impassible, or it takes me an exceptionally long time to make it to Stanwood (first town west, 6 miles away); then I would NOT be coming in. And she would just have to deal with it.

In my case, responding to weather-related accidents, having been the one lying in the ditch bloody (fire engine rollover), and ***-near losing Loving Wife to a patch of black ice...I've got a little different perspective on winter weather driving than most.

I'm gonna have me a seat at the RC...slam down these greasebombs...and some of THAT dreaded ibuproffen...KEITH, ya might wanna look the other way for a minute there Pal...this ain't gonna be pretty for you to see!Whistling

Good Sunday evening Diners: We dodged another winter (OK, solstice lovers - late Fall) storm. Yarmouth and area has had the tail end of that monster which was stalled over the Eastern Seaboard, and we have about an inch of mixed snow and ice pellets to clear off the steps tomorrow morning. Rain most days next week, "they" say. Certainly improbable that we will have a white Christmas.

The presents are all wrapped, even Kris' stocking, as of 5:00 pm. today - so no Christmas Eve rush as has been my habit over too many years, Can it be that I am catching Kris' organizational skills?

The yard ballasting has been further delayed - and that's a good thing really. Once I had a good look at the paint on the rails I saw that there were many places where the paint was uneven / too thin. Also, there were gaps in the rails at joins, mostly at turnouts, that should be filled in for optimum tracking of the cars. So I filled those with plastic pieces super-glued in place, and trimmed where necessary on the inside of the rail. This is a look at both the thin paint and some filled gaps. Then I brush painted those and all the thin spots in the rail paint I could see. Doubtless there are some I missed, but the overall effect is much improved. Cleaned the railheads in the entire yard using my handy-dandy railhead cleaner thingy Then I made a manual turnout control  for the turnout at the throat. The Peco switch there is hidden behind scenery,  but I don't have a motor for it, and a manual control is far easier to install, what with the removable "mini-backdrop" and all.

Keith: You may be interested in just how simple and small-compared-to-a-ground-throw this wire approach for controlling Pecos is. It relies on the Peco's spring action, and works very well. Time will tell if the knob will stay in the wire (super-glue again), or if I have to find a more solid attachment for it.

Lee: Can't remember if I answered your question, but yes thanks, the card came a few days ago.

Sawyer:

Ah, so no blocking for the ball carrier then?
...and no forward passing, ONLY back. No "downs" either. Play continues until the ball goes off the side of the field, or there is an infraction, or a touchdown; which is called a "Try". At least, that's how things were 55 years ago. Your coach will have the latest rules. When we played there were no helmets, just a leather cap to protect the ears. No padding, just shirt and shorts. Enjoy!

CapeJim:

I've changed my default image size to about 1600X1200,
...I have a smallish card in the camera, but keep the pixels at 4 Meg so as to be able to crop just about anything I need to for close up views in larger images. That's one reason I delete once uploaded.

Time once more for bed. Goodnight all, and God Bless. Prayers continuing for all in need of Healing, Comfort, Prosperity and Peace.Angel

Just came up from Toddland (of which I'm king) and driving myself crazy making a couch. My how time flies when I'm down there. Anyway, after experiencing preeetty much all the little inconveniences Flip described, in addition to just plain not being that good, I've decided that green putty will solve most of my problems. Hopefully. I still haven't decided if I want to block off the back big window or not. I wouldn't be able to see th outside of the window and I think it would look better than the inside of a window even if I got curtains, but I kinda like the openness of the big windows. I don't know. maybe I'll try to keep it open and if it doesn't work I can always block it off.

I'm also getting concerned about Ulrich.  Even if Petra was a bit computerish, would she know or think to let us know? I mean everyone here is like buddies sitting at the back table of any given diner in any given small town, telling stories and solving the worlds problems.

Prayers for those in need.

 Good Morning,

I am home - if only for the holidays.

I spent the last week in hospital. Petra found me flattened out on the floor, unconscious. It was not until last Tuesday, until I woke up. Since then, they have been running a series of tests, which will continue after Christmas, as they have not yet found the reason. I still feel a little numb and funny in my head and do have problems sorting my speaking, but it is good to be home.

Just in time for the season we have that wet n´ white stuff covering the land, but also the roads. No snow plow available in this region-

A very Merry Christmas to all of you - may God bless you all!

Good morning all,

Jeff, have you thought about a external hard drive for back-ups?  The enclosures are fairly cheap at about $12 and then you add your own hard drive.
Jim, I didn’t get any trouble shooting done.  I bought a dozen 12x12 train logo signs, clear coated them and hung them on the wall of the train room.  Then I made a 10x10 LS&W logo to hang along with them.  I also made a few new molds for gondola loads.

