Afternoon all -
Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was so-so. CFO and I have had a few verbal bouts the past few days. But hey, what else is new? Anyways....

Inch -
Thanks for the congrats! Mucho appreciated!

*** / Ed -
How 'bout them SOX? Even I know that we can't win them all. Let's hope we can get 2/3 this series and this weekends v. Detroit. Nest Monday, we're at Yankee Stadium for a 4 game series and we all know we need a good lead going into that.

On the MRR front, one of my co-workers brought in a older (80's) LL Ho set that he wanted to get rid of. Asked him how much $$$ and he said not 1 cent. So, tonight I'll go through it and give a summary of it tomorrow.

Well, time to get ready to go home. Take care and have a good evening!

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010

I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017

Good evening everyone,

It must have been. Kitty watched the whole thing with me. That's a first for her. Wow, what a finish!!!!

Everybody
As I've whined about in the past, I still can't find most of my collection of train photos. They seemed to have crawled off to parts unknown during my last move. So far I've found only two of my file boxes, but that's enough to give me hope.

I have to admit that I've been downloading a lot of the pictures that you've posted in the recent past. I'm trying to rebuild my library. I hope you don't mind. I've decided to keep them on disk instead of photo files.

Inch
I'm developing quite a file from your postings. COOL[^]

Duke
Somehow I missed Your posting about your upcoming trip. You're riding the right bike for it, considering it's the Rolls of road bikes. I'm sure you'll have some good tunes on that six CD changer.

Well gang that's all I've got, so have a good evening.

Too bad about not being able to make it as I was hoping to meet you. I have met Attaboy in Strasburg last year and Ken last Nov and had a good time both times.

Ryan I am only going Sat when it is open to the public. I would like to be able to go for the week and catch some of the seminars (one in particular, Ken’s) but with a couple rides planned and the trip to Apex I won’t be able to.

Bill N I hope it doesn’t take too long for the photos to load for you and we will see what we can do about the restaurant in between the trips I have planned. Sure wish I was an ORF so that I wouldn’t have to work around vaca time to do things, not to mention that WORK(remember Maynard G.Grebbs) gets in the way all the time.

Mitch Good to see you again, even if it is just a drive by.

Ed must be busy in the grove with the last of the orange crop coming in because I haven’t seen him in a while.

Chloe change that to Bill N's tab since it's a new page now and we will give PC a reprieve tonight.

Hi Big Blue: Welcome to the coffee shop. You may have noted that the discussions run to almost everything. We do keep it clean because there are several youngsters on board. So tell us about yourself. We are just interested in knowing you better. What scale, era, prototype,or freelance etc.

I got home and went to bed. I slept untill 3pm when my neice calls to tell me her mom just called and there was a large snake in the house. Since she live just down the road I got dressed and grabed a hoe and my .22 pistol. She didn't say what kind of snake, so I was ready for anything. It turned out to be a rat snake. They can be intimidating. It was under a grandfather clock and hard to get at. I moved the clock and was able to pin it with the snake and finnally get it out the front door. Nothing but fun here.

I am feeling better. I still will get to bed early and try and get a good nignt's sleep. I think that was the main problem, not enough sleep.

So with that I'll say good night.

Good evening CS patrons: A clear and sunny day, no flies or bugs to speak of, and I got the shed cleared out to where I can see the floor again.[tup] This of course has nothing to do with the insurance company safety audit coming up this Saturday. [:-^]

Greg: Congratulations on Grad. What do you hope to study in college? That Calumet photo is something to keep (the copy I mean), as you say, it’s rare. Any historical society in your area would appreciate it, I’m sure. Just curious, as we are not yet through planting stuff in our garden, what are you harvesting this time of year?

Neal:
QUOTE: I visited the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia in 1960 and found it to be a beautiful place.
…and it still is! In fact you wouldn’t notice a whole lot of difference, I’d guess, except there are fewer people and industries. (Our local ground-wood pulp mill went down in August ’71 and wasn’t rebuilt, for instance.) Way less fishing too, as the cod stocks were over fished to virtual extinction. Roads haven’t improved much as far as I can piece together local lore.
Why not come on back and enjoy some peace and quiet.[(-D]

Mitchell: Good to see you again. And now a businessman! Congratulations, hope it takes off.[tup]

Paul:
QUOTE: I like the shot from the overpass. It gives a better perspective of the junction.

Nice work with the hoe, but there’s a story hidden in the “and finally get it out the front door.” Just how is that done? Enquiring minds need to know. [(-D] Glad you’ve caught up on sleep.[zzz]

Todd: [#welcome] I was thinking that perhaps you were in N, going on your post history, but I doubt your grandpa was in N. Hope it works out with the club, and maybe you could negotiate some layout space in you new home.[tup] BTW, since school’s just about out, we won’t be riding you on the “school work before mrr” protocol for students here in the CS. However, come Fall, we mean business with that one![:D]

BigBlue:[#welcome]…Hope you like it here. Could you please tell us a bit more about yourself and your mrr / railfan activities? BTW, does Hurricane Central mean NO, or Florida, or ???

