Good morning.  Todays high will be around 50.  Bring on the warmer temps!!

I was working on my latest "weathered" car.  I was going to put it on "the bay", but it looks like a hit and miss.  Some cars are going high, while others are staying low.  My luck it will stay low.

Might do some train hunting later today.  I found a new spot, and I will see what I get.

Well everybody have a good day.

OH..............Here's a shot for you Jeff.  Found the picture in the back of my photobucket album.

Does anybody have an image I could use as a backdrop for a residential street?  I’m looking for an older neighbor hood with the tree lined street.  I drove around this weekend, but the leaves aren’t out yet. Thanks.

Mornin' everyone!

It's a nice bright sunny but freezing cold day here in the Finger Lakes.  Currently 25°F with a high of 32°..... maybe.  That's OK as I have lots of stuff to keep me busy inside today.

Zoe, I'll have a hot bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar this morning and my cup of dark roast coffee in a FGLK Mug.  Thanks!

Have to finish up the work on the CD I am doing and get them ready to mail out to customers.  Also have a bunch of other odds and ends to get done.  The biggest is to read through the script of "Kiss Me Kate" a couple of times.  Hopefully being a bit more familiar with it will help doing sound......Whistling

I'll be in the front booth watching the switching going on outside..........

Coffee in a Large SOUTHERN mug and keep it coming, please & thanks.

***Johnboy, I know what you mean. I find it hard to keep up with all the posts, too some days. As for the trestles, no final decision has been made. I am leaning towards not using the big HO one.

Enjoying all the photos...keep 'em coming folks.Thumbs Up

My oldest brother went to that train show I mentioned previously and had a great time. He discovered DCC and what can be done in a small space. All he has left these days is a Z scale set. He use to have a bunch of beautiful lionel, headed by this loco: http://www.tandem-associates.com/lionel/lionel_trains_2065_loco.htm He REALLY wants to replace it one day, but they are way too costly for him. He also had lots of HO years ago, but it is his Lionel he misses. Anyway, it was very nice hearing him get energized to do something with Z scale.

Gotta go do critter rounds. Have a good day y'all. Cowboy Rob

Well, I see it's almost lunch time.  Mind if I join you?  Just a grilled cheese today Flo, thanks.

Stayed home today, it's been 7 weeks since dad passed and 5 since mom went but somedays it just hurts.  We have a small family,  just one uncle.  We kids (?) were very close to mom.   We're adults, but mom was still important to our lives. After going back to college after 30 years I had hoped she would be able to see me graduate.... only one more year to go.....

Did some work on a railcar float.  Thinking of using real rail instead of the plastic stuff that comes in the kit.  The float kit is huge..39 inches long, it may wind up with it's own module on wheels.  Doing several projects at once, keeps me busy while glue sets on other pieces.

Afternoon Gang: Not much going on here. It is going to rain this week. Notice I said going to. I figure being positive is the best way to get it. I just put out hay and we're down to 11 bales. John said he'd haul wednesday but it is supposed to rain heavy then. I don't know if I want the rain or the hay. I guess the rain. If I have to I['ll take the new tractor and the dump trailer out to his place and haul with them. The bad part of doing that is it takes about 5 hours to get out there and load then drive back. It's a 35 mile one way trip.

Mary ann is still feeling under the weather but getting better. If the coughing would just stop during the night she could get some uninterupted sleep. I'm doing better but still have a cough and getting up some flem.

Well I guess I had better get going and try to get something usefull accomplished today.

So far my day has gone about as I predicted. I went down and mowed my parents yard. That done I get told that there's a picnic table (one of two on the property) that needs to be moved. I can't move it myself so I push it to where it needs to be with the tractor. Then there are some piles of weeds to be picked up. They're very small piles so that's no problem. Then an old Murray-Ohio lawn tractor needs to be moved so it can be picked up and taken to 'Metal Mountain', a recycling place near here. The engine on it is dead so it has to be pulled. No problem. I pull it with their new Yardman tractor. By this time my father has left for his work. My mother is preparing to leave for most of the rest of the day and informs me that there are several (10) large piles of pine straw and branches to be picked up and I'll have to do it myself as there's no one to load the stuff. Know what? I'm here at home and those darn piles still aren't picked up. Ain't gonna be either, not be me at any rate. Last couple of times I did that I ended up in the hospital with massive infections. No more of that for me.

Hey all.Since I haven't been here in a few, I'd figure I'd drop in.

Robby, nice catch on getting a BNSF and KCS unit in one shot up there.

Jerry, nice find on those cars.

I got some new equipment during the weekend:

Those cars are all athearn kits. I don't have metal wheels on the tank cars since the P2K and branchlines don't fit. Looks like I'll have to get some that will fit.

A pair of Atlas SD24s. The UP one originally had sound, but now it's under the BN one. Don't know what I'll do with the UP one. I've though about using it to make the one SD24 that BN chopped the nose on and using it as a transfer engine; however, I'm leaning towards selling it off.

While I was in pensacola (car show, I have pictures of that too), I came across an actual BN caboose on some abandoned track:

If it's still there next time I'm in the area, I'll ask the people at the buisness near it if it's okay to go on their property to get closer (and maybe on it)

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

 Jerry-nice cars.

Vincent, nice locos.

