Ed:
He was probably in his 30's when that movie was made, earlier whe nhe was about 20-something he was in an old black-and-white Western show.

Noah:
Your mind must be "frosted" over with the thought of money! (Very bad pun)[;)]

The only reason I like snow is that if you're going to have cold you might as well have snow, and it gets you out of school sometimes!![:D]

Not much going on over here in Illinois, had a bunch of rain after a few weeks without it, so now everything's cold and muddy. (Good for deer hunting--can see their tracks; bad for trainwatching--have to walk 1/2 mile thorugh muddy fields, then walk by small stream with woods around it to get to the railroad.)

Rawhide!!!! Great series, I think he played 'Rowdy' Yates.

Jonathon - looking for a response to my question regarding the photos you are looking for. See my last post.

Elliot - since we just crossed posts in Paul's post regarding photo size, I was curious to see if you saw my comments in my post at the end of page two of the Spelling thread. I thought that if you hadn't seen them, you wouldn't totally understand my 'scooped again' comment.

Hi Gang; I had intended that post to go to the coffee shop. It's all Gary's fault. We had the afternoon off so we got together to do some work on our AR-15 carbines. Putting on all the bad banned stuff. I figured since he was here I'd get some help on the 'puter.

Teffy; Gary's an ATSF fan too. Check out post on my test picture topic.

Noah; The temp is back up in the 90's. All you have to do is wait a few minutes here and the weather will change. I am hoping for some SNOW this year. We need the cold to kill off some of the bugs. The SNOW also puts more moisture in the ground than rain. The rain runs off, the SNOW slowly seeps in. I guess I'll have to join the rest of you in hiding now. Started something, didn't you Fergie?

Well I'm going to sign off, have to get up early tommrow. Good Night All

Noah [:D]

This is a copy and paste from a trains.magazine thread from over a year ago. The thread I searched for last night and finally found the link for it. The thread was on page 125. So I did some searching to find it.

Weather Update

Where is some of that warm weather NOW ?

I am freezing my FRED off. (Get it train joke there )

It is 29 right now and going down to 24 or so. This Southerner is cold.

A L E X Come get YOUR Alaska weather and take it back home with you.

Like Mikey said in another thread, it was in the seventies one day and zap -- freezing the next few hours. Remember what I said about the Almanac. Cold and snow predicted for this winter, alot of it. This may just be the start of this cruel winter season. I was walking the dog in a t-shirt and shorts just 2 days ago. Now you need a snowmobile suit just to step out the door and get the mail. BBBUUURRRRRR.

That was about November 25, 2003. There is some more things on page 10 of that thread you can read. I enjoyed that thread sooo much. We talked about things and now when I go back and read that thread I laugh over it all.

It was a fun thread but I guess I am confussed. There was a thread where I told a Jim Story about me and THE SKUNK. Do not confuse it with the current skunk thread about the skunk getting cut in two by the train. Those are two different threads.

Now I have some more searching to do but not tonight. I stayed up too late last night.

Going back to the tornado . . . I am still hearing stories and finding out info about it. One area called Sardis, has been hit by tornados about 3 times in the last 5 years. They were hit again Monday. South of me there was a lot of damage, many homes destroyed or damaged. I read one article where a lady said everything she now owns was in a small bucket she was holding. That just brings tears to my eyes to know how badly she feels. The weather this year has been terrible with all the canes and such. I feel very badly for all those people who have been touched by severe weather this year. Sometimes we just don't think about those things, but we all need to be thankful that we are ok and are safe. Don't think your lucky stars, thank the Creator for your safety. We may not understand the why or how but He is in control.

Should anyone read it a post in red is by Kevin's girlfriend. We used to call her "Me" because she was afraid to have her name put on the forums. Now we know her name but didn't then. This is Kevin from Canada not Kevin from Colorado.

To those who had wondered who Ed is, well he was one of the people in the thread talking about grits and other things.

Alex is Alaskaman. He is 17 or 18 and lives in (well you guessed it) Alaska. [:D]
If you have msn messenger you can talk to him when he is not in school or working.

