I hope to be able to jump in more often now that we are all moved in and set up. I am going to be building a 12X20 room on to the house to start the new layout. I cant wait. Ive had the itch for a while now. Well Im going to have a quick look around to see what you guys have been up to. Talk to you later.

Hey! Welcome back Duce!
Long time no see!
evenin all, a barley pop Zoe,
Good news, Becky came home today, and she's happy to be in her on bed again. Beck still has therapy a couple times a week, but she's home. I'm happy cause I won't have kids under foot every day now.
Talked to Mother, she be enjoying herself in Florida. Now we're hoping this bad weather will be through Indy by the time she flies in Fri.
Glad ya'll enjoyed the sunrise pics. I get to see alot of them from the train room window. I think the best sunrise I ever seen was from 35,000 ft. from the boom pod on a KC-135. Wish I'd had a camera then. And then there the ones I remmber as a kid, seeing them through the barn door while pulling teets on the milk cow.
DUCE,,, good to have ya back and glad that boy's a doing good. He'll be up an helping the the layout soon afore ya know it. What are ya doing for the railroad out there.
No train time yet, since Mothers been gone, but plan on some tommorrow. Heathers running me over to the bank, so I can deposit Mothers check and then my time comes to play for awhile. Best get a move on catch ya'll laters

WATCH HIM!?! I've never seen anything like it! I was in awe! I've never seen a man eat like that! His hands and his lower jaw were just a blur! I thought the countertop might be in danger and I warned Zoe not to get her hands too close, so she just slid the pies to him down the counter. She said he left a good tip though!
Inch, glad to hear of the homecomming! Been praying for Becky for a while.
Well, the nasty weather is heading this way!
So what's up with you guys today?
Morning all,
Have a rough morning here. Been up since 5:00 working overtime.

Sorry about the pie thing. We should have told him it was all gone before it really was! It was just, well, I'd never seen anything like that! Those pies didn't stand a chance! Anyways, I picked up a couple on the way in this morning so you have a choice, Dutch Apple or Pecan.
Philip,
I'll take the heart clogging goodness of a peacon please.
Coffee and a fresh doughnut please, Chloe!
Did you notice that the posting box and code is more user friendly now. Thanks MR Forum dudes, err.. Bergie!
Ben assisted me in getting the remaining Christmas lights up on the front of the house last night. We had to throw out three strings that were half blown out, so might have to get a few more to fill in some places. And all this was done in my shorts and a T-shirt too. But the cold temps are supposed to be heading this way soon.
Dick, thanks for the Registry hack tips for Windows OS! I have done so many Registry hacks I can't even count them all. The swap file one is a real power boost, especially if you have a second partition on the same drive, like having a C: and a D: partition, just move the swap file to D:. Sometimes I have set up PC's with two swap files, one on each drive.
And I like your idea about using Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, it goes nice with hot spiced apple cider too, I call that a spicy version of a "Hot Toddy", which is typically made with whiskey, lemon juice and hot water.

Yep, turn your back for 1 minute and....well......I must confess.....

Well Duke....have to admit, and truth be told, I did get a little assistance with downing the pie! ...I had to fight for that last piece too...
Looks like Philip has brought in the pie reinforcements, we need to conserve them now. You know....and since I am a chef I will need to conduct the taste test on each and every one of those too....and on the top of the hour....and every hour. No slouching here! This is serious business.....got to make sure they are as fresh as fresh can be!
PC!!! KEEP EM' COMING!!!!
All you west coasters, Pacific North West to be specific are getting lots of snow I see. Time to get the shovels out, eh! Or make some fruit flavored snow balls!
Jim the Cape, yea, living rooms too, you betcha! Hey, Christmas is only 26 days away, might want to start with those Christmas preparations soon. Don't feel left out; I know what you mean about the "largess around my middle," I have one of those too!
Inch, great news about Becky! Prayers for her continued recovery!
Cheers,
Ryan

Hello all,
We've got some mighty cold weather here in the Phoenix valley this week. It's time to stay inside and run trains until the outside temperature goes back above 60!
Well this has been a trying afternoon on the computer. Two posts that I was doing on word were lost. A box came on that the program had timed out and boom it was gone.
So I'll try once more.
Perry: Nice pictures. I like that little teakettle that you built.
Duce: Good to see you back. I'll bet you can't wait for the little one to get big enough to take the throttle.
Ryan: Send me your E-mail address. Mine is " thebeverungs@peoplepc.com. I'll send you the pictures.
The thunderstorms last night dropped a bunch of rain before turning to sleet and this morning to snow. Not much of an accumulation but tonight it's supposed to get very cold so everything will turn to ice.
OK, I'm going to try and get this posted before it goes Poof.
Well I guess I beat the Pooffers. I'll see you all later. Now since it's too messy to do anything outside I'll have to go to the basement and the MRR. Tough hu?
Edit; I see that they have changed the post reply thinge. So what are you supposed to do for the giffs? I enjoyed being able to use them. I guess I'll have to figure out the new tool bar but it's such a bother when I had just gotten used to the old system.
It's gotten really cool here today.

ModelTrainLover wrote:Hey guys! I was thinking. maybe we should start a Never Ending story here on Trains.com!! Jeff-Pc what do you guys think?
Trust me, you don't want to start another Never ending story here. We used to have one about two or three years ago, and it ran pretty well and for something like 247 pages. But it eventually got out of control and no longer served it's purpose, and so Bergie locked it. I definately would't start one again. That idea was thrown around a lot after the first one was closed, and it causes a little controversy....
Boy, even the words "never ending story" bring back a lot of memories of time gone by here on the forum. Hard to believe it's been as long as it has since that thread was locked, and the amount of current forum participants that remember it (and the DOS thread) sure has shrunk.

Thanks Paul,
I can't take credit for building the little wooden train...as it was gifted to me. It was made/dated in the 70's. I think it looks like it belongs in Castle Canyon and since it fits the track, I snapped the pics...