Well, managed to get reciting that poem out of the way, and made at least a 98 on it, so I did good. and shakespare's romeo and Juliet ain't sounding too bad. I like the old school english from Elizabethan times; heck, I read the King James version of the Bible, not the New King james version. The old alnguage back then ain't so bad. I was venting yesterday because i hate memorizing stuff, lol.

Good for you, Sawyer!

My son emailed me a photo of my Granddaughter Emily and My Father in Law from when we visited last week just 3 days before he died.  I thought:  Alpha and Omega.  One at the beginning of her life and the other at the end of his......

Still haven't heard what is going to be done for a service for Barney.  I am sure my SIL will be in touch.  I know she is now dealing with all the  cleaning out of his room and what little personal effects he had.

Hope all of you are doing well and having a great day!

I'm glad you like the videos.  I have a better camera, but no cord for the computer.

JP, for your drain pipe, use heavy duty tin foil, a decent size bolt from Lowes/Home Depot.  Wrap the foil around the bolt, and press the foil into the bolts groves.  Kinda turn the bolt back out, and BAM..........You have yourself a pipe.

Lee,  good job.   Thats one thing we don't play.  Now my wifes grandma, well thats a different story Clown.

Well I'm off to bed.

Good morning,
I’ve been working on graphics for my freelance L. S. & W. railroad for some time without success.  I contacted Highball graphics last night and they quoted me $30 for an 8.5” x 11” sheet of heralds.

So I’ll be putting an order in with them this morning.

Robby, just remember the short covered hoppers are cement and the long hoppers are not.  Don’t let your loaders over load those 80’ cars, LOL.

Lee  yes I know.  I better make sure the loaders don't load that car.   Might have to hand out some pink slips.

Might work on the layout some.  Maybe even the scrap yard.

Well I've been looking in my photobucket album, and looking at old pictures.

Good morning.

Been having internet problems since 6:40 pm yesterday. One minute it's up then the next it's down. I'm getting really ticked at the lack of service out here.

I have a doctors appointment to go to at 9:30 to see what the results of my MRI were and to get some lab work done. More needles. Just what I need! Grrrrr! As if I don't see enough of the darn things already.

Good Morning, Diners - Zoe, can I have a glass of OJ and a coffee in a mug, please? Thanks.

Sorry for not being in lately. W**k was a bit of a 'bear' yesterday - about 10 hours with no lunch break or getting out of the place until 6:30 p.m. (and I still didn't get an intake dictated to be typed up yet...Sad). About ready to spit nails when I left, so I didn't even go to MRR club (didn't want to snap at any of them). Treated myself to dinner out, and stayed out until almost 10 last night. (And no, no alcohol consumption was involved...Sigh). Getting rather Banged HeadBanged Head about work the past few days. Might want two candles lit, G (one for me, and one for the #$%*^& administrators who think we're machines and can keep unreasonable expectations). Thanks.

I'll be sulking in the window booth for a bit. Hopefully, I'll start catching up a bit on other posts later tonight (but we'll see if I get off work on time).

Blessings for all us undeserving types,

Coffee in a large  SOUTHERN  mug, please & thanks.

It's so quiet around here, at first I thought the doors were locked.

After looking at a trestle kit I bought, just don't feel up to that much tiny work. Thinking of either adding to the big HO trstle to make it look busier for N, or just bagging the whole idea of a large trestle and carving out a large Natural Bridge instead. Was planning on having a natural bridge anyway, just not a large one.

Still waiting on a crossing track before making any final decisions. So the train room sits idle.

Mornin' everyone!

Gee Chloe, looks like a slow morning here.  Must be that those caught in the blizzard in the mid-west are hunkered down for the storm and those where the Spring has finally arrived and the sun is shining have to do all the outside yard w**k thing.  I'll have a bran muffin and a Dark Roast in a FGLK mug, thank you! No put the dark roast coffee in the mug not the muffin.........   I'll go sit in the front window booth with Jim and try to cheer him up a bit.

Speaking of w**k.  The show is rehearsing from 5PM to 10PM all week.  Mics are still being tested.... The leading lady has had her mic in 3 different locations and none of them do what I want.  Last night she was picking up the orchestra (mostly electric keyboard) just fine but not her own voice (mics tend to pick up what ever is loudest at the spot they are at....). The kid working the digital board was back last night, he was sick last week.  We have to tonight to get everything up to par.  They are still having massive problems getting scenes changed (both time taken and not having things where they are supposed to be).  Lots of forgotten and dropped lines, and missed cues.  Should be a fantastic show!

Yesterday I burned CDs of a concert I recorded (All County) a couple of weeks back, got them all done (around 30) and realized that one of the songs was in the wrong order........  So I threw them out and started over. Today I have to get them assembled and packed to mail.  Run to the bank and a whole lot of other stuff and it is already after 11AM.  So I'm going to finish the dark roast and get moving.

See you all later!

***Eric, no no no, I didn't mean that crossing, although we will gladly make use of it on the wife's HO layout. I was refering to an N scale crossing I ordered with the two tracks running through each other. (so I can have access to both mainlines from the staging area) No hurry on the HO crossing with gate...very happy to have it whenever it's convenient for you to send. Thanks!

While I'm here, a coffee refill, please. Cowboy Rob
