Okay you are allowed one loco, one piece of rolling stock and one structure. What's it going to be????
For me. 1. A nice C.P.R. steam loco. A mikado or Pacific. Maybe something from Division point.
2. A heavywieght C.P.R baggage car or coach.
3. A really nice grain elevator kit.

I already know what Santa is bringing... I had a conference with him several days ago. It seems I've been big into themed Christmas presents for the past few years. A couple years ago was my MBTA Christmas. Last year was my Claremont-Concord Railroad Christmas, and this year I'll be getting an RS3 with paints decals and a decoder to turn it from N&W to LVRC!

Well, for my loco I'll take a GG-1. 1:1 scale of course.
I'll take a permanently-coupled 5-car passenger set as my rolling stock
And the whole Northeast Corridor as my structure...
Hmm:
Okay, for the locomotive, a brass SP MT-2 4-8-2
Rolling stock: A 3-unit articulated SP "Daylight" diner
Structure: A 120' turntable (and space to install it).
Oh: HO scale of course. Though 1:1 wouldn't be too bad, would it?

Would that run on both DCC/DC?
It's an odd sensation, but I have no list of "just gotta have" items this year. Is being content with what I already have sufficient grounds for having to return my Model Railroader Membership Card?

Well, let's see:
loco: SW1 by Walthers or in brass; I'm not picky.... Prefer undecorated.
rolling stock: Stock car lettered for GTW
Building: Slaughter house/packing plant kit with stockyards!
Can you guess what one of my upcoming projects is going to be? Merry Christmas everyone!

Same here-- my wife and I asked each other what we want for Christmas and we're both still scratching our heads... maybe I'll get her a head-scratcher.
1: BLI NW2 or SW7 with sound/dcc in BN. (I have an SP one and am impressed, I just one a BN switcher)
2: Accurail partially enclosed autorack
3: a ready-built Turntable capable of handling an AB set of F-units.
I know I'm getting a BN Big Sky Blue (GN patch) GP20 with sound/dcc. I'm gonna try to make #1 happen for myself by selling the SP NW2.
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Merry Christmas Peoples.
Hmmm now lets see.
1. A Union Pacific Steam engine(I already got electric and diesel.)Edit:I really don't care about the specific engine. I can't find any steam engines nowadays.
2. Union Pacific Tender.(It would go well with the steam engine.)
3. A good sized clapboard or brick station(my old station is small and can't keep up with the growth.)
1. Brass Missabe SD-M (But id settle for a 2-8-8-4 :)
2. Brass GN Business Car (I'l trade someone an Overland UP City of San Fransico!)
3. Walthers Diesel House

Get two and I'll take the other!
1. It's not like I don't already have too many locos, but how to choose just one..... W&R NP 4-6-6-4 Z-62. An American Model Builders ATSF sidedoor Waycar kit.3. FSM JS-6 Skinner's Row.
I'll have to deviate from the prescribed list as Santa (well, at least Mrs Claus...er Keil) is bringing a new Digitrax Super Chief so that pretty much busted the limit for anything else!

I second the above! I've wondered, if we could get everyone to stop fighting for one day, would we decide to try for two, then three, then...
...well, decades and centuries are made of days.
One of Linn Westcott's columns was about how our hobby could be a prototype for world peace, because we model railroaders are so good at problem solving and getting along.
This year Christmas came early for me. They closed the manufacturing plant where I worked in August, and - here's the Christmas part - I start my new job next Monday! HR Manager for a mortgage company. It feels good to be back among the living.
Trainwise, my three wishes would be for a brass steam loco that needs a mom (so I can breathe new life into it), a great LaBelle boxcar kit (36' please), and a dusty old Campbell's railroad station kit.
Icing on the cake would be a Jordan's Highway Miniatures model T roadster pickup kit in my stocking.
Here's to 2010 being the best year of the 21st century, for all of us!

I resemble that!
Thanks to 44+ years of astute buying, every square on my locomotive roster is filled in. Ditto for EMU, DMU, passenger and freight cars. OTOH, nobody, anywhere, makes kits for the structures I measured and photographed in Japan in the 1960s. (I suspect that many of them were built without plans...)
A functional replacement for this deteriorated hip might be nice...

... just a job for me, so I can make a living on my own. Living off social security checks is no fun, wherever you are on the world. But at 53, this will remain a wish in Germany.
My wishes for the world?
A little more respect for our fellows, an end to all those unnecessary conflicts, so we can start to battle the real challenges we face today.
Hi from Belgium
Loco: One Walthers/Life Like Nscale Y3 2-8-8-2 of course with sound.
Cars: New heavy weight consist from Micro Trains in Nscale.
Structure: One skyscrapper from Custommodelrailroads/CMR in Nscale.
There are just the three in your choice because the list is a never ending one......
Have a nice day......
Marc
My list includes things that won't be available at Christmas time or don't exsist yet.
1. HO Intermountain ESS44AC in BNSF with sound (not available til March)
2. HO modern reefer car (doesn't exsist yet)
3. Some time to complete my train station (no work, although it would be nice to get paid for building it myself)
Will

umm let me think chuck.....could it be an Auto Industry since youre modeling the Motor City? LOL
My wish list..
Kato SD70M Norfolk Southern horsehead scheme 2600 numbered series.
I will be happy with 8 coal or Auto racks in the CR/NS (coal) names or any 90's+ (autoracks) roadname
Flood Loader, not western, more of the square eastern type.
A medium-sized steamer, maybe a Mohawk or Pacific, with sound and DCC. It's got to look good on 18-inch curves, theough.
An old tank car, appropriate for the 1930's.
The Earl Smallshaw "Tenement Row" kit.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Hi!
Model Railroad stuff has been a mainstay for my Christmas / Birthday for literally decades. Yet, this is the first year I can't produce an "endless" list of wants, mainly because I pretty much have all I want/need in that area. Actually, there is stuff I want, but it isn't produced (yet?)......
Locomotive - A "yet to be produced" BLI Paragon ATSF Hudson or Pacific DCC w/sound
RR Car - A Walthers IC baggage car, and a "yet to be produced" Walthers IC RPO
Structure - Can't think of any - may I substitute vehicles???
Vehicles - A CMW collection of '50s Pontiacs, and a "57 Black Ford Fairlane convertable with red interior and white top, with the "T-Bird" 312 ci motor and the special "V" trim on the front bumper.
Hey, if I were Santa Clause, you all would have your MR wishlist order waiting for you by your tree on Christmas morning!!!!!
