QUOTE: Brian, that's bad news about the train wreck. I feel sorry for all the innocent people, both dead and injured, who will suffer because of that guy.
I understand that the driver has been charged with homicide.

Luc: Please let Gloria know we are thinking of her, and praying this is over with soon.
I see you have an interlock tower to protect that crossing. That's on my to buy list for the MT. that cheapo camera delivers good colours too. Thanks for the pics.

Duke:[#welcome], and thanks for your thoughtfulness with the plain donuts. Regretably, there's not just sugar on the outside, but in the dough mix too, so I'll have to pass this evening. Maybe there will be some left for when I've got more leeway tomorrow.

QUOTE: Welcome to the Coffee Shop, but you're going to need to be just a wee bit more talkative if you want to hang around.
Did you catch the winking smilie Ed? I have just a hunch that we may know LilRob1974 already. [;)] 1974?, that would make him 31, if that's the significance.
In case I'm way off on this one..
[#welcome] LilRob[:D]

CapeJim: Here's the smilie that got lost in my email.
Glad you've found more info online.

Bedtime again, Goodnight, and God Bless.

Ed; It all depends on where you are as to what you can and can't do in an electrical way. Out here in the sticks we can do about anything we want to on our own places. I did all the wireing when we built our house. No, it hasn't burned down yet. Up north they are more strict. They also can collect more fees. Now I'm a licensed journyman electrician so I can legally do work for others, if anyone is desperit enough to ask.

***; You lucky duck. My Mary Ann usually gets me something practcal like a new fedder for the cattle.

With all these names for the different scales what does one call 7.5 inch gauge in all it's different scales?

I thought that N was Nearly Invisable.

Welcome Duke and Lilrob. I see that Lilrob joined today. This is a good place to start.

Fergie; Duke seems tobe a sensible sort, so he must be in HO.

So Good Night all

Evenin' y'all

***: Almost missed it, but not quite[bday]!!!

Duke: Big [#welcome]

Lil Rob: Would that make this a lil [#welcome]? Nah, its still a big [#welcome]. Glad to have ya'

Well, I got some good done tonight, a lot of train running, a little decoder installing, a little train running, a little installing, a little train running, a little installing....you get the idea. I just got it in one loco, and it shouldn't take that long, but its an older P2K switcher, so it was a pain putting in new lights ( I like bright white LED's, even if they don't look prototypical ) Not quite done yet, but on the downhill side now. Now that I ahve lights in the other 5 locos, its kinda fun to run them in the dark and watch the lights and listen to the sounds (only in 2 of them) DCC is amazing isn't it?

Can't believe that guy in California that parked his SUV on the tracks.

WOW, it got late while I was sitting here, better go to bed,
Greg

Hi all-
Welcome Duke and LilRob... is that who I think it is? [:D]
If so, sorry I missed you on AIM this afternoon - silly me, after coming home from lunch I left it logged on.... even missed a chat invite. d'oh! [:P]

Sure is sad about the wreck in CA. It was sad enough when I just heard a little bit and thought it was one of those freak occurences, the details of it are even more depressing. [:(]

And for the record, 29 here (B-day in November), and flame-thrower free since I gave up on the usenet boards years ago! I come to the boards to talk/read/write to folks that have fun doing the same things I do - and what's the fun in picking a fight, I say [(-D]

Teffy- I know with my wit and wisdom, I must certainly SOUND like I'm all of 53, but the others are right,50. But in 3 years, I'll sound like I'm 56!
Duke and LilRob- welcome and welcome back, respectively. Glad you decided to come back, your an important regular member Rob.
Lawrence- It's a beautiful 10F down here in the south, but nonetheless I'm glad to see you are back where you belong, protecting my northern flank. Did you have a great time on your trip?
As for picking fights, just try to pick the right ones. As for Alvarez, he needs to be ground into dog food. I lost sympathy for people like him about 3 hours into this job, and that was 30 years ago.How one person can be so arrogant as to bring so much misery into other lives due to his own selfish desires, vermin like that needs to be removed. Civilization has no obligation to trash like that, other than to dispose of it. Sorry to be so cut and dried, but there is too much devastating sadness being heaped upon decent people, and the only way to stop it is to STOP IT. With extreme prejudice.
Today I helped bury a friends mother , my cousin's son is in the same area as the Marines that died , and now I'm watching a PBS show about the Holocaust. That could possibly have something to do with this attitude....or it could be that I'm just sick of evil taking such a toll and civilized people thinking there are no answers to it all.
Well, thanks for letting me be serious for a bit, but thats enough of that!