BMTrains:[#welcome]…I see Paul has had time after his rat snake adventures to ask what I was about to.[:D]

I’m out of here, as I’ve a book to read that the library brought in all the way from North Battleford, Saskatchewan, just for yours truly. Better get at it. [X-)]
Goodnight all, and God Bless. Prayers for all in need of healing, comfort, and peace.[angel]

Unfortunately...That's the only good I can say about the weekend. Step-Dad, the [censored], had to go and act like a [censored], ruined the whole weekend, so now it's certain that the Bowmans and the Zucconis are splitting up. And so, guess what Adam, you'll probably be seeing me back in Sykesville.

Mitch: Good to see you again. I'll have to be keeping an eye on that hobby shop...Are the prices AUD?

I'd say more, but I'm not in a terribly good mood at the moment.

Hello everyone...

Not much going on here. Late welcome to all new visitors.

Layout is quiet because I might be moving soon, and I really don’t want spend much money or time putting something together that I will have to take down a short time later.

I’ve got an interesting track plan developing in my head. It combines both the wall-mounted layout with the island-style platform. The island-style platform will be for items that will require large amounts of space such as cities, some yards and some industries. The Wall mounted portions will be a go between the mainline for run-through’s, anything going from platform to platform and some track side industries should space permit.

I might be at the Train Show portion of the convention. There is a Greenberg train show in August, but they’re slow on getting details of the new location out, plus there seems to be more and more not train related vendors. I’m going to hold off until the last minute for the actual decision for more details on Greenberg that are scheduled to be released in June.

Here are a few shots from our Memorial Day Parade. It’s billed as the largest in the state at about 2 and ½ hours from start to finish.

Well, that’s all folks.

Morning all, just some coffee for now Zeo,
Another hot one, temps bout 90 and high humidly again. 40%chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. The saving grace is we’ve had a nice breeze of an afternoon.
Thought I was going to have a quiet evening, then Mother came home n reminded me, Leroy n Jocko had ballgames. The games weren’t very good , you could tell those little kids were hot n tired, n ready to go home, don’t blame them I was too.

Spitfire . Your grand dad didn’t brainwash ya, he just taught you to appreciate the finer thing in life.

Bill N , glad you enjoy the pics always happy to help.

Big Blue , welcome to the CS, sit back an enjoy a cup on me.

Paul , glad your feeling some better. Might have been the heat in that control room getting to ya yesterday.
Hope the snake survived capture.

Scott , prom pics look good, to bad bout the rest.

Mikeygaw , where are you moving to, just wondering?

Bout it fur now, need to get started. Thoughts n prayers for all in need

Hey James,

I like the look of your QR locos, too bad I am modelling HO, I don't know that much about QR in NSW but are they similar to the Pacific National NR Class? Perhaps you could do a Pacific National NR class as well? Just an Idea!

I am heading to Mudgee later in the year to Commission a new Coal Mine, unfortunately it will be serviced by Pacific National and not QR National as it would have been interesting to see the locos up close. I am responsible for the Control System down therre so it is my responsibility to load the trains correctly. That will be fun, hope I don't derail any trains by overloading them!

wow that sounds really interesting!!! and yes the they are similar internally apart from that NR's are DC and 5000's are AC, but externally there are some other spotting features, so to answer your Question, Yes they are similar, and we may look at the NR in the future.

I wish i had your job... what qualifications do you need? if you don't mind my asking?

Oh Btw the prices ARE in AUD for you foreigners out there...
Thanks,

Scott,
I feel your pain. It's tough when family can't seem to work out their problems. Sometimes it takes something big to happen to kind of wake people up to the fact that they're the cause of the problem. I know, because I was once the problem in my family. Scott, it's tough being in your shoes right now. If you need someone to talk to you can always Email me off line. Also, talking to other people you trust is helpful. Just don't let the actions of others be the cause of your own downfall. Too many people these days don't take responsability for their own actions. Your step father is responsible for his actions. You're responsible for your actions. Your family needs you right now, and you need them. This is a time for all of you to really draw close to one another and get the support you all need. Your step father is not able to be there completely for your family right now, and whether he realizes it or not, he needs for you to fill some of his role in the family. Your family needs him right now, but for whatever reason, he can't be there fully. You can be there for him. You can fill the gap left by him until his return. By doing this you bring honor to him, and it doesn't matter whether he deserves it or not in your eyes. The less he deserves it in your eyes, the more it honors your family, your mother (and the way she raised you), and yourself. Let me share something with you that I learned some time ago. Mercy is when you don't get something that you deserve. Grace is when you don't get something you deserve, but you get something better instead. It's a subtle, but important difference. You have the chance to show bitterness, distrust, withdrawl, and anger, or grace right now. You have the choice. I'm not saying that it's easy, but the choice is yours, and you are responsible for it. I urge you to take the high road in this.

I'll get off of my [soapbox] now. Just know that the reason I can say all of this is that I once was on the recieving end of grace. It changed me forever. You now have the power to affect change in others by showing that same kind of grace.

PC: You forgot Paul and I'm feeling much better and very hungrey. Janie, I'll have the chicken tenders on rice with gravey, baby carrots, green beans and a diet coke. Plenty of those corn bread muffins, please.

I just got finished with the park for opening. I'll have to go back in to fix the door to the telegrapher at Texas Depot. Someone tried to kick it in. It's not a real difficult repair but it will take a half hour or so. Does that count for model railroading?

It's break time now so I'll take one. I'll check back in later.

Paul that order you placed with the Girls sounds fantastic. Do you think PC would feed me dinner to?