Heh, guys, How about them Red Sox!!!!!!! [:D] [:D] [:D]

We've turned the playoff into a one game series. Now they don't need to worry about winning 4 in a row from the Yankees, they just need to win one. Today's game.

"Reverse the Curse"

More later, got to go walk the dogs...........................

I sure don't recall the comments so they couldn't have been that outrageous. Of course, maybe it's just that I wasn't the one offended. I thought fec153's comment was made as a joke.

Good Morning, I think I'll just have some ice cream. Two scoops please, in honor of my buddy Ed and his amazing Red Sox. Have you got coffee flavor? If not, how about chocolate chip cookie dough?

No Ed, I missed the one on the spelling. I went back and looked now. This isn't the first time something like this has happened. I've scooped Dave9999 a couple of times too.

I told Scratch B to keep his voice down over on CTT. He shouldn't wake the bambino.[:0][|)][;)]

Speaking of spelling, I got an email from Mark Deshane. He felt kind of bad for starting the spelling topic.

I just noticed that I goofed on the first post of this topic, "has seems"???? I think I meant seemed.[B)][:p]

Good Morning All:

It's great to be alive and well - I just feel good this morning.

Well I guess I'm going to have to take some pictures of the Almost Nothing and see about posting them in here. If a newbie like Paul can do it then I guess I'll have to learn. I wanted to get John to show me the procedure when we were visiting but we had so many other things to look at I forgot about the picture posting.

John:
Let me take some pictures and then we'll start at first base (that's for Ed) and then we'll go around and eventially (SP) get to home plate. Does everyone else understand? If we all get some pictires in the next several days we can all post them as the teacher tells us to do.

What did you mean about the "low car numbers"? You and Ed haven't seen car numbers in years on that Normal stuff, I'm beginning to wonder if they're on the Horabley Oversized stuff anymore.

Krump:
I thought your post was comical and I'm sure that Fla/Phils comment was with tongue in cheek. I've kidded about "get your mind out of the sewer and back up in the gutter with the rest of us" quite a few hundred times.

Fergie:
How does someone "forget about a turntable"? Boy, talk about alhimmers (SP).

S**w is only good if it can be skied on. I like the challenge of driving on it but I hate all those other idiots that don't know what it is. It's actually easier to drive a bus on s**w then a car because the longer wheelbase gives you better control.

I've got to go to work so
Have a blessed day and remember SANTA FE ALL THE WAY

'morning all: Another beautiful day on the Eaastern Shore. We were going to help a neighbour shingle his dormer windows.(Well, OK, not the windows so much as the spaces in between[:D]) Turns out to be a far more complicated than any of us had imagined, so he's going to phone for professional help[sigh]

Bob:
QUOTE: If we all get some pictires in the next several days we can all post them as the teacher tells us to do.
Away for a few days, so that should give you time to get your homework finished[(-D]

QUOTE: What did you mean about the "low car numbers"? You and Ed haven't seen car numbers in years on that Normal stuff, I'm beginning to wonder if they're on the Horabley Oversized stuff anymore.

These ones would work even in Z!![:O] They are the largest car numbers I've seen, I think. They've got to be about 12-18" tall on the prototype. (Fergie can correct this if I'm way off) I was maybe 75-100 yards from the crossing and had no trouble reading these numbers. I'm looking at one of my N BN hoppers now, and it seems to me the Letters for BURL etc. are about the proportion of these National Gypsum car numbers. Quite remarkable, I thought. didn't want to make such a meal of it though[:I]

Put new wheel sets on two passenger cars yesterday. Now one of them, a really free roller withthe new wheels, finds every little blemish on the tracks. It's a veritable gremlin maker!!![oX)]

I found our thread half way down page 2! Come on guys and Gal get with the program here!! Or it's Control, Alt, and Delete.

Anyway not much to tell except I spent the better day up a ladder painting real windows. I might get some train'n in tonight before West Wing, We'll just wait and see.

Teffy: Snow has its time and place! Just before Christmas, one drop that will last until March 1 then it's gotta go, city ordinance, you know.

