I know"just" enough on computers to be dangerous(to myself)
I know enough about computers to be dangerous to the government! I have had visits from them on occasion in relation to some hacking.

Sorry, I know next to nothing about Mozilla and Firefox except that many of my friends hate it anf have gone back to IE.

Images - right click the image -> properties -> Location

copy the address there in between the [ img] [ /img] tags (without spaces) to link the image.

Because the URL button is made to work in IE (and as you've found out, is "iffy" with FF), I've found the best way to put hyperlinks in is to use url tags in one of two ways:

1. [ url] http://www.somesite.com[ /url]
2. [ url ="http://www.somesite.com"] a cool site [ /url]

again, like the image tags, take out the spaces to make it work right.

Good morning everyone, I hope everyone remembered to turn their clocks back one hour. I was awake at 4am...cut the grass, had breakfast, split a cord of wood, rortotilled the garden.......then I woke up!!!

The sky cleared overnight, but it is so windy here today that I fear some trees next to the house may topple over because of the nearly 3" of rain we received. We have some gusts to nearly 40mph. The only leaves left on the trees now are those darn oak tree leaves.

Weather Report from Central MA:

SKY: Clear
WIND: W , 10 minute average = 12 mph, gusts to 40 mph
BP: 29.38R
TEMP: 44.9F
DP: 45F
RH: 49%
WIND CHILL: 39F

JEFF: Maybe Santa will bring you a new camera!!!

JAMES: Thank you for forwarding pics of the train show, some nice layouts, I am sure you are getting some ideas right?

NGARTSHORE350: Very nice layout !!! Who says electrical engineers only know ohms law?

MIKE: Somehow, I need to get a picture in my mond of you dressed in a suit and tie. If you are like me, I avoid them as long as possible.

Time to feed the Pellet stove, see you guys later,

Here ya go, 5 F units lined up, ready to pull! I took this pic three years ago on my previous layout.

They're all Athearns, all powered and were pulling a 40 car train.

Afternoon, Janie - a root beer float, and I’ll have one of PC’s turf ‘n’ surf specials, please. Thanks, PC!

Congrats on the goal, Hoople! Now that you have the hang of it, is the season almost over? Wink [;)] Sometimes seems like that.

DerJohn - so what kind(s) of furniture are you and Kris making? And do you have plans for the furniture? Inquiring(nosy) minds and all that... Smile [:)]
The spirea looks fairly good, but I’d say you need either a couple of colors of green spray paint or tree flocking/stuff to add to them. Will you be able to parlay this furniture project into some more territory for your RR? (tee hee...) And I’d guess on that airplane - maybe an old P-47?

PA Mike, you gonna use that glue for a pending project, for gluing benchwork together, or what? Better watch out with that Walthers catalog - now you’ll be finding all kinds of additional stuff you just ‘have’ to have. Shock [:O]Wink [;)]

OzJim, great pics from the show - I especially like the trees, and the area with the (container?) crane. Some of the big diesels don’t look much different from some of the newer EMD and GE units, surprisingly. Good shooting! Thumbs Up [tup]

Ngartshore, that looks like one good-sized yard there! And Sign - Ditto [#ditto] Inch’s comments on the backdrop. (Garden tools? What garden tools?) Whistling [:-^]
Whistling [:-^] I’m with Dansapo - I like that Rio Grande - of course, their color scheme is a bit like the colors I picked for the CAW (my RR).

Dansapo - I'd say that NeO6874 is pretty much on the money - once you get yourself a photobucket.com account, you copy the link (pick the one on Photobucket that starts like Dan said), then paste it into your post. Sometimes you have to double/triple-check that the URL is spelled right; dang computers are sooooo picky! (P.S. I’m using Firefox (on a Mac, but it works about identically on Windows) and it goes pretty well once you upload the pics to your Photobucket account.

Jeff, that’s one hunk of pulling power there! Do you still have those F-units, as PC asked?

Anyone hear any news from Flip, if he got some relief on his work schedule?

PC, we appreciate your cooking here (and your picking up the tab...Evil [}:)] ) I think I may need one of those brown-bag specials during the week, if I don’t get enough time to slip out from the office. So tell our servers to keep those on the special list this week.

Feeling a bit better today - saw that some camera equipment I was selling (through an eBay assistant) finally got some decent bids. Going to use the money to pay the attorney for bankruptcy filing, and get some things fixed on the car that I’ve been delaying way too long. Might even have a little for the MRR after those are taken care of.... (I hope).

Gonna get out my pin vise and a smaller drill bit this afternoon. Need to get holes drilled in some additional places (in ties, like on the outside of the rails), and try to finish the rest of the tracklaying (for these two sections). Then, I might be about ready to think about a backdrop like Ngartshore’s. I’ll probably be using a combination of something like his, plus some Walthers mountain and desert backdrops cut to fit. But the backdrops will probably be next week. This week - Tracklaying!

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

Hey Jeff, what happened to those engines?  I haven't seen them on your current layout.

They're in KCS livery now, 1 gray A unit and 2 gray B units. The other two A units are are in white KCS livery.

Because you asked, heres some pics.

Here they are today.

Here's a shot from the other end.

I only use the lead unit anymore. The others need maintenance work done. Little things like new couplers and DCC decoders.

Hey all,

PC, I'll have the BBQ ribs. I'm from Texas, if you live in Texas, you have to like BBQ, right?

Not much happening with me. Just packing for the move. The room I have for my bedroom, might allow me to start a diorama (maybe a small layout). Atleast it's a start. If  I do, I'll need help from you guys. As in, designing the diorama, materials, construction, and so on.

See y'all later,

PC, that is an awesome shot. And, yes, it was nice of them to stop there.

Guy's, I want to have some trains in my signature, such as Jeff has. How do I do that again? Go step-by-step please. I have a photobucket account. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm gonna have to get out and start railfanning and take some pictures to post.

Evening Gang: It's kind of late for me. I've been up since 4am and that tends to poop me out.

James: I liked the pic's of the train show. I especially liked the pic of the sugar cane railroad. That is some great modeling. Did you get any more pic's of that?

PC; I'll have the steak and lobster. Mary Ann likes the lobster and I like that steak.

Jeff: Your pictures of those old F units reminded me that I have some I got back when I was about 14 yrs old. That's 50 yrs ago. I've got to dig them out and have a go at getting them running.

Well yo all have a good night and I'll see you tomorrow.

You need some avitars to add.  I've got a bunch here: http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j319/pcarrell/Avitars/

Some of mine are different sizes, so check that out carefully so that it all looks right.

Just go to your profile and in your signature section add a loco [ img] tag and then the [ img] tags for the cars.  You can't add very many though because of the forum software.  A loco and a couple of cars is about it.

Regaring the pictures, I use photobucket, I don't know about fox. I just upload the image and underneath each image it has three links, one is image, with the usual "IMG.....IMG" I just copy the text into the Forum and that's it! For example, IMG]http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h134/ngartshore350/Model%20Railroad/IMG_0023.jpg[/IMG, with the additional square brackets on each end!
