Evening Gang:
Hi Lisa, good to see you back in here. I'm sorry to hear about all the problems on your side. Seems to be alot of that going on lately. I'll keep you and yours in my thoughts.
The doctor said that everything looked good from my tests. PSA was 6.6 with 6.5 being ideal. He said that's about as close as you can get.
After we got home we spent the afternoon clearing up a tree that had lost a couple of limbs a few years ago. There is so much that needs to be done here that we get behind easley.
I'm going to head for bed now so you all have a good night.
Hey guys, Lady in the house so watch what you say(only teasing, I know most of you are gentlemen). Haven't been in for a while but lot of stuff going on MIL is in really bad shape they don't expect her to live much longer and my husband is going through some medical tests to get to the bottom of some sight problems, Waiting to hear results from the MRI. AND THIS TOO SHALL PASS. I haven't worked on the layout other than painting a few buildings, just haven't felt up to it.
Perry, I really enjoyed seeing those pics, Did you scatch build all your buildings 'cause they are great looking.
I can't stay but thought I drop in so you wouldn't forget me. My thoughts and prayers go out to all in need.

Hey guys, sorry I'm late today. It's crazy around here! Found out that the house I just moved out of was built in 1851. I knew it was 19th century, but thats REALLY old for central Indiana! Back then this area practically WAS the wild west!
Oh, I brought lunch, as promised!
Grilled Salmon!
Good to see Jeff's back on line!
RT, haven't forgot you and yours in my prayers.
Afternoon all.....Sunny but much colder here....I made a run down to library to get a book for Sallie on my power chair and got a mite cold before I got back...Ran a couple of trains this morning and checked Ebay out but didn't see anything that suited my fancy and my budjet.....
RT.. you and your mother are still in our thoughts and prayers..
Jeff ....we raised 6 kids and they were all different....Some times it I thought nothing worked...but now as they grow up and have thier own familys I see maybe we did something right...You seem to be a nice young man and are willing to help some one out..... do what your heart tells you to do be prepared to make a few mistakes and my # 1 rule...DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF......
Mike...You didn't get any frost? We had some on the cars about 7:30....Hows new layout coming?
Well its almost nap time...You all have a good one...Jerry

Good afternoon, I missed breakfast and lunch in here today. How about an afternoon snack ……a banana smoothie sounds good right about now.
I’ve been working up some cookie cutter templates for the plywood sub-roadbed cuts I need to make on the next sections for the layout. And I progressed with putting down more cork roadbed on the double mainline run to the second level. I am now starting to concentrate on finishing the first level so that I can start putting down some track ASAP.
I’ve also been reading the Kalmbach book “How to Build Realistic Model Railroad SCENERY” by Dave Frary. This is a really good book, full of formulas for plaster, paint, foam, dirt, etc… I am currently reading the section about rocks and rubble.
Perry, great pics of the layout, I really like the fence material below the benchwork and the dinosaur attacking the archeologist is great! Thanks for sharing.
Paul, good luck with the 6-month CU! Still waiting to turn on the full house heat here, but there was one really cool night a few weeks ago when we fired up the gas logs in the fireplace. I heard that the Polar Express was headed our way on Friday….
Scott, great news with getting to attend the train show on the 20th. You sure are working a lot these days, enjoy the break, because you deserve it my man!
Inch, thanks for the weather report! How you keeping those flowers protected from the frost? I want to keep my mater plants up as long as possible, they are still producing.
Neal, good one!
RT, good news. Prayers are still with you and your mom.
Jeff, great job on giving the boy some reward for his efforts. I have only 13 years of “dad” experience, but I am still learning. Everyone’s different, but the one thing I have learned is to spend as much time with the children as possible. The chances for bonding with my 11 year old are getting far and few between with all the demands he has with school and friends now.
Hoople, what position do you play on your soccer team? I played soccer in high school for two years and was the right forward.
Cheers,
Ryan

I just had a close encounter of the fourth kind (excited teenager). I had promised my neighbors boy that if he got good grades in school this year, he could be a staff member on my forum. He pulled himself up by the bootstraps and showed a marked improvement. His grades last year were barely passing (C's and D's). Now he's getting A's and B's. So, late last night I modified his account and made him a junior staff member. He came over a little while ago and got online while I was in the shower. I readied myself for what I knew was coming. Suddenly there was this roof-raising YAHOO just as I came out of the shower. I think I was almost crushed to death by a hug from the most excited and happy 13 year old I've ever seen. Now if he'll work on his caps and punchuations, I'll see about giving him more responsibility.
I would appreciate any advice from those of you who have kids. I have none of my own and have only my own childhood experiences to draw on. They howeverm are markedly different from anything I could use with him, as I was a mentally retarded child and required special care and schooling.
Morning all,, think I'll have what Jeff's having Zoe
No frost this morning, got 34 oustside now, but another better chance tomorrow morning. got kids today, so no plans for anything
Chris,,, all we got yesterday was rain, no thunder.

Good morning, and top 'o' the day to all of ye. I'll have a cheese and mushroom omelet this morning with a bit of orange juice.
Worked the bugs out of the modem last night and I'm flying along at warp speed here. It feels good to be back online.
Good morning ! from Indiana.

Thanks for the warm welcome....
Not much to tell about me other than the fact that I really enjoy my hobby. My main focus is on scratch building my own scenery (but not trees). I started this layout in May 2002 and have been having fun with it ever since. I post around on different forums and today is my first post on this message...I've been reading it for quite a while.

Good Evening All,
Interesting presentation at the museum tonight. One of our members had done a tour of E. Germany after it fell and the amount of steam still in use there was amazing. The looks and configurations were a bit odd what ith 2 - 10 - 2 freight locomotives and 2- 8 - 0 passenger power plus a bunch of diesels with chris craft cabins attached. There were things like a yard with 32 steam locomotives all lined up in various states of repair and a roundhouse in another town with 12 stalls each containing a different black with red trim steam locomotive. Impressive.
Jeffery - it's the same old story - if you want it done right, do it yourself.
RT - sorry to hear about your mom. My MIL is going down the same path though she's been hanging in there for the last year or so. Anyway you have our prayers and sympathy.
All for now, just wanted to drop by for a nightcap. CUL, J.R.
Nice to see you posting in here again, Scott, even if it has to be quick.
