Ed - I'll take my b'day... July 11th as the date for the 10,000 post.

Now, on to more exciting news.....

As most of you all know, my (fictious) company, Powell Transport Co, Inc had temporarly ceased operations a few weeks ago. Earlier today, Powell Transport Co, Inc had received a buyout offer from a new (fictious) company that I'm the VP of Operations for. This company, CNY Transport Corp. has 'submitted a very nice ($$$$$$$) bid' for Powell Transport Co, Inc. CNY Transport Corp currently owns CNY Railway Corp (new fictious company) along with a few 'no name' trucking companies. If the shareholders of Powell Transport Co, Inc approve the buyout offer, I'll become the President of CNY Railway Corp. and the VP of CNY Transport Corp. CNY Transport Corp would then be the sole provider of all ground transportation services for the East Syracuse (NY) Co-Op Industrial Park.
So, with that said, I'm off to a meeting with the shareholders.

Wow I checked in yesterday around 3 in the afternoon and caught up right away,took a little longer today.

Jc train-Some of us in the cold country would like to change places with you at times.

Matt-I used to play around on a dirt bike and just before I went back to riding on the road,they started making everyone riding trails get an off the road sticker to put on your bike. It came about because too many didn't use what is between the ears and spoiled things for the rest. Oh,and I know where there is some snow if you really want it.

It is suppose to get up to around 40 by the weekend here,and there has been a big funny looking yellow ball in the sky the last couple days.

hello

After several months of inactivity of any kind and general boredom, I dug out one of my locomotives and put it on my kitchen table of 30x72 inches. Using it as a means to get a general idea of how much space was available, I quickly became dismayed at the lack of space. That is until I reasoned that some sort of removable 'wing' 22 inches long could be utilized to grant additional space for some purposes. This, of course, led me to believe where one is good two are better. Three short hours later, I had pounded out a trackplan that satisfied me as much as possible in the space alloted.

It is intended to be part of a larger layout in the event I ever have the space for such an endeavor. Things need more tweaking before I show any one, I think. Several times (ha, more than several) I decided that those Atlas Snap Switches may prove more useful than even a little #4 turnout. I saw a picture of my pseudo-prototype having some incredibly complex trackwork that is long since torn up that had the diverging track curve much like the snap switches. I assume that this will not cause me grief as the longest rolling stock that will ever (and i do mean ever) go over them will be 37' covered hoppers. Well the SW1000 I have will go over them too, but he's only a little bigger than that and never had trouble navigating such things.

Whilst digging through my photographs, I came upon my favorite locomotive NS #3357. Previously I had entertained the idea of constructing a model of this loco, but as my future layout would be set in 1998, NS 3357 would be Conrail 6409. Turns out that CR 6409 was once the subject of an article on detailing CR SD40-2s and my project suddenly was less original that I'd hoped. 3357 is the only locomotive I've seen on every trip to Horseshoe Curve that I've ever made and it felt like a good project. Perhaps the hard work has been done for me already and thusly duplicating a smaller version of CR 6409/NS 3357 will be less difficult.

Jim, I do remember that, I think it was last month if I remember right. I have too look into the whole roof thing. I don't think the shingles will work, as it's supposed to be an industrial building with a metal roof. That's why I think the chalk weathering thing would be best.

Well, I’ve got homework and a dinner honoring my winning of an essay contest tonight, so I have to get going, I don’t want to have to do the homework after the dinner, I’ll probably be too tired for that.

Got CFO to the dentist, she feels a little better, the root canal is completed. I was talking to Ferfge for a short time. He was running to the dining car. We friefly talked about some ideas on aging the sugar factory. Thanks for the call Fergie, very good to hear you.

Trainnut - The awning is part of the kit along with the hearst. This is an IHC production. I found this one fun to build.

*** - I looked up the radar and satellite data as well as the 500 and 1000 mbar maps with a sea surface temp analisys. Noe I think that this low will deepen a bit and stall which will move the jet stream north. This will produce S - SW winds, warmed up a bit by the gulf stream. I think we will get wet snow or rain on Friday followed by a warming trend for a few days. Having said that, tommorow will show more data and new predictions [:)][:)][:)]

Evening all. Still not much going on with me. But my mom had some good news today in the mail. She has been trying to get her SSI (disability) going for the last five years. Well, she got a letter saying she will receive her first check in April. So, PRAISE THE LORD!

JimRCGMO, as for fishing from my porch, no not yet. Though a few times we have landed some boats at our porch. So, to answer your question, yes, at sometimes you can fish from my porch. Infact, during one rain storm years ago, a fish fell on our driveway. So, instead of cats and dogs, it was raining fish.[:D]

Well now they aren't sure if it's going to snoah or just keep raining or freezing rain or WHATEVER. I don't think that those weather guessers could tell the differance between a snoah flake and a trash can lid. When I was flying I would call the Air Force weather station for there guess and than look out the window and get the straight poop.

I've still got the '67 Bronco I bought when I got back from RVN, also the '78 Scout. Neather one are running now but someday. We really need a 4x4 right now. The road down to the barn is getting very bad.

Noah, does the roof have 2 parts (V-gable type)? If it does and the
sheets aren't suitable, you could get Northeastern styrene sheets.
They have some nice textured sheets that might be good for a metal roof.

Very. The Reina and Monica are just reaching their peak and are beautiful. The Mandarin oranges are past their peak, so while they are not as juicy as they were 5 weeks ago they are very sweet. Since we’re making juice out of them this just means the yield (liters of juice per kilo of oranges) is a little less. They’re just not as good as they were for just eating. The juice oranges are still a few weeks away from peak, so they still have a bit of acidity, which I really like.

What I do is keep Word open in one browser window and write my reply in that window, while having the Coffee Shop open in another browser window. That way I can write my responses in Word while scrolling through the posts. At the end it’s just cut and paste into the reply window.

Probably not had the retro-fit! Radar itself was pretty new back then. A favourite cartoon of mine from the WWII (I saw it in a collection years later) was from Punch Magazine, I think. (or the Daily Express if it was from a paper) It showed a bomber aircrew over the target with the pilot yelling to the chap at the bomb sight

Got turned down on a loan (have too many student

to replace the current car before it dies on me. So