Ulrich, hope the docs find out what happened and we wish you a speedy recovery.   Saturday I went to a new train show, should have stayed in bed; $7 to get in and most of the vendors prices were the same as the Walther’s catalog.  Some of the “vintage” HO stuff was Horribly Overpriced.  I’m sorry but 1970-1980’s TYCO will never be vintage to me, not when they made 55 million of everything. I did find a nice Ontario Northland and an Indiana Harbor Belt Ahearn 40FT box car.

Good morning.  Its cold and snowy.  About a inch today, and I can't wait for it to melt.

Went into work this morning 4:15am and only worked two hours.  To me thats kinda pointless, but whatever.   The other workers thought I called off, but they were in shock to find out I was in a wreck.   Well three more nights to go.

Ulrich......Good to hear from you, and I hope you get better.

Well I will pop back in later.

Good Morning All,

a regular and a coffee roll please Zoe - to go . Still catching up from the weekend - lurked hee a bit but stayed pretty busy doing house stuff. Still haven't epoxy coated the new section of floor, but have sorted through a pile of storage boxes, cleaned soot stained stuff and gotten some more lighting up in the living room and front porch. We only got about 6" of light fluffy sn.w but flights are all messed up. I got my Florida flyin home ok, but the lad who lives in Charlottesville had a connector in Philly and nerer got out of the White Plains airport. Finally got him a renta wreck at 7pm last night and he started the long drive home as rebooking are running into next weekend. No progress on the MRR front yet but if i keep plugging away on the house I should be in good shape come spring.

Ulrich - that's some scary stuff. Hope the docs' figure it out and you get better soon. Our paryers for you and Petra.

Robby - that was a close one. Sounds more like your super is concerned and just not really adept at communication. Most of us boss type people would prefer that you remain healthy and in one piece - the w..k will eventually get done and the reaming from the higher-ups we get for missing quotas only hurts for a bit. When I w..ked at Cheeseborough Ponds we got that a lot, but the bosses that tried to be bullies never lasted long.

Enough for the soap box, I have my own w..k to get to. Catch y'all later,  J.R.

Good Afternoon All,

Flo, I´ll have a mug of hot cocoa, please.

I just had a lengthy telephone conversion with my doc. They call what happend to me a catatonic stroke, which is similar to a real stroke, but does not involve a broken vessel in the brain. It is a psychomotoric failure, which can involve the entire body. This explains to a degree why I have problems to speak. There are words, which I just cannot pronounce properly right now. I hope this will go away. The docs still have no clue why this happened to me. My guess it is my inability to cope with the situation. All I can say now that it scares the hell out of me.

I am so happy that our son is joining us. He will arrive on Wednesday and stays until Sunday. A comforting thought to have the "little one" with us for some days. He is right now entering his bachelor degree´s exams - quite a chore! We are also eager to met his "new" girlfriend... Smile

It feels so good to be back!

Good morning. It's 33 and sunny. The high will be in the mid 60's and it will be partly cloudy.

I seem to have picked up some kind of bug. I hope it's of the 24 hour variety and will soon be gone. There's nothing of importance going on today so I'll likely just be laid back with my feet up.

Hope you get better soon Ulrich. Strokes are no fun.

Mornin' everyone!

ULRICH!!!  You're back!  Good to see you sir, we've been worried that something had happened to you, and I guess something did......  Good thing that Petra was there to get you help!  Hope you make a full recovery and have no further episodes.

Zoe I'll have a bowl of OF cereal and my cup of dark roast this morning.  I'll be harassing Barry at the Rivet Counter for a while.

Think I better get the rest of my Christmas Shopping done today.....  Only 4 more days of advent (counting today) before sundown on the 24th........................  THAT reminds me, I still have to find 2 more ushers for the Christmas Eve Service (late service at 8:30PM - we're Presbyterians, what can I say....).  Not only THAT, but I still have to find 3 more people for Sunday the 27th., aka: the Third Day of Christmas to usher.......  December is always a fun month tobe Head Usher.  Perhaps THAT is why nobody else signs up for it in Deacons?  I called one lady on the list to usher a few days ago, and she said, "don't think I can as I'm sitting on the beach here in Miami........."  Getting back to the shopping, all I have left to shop for is my granddaughters...  I'll be hitting the LHS this afternoon to see if they have any "I Love Grandpa's Trains" shirts in the right sizes and probably some other, "Train" oriented stuff for them.  (Gotta raise them right!)

I best get myself under motion, or another day will go by without my getting things done!  Later!

Good morning, I think I'll grab a stack of pancakes with REAL butter this morning...and a bucket of coffee please 'n thank-you.

ULRICH! Welcome back Pal!!!! As has been noted, we were more than a little bit worried about you. Give your wife a big hug from all of us for finding you/getting help. Somedays, I think mine would consider just closing the door....Whistling Not to worry though, Rerun would surely come to my rescue. Heck, he'd probably drag me out to my pickup truck and drive me in himself... Yep. Sure he would.

