Thanks Taylor! Guess you didn't see the link above, but I'll post the sketch anyway:
EDIT: It's STILL not showing up (not sure why), so I'll post the link again.

And that sucks about being hurt, but at least you have some time off. Last year, when I got a concussion in lacrosse, I had the "honor" of being my coach's slave for a month...

Taylor, rained today a bit too, though it looked almost like snow; acted that way anyways.

Hey Everyone,

Been so busy lately with soccer that I havent had time to go on here but am injured so now I do.

Joe, The paint scheme sounds cool, I bet it would look really nice on them.

Sawyer, Ha lucky you rain, it hasn't rained here in months!

They're miniatronics 0.7mm bulbs in drilled out Details Associates 1013 castings. They will be wired to a decoder by the person I painted the unit for, and he hasn't yet bought a Tsunami for it.

The ditch lights look great, Alex. What brand type/brand of bulbs did you use and are they wired to a decoder?

looks like a good paint scheme, but like GG said, have fun with the curve.

I spent maybe an hour or two today soldering, since it was raining out, and I finally have the whole yard wired up!

Have fun masking that curve...

Yeah, that's the only possible concern I have. But I think I have it figured out. And worst case scenario, I just scrap that plan and go for a simple green and white.

Here's the basic plan. This is a (very) rough sketch of the unit. I was lazy and didn't even want to bother with anything below the frame...
EDIT: It's not showing up, so here's the link:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/ns3010/4093711925

Note that the white curve isn't correctly shaped, and it will be even for the entire length. Unlike the BP4, the stripe will curve down and fade into the frame, instead of curving and continuing horizontally towards the rear end.

The colors are going to be CR Blue and BN Green. Also, the lettering will be white, but once again, I was lazy.

I'm also getting four Walthers 16K Funnel-Flow tank cars, as well as an airbrush. 2 for Christmas, and I'll buy the other 2 (so I get those earlier).
Also, I think I've come up with a paint scheme for my Atlas NRE 3GS-21B Genset (when it comes in in January). It will be a hybrid of the GE GEVO demonstrator scheme and NS BP4 scheme. The colors of the GEVO, in the BP4 scheme. Blue in the front (nose, cab, and below the curve, but probably a lighter blue than on the GEVO), and green in the back. White lettering, as well as the curved line (separating the blue and green). I'll post it if I get it drawn up.

My Badger model 250 is only good for laying down even base coats, but that's all I need out of it. Will probably get a much better one when I get a chance.

The compressor I use has a 6-gallon tank (i think), which is serious overkill. But it was "free" (my dad's friend lets me use it), so overkill or not, it works, lol.

if I need a compressor

Don't take my word for it (I have no experience with airbrushes), but I'd say it's all up to you.

I'm not going to use my airbrush all that often, so it's not worth it for me to invest in a compressor. Instead, I'll just use the propel cans, since as of now, that's more economical.

Hey Joe lucky you, 4 day weekend.

Sawyer, does your airbrush work good, cuz I would like to get one but don't know which brands are good or which models and if I need a compressor.

Guess who's finally getting an airbrush!! Not till Christmas, but I can wait, since I've been wanting to get one for a while already.
Maybe now I'll have money to start on the new layout. And buy some freight cars. (And other non MRR stuff).

Sawyer, Versus is one of those channels that you get with those huge digital cable packages. For example it is channel 408 for me. It's the only thing that shows lax, tho. Being close to NYC, the local hockey games (Devils, Rangers, Islanders) are usually on MSG.
And I'm clueless about the surprise. Is is that you've finally made up your mind? Jk, lol Big Smile

Joe, ESPN has college lacrosse during the playoffs.

As to the surprise, all in good time my friend.

Joe, What about Friday?

Four day weekend!! This is the teachers convention weekend. But, even though our teachers don't have it (Catholic school), we have off anyway.
Tonight is the Freshman/Sophomore Lock-In, but I'm not going (obviously!). Last year, it was 8-6 (overnight, they have stuff going on and a mass at midnight), but this year it's only 6-midnight. Basically only the Freshmen are going...

Joe, What about Friday? lol And lucky you, the closet hobby shop that is for trains is a 45min drive. The hobby lobby is a 20miin but I don't count hobby lobby.

Sawyer, you can go on and sometimes watch games. And still Nascar is boring. Sorry. Smile,Wink, & Grin

 It's the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, they won tonight!! 3-2 over the Capitals.
I'll brag about it to my Chem teacher on Monday, since she's a Sabres fan and hates the Devils.

Tyler, I know what those "surprise locos" that GG were talking about are! I'm jealous, I've wanted those since they were released, but never had the money to buy them!

And I found a LHS pretty close to my school (saw it as we walked into town after school today). Looks like it hasn't been there long, so I guess I'll have to stop in sometime.

Hey Sawyer

Ha not saying Nascar aint a sport but its so boring except for crashes. The stuff before the race is fun, when all the sponsors are handing out free stuff like shirts. Ha I like NFL, Mlb, pretty much any.

Whats the susprise?

Taylor

Eh, most people think it's boring. I used to. When you find out the physics, different lines arou8nd a race track etc., it gets interesting, b/c then you realize the racing that's going on. Also, it's a better sport than F1, they barely pass each other on the track.

All I'll say abt. the layout surprise; it involves the side opposite the yard.

My sports are the NFL and NASCAR (and for those who say NASCAR ain't a sport, go strap yourself into a car with abt. 100 degrees as the car temp (probably goes higher) and spend about 5 hours going 150-200 around a track racing with 42 other cars and being slammed around by the g forces), but I love the NHL as well. Don't have Versus though,. so there's rarely a game on TV.

As to my layout, have a surprise coming soon.

Taylor, if you're interested, my YouTube is the same as my screenname (ns3010).

I'm mostly a hockey guy (starts in a few weeks! Big Smile). I also like lacrosse (in the spring), but it's hard to follow because they don't show it on TV, and last year, they ended like, half of the teams in the MLL, so there's only 6 teams now!! I had a few friends who played for various teams, but their teams got cancelled last year, so they play for the Boston Cannons now. Indoor (NLL), they play for the New York Titans.