Now Krump I personally took no offense to your whatever, bemused, but not offended. I'm sure I would find a use for it on the MESS, as I have been known to stick a vacuum in a tunnel from time to time to retrieve errant boxcars and track clogging dust bunnies, fierce little critters!!!

Yes John a gorgeous day accross the Province but painting had to take priority. The new gypsum cars are a far deal nicer then the old ones but off hand I can't remeber the markings.

I here Houston going to win the World Series 4 straight. Any truth to it boooooys?

See Yaa

Hi sports fans and politicos: This came in on a newsletter today. As you know, I'm officially rooting for theGBPs in order to keep my supply of Junior's cookies coming[;)]. So I was fascinated by the pre-election Monday Night Football forecast possibility this year. Thought you might be amused[:D] [8D] [}:)]
QUOTE: I received an email from my brother that just tickles me silly. Did you know that there is a 100% correlation between the Washington Redskins win/loss record and the outcome of the Presidential race?

Here’s the story: For the past 60 years, if the Redskins win their last home game prior to election day, the party in power stays in power. Conversely, if they lose the game, the incumbent party is on the street.

I’m serious.

Here are the stats:

2000: Tennessee 27, Redskins 21: Bush defeats Gore

Forget about depressions, forget about wars, forget about sex scandals, forget about the Electoral College. All you need to do is watch one football game every four years. This year the fate of the free world will be riding on the Redskins versus the Green Bay Packers on Halloween night.

I’m scared… how about you?

Now, who do you want me to be rooting for Big_Girl????

Fergie: I don't get to the forum through that route anymore. I just go to "Go" (next to Bookmarks on the Netscape toolbar thingy at the top of thte sceen), Then, "History", then scroll down to "The Coffee Shop", and choose the bottom entry, as its the youngest, and will be on the current last page (135 as of this evening.)
It's way faster in my experience than ploughing through the forum. To go to the forum from the Coffee Shop, I just navigate as usual.

Good Morning All:

Last night I went to the train room to work on the mailline and see if I could get it just a little more done. (It needs five switches, one double slip, and about forty feet of track laid.) When I got up their and saw what had to be cleaned off I decided to look at my new CMR turntable. I read the instructions about four times on vacation and was wanting to see how it would look, needless to say from 7:00 to 11:00 PM. I looked and now the bridge is about 90% complete. It should be through tonight if I can get in about another three hours. It is super simple to do, just do it, follow the instructions, and admire your handywork.

John and Ed:
I sure glad that we can jest at each other and no one gets their feelings hurt or we think that they are hurt. I know that some of my post have been re-written because I didn't think that it would come out as expected since their was no facal expessions (SP) to go with it.

Let's see 12-18" letters on prototype goes to 1/64" letters on Normal

Fergie:
If you were talking about the "fart" billboard - go ahead and post it. If it's clean enough for A J and Greg then it can go here.

I moved the location of the TT and now I don't have to have part of the pit off the layout so I don't know what I'm going to do because I like the idea of the pit wall comming down to the top of the pit rail foundation.

I told Mrs. "T" that it was depressing to go up to the train room after looking at all of the nice layouts on vacation and I don't have any scenery done and my second loop isn't done either. Here I am piddeling with the TT when I ought to be laying track.

I got your pictures, and I need your address, would you send it to me?

Well I couldn't get on the forum at home so I've been doing this at work and I've got a lot to do so -

Ya'll have a blessed day and remember SANTA FE ALL THE WAY

I must go on record and agree with Chris. I also like the Royals and Chiefs both from KC you know. I don't like the clowns from DC, and may not even watch their "game", but they only play it once every 4 years.

Now moving on . . . I have been having all kinds of computer trouble lately. Between my HP (with its own mind) and AOL I am about to go Postal. Yesterday when I posted the Resourceful Modeling thread, I never received a "Reply Posted" message. After 10 minutes (no joke, I walked the dog even during that time) all I had was a blank screen. Last night I could not even post here. When I tried to post I kept getting this message:

The site may no longer exist or it may have moved.

I think the Trains.com site was down for several hours this morning. Depressing yes, I tore down a mountain side last night and am now trying to piece rock molds together and make them look half realistic. Once done I'll post some more pics.
