Modelling AT&SF in the 90s
Don't worry guys got a fresh case of realism today when I went to P.O. and picked up a box of parts for real trains (O Gauge not scale) LOL . Back into the trains I'm supose to be dealing with.
Now I'am looking for an n scale Virginian engine (prefer used) but it will also be a while till I can think of getting it. Have to big of a train bill for a while already.
Well I've already replaced 3 couplers, remounted two trucks, restung a crane and put the hook on it also replaces the missing turn shaft to lower and raise crane arm. repaired dump log dump car with missing dump assemblee (need to find my black wire to replace the broken wire on the log dump) , replaced side doors and guides on one boxcar. and fixed my douple signal bridge with new lights and lamp covers.
Man I'm back to normal now whew felt good doing all that.

That's a new one. It wasn't even listed this morning. And even now on the National Hurricane Center website it's still being referred to as Tropical Depression #5. btw, I think it will be "Ernesto", and not "Eduardo". I'm already here, but I'm not much of a storm these days.

Good evening CS People! Fergie hoped to be home in a week a day or two ago, but then his ship was sent to help another in the WESTERN arctic! So, we don’t know how that will affect his eta.
The local was pushing a real modeler’s dream of a train (sorry steam fans ) across the road as we were going to pick up the grandsons last Wednesday in Truro. Check out the weathering job! The train was, in order of appearance, caboose, three or four centre beam flats for the lumber yard at Brookfield about 8 miles down the mainline, and the covered hopper that I think would go to that plastics plant I showed you a week or so ago. That would fit on lots of layouts with room to spare.
The boys are here to give mom a break, as she’s home now, but still quite dizzy and weak. Dan the elder of the boys, helped me do some work on the tomatoes in our small greenhouse today. First time he’s done that kind of thing.

Ed: Aircondition a basement! Now I've heard everything. I've been thinking about that though. The problem is where to put a window unit. The windows aren't large enough for even the smallest one that I've seen. Of course they are all right over the layout to.
I did get some work done on the layout. That is if you call tearing out progress. The new plan is to have the ore yard on the same level as the main line. This has freed up losme space for a mine on the other end where the staging yard was going. The staging will be located in an area that is full of stuff that is in storage. When that is cleaned out then I can get the stagging in. The wait won't be wasted as there is alot to be done else where.
John brought his HO scale stuff over. He's going total G scale now. Unfortunately its all modern stuff except for one 3 bay hopper that I think I can use. I guess I'll have to arrange for some space at the next train show.
It's bed time so I'll say good night. We're going to haul hay again tomorrow so it's an early get up.

Inch-Love that shot of the old steam genertaor cars. MLW made those for the steam heating on CNR's two cross country name trains The Dominion and The Super Continental.I love that old passenger service paint scheme a real classy one. At the peak of the passenger runs in the 50's the entire train consist from the locomotives back had that paint job and the black name bands were level for the whole length of the train. Unfortunatly that Consol does not run , it hasn't been fired up since the TH&B retired it in 1956. Originally it was stuffed and mounted in Gage park in the Middle of Hamilton where vandles and weather mad e a real mess of it. It was moved to the Pioneer Villiage in 1991 where it's been under cosmetic restoration. They have no plans of powering ot again, the tracks it's sitting on are only about 800 feet long. Along with the 103 they have a TH&B wood caboose and the TH&B's Jerseyville Station.
Der -I'm glad to hear that your daughter's home and onn the mend. it's good to hear thta her kids are helping out, should help speed up the healing process.

Don't use a window unit. Use one of those "mini-split" units with the compressor mounted outside and the air handler unit inside, mounted under the ceiling or on a wall. You only have the coolant line running back and forth between the two, plus a condensate drain line.
That's what we have here.

JAILBIRD UPDATE: For those of you who know about the recent events of my life (i.e. the Under Arrest! thread), the lead officer called me last night and appologized saying that they were wrong, I WAS on public property, I wasn't doing anything wrong, and he said he's sorry that they may have over reacted. No charges are going to be filed by the police department or the department of homeland security. I just want this to go away.
Mild, maybe.....I don't care though. I just am glad that it appears to be over.
The wife thought it was pretty exciting to be married to such a "dangerous" guy though. Maybe I shouldn't have told her it was over just yet, huh?

Got the day off today, it is my first Friday flex day off. Since I am working 9 hour shifts I now get every other Friday off, yea!
Takin a break from chores, I just finished 3 hours of cleaning the house! Then it is shower time and off to the bank and Wal-Mart. Might check out some of those 1:87 auto cars I hear are on sale there for less than $2.00.

The repair was completed yestarday morning, and they had to flush out the AC system a couple more times then it worked fine. Since it was not ready on time, they delivered it to my work in the afternoon. Can you say cold air? Not only did they fix the AC, they even gave the truck a wash and detail job!! These guys are professionals!

PC, that is great news! Wow, now that calls for a celebration! Good for you too, I think we all knew you were right the whole time. And that took a lot of courage and guts for him to call you and appologize. I am sure once he figured out they had no grounds to stand on he'd better reconsider, lest you take them to court. Anyway, congratulations again!

Yeah, ya know, several people have told me that I should file suit against those officers, but I just don't think thats a good idea.
If I file a suit, whether I win or loose, those guys might not do a good enough job checking out the next guy, and he may be a person who needs stopped. I don't want that. I just hope that they've learned that they have to be careful to really check people out, but not go too far. I think they've got that.
Me getting all worked up about it now and filing charges would not make anything better.
I'm just ready to move on!
PC glad to hear the whole ordeal is over for you. I'd have to agree with you too, if I were the one who had been arested I'd probably figure that there is no point in dragging it out anymore as long as they aren't filing and charges against you. Either way, you sure have one heck of a story to tell to your grandkids someday! (of course by that point, they will probably be so worried about Homeland Security that aresting railfans will become commonplace and railfanning will slowly become illegal. And people think that the terrorists lost, just have them try our hobby for a few months!)

Inch basicly if its made 1969 or before I keep . If newer I resell. Now will sell a piece to get another one thats better. Once in a while sell a piece if not really happy with it.

I agree that you've chosen the right path forward on this. But I wonder if you've considered posting a follow-up post in the various places you started the famous "I've been arrested" threads. Some of the jerky responses you got might be well served to discover that you were, as you contended, not on private property when you were on the fire road. I even think that the supportive posters would be pleased to hear that the issue was resolved in your favor.