Speaking of Loving Wife, she's on vacation starting today. Two weeks of having her here night and day and night and day... I told Rerun we'd have to cancel the crazy parties for awhile.... She's still snoozing whilst I'm upstairs in my office. I still have w**k to do for the week. THAT has Wednesday as deadline for our Dec. 30th issue. She'll get wrestling pics/article, two school board stories, and maybe a small basketball write-up or two. THAT will make THAT happy.

JEFF: I use Carbonite.com for my back-up, around $50/year. My 'pooter has everything I've ever done for w**k on it plus thousands of photos and almost 800 songs in iTunes. I don't have to remember to back anything up...it does it automatically. I've lost my hard drive twice...don't want to go through THAT again.

LEE: Interesting observations on the train show. "Vintage Tyco." Laugh I guess THAT seller buys-in to the "it's old it's worth lots of money" myth. I'm sure somebody is willing to pay for the "vintageness" however. I'm already starting to see Athearn blue box prices creeping up on "theBay."

Buyer, beware.

Have a good, SAFE day everybody, Rerun and I will stop back in later...might even let him drive...

Good morning

Ulrich (good afternoon to you) ..... Like all the other diners, I've been concerned about you. Prayers for your full recovery. I'm glad you will have your son and his girl friend visiting. Best regards from the diners to Petra. We're all glaad she is there for you.

Jeff .... I recall owning one of those Deep Rock, 3 dome tankers long ago. It's a real classic. You probably haul other commodities than bulk geritol in that one. Prayers continue for your health problem.

Rob .... Now that I've looked up "sarcoidosis" in WebMD, I am deeply concerned about you. Prayers for your full recovery. I suggest other diners should also learn about the disease. All of us are pulling for you.

JimCG .. Actually, it was Thanksgiving when we had a full house. We will have biref visit to Cincinnati for Christmas. We'll be back on the 27th. I have medical appointments in Nashville on the 28th. Jim, what are your plans?

It does not seem like a normal Christmas here. We never got a chance to put up our main Christmas tree. (We have a tiny tree on a table.) The Lionel trains will not be on Christmas tree duty this year, and Shelley's very nice ornaments remained boxed.  Perhaps, I'll run the Lionel trains without the tree in January.

On the railroad, I'm working on my FT's. I'm working on DCC installations. I am assembling three more coke cars for the steel mill.

Cheers, everybody.

Actually, very possible.  The lady I was calling is actually in Florida, and I did call her home (here in Geneva) number.  They have a deal where they can either forward all calls to the cell phone, or the cell phone has the same number as the home phone. Confused

Chris, one of the hazards of living alone is if anything happened to me where I can't help myself, I may not be found for a week or so.  I think one of the big reasons people go into independent living places is the security of having people around, checking on them.........

Got to hang up some laundry down cellar.....  (Hope I don't fall down the stairs.........) Whistling

Yep, happens more often than you may care to think about. I had a Grandpa who died that way...the guys at the coffee shop thought it was odd when he didn't come in one day, a little more than strange the next, thought maybe he was sick on day three...finally sent someone to go check on him around day four or five. He'd been dead for a few days.

Dark humor I know, but I used to joke about the same fate befalling me in my single days. I always figured I'd slip in the tub/shower, crack my head, and be found dead a week later...squeaky clean, but deader than a doornail.

My favorite uncle farms in Kansas. Since he lives alone, he's decided to be a lot more careful in what he does/how he does things.

It happens.

Hey RAY? Make sure those stairs are well-lit, with secure railings. No running on the stairs young man....

Last night all was quiet in the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse (if I had one) until the blasted trouble alarm on my wound vac started going off every 20 minutes indicating the darn thing had sprung a leak somewhere. Up from my bed I did arise and almost required a spatula to get off the ceiling due to my surprise. I examined the adhesive plastic overwrap on my foot and found a small leak near the two outermost toes. I cut a small piece (3" x 5") of the stuff and applied it so it overlapped the area of the leak. The pump in the unit slowed down but did not stop. This indicated still another leak. I pressed down on first one part of the overwrap and then another until the pump stopped. I had found the other leak. I quickly cut another piece of the adhesive plastic and applied it in the same way as the first. The pump at last stopped except for it's routine cycle. In all, an hour had passed from the time the alarm went off. Oh for 5 minutes in a locked room with the guy who invented that thing.

Hey ya'll

I went to report for Jury duty (why have a trail on the week of christmas???) and was got on the final round of jury selection. Whew...

I'm at home right now, and am giving the gleam process a go. I must say I'm pretty impressed with the results so far. I deviated from the usual practice, and use 600, then 1500 grit sandpaper before the stainless washer. I have yet to see if it helps steel track, and have no brass track to see if it helps it.

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
