Mornin, just some coffee Janie
Suppose to be partly cloudy, with a high in the low 50's today.
While we were in Mattoon yesterday, we went down to the IC yard, and found these 3. UP #9587, IC #6008, and IC #1020 heading Decatur, IL.
Jerry,,, it was good to get there and the locomotive would have been a lot warmer than standing out in that N. wind. Some times I wish I could still drive it. Was a lot of work, but fun too.
I checked Wally world in Charleston, for your box cars and they didn't have any. Did get me a 55 chevy though. We should be up in Paris sometime this week, I'll look there again.
Time fur chores, hope ya'll has a gooden

Brian, I wish you the best of luck. What those dummies don't appreciate is their freedom to express themselves without having to look over their shoulders to see who might be listening .
FREEDOM from fear is what we have gained from people like you. I was darned lucky. I was in the army right after Korea and out before Nam. God had/has other plans for me.
We have many Veterans in this hobby and quite a few in the CS. I think I can speak for all of them and wish God will look after you.

Evening Gang: Well I tried to get on the PeoplePC tonight and struck out. It's a good thing that I was able to get on through EV1.
Dick: I never got to Ft. Bliss. I did my basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood. Then I went to Ft Wolters Tex for primary flight training and on to Ft. Rucker Ala. for advanced and graduation. After graduation I went to Viet Nam. When I got back I went back to Ft. Wolters to be a TAC officer and later a flight instructor. That's were I was discharged in 1972.
The train show was pretty good. There were alot of layouts there and a couple being constructed. I didn't see alot that I needed. I did find 2 MDC taper side ore cars and a Bachman G wood ore car. I didn't even see any books that I didn't have or needed. I must have been in this hobby too long. I'll swing back there on my way home to see if there might be any bargins.
Well I think that I'll try PeoplePC again. I did try and send them a reply to there welcome E-mail. I'll try and use the EV1 connection. With the tone of my E-mail that would be appropreate.
Good Night All
Evening all barley pop Flo if ya would,
Hope ya'll had a good day, ours wasn't to bad, other than the cold N. wind at the parade this morning. Thought I'd post a couple pics from up there.
This one is of Jussy ROTC unit
Wasn't very many people out to watch or take part in the parade there. Seems like not to many care anymore. Most towns don't even do anything anymore, it be a shame

Super Chief,, welcome aboard, have a round on me if ya want. Wish you well during your tour with the Marines when school is finshed. As for those who don't understant, well Dick said it better than i ever could have. Thats one part of life you need not worry bout, for they will never understand.
Hope ya'll have a good night

Brian, I for one am very proud that you are willing to defend our country(even those who don't understand why you want to).

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017

In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blowBetween the crosses, row on row,That mark our place; and in the skyThe larks, still bravely singing, flyScarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days agoWe lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,Loved, and were loved, and now we lieIn Flanders Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:To you from failing hands we throwThe torch; be yours to hold it high.If ye break faith with us who dieWe shall not sleep, though poppies growIn Flanders fields.
- John McCrae, 1915

Hoping a good day for all,
Let us not just remember those who are past, but all those who've served.
Giving their time, blood, sweet, and tears without question.
Honor them for their sacrifices to keep us free.
Good Morning,
My 2 cents on fire extinguishers….
B-1 extinguishers (PKP- small horn) once a month shake the extinguisher and turn it upside down, you should feel the powder slide to the other side of the unit. These PKP or dry powder extinguishers operate by delivering a powder onto the fire. If the powder sits too long it can compact in the bottom of the unit (more so if stored on a boat or vehicle). It can be very exciting to have only the CO2 come out of the bottle and onto a fire.
USCG Approved extinguishers: If you see the USCG APPROVED on the label the extinguisher will not rust. The important parts are proven not to rust, that’s a good thing. When inspecting the extinguisher carefully check the nozzle for foreign material. Insects like to build nests in the horns and discharge nozzles.
Remember you are allowed to have more than one in your home. They come in handy if you need to blaze a trail to escape your home.
Teach your spouse and kids how to use them. In my job you see so many times the father is incapacitated and the kids/spouse has no clue how to use the available life saving equipment.