Good morning all. Yeesh, I again beat the alarm clock. Have 20 minutes till need to leave for work. The jerk in Cal. is on suicide watch. Why do so many who try to commit suicide try to take others with them?
Well, wish you all a good day and you and your spouses get better. Happy MRRing.

Good Morning Coffee Shoppers: Just enough snow overnight topretty things up a bit. Have to dash down in a minute to get my M-I-L's screen door unstuck. She likes to feed the birds on the deck outside her living room. More important is the fire safety issue.
[#welcome] TrainsRMe. You'll find a neigbour in Karl, and we spent 8 years or so north of you on Vancouver Island in the 80s. Folks would be interested in your modelling interests, so next time you're in, draw up a comfy chair and Zoe will get you the fried catfish. Only problem there is that it will have to be Mitched, that is Deep Fried Catfish Soup![(-D]
Now for that screen door...TTFN

C'mon, Phil, don't hold back - tell us how you really feel! [}:)][;)]
But I can understand your feelings about "Why do people do the stuff we do to each other?" and feeling like it's trout season and we're heading upstream.
Sometimes it's like (pardon the reference here for those not fond of country music) Garth Brooks' song where he says something like "it's not that I think I'm going to change the world, more like the world is not going to change me." Toughest thing to do sometimes is to be the best us that we can respectively be (instead of being conformed into someone else's ideas of how we should/shouldn't be). (end of sermon...)[:)]

Oops - almost forgot (and I don't want to) - [#welcome] back, Rob! Good to have you back in the Shop![:)] Hope to see you again soon, and tell Zoe I'm picking up your tab next time in (we don't sell Challengers in here, do we??[}:)][;)]).

[#offtopic] As for the guy in Calif., my thoughts are that he didn't think things through (or do much thinking at all). I heard yesterday on the news that he had a restraining order from his separated wife, so I'd guess he has some major problems. Sometimes I've seen people who think they don't have any other options totally miss possibilities for getting help, and then someone else suffers. My [2c]

Hello all. Yes, guy's, it's me, Robert (formerly RDLkrbyvllRR). I just needed some time away, that's all. And I did have to get some things done.

To everyone, I want to apologize for what has transpired over the last few days. I made a bad choice of words. And I take full responsibility for everything. Please do not get mad at those who spoke up for me. And don't boot anyone off because of what they said. It all stemmed from what I said. I ask you all to please forgive me. It was just a bad day for me, at that perticular moment. I would like to continue to be a part of this forum, especially the coffee shop. So, to all, again, I apologize to you. I extend my hand in friendship. You all are no doubt good guy's, and I forgive you for all the things you may have said about me. Let's all be friends, ok.

sincerely, Robert

[#ditto]Big Boy and Ed i agree with both of you totally i'm wondering would cal consider the DP in a case like this? Unfortunatly if they do it will likely be an expensive lawers feeding frenzy for the next ouple of years.I'm not one for even liking to consider such measures in these types of situations and I'm Canadian as well so we have no DP but in my mind if he parks on the track isn't that premeditated even if he did get cold feet and bailed out?My heart just goes out to all the inocents left without family members we should all keep them in our thoughts and prayers. enough sad stuff [#welcome] to Trains come on in and have some fried liquid on Mitch he won't mind picking up the tab [}:)][(-D][(-D][(-D][:-,]And Brian{[bday] and many happy returns and all that. *** did you survive your birthday dinner[?][dinner] you haven't been in yet normally you beat me to the shop in the afternoon. You must be still recovering[swg][zzz][zzz][zzz] Oh well must toddle off for now. TTFN Rob(the trolley variety)[:D]

Rob, rumor has it that a pack escaped from their owners and grew, and grew, and grew. I think the parrot gang is now about 200. A big blue Macaw is leader, and the rest are green. They have been around for over 10 years now. Long answer to short question. But boy would I like to catch the blue one. [oX)]

Hi, everyone. I often come here to read other people's posts, but I never give any input... till now...I feel very sorry about that train accident in California. Here in Canada the guy would probably be charged with Manslaughter. I understand these people were on their way to work and they never saw it coming...It's realy sad.

Brian: Looks like it must be time for a [bday]!!

Tim: Parrot hunting time!!!! [(-D]

TrainsRMe: [#welcome], drop in any time!!

Rob: Seems I remember seeing one of those on Digitrax's website, but I have some decoders I need to use up. I'm just hoping the body will fit after its in. Otherwise I'll have to put a Z scale in it.

Got Bullnanza coming up Saturday, oughta be a good show, but it always is.

Well, better go,

Greg watch the Z scale I'm not sure if they will handle the same amp draw as an HO one. They are more spensive and I'd hate to see you blow it at an inopertune moment. Rob
