QUOTE: That's quite a theory you have there, Professor John. But, is that supposed to mean that now I create a high frequency whine from all of the turbines I am around? Or, does the whine linger with me for a certain time? There weren't any turbines around when I was attacked.
QUOTE: And about bringing two people together, I'm not so sure about that. You try curing someone that is temporarily afraid of dogs. Especially engineer craving ones.
QUOTE: Well, since I am always working on a turbine at some point, can we get Rosie some ear plugs? I might have a pair to go with MY hat and MY bandana.

It's the residual high frequency whine from all those turbines you hang with. You can't hear them, but a sensitive soul like our Rosie can, and it drives her to rash actions. That, and the well documented predeliction of Canadian dogs for Styrene. [(-D]

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017

I found an old Sydam station and it'll fit on the mainline as a way-station. We've got mom until at least Dec 3rd, and the eye is doing well. The doctor says the other eye should be done in about 2-3 months. Fergie: I haven't done to many box cars so I'll look and see about a picture. I'll take a picture of a caboose and then another caboose. (Is it cabooses or cabeeese?) I found a tank car yesterday, it's amazing what's upstairs when you look. Well, I've got to get ready and go to work Ya'll have a blessed day and remember [/]SANTA FE ALL THE WAY[/b] Bob
QUOTE: Originally posted by TrainFreak409 Jeesh everybody, do I have a story to tell y'all. A couple days ago, I found a real nice N scale locomotive at work, and, since I don't have enough rolling stock for my three locomotives, I thought of our good friend John (Der5997). Now, I was all excited to see what John would think about this gift, and being one of the newer people here at the forums (Haven't been here a year yet), I would also be strengthing a friendship with an older member. But, here's the unbelieveable part. As I was making my way to the diner, this dog came out of no where. I thought nothing of it, but then it growled, and locked its eyes on the locomotive box under my arm. It jumped forwards, with unimaginable speed, and grabbed the box. I couldn't believe it, the box and loco were gone in a blink of an eye. Then the dog looked at me. [:0][:0][:0][:0][:0][:0][:0][:0][:0] <Suspence> [:0][:0][:0][:0][:0][:0][:0][:0][:0] Not wanting to die, I took my name tag off of my bandana, and my pins off of my hat, and threw them at the dog. The dog, wasn't exactly interested in them, and ran after me. I managed to make it home. But, the dog wouldn't leave. So, I dug through my junk box, and found an old Athean shell, and chucked it out the window. Luckily, the dog ran after that. But what really burns me, is that I had to go out and buy another hat and bandana. I haven't been back since then, in fear of the dog. Watching it tear through that locomotive was horrible. ... ... ... ... WHAT IS THIS? I see you have a picture of the beast. WHAT! Wearing my bandana!? When I get my hands on that dog I'm gonna- What am I talking about? I don't ever want to face that monster again. That counted for multiple therapy sessions with my girlfriend. Don't worry all, I am safe and sound, with a new bandana, and hat. I just have one thing to say. KEEP THAT DOG AWAY FROM ME! ~[8]~ TrainFreak409 ~[8]~

QUOTE: Originally posted by Big_Boy_4005 Antonio, congrats on that fifth star, and thanks for all your help. [tup][tup] Sorry for going slightly political, and on a Sunday morning no less. This message is mostly for Antonio, but for everyone else, it may help explain some of what is going on here on topics related to Lionel's bankruptcy filing this week. I think there are only a few actual people behind all of this stuff, but they have a lot of identities, and every time someone wants to say something against MTH, bam, there they are. I have never had a problem with differing opinions. I actually want them to be heard. It's the hard line rhetoric and the antagonistic tone of these few that bother me. I'm starting to get the sense that for at least one of these guys it is getting personal. I dont mind taking the heat for saying things that some people don't like. What these diehard MTH fans don't realize is that even though their side won in court, they are losing in the court of public opinion. Divide the O gauge world in half, which may be overly generous to MTH, but when you add in the opinions of the HO and N scale guys, the balance really tips. Let's hang tough, these guys will go away when they understand that they aren't winning any converts to their way of thinking. We now return to our regularly scheduled program, already in progress[swg]
